Survivor Tocantins: "It's Funny When People Cry"

jackie's tv blog, survivor

Without even seeing the show yet, I would guess that has to be Tyson's line (the episode title). I want Coach gone, I want Tyson gone.

The show has started here on the East Coast. Everyone is welcome to gather in the comments area for snacks, beverages, and show talk! I'll update this entry with major events as they air. My review of the show will be posted over at TV Squad later tonight. Let's see if Sierra can make a comeback!

JT, Erinn, Tyson, and Deborah won reward -- local entertainment and a feast. JT told them to send Stephen to Exile. He told us he didn't want Sierra to find a second idol if there is one.

Debbie won Immunity. At least it wasn't Tyson.

Woohoo! Taj flipped it again -- TYSON was voted out!

  7. Oh, coach's speech was going fine til he said he pressed 300lbs. Then tried to speak in french, THEN he mentioned the DRAGON SLAYER AGAIN>>>> and could not help but smile into the camera.

  8. Hmmm Jackie, I don't remember reading that. But I just asked my husband and he said yes. Nice, I have too much school work to remember anything apparently, lol.

Jackie I sent you a quickie question, for whenever you have time. i just wanted to mention it because you get so many e-mails.

Oh Tyson didn't have to say that. He's a biotch.

  9. Okay, I really dislike Tyson now. He is funny but also mean. Just MEAN! Did you see the look on Sierra's face? Oh, she will kick butt tonight if she harnesses that.

  10. wow, THAT is a COOL challenge!!! 7 holes! Someone was drinking red bull and coffee to come up with that one.

Caramel Corn, yum! I have some homemade ice cream here.

  12. why is coach lagging so far behind. It didn't look like he was trying to run very fast did it?

    ReplyDelete
  13. those knots are not so easy to get undone.

Good idea Taj, to let her shoulders do the work. (Unless she trips. Yikes!)

    ReplyDelete
  14. guess it's not so hard to tell which piece fits on the bottom?

    ReplyDelete
  15. i take it back -- it IS as hard as it first looked.

    ReplyDelete
  16. You know that when Coach was up he would lose the lead. Dragon Slayer -- try Drag A$$

    ReplyDelete
  17. Now that's interesting.... Stephen will get a clue to the II that Brendan wasted. Awesome!

OMG, not another Amazon reference Coach. Give it a rest. I'm still creeped out from last week.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Might know that Draga$$ would take over as the leader of his team. Why do they keep sending Steven to Exile?

Woah!!! Loved Jeff's little digs to coach!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Gotta love JEFF!!! Dang you mean the indigenous people who kidnapped Coach didn't ask him to solve board puzzles? Dang, I thought those were in his life experiences too!!!

    ReplyDelete
  20. love having a camera in your face while you're getting sick dontcha? You sign it all away on those contracts! :-)

    ReplyDelete
  21. Debbie's got some moves on her.

    ReplyDelete
  22. THat was a funny montage of him on exile.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Over eating finally got one that they will show.

He,he,he....Steven found out there is no other idol.

I guess he plans on keeping the idol that someone told him about.

    ReplyDelete
  24. oh boy, they don't like Sierra

    ReplyDelete
  25. Sydney, its been a while since they showed anyone throwing up after a feast. I wouldn't have wanted to be Erin there.

    ReplyDelete
  26. oy, she's digging her grave more... have I missed something? Is Sierra horrible?

    ReplyDelete
  27. This is totally playing up to be a Sierra win for immunity. Good!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Finally, a tender side to Coach!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Cool, shuffleboard. Where did everyone go?

    ReplyDelete
  30. AUGH -- PIzza! They really know how to kill people!

    Taj looks miserable.

    ReplyDelete
  31. COach has an evil smile as he shows the rock.

Cracks are starting to form. They are setting up the possible turn to get coach out....

    ReplyDelete
  32. iF only coach didn't look so smug while eating --- under an umbrella no less...

    ReplyDelete
  33. Oh, BS Coach? If Sierra doesn't win immunity, she is going home. If she does, she will go home next week.

Sorry, but I would not give those jerks the pleasure of seeing me cry.

You should know that Coach would eat. I wish it could come back and bite him on the behind.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Hmmm Jeff is the only person who does not look like he'd freezing.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Whoa.... didn't see that one coming. I hope it isn't Sierra going home.

    ReplyDelete
  36. THat was a tough lost break for sierra. A person who does not need immunity got it.

    ReplyDelete
  37. So the key to coach is just asking him for advice.

What would a meeting between Ekhardt Tolle and Coach look like? lol

    ReplyDelete
  38. Darn, but I love the way Coach says if he had stayed he would have won! What a jerk!

I should have known that the editing would lead people to believe that Sierra won immunity.

Did you see the Judas kiss Debbie gave her? Debbie is my person, but I will cheer when she goes too.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I know MOnty -- Becky has to still be here. Anonymous too> I think Sizzie just checked in. Jackie, are you there?

    JoyN are you there?

