Survivor Tocantins - "The Biggest Fraud in the Game"

jackie's tv blog, survivor

The show has started here on the East Coast. While my full show review will be posted at TV Squad later tonight, I'll update this post with the major events as they air.

Of course, the real fun is in the comments! Join on in!

Brendan, JT and Debbie won reward -- whitewater rafting and a picnic. They sent Stephen to Exile Island (alone).

Tyson won immunity again.

ARGH. They listened to Coach! Brendan was voted off. ARGH!

  1. Hey! Anyone else here?

  2. Blah, blah, blah, blah -- is that bartender here? If I have to listen to coach go on and on and on, I will need a stiff drink!

    ReplyDelete
  3. Coach is so full of crap!

    ReplyDelete
  4. Something strong! Numb my ears, please. I think if I had been there I would have had to have an emergency bathroom call.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Coach may be the one in need of an outhouse.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Well, I read an article done by some reporter that said he'd extensively checked coaches many stories out and they are for real. He does conduct some kind of symphony or something and has done other of the things he talks abotu> But he has lost his job coaching, since he just told them he'd be gone a week -- not that he was doing Survivor -- and when he didn't come back week three, they fired him.

    ReplyDelete
  7. He does have diarrhea of the mouth, doesn't he?

    ReplyDelete
  8. Doesn't make him any less annoying in any case...

    ReplyDelete
  9. Oh, please let Brendan win immunity tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Nomad -- I'd like to go for sweet stuff instead of booze. How about ICE CREAM??? With bananas?

I have some fat free chocolate yogurt which tastes great and fat free cool whip, to go with it if anyone wants to make a lo cal split... lol

  11. Hello everyone. I would hate to have to scrape my teeth with a stick, ewwww! I couldn't stand going without brushing my teeth out there. No way!

    ReplyDelete
  12. We were raised that if you had to toot your own horn, then it isn't worth blowing.

    ReplyDelete
  13. CBS needs a running spit alert banner for everytime Coach opens his mouth.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Hi guys! I have missed you! Bad "gravity wave" winds Sunday took out my phone and DSL! They just got me back hooked up this afternoon!

Missed last weeks show and I'm kinda lost this week!

Pass me a drink: Salty Dog..real salty!

    ReplyDelete
  15. OH, I want to say Erin's was luck...
Coach does not get to go rafting.
I died laughing when coach said he'd done the tiles before.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Yo DONNAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!

    She surfaces! How is work?

    ReplyDelete
  17. SO excited to hear from you Ms. D--

    ReplyDelete
  18. That's not really good for Brendon and JT to be away from all the schemers so long.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Work is good, lots to do and learn! I'm loving it, maybe when I have time I can manage to get online and catch up!

    ReplyDelete
  20. Send Coach to exile! He's so dramatic coach is. DOn't worry coach, you can get on a raft if you make it to the jury and have some time off.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Unless Brendon can somehow get in JTs ear....

    ReplyDelete
  22. Look, it's dark by the time the first spark worked. I'm amazed that no one has chopped their fingers off doing that with the machete.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Who left last week? I haven't had a chance to read Jackie's yet.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Hoe nice of them to digitize the rpicnicples crotch as she climbed out of the boat.

Why do they not show how sick people get after eating anymore? Remember in the first seasons how they used to run to the loo or be suffering because they had NOT gone to the loo for days after eating brownies and such?

    ReplyDelete
  25. No one Donna. Well Joe left but was medivac'd.

    ReplyDelete
  26. no one Donna - Joe had an infection on his knee that got so serious they had to medivac him off the island, out of the game permanently.

Brendan was the one they had plotted to vote out.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Oh JT is sitting pretty as the in-between swing vote now. Nice!

Good to see you Donna ! I recorded last week's show and decided to finally watch it this afternoon so I could be ready for tonight. Imagine my surprise when I found out instead that I had one hour of weather warnings ! Glad it was last week and not tonight.

  29. Hey, everyone. I'm popping in from Berkeley tonight where I'm playing nurse for my daughter. She is resting after surgery today. Can't wait to read the comments and see what's happening tonight!

    ReplyDelete
  30. I have a sinus migraine... would a drink help?

    ReplyDelete
  31. OK, MAYBE THAT DRESS TAJ WROE IN WASN'T SUCH A BAD IDEA AFTER ALL.. sorry about all caps. She has worn that in a million ways, and it's been a big help in keeping the insects off her (they've been eating her alive)

    ReplyDelete
  32. Hey Sizzie!

    Hey LAURIE!!!

Dusty -- a drink of theraflu or petron?

    ReplyDelete
  33. Yay, Coach could be a goner tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I LOVE this challenge. Twins, lol. Yes it seems so at times. :)

    ReplyDelete
  35. Coach, all talk, little action.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Tyson is like a yoga master. Rubber boy

    ReplyDelete
  37. Come on, Brendan!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Please, please, please let Brendan win.

