The Amazing Race Season Premiere Blog Party Post

Yes! It's almost here! Yep, you got it ... the premiere is delayed. Sigh. I think it's running about fifteen minutes late. So it should be starting at 8:15 PM ET ... or in that vicinity.

Zoetawny has made us a new blog logo and we have a two-hour season premiere tonight. As the show airs here on the East Coast, I'll update any major happenings in this entry. However, the real fun (and most of the information) will be in the comments. Everyone is welcome to join in.

  1. I'm sad that the Race is late but I I'm glad that my Chargers won and we watched them on CBS. Guess I can't have both things on the same day!

I brought some good snacks for the Race so we can start on those anytime. There's a really yummy and not too spicy chili with cheese dip in the crock pot and plenty of chips for dipping. I have a big pitcher of sun tea to share, too. Yes, it's still way warm here and the sun tea is still being made daily!

    ReplyDelete
  4. *splash*

    ReplyDelete
  5. Hooray! I hope we don't have any ugly Americans this year.

    ReplyDelete
  6. yay! 60 minuesis over, bring on the teams

I hope he knows the hood isn't the woods.

    ReplyDelete
  7. I brought an 12-pack of Coors Light, one is missing...
Oh, and a slab of venison ribs on the tenderloin. Dig in.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Is that where the Grease race was held?

    ReplyDelete
  9. Wow, that's some pressure. Eliminated before you even get to begin the Amazing Race around the world.

    ReplyDelete
  10. HARD first challenge, geesh!

    ReplyDelete
  11. And their off! Read the clues!!!

    ReplyDelete
  12. Yay, go sexy and 60!!! Still in the race.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Well my team made it out of the starting gate. That's brutal that you are done before you even start.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Hey Petals, it does look like the scene from Grease.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I made some vegetable soup since the weather has turned a bit chilly here in MD.

    ReplyDelete
  16. My team may be out before the race, if so, I'm rooting for the dad.son, Gary & matt.(I think that's the dad/son team)

    ReplyDelete
  17. Yippee my team is still in!!!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Phil mentioned the Grease race. My team is in trouble.

    ReplyDelete
  19. SS Jackie that really stinks

    ReplyDelete
  20. Was that your team, Ms Jackie? Oh well, they still have hair, LOL.

    Tessa - kewl avatar.

    ReplyDelete
  21. The last couple will be bickering through the entire race.

    ReplyDelete
  22. You can join me on the Dad/son team

    ReplyDelete
  23. I already am turned off of the lawyer. People like him are the ones that give lawyers a bad rap.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Eric & Lisa "Yoga in the hood " won't be going to Tokyo, I was looking forawrd to seeing them on the race.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Delee, I wanna join your team, as soon as mine folds, :)

    ReplyDelete
  26. Tahnks Petals. I just realized I still had my Dancing with the Stars avitar up so I switched.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Well, my two are already bickering! Not good. Not good!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Anytime Petals...the H Globetrotters should be good for alot of humor

    ReplyDelete
  29. Ahh, finally found my team. The father/son changed shirts was scared they were lost.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Becky , you could call that the Elvis Banana Pudding. Jackie, you can join me rooting for the Globetrotters. I just got back home (had a quick errand I thought I could fit in before the show started) and am glad it is two hours. Too bad about the first last team.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Yowsers there is going to be some sweat and tears

    ReplyDelete
  32. Pit stop already quite a change

    ReplyDelete
  33. I made some rice krispie treats for everyone!! Hope you aren't all filled up all ready!

    Sue

    ReplyDelete
  34. hi everyone,

I just got home and signed on here and I believe my team is out before I even got to see them! LOL Well, better them than me.

    Hi, Petals.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I thought they started the rule last year that you couldn't have someone lead you to where you are supposed to go.

    My girls are in trouble!

    ReplyDelete
  36. I think my sexy 60 yo gal is a little flaky, lol. Could get real interesting.

I felt so bad for the poker chic. She has to eat another one of those now. Yikes!

    ReplyDelete
  37. SS Joe they were the yoga bunch so I guess karma got them

    ReplyDelete
  38. I'm here - Go Poker Chicks!