I know it's not on yet for our westcoasters....

    ReplyDelete
  40. I'm watching mostly but also checking in here.

    ReplyDelete
  41. What is with Tyson being so overtly cruel. It would be great if they got him out. They have shown him to be funny too, but he and coach bonded early, which gave me pause... I wondered what qualities they might share.

    ReplyDelete
  42. TJ what are you thinking about wanting sierra to go over Tyson

    ReplyDelete
  43. Hey girl! well thanks for saying hi. Always beings a giant grin to my face.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I wish Tyson would decide this was the week to get rid of Coach. He was very upset at him when he chose to eat.

Oh, do take out Tyson. Please, please, please.

    ReplyDelete
  45. OH! I didn't quite realize Brendan was the first member of the jury -- that's great. And then people are going to regret being so outwardly mean to Sierra, enmasse.

    ReplyDelete
  46. ugh, could you imagine having a date with Tyson?

    ReplyDelete
  47. THank you For saying something Jeff -- Tyson it could cost you in the game. Go Sierra, use your time to break Tyson down before the vote.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I love, love, loved Taj's eyeroll. Reminds me of Jackie's

    @@@ :-_

    ReplyDelete
  49. Come on Tyson go bye-bye... PLEASE!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  50. Ohhh, I doint the happy dance...

Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, and so on and son on.... lol

    ReplyDelete
  51. BARF!!! Coach is so full of himself. What a jerk!

Boy, he knows how to stroke people. I think the others will back off from voting agains Tyson.

Smug look of Coach's face. No smug look now! ROFLMAO!!! Remember how he laughed when Brendon was voted out. You better worry, Coach!

    ReplyDelete
  52. !!! I AM SCREAMING FOR JOY !!!

    For joy and joyn!

    ReplyDelete
  53. wow -- That was PRICELESS!!

I wonder, don't people who go on this show WATCH season after season and realize that the arrogant or over confident always F-up?

Sierra looked like she was going to cry....

    ReplyDelete
  54. Hi ya'll, I've been here all along but just lurking tonight.

    Loved the blindside!!

    ReplyDelete
  55. Brendan was clapping that you are out Tyson

    ReplyDelete
  56. Being outfoxed by an idiot.... define idiot Ty!

    ReplyDelete

    Patti h

    ReplyDelete
  59. Hey Tyson guess you never heard that old saying what goes around comes around! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  60. But she didn't cry, Sy. I loved the look on her face when the votes for Tyson started coming in. Disbelief. If the "dragass" is smart he will begin to worry. I like that he and Debbie realize they are in deep doggy do.

I hope Coach comes unglued at camp because they "betrayed" HIM, the honorable warrior.

Did you see how Brendon laughed! And Tyson calling them sneaky bastards.

And Sydney, I can't imagine going out in public with Tyson.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Oh that was fun ! I don't know if they even know Sierra to like her or not...it is all the mob mentality of liking who the leader tells them to. They should show this episode when teaching kids about peer pressure.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Well, this was a priceless night of Survivor. When the vote was counted my phone started ringing, lol. My brother and I are totally on the same page with this show.

Tyson, who's really the idiot here? Sierra outsmarted you big time or maybe it was Stephen... who cares, lol.

I'll just have to catch Tyson's one-liners at Ponderosa now. Great! Coach NEXT!!!

    ReplyDelete
  63. Did you see in the previews that Coach yelled at Sierra, "Where is your loyalty?". This from the guy who told her earlier he would not save her.

Coach may have needed new britches for that walk back tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  64. I was looking for the Ponderosa (sp??) site and came upon another one where people were saying how much they hate Coach.

The best of the ones I read was:
"beasley commented on How Much Do You Hate Coach?:
I have a difficult time believing that Coach has been in 7 or 8 life-and-death situations. Certainly more than eight people have wanted to kill him."

    ReplyDelete
  65. How perfect is that, Becky? HeHeHe!

    ReplyDelete
  66. Just finished watching and YAHOO! My girl Sierra is still in it! I thought we were a gonner tonight! But we live to fight another week!

    ReplyDelete
  67. Jackie,
I am looking forward to reading your review at Tvsquad later tonight.
Please don't hold back on epressing your glee that Tyson got blindsided!
Survivor fans everywhere cheered tonight. To paraphase one of Tyson's lines tonight, I think maybe his Mother and Dad felt bad for him! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  68. Woo hoo! Tyson is gone.. hopefully next week it will be coach.

You guys get me so fired up waiting to watch it here on the west coast!

    ReplyDelete
  69. I haven't read any comments yet and just finished watching the show. I think this is the first time I've waited to see how the show ends before reading about it.

Whoo hoo! What a great ending. I love how the smug faces paled as Tyson got the boot. Of course, his attitude continued but who cares. He is gone and the coach may be right behind him. Yes! Yes! Yes!

    ReplyDelete
  70. YAAAHOOOO!!! Tyson is GONE!!

