The Amazing Race - Blog Party Post - 2/28/10 Episode

They're spoiling us so far this season -- the show has started on time each week and we're into the third episode! As the show airs here on the East Coast, I'll update this entry with major events including the Pit Stop order and Philimination (if any). My actual show review will be posted late tonight over on TV Squad. But the real fun (and most information) will be right here in the comments area. Everyone is invited to join in with your thoughts!

Pit Stop -
1. Jet and Cord - won a trip to Patagonia
2. Steve and Allie
3. Carol and Brandy
4. Joe and Heidi
5. Jeff and Jordan
6. Dan and Jordan
7. Brent and Caite
8. Louie and Michael
9. Monique and Shawne -- Philiminated

  1. Yay! Time to root for Caitlin and Brent, my pool people. Have to admit, I'm kind of surprised that they're still in it.

I wondered if the earthquake would be mentioned and it was.

Still rooting for Jordan and Jeff too, tho.

  2. Hey, Jackie! Thanks for opening your home again. How is the weather?

    ReplyDelete
  3. Maybe I spoke too soon. They really look sick. Food poisoning is NOT fun. 3 hour delay for them.

  4. And the gnomes make their appearance.

    ReplyDelete
  5. I'm liking the cowboys--glad I have them in the pool. Of course I'm rooting for Jeff and Jordan too.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Cowboys are unlucky at cards.

    ReplyDelete
  7. We will see how much of a cowboy the cowboys are with the roping!

    ReplyDelete
  8. If the cowboys have any rodeo experience, they could have a real advantage!

    ReplyDelete
  9. Roping steers on the roadblock. Right up the cowboys alley.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Hi Y'all. I brought chewy, rich chocolate brownies that I just made. You can have cool whip or ice cream on top... and yes, all are Fat free!

    ReplyDelete
  11. Amazed more people don't get sick on TAR.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Talk about a tailor made comp for the cowboys!

    ReplyDelete
  13. Hi folks!

That RoadBlock was tailor made for the cowboys.

    ReplyDelete
  14. That couple was really sick. I like the Cowboys and J&J. I have Steve and Alli in the pool.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Hey, Monty, great minds!

    ReplyDelete
  16. Like the cowboy said, he doesn't speak Spanish and didn't complain because the girls do... just happened to be a challenge they could win.

    Liking this challenge.

  18. I don't think the cowboys are expecting wooden horses.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Pit stop is sure fast this time. Something must happen!

    ReplyDelete
  20. Cowboys are funny. Like their sense of humor.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Gee, did they do this challenge so the cowboys would have the advantage? I would of course say no but then was it last season they had three different eps in a country where Chinese was spoken and one couple was/spoke Chinese too?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Not loving Carol and Brandy.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Carol and Brandy, shut up for a minute!

    ReplyDelete
  24. I like Monique and Shawne. I would like to see more of them.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Why O Why after all these seasons of AR does anyone go on the race without knowing how to drive a manuel transmission?

    ReplyDelete
  26. Jeff and Jordan, read your clues!

    ReplyDelete
  27. What are J&J doing wrong?

    ReplyDelete
  28. Awww. I was just saying I'd be pissed off if Brent lassoed it on the first try.And he did. Or his second I guess he said.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Evening all from Sunny Oregon :o) I lost track of time was getting dinner started... hows the show so far going to read comments

    ReplyDelete
  30. Looks like Brent and Caite made up for the time they spent at the hospital. Good for them. It would be a shame if they lost because of a flu bug or something beyond their control.

  31. *sliding in a little late*
Happy end of the weekend, everyone!
I'm still rooting for my lawyer ladies. I think this is the longest I've lasted in the pool and I'm enjoying every minute of it. Thanks for the brownies, Syndey. Love 'em!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Monique and Shawne may be in trouble here.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Those are my pool gals! They gotta get that thing lassoed! Feel so bad for them... she's got to be really tired.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Becky - Jeff and Jordan are bringing the loot to the gunslinger, not the lead bandit.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I have home made chicken alfredo if anyone hasn't had dinner yet :)

    ReplyDelete
  36. mammaroos... I'm in... sounds licious!