    Margo

    ReplyDelete
  39. Becky - You couldn't bribe them with personal belongings to lead.

    ReplyDelete
  40. The taller H Globe dude kind of looks like Charles Barkley haha

    ReplyDelete
  41. I'm gonna freelance on my team rooting as mine is gone. I like the older couple, the one younger couple (Mika and Canaan), the Globetrotters, and Zev/Justin.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Hey Margo...We've been swimming without a lifeguard. But don't worry, I didn't go in the deep end.

    ReplyDelete
  43. AlbGlinka here, can I stomach a season of TAR?? It always just seems like a bunch of fools yelling "Faster, faster!" in different languages to bewildered cab drivers...

    I just wanna play here!

    (At work currently, 6pmish PST)

    ReplyDelete
  44. I think with every chew I would be saying ONE MILLION reasons to eat this...

    ReplyDelete
  45. How funny is this? We are hysterical here at my house. What a great start!
Sorry to those who had the yoga-zen couple.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Crappie trip if you ask me

    ReplyDelete
  47. She did it!!!! I couldn't have done it! I don't like real spicy food. Or it doesn't like me. One way or the other.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Glad to hear the Mika/Canaan team has your interest Jackie. I have to wait a couple more hours to see for myself!!

Sue (still trying to pass out Rice Krispy Treats before she eats them all)

    ReplyDelete
  49. Oh no.. father/son in trouble

    ReplyDelete
  50. soo funny how they play the Globetrotter theme every time they show them.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Karma bit my yoga folks? How much would it suck to be them? You wait for maybe years to get a chance to run the race and you last like 30 seconds...Do they get to go straight home or do they get sequestered for a bit? I know Survivor won't let them go home until they all go home. Does TAR do the same thing?

    ReplyDelete
  52. This is brutal! Oh-oh, trouble in paradise!

Jackie, thanks for the explanation. Did you get some rest today? Have you tried Alka Seltzer Plus? If you get the lemon flavor, and use ice cold water it isn't bad. It will dry you head up quickly.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Joe - Yes, they get a vacation for about a month on TAR. Unlike Survivor, they actually go somewhere unfilmed.

    ReplyDelete
  54. The only team rubbing me wrong right now is Lance/Keri. He's obnoxious and over-bearing.

Becky - I never could stomach Alka Seltzer.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Thank God, Marcy and Ronald made it to the mat. The Globetrotters are my second fav team, for now. :)

    ReplyDelete
  56. Oh man, its going to be funny when Maria & Tiffany find out that Dan & Sam are gay & they can't use their femine wiles on them, LOL.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Oh, at least my girls are still in it.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Monty, glad to hear we made it through the first day! *whew*

Meghan & Cheyne are from San Diego, and there was a piece about them on the news tonight. I was hoping they weren't the couple who never got started! Also, Cheyne is the son of a friend of a work friend. She posted on FB that everything is hush hush. I doubt I'll get any inside info, but I'll share if I do!

Two more hours before the show starts here ... I hope I can awake after dinner.

    ReplyDelete
  59. That Sushi game was harsh.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Shout out to PC. The lawyer deserves a kick in the nutsack!

    ReplyDelete
  61. This is a fun one with lots of great teams. The lawyer guy is a bit obnoxious and I don't like the poker girls. How great is the Zev/Austin?

    ReplyDelete
  62. Do they have swine flu in Japan -- rather is it bad right now?

The girls may not be telling anyone they are poker players, but people are picking up on the fact that they are shifty. Now they have been recognized! Being caught in a lie so early is not good.

It is funny that they are flirting with the gay guys!

    ReplyDelete
  63. So Dan & Sam don't plan on telling anyone they're gay, I don't know about y'all but I'm a hag, my gaydar is always on.

    ReplyDelete
  64. That's awesome, Laurie on the home town connection.

Everyone is starting to turn on the Poker chicks. Not going to be pretty.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Hey, Margo, love your avatar! Great minds.... if not a great pick for our team. I am jumping on the Globetrotter team if our girls get the boot.

    ReplyDelete
  66. I will jump on the Globetrotters if that team will have us.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Wow, the globetrotters know that Maria & Tiffany are poker players & Maria & Tiffany already have the notion that Dan & Sam are gay or in the least effeminate men.