Happy happy happy dance on the West Coast tonight! :)

    ReplyDelete
  71. I'm super happy that Tyson got the boot last night...but I'm surprised that no one on here commented on the fact that after everything it was ERINN who flipped the tribe. After her argument with Sierra she told the camera that everything Sierra said was right, and they're so stupid cause she (Erinn) was gonna flip the game. And boy did she ever. Stephen was extremely helpful convincing JT...but it was Erinn that got the idea in Stephen's head. Guess Timbira forgot how horribly they treated Erinn for weeks, but she certainly didn't forget. Who would have thought she'd have the moves for this...but major props to her.

I really hope Sierra lets Coach & Debbie beg all the way up to tribal council and then still votes one of them out. How dare they expect her to give them another chance when they weren't the least bit generous to her.

    ReplyDelete
  72. As much as I hated to see Tyson go, because he's my guy in the pool, I was so glad to see Coach's plan go up in smoke! Can't wait for next week to see how he reacts!! The game is gettin' fun now...

  73. Tyson is actually acting "nice" at Ponderosa. Surprising since he was such a jerk in the game. He and Brendan are getting along like buddies. But I am wondering if Tyson is trying to gather votes for Coach or Debbie, just in case. I don't trust this guy and I despised his unnecessary mean-ness towards Sierra.

Caroline is right. Errin deserves mucho kudus for pulling this off last night. She and Sierra ought to pull together. Never underestimate women!

    ReplyDelete
  74. Jeff's blog intimates that Sierra is his girlfriend. I'm not sure if he's joking.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Joyn...thanks for the heads up about the blog. It does sound possible that Jeff is dating Sierra, or maybe she's dating someone who works with him or something.

Just one question...I only started reading his blogs like 2 wks ago...any idea who Serena is? I was completely lost there.

    ReplyDelete
  76. If you have not read Jeff Probst for this week, check it out. Go to the bathroom first because you will wet your pants laughing.

  77. A commenter mentioned that Serena is a friend of Jeff's. Don't know if that commenter is right. I wondered who the heck she was, too.

    ReplyDelete
  78. JoyN-- Sorry, I'm a little confused...Jeff's girlfriend or Tysons?

    ReplyDelete
  79. OOOh Caroline -- I like your plan for Sierra!

    ReplyDelete
  80. I went to google and put in 'survivor serena jeff' for the search and a lot of sites came up. I didn't read them all, but you many people are curious about her.

    ReplyDelete
  81. I also searched to find out more about Serena, and cannot figure out if she is an "imaginary" friend or an actual person. I didn't spend too much time on it, but there seems to be a lot of speculation and inquiring minds want to know.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Syd, Jeff's girlfriend. He sort of sounds like he's saying she is, but I'm not sure if that's just tongue-in-cheek or if he's serious.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Are we talking the show's SIERRA or someone names SERENA?

In reading just the comments here, seems both are used here, and interchangably. I can google both but I am trying to do a paper today! Just asking in case someone can set this straight. Thanks. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  84. OK, I could glean this much --Serena is someone Jeff mentions in his blog, giving "her" opinion on the show. He refers to her as my friend Serena once. Then someone commented that Serena is an imaginary friend Probst created when he first started his blog.

If you google Jeff adn serena you will see further down in the things that come up that Jeff hosted something Serena Williams was on. I don't think they're going out, or that he asks her for constant comments on the show. He may have borrowed her name for the imaginary friend. And all this might be wrong, but I would not put it past Probst to come up with something to get people talking on the boards.... he succeeded!lol

    ReplyDelete
  85. Syd, Serena is mentioned as a friend, but In his blog for episode 10, he also mentions Sierra. I'd have to go back to read it again but he mentioned Tyson's remark during that episode about Sierra's boy friend can't be very cool.

Okay, I went back and re-read it. This is what Jeff wrote:

BTW: Tyson, you're wrong - her boyfriend IS pretty cool. Mess with him, you mess with me and you don't want to mess with me. Okay, check that, maybe you do want to mess with me, so I'm asking, please don't mess with me.

Maybe serious, maybe joking? I'm not sure.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Thanks to everyone on the discussion about Serena. I guess we'll just keep an eye on Jeff's blogs and see what comes of it. He certainly did get all of us talking about it though.

Too bad we have to wait until Thurs to see Coach beg for Sierra to save him. I can't wait!

    ReplyDelete
  87. This is all way after the fact because I just watched season 18 online. In his blog Jeff is constantly referencing the potential for Sierra to end up married to a "Survivor" producer. I don't think he means himself. I think he means she actually DOES end up married to one, and so that explains all of his comments along the way, and his comment directed at Tyson. I.E. Jeff can naturally be presumed to be good friends with the producer, whoever he is.

I am breathing a sigh of relief that Serena might be an imaginary friend. LOL. Yes, he does refer to her as a friend once, but he also says something about going to bed in connection with her. I would love it if she's just a blog device and not an actual person. LIKE IT MATTERS. Like I have a shot at him. Still--helps to keep the fantasy alive. ;)