    ReplyDelete
  39. These challenges always amaze me. There is little sleep or regular food and this late in the game people can perform such physically taxing challenges.

    OH SHUT UP COACH!

    ReplyDelete
  40. I am so glad Coach didn't get the reward -- even with his "experience". Darn I had a long distance call and missed everything from the time they sent Steven to Exile.

    ReplyDelete
  41. do we think coach's plan is going through? Any chance they will just get rid of coach instead?

    ReplyDelete
  42. CRAP!!! Oh well, at least this will make for some exciting plotting tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Trying to find out what everyone had to say. Is anyone other than Brendon leaning toward evicting Coach.

    ReplyDelete
  44. In the best world, Brendan would have won and he and JT would both be safe. This is getting good. For a season that started out so slow, it sure is heating up now. Yummy!

    ReplyDelete
  45. I think Brendan is getting blindsided tonight. D**n!

    ReplyDelete
  46. I hope he plays the immunity idol.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I think coach had been dying his hair. Isn't it a little grey suddenly? lol

first time seeing Taj with glasses.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Love the idol head dress, Tyson.

    ReplyDelete
  49. He so doesn't even pick up that others are making faces. Is he CUE less? Not even clue less...

    ReplyDelete
  50. I like Jeff in this sage like color... never seen tha ton him before.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Please, please, please, let Coach go home.

    ReplyDelete
  52. STOP STOP STOP with the head of the dragon quotes! STOP IT STOP!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  53. Use the idol just in case, Brendan. Please, please, please.....

    ReplyDelete
  54. coach is always having his carlos casteneda momnents.

    ReplyDelete
  55. what? sierra? Whose were those?

    ReplyDelete
  56. It will be Brendon. He has been had. Should have played the II.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Another idol not played. that was just stupidity right there. He let them know he had it and didn't use it. DUMB!

    ReplyDelete
  58. WOW. I am amazed! JT went with them... This was not because everyone wants to keep coach, but because JT and his sidekick thought they needed to get BRendan out while they had the chance otherwise he would win...

    THat's what I'm telling myself.

The producers are crowing over keeping drama coach for another week of sound bytes. Oh he will be horrible -- gloating all the way back to camp. But he and Tyson are tight....

    ReplyDelete
  59. I should have said arrogant stupidity. Argh! And Coach lives to fight another day. WOW!!!

    ReplyDelete
  60. omg monty -- that was so dumb of him> NEVER feel that confident. So many seasons lately have been all blindsides all the time!

    ReplyDelete
  61. Well, that wasn't fun.

    ReplyDelete
  62. I hope Steven, Taj and JT go down, down, down. Brendon was the only one who could have gotten Coach out. Sierra is the only one worth staying IMHO. I hope Coach talks them to death or at least until they volunteer to go home to get away from him.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Wow, that was a weird vote when they showed who voted for whom. All over the place.

I guess that a few people were voting for sierra so she'd be out if Brendan used the idol?

    ReplyDelete
  64. As much as I dislike Tyson, I would rather see him win that JT, Taj or Steven.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Well, that was a fantastic episode regardless of who you're rooting for. Steven on excile with his challenge to start his fire "baby", the scheming and suspense, and the shock and WOW of finding someone on the cast who is more arrogant than Coach.

Who would have thunk it? Westies will have fun with this one. Off to chores now. Ugh!

    ReplyDelete
  66. Sorry, I forgot to comment on Coach's Amazon story earlier. Did anyone else get a creepy Deliverance kind of vibe out of that?

    ReplyDelete
  67. monty said: Well, that was a fantastic episode regardless of who you're rooting for. Steven on excile with his challenge to start his fire "baby",
    ***

That part was good. It also makes me wonder if somehow that will play a part later in the series. Have we seen if Coach can make fire?

    ReplyDelete
  68. Someone more arrogant than Coach? Really?

    ReplyDelete
  69. I am sure someone must have mentioned it already, but Coach looks just like someone I have seen. Is it a Pharoah?

    ReplyDelete
  70. I hope Coach doesn't win this season. God only knows to what heights his ego would soar.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Sydney said: The producers are crowing over keeping drama coach for another week of sound bytes

    Drama Coach...thats funny, Sydney

my wv is disadint : )

  72. Ponderosa starts tomorrow!

    ReplyDelete
  73. Sizzle, we have only seen that Coach can talk and direct an air orchestra.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Hey guys. I've missed blogging for quite a few episodes; "real life" is taking over - aargh!

Any news on the next BB?

    ReplyDelete
  75. Well, I'm out of the pool. ARGH! JT, Steven & Taj are so stupid! They should have split up the Tyson/Coach alliance while they had the chance. They deserve whatever they get! Tyson is going to dominate the physcial challenges, too.

I don't know if I can listen to Coach many more weeks. That guy is so full of himself! What a jerk!

I think I'll cheer Sierra on now.

    ReplyDelete
  76. I just watched my DVR of Survivor and I can only say...BOO!!!! Coach is such a jerk...they listen to him, they deserve it!