    ReplyDelete
  68. How do we know they are gay? Did they say? All I've got is they are brothers.

    Margo

    ReplyDelete
  69. What a nice thing for the man to give his jacket to someone who needs it more.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Yes they are the gay team they came out to each other the same time...

    ReplyDelete
  71. I like the mix racial married couple.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Oh, the next one is herding ducks. That would be one step above herding cats. Sorry, Vincent.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Does the one giving out the next clue look like he is part American, or is it just me?

    ReplyDelete
  74. Wow Laurie your person who knows a person is doing really well.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Really like a 2 hr show at the start helps you learn the team faster...

    ReplyDelete
  76. Ack. Zev and Justin misplaced their clue!

    ReplyDelete
  77. Becky our teams is not doing well I expected more. I hope they make it to next week.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Delee said... Maybe he is French...

    Perhaps he is.

    ReplyDelete
  79. The duck thing looks like it might be funny

    ReplyDelete
  80. Shouldn't they be grabbing a number? If they don't can a later team jump ahead of those who didn't?

    ReplyDelete
  81. Hard to think the show is still going on for all of you. Love the 2 hour premiere plan.

meb and Monty, I hope we make it for a few weeks.

Glad to read the couple representing San Diego is doing well. I hope they are also nice people.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Did anyone else she (Marcy's) white thong? HAHA

    ReplyDelete
  83. The farmer boy is pretty good.

    ReplyDelete
  84. YEA YEA YEA Gary Matt Numero UNO won a kayak? HUH

    ReplyDelete
  85. Daddy/Son made it first! Great! It was Sonny-Boy's duck herding!

    ReplyDelete
  86. Yay! I officially love my team! Gar and Matt WTG

    ReplyDelete
  87. Father and son first, Globetrotters second. Poker chicks have made up the time.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Well my team is now duking it out for last place.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Marcy got her ducks in the corral. YAY!

    ReplyDelete
  90. Yeah, what's up with a kayak as the prize?

    ReplyDelete
  91. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  92. I would have a hard time herding ducks with fear my birds.

    ReplyDelete
  93. @ Margo, Sam & Dan stated that they're gay & wouldn't be telling anyone, that they would be flirting with the girls to get farther in the race.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Meb, Laurie... team #9. We made it!

    ReplyDelete
  95. Love the comment I know what I am having for dinner....poor duckies

    ReplyDelete
  96. Margo and Donna in FL, our Poker Girls did pretty good!

    ReplyDelete
  97. Kinda glad they lost...did you see him push the guy on the bike??!!

    ReplyDelete
  98. Now the Elimination Station vids from CBS begin. Kudos to TAR and CBS for the 2-hour show.

    See everyone Thursday for Survivor.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Yes! We lived to make another leg in the race!! My team may be on the gray side of life but they are still there.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Good show. Is it just me or do the tasks seem harder this year?

I think Lawyer Lance is the only one I really dislike.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Thanks Monty and Becky.

That was sure fun...Thanks for the place to meet Jackie!!!

    ReplyDelete
  102. Oh well, I'm out. I'll have to pick another team to root for.

    ReplyDelete
  103. See some of you tomorrow night for DWTS.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Great show - the Poker chicks made it - yea. I hope they do better next week.

    Margo

    ReplyDelete
  105. Great season premiere!!!

    Loving the Globetrotters!

Not loving the attorney, and glad to see the last team get Philiminated after watching him push the local on the bike. :(

This is one of my happy shows!! Always glad to see it come back for another season...

Margo, I would love to jump in the pool if there is still room!

    ReplyDelete
  106. I think someone likes the poker chicks.
That had to be the all - time easiest speed bump ever!

    ReplyDelete
  107. BOO! I had to miss the show last night due to having a house guest (though that was really great) so I will have to watch it later tonight or tomorrow thank you TIVO!

    ReplyDelete

  109. dla they official pool is closed put you can join which ever team you would like.

FYI I changes the Globetrotters names to the nicknames they seem to be using. Flight Time (Herbert) and Big Easy (Nataniel).