    ReplyDelete
  77. Did you notice what they didn't show us in the episode, and that was 3 voting for Sierra (like they planned the week before) in case Brendan played the idol. She would have gone home instead of Brendan... so JT and Stephen really did side with Coach... how stupid are they. I could never stand the stories he tells.. most have to be made up. He's a real jerk! AHHHHHHH!

And monty... yes!!! I would have been embarrassed to tell that story about the tribe, especially that part of it... Deliverance is a perfect comparison. Again... what a JERK! Doesn't he realize he has to go back to being a "real person" when this is over. His friends (if he has any) must be laughing at him for sure. Even Tyson commented on his story telling.

Seirra looked like she was going to faint when her name kept coming up.

    Brendan was squashed.

And the look on Coach's face when he didn't get to go WWRafting was priceless.

Well at least we'll get to see Brendan each Tribal Council, since he's the first member of the jury!

    ReplyDelete
  78. Sorry Jackie, I didn't read your TV Squad article until after I commented here. I guess YOU noticed they did the Sierra/Brendan thing this episode like they had discussed the week before. The editing just didn't show them discuss it again this episode.

I was reading the comments from people over on TV Squad... guess there's only 2 fans of Coach... otherwise he's not a fan favorite... Really?? Duh!

    ReplyDelete
  79. G'morning.
I agree with the whole tribe about JT - he's a sweet, gorgeous, Southern dumplin!

    ReplyDelete
  80. Damn those idiots! Why are they listening to Coach?? The man is a delusional ninnie and they all know it! I wonder if he has kids? I can just picture a teenage daughter rolling her eyes at the TV thinking "I cannot believe that man is my father!!"

Sorry Jennasmom & Jodie. You've been sent to the Ponderosa with Brendan. At least you're in good company...

  81. I don't like Coach. I am wondering why everyone except Brendan and Sierra followed his plan. Maybe they thought it was Tyson's plan and they like him. I don't like Tyson so much either.
I was so disappointed that JT, Stephen and Taj didn't go in with Brendan to get rid of Coach.
I don't actually have a favorite player anymore. I am so disappointed in JT. I guess I may start cheering for Erinn. I have heard her referring to Coach as a Jackass. That leads me to believe she has some brains which is more than I can say for most of the others.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Jeff's blog is good reading each week, but this is so great that I am still chuckling. :)

    Enjoy!

  83. Guess maybe they're embracing Coach's insanity rather than fearing it. The guy is a fruitloop. Taj, Stephen and even JT will regret not getting the (self-proposed) Dragonslayer out when they had the chance and you can bet Tyson will turn on him as soon as he needs to. I just hope someone finds the opportunity to do the same for Tyson.

Sounds like Brendan thought The Ponderosa was going to be a bit more luxurious.

    ReplyDelete
  84. dla: just read Jeff's article. Thanks for the heads-up. It's hilarious and I LOVE the fact that he straight-out called Coach a liar. Only hope he's really kidding about the new Dragonslayer show. LOL!

  88. Jackie, great write up on TV Squad. Awe, why can't they murder Coach in his sleep? Darn!

I hope that Erin wins. I would pull for Sierra, but she will go home next week if she doesn't win immunity.

    ReplyDelete
  89. hey so even though I really cant stand coach cause he is extremely annoying I am sad to admit that I have found out that coaches stories are true after reading a book "A Voyage Beyond Reason: A Saga of Survival Based on the Original Journals of Benjamin Wade."

    ReplyDelete
  90. Anyone can write a book and say whatever. Even if he did some of what he says he did, his attitude and ego negate any admiration anyone might have for his feats. His own opinion of his greatness and superiority is such a turnoff. To me, his stories reek of exaggeration, if not outright lies. He mentioned National Geographic wanting to follow him and he told them, "This is about me." Coach's whole trip through life is about "me".

    ReplyDelete
  91. I went over to Amazon and read excerpts from that book. Coach didn't write it. It was authored by Tom Gauthier and based on Coach's own journals from 1996. Even the author is quoted as saying, "IF the journal mirrors the life he experienced, it would seem a miracle that he survived at all." Sounds to me like he may have had his own doubts as to the authenticity of the stories.

    ReplyDelete
  92. I just now watched this episode and I all I have to say is that I HATE COACH. I so wish that they voted him out. I'm hoping that they will do it soon. I hope Tyson goes too.

Having those two on the show makes me not want to watch.

    ReplyDelete
  93. For another good laugh, go over to Amazon & read the customer reviews of the book.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Here's another interesting story about Brendan:

    http://www.realityblurred.com/realitytv/archives/survivor_tocantins/2009_Apr_17_brendan_burritos

He's giving away burritos until Coach is voted out to promote his new company. Let's hope it is a short promotion!

    ReplyDelete
  95. Yeah, Jennasmom, those reviews are rich! The only good one is the authors. Coach is a bad joke! He truly believes his own press. LOL!