    Margo

    ReplyDelete
  110. haha Sidney, my houseguest knew better than to stick around. =)

    ReplyDelete
  111. Just watch elimination station for the first time. Don't know whether to be happy or sad that the yoga pair weren't there. Does that mean they didn't even get a free vacation out of it? If they returned home right away, wouldn't that tell folks something about how far they got?

    ReplyDelete
  112. Well so much for my hopes of having the winning TAR team again. I really thought they would do better! I have to decide who I want to root for now.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Well, I'm just now watching the show but it didn't take me long to see that Lance is one annoying guy.

I'm in the second hour now, and several people are annoying me but he really takes the cake!

    ReplyDelete
  114. On Monday Night!: Okay, I have to admit, it was more entertaining than I usually find TAR. Loved the "Eat the Wasabi!!" graphics.

The Sexy Sixty couple were filmed playing archery in Golden Gate Park about two blocks from my house (in San Francisco), I recognized it immediately. It's part of the intro sequence.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Marcy and Ron were 9th... almost didn't make it. That was a difficult Japanese challenge since you had no control when the Wasabi would get around to you. Good first episode.

Zoetawny, you've outdone yourself on this graphic. it is really excellent.

    ReplyDelete
  116. Just caught the show last night. Already not liking two of the couples. Like my team though. Sorry about your team Jackie!

    ReplyDelete
  117. Garret and Jessica, who were eliminated in the second hour episode, became engaged immediately after the show. Garrett said he made those remarks at the end of the show ("We're no closer to being engaged now.") to throw Jessica off guard. He had brought the ring with him. They both said they hope that Zev and Justin win.

    This info from People.com.

  119. dla - you can sure hop on board with my team == the brothers Sam and Dan.... would love to have you but if you can PICK you might have others in mind.

    ReplyDelete
  120. Happy that TAR is back, but there are some serious flaws:

1.) STILL NO HD. Come on Amazing Race, this is getting ridiculous.

2.) Like last season, this season is also ONLY THREE CONTINENTS, and one of them is North America!!! For the second straight season no South America, Africa, or Australia. TAR is going on the cheap so bad it's not even funny.

3.) I HATE that TAR caved in and now has people who shouldn't be in these reality competitions. Last season I was TICKED OFF that writer/actor Mike White was on the show. Now we have a former Miss America, pro poker players, and two HARLEM GLOBETROTTERS? Come on now, that's ridiculous!!

4.) TOO many bunching points. Everyone on just about the same flight, or the boats in Vietnam closed until 7am so everyone can catch up. Even the "japanese game show" was a bunching point as it didn't start until ALL teams showed up.

5.) In the first 2 legs, no detours (Where teams have to choose between two equally difficult tasks). What gives??

6.) First leg ended in Japan. Japan is a beautiful country worth visiting. What was the prize for winning that leg? A trip to Aspen. Aspen, CO. Come on. In the history of TAR, only ONCE has the prize been a trip back to the place where the leg ended. It was Hong Kong a few years ago. Otherwise it's not but I think it should be because the teams don't get the chance to enjoy the countries they visit and TAR frankly abuses the locations. The LEAST they could is promote tourism there. Win a leg in the gorgeous country of Mauritius and what do you win? Free trip to Jamaica. Ughhhh!!!!!!

This is the kind of crap that happens when you win every single Reality Competition Emmy and get really lazy. There's always the Emmy to praise the "clean wholesome" show (I dispute this too because they purposely pick teams that show how ugly Americans can be while traveling).

    ReplyDelete
  121. I still love the show. My only complaint this year is the cheapo prizes so far. Maybe they're just saving the good stuff for the later eliminated contestants who would have more time invested in the race. Hope so anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  122. Did anyone notice when Gary (father of father/son team) arrived at the pit stop on that last leg, he had a big smile on his face when told they were first? Then Phil told him they'd won a kayak each and Gary looked at him expectantly waiting for "the rest" and it never came. Then poor Gary looked confused. I think we all were.

    ReplyDelete
  123. Sydney, thanks for the invite! I will hop in the pool with you! I like Sam / Dan, and I will also secretly root for the Globetrotters, as they seemed pretty cool in what we have seen thus far.

Totally agree about the kayaks... I was completely confused! lol