    ReplyDelete
  37. (___) heres a bowl of it Meb hope you enjoy it

    ReplyDelete
  38. Oh my gravy...the cowboys did it again!

    ReplyDelete
  39. OH J&J. These people never read the entire clue. Argh!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Food is great! Thanks. Hey, my team is number two. FINALLY Jeff reads the clue! I do not like the two girls who are nasty to each other.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Jeff - "We shouldn't reproduce." Funny!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Thanks, Jackie. Trying to play a game while watching. Not a smart move.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Who was on the wooden horse that tipped over forward?

    ReplyDelete
  44. Jordan is as cute as she is funny.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Yay, Jeff and Jordan still in it.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Jeff and Jordan are safe!

    Caitlin and Brent too!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Darn they showed Monique and Shawne so much this ep because they are leaving... darn.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Gawd, they're gorgeous ladies.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Aw, Monique and Shawne are elim'd.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I have to give the two women a standing O for not giving up. They set a wonderful example for their children. They never were ugly to each other and they hung in there.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Awwwww...poor babies... I really did want them to stay in longer. They were so sweet. Oh well. Now I can really root for Jeff and Jordon.. I hope whoever has them won't mind, but I'm jumping in the water with you guys!

    ReplyDelete
  52. I was hoping for a non-elimination round. Too bad. But Shawne and Monique, you did yourselves proud!

    ReplyDelete
  53. Oh darn, I think I jinxed my team! I really thought they would go further than this. Buh-bye ... does this mean I have to get out of the pool?

    ReplyDelete
  54. Sydney, brownies and ice cream were delish! Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Looks like a good show next week. Back to the olympics. Last night and all! :)

    ReplyDelete
  56. Our pool monitor must be visiting her mama... missed you during this one Margo

    ReplyDelete
  57. Laurie, just jump on someone elses float.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Now to watch the closing ceremonies of the Olympics. Been glued to them for the last 2 + weeks! Anyone else?

    ReplyDelete
  59. Gee, I should read the comments before I leave mine. The Cowboy comment and the Olympic ones were dupes of someone else's. :-/

    ReplyDelete
  60. Yes, we've been watching the Olympics every night. Good stuff!

I think I'll be a pool floater for awhile and serve drinks and food.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Hey y'all - I'm here. I saw a bit of the show the challenges looked like the cowboys would have done them handily. I did not see them doing anything other than running to the mat in first place again. Are we going to do bull riding next week? We have had cow milking - roping. Maybe it will be barrel running.

  64. BACHELOR FINALE TONIGHT!!!

see y'all over at the Bachelor meet up discussion that Jackie set up for us.

    ReplyDelete
  65. YAY! J&J are still in it! The comment about not reproducing was hilarious! The kids would be beautiful tho! Loving the cowboys too!!

    Caela

    ReplyDelete
  66. Jackie, I just wanted to let you know that the main reason TAR is delayed is because of football and football is OVER! That's why it's been on time this season.

    ReplyDelete
  67. I thought it was a good show with some funny moments. At one point Tim said "Only one of those brothers is gay?" I said "Well, that's what they said when they introduced themselves." He laughed and said "Well, one is in denial then". Cracked me up.

I felt bad that my team (and Meb's and Donna in FL) lost but they sure put up a good fight, didn't they? I'm proud of them!

The two women who are five months into their relationship may end it before this is over. They remind me of so many other couples who bicker and fight and play passive-aggressive games with each other. Nothing is really settled or figured out, they just continue to pick at each other. I hate that!

I'm kind of loving the cowboys, though. They are funny and way smarter than they appear to be. I loved that they didn't give any info to the women when they grilled them.

  68. Ah a pretty satisfying bachelor viewing night. If anyone is interested jog on over to the discussion meet up that Jackie put up for us. Ditto Project Runway if anyone hasn't been commenting there....

  69. **DWTS POOL**
Does anyone wanna play for DWTS? We have 11 contestants this year so I need 10 more people to play in the pool with me. Jackie does not watch this show but she is kind enough to set up a discussion post for us.
    Thanks Jackie =)

Let me know if you want in.

Out in Amazing race but I'm rooting for Jeff and Jordon now. Am ready for Carol/Brandy team to leave...don't want to listen to them anymore.

and for survivor I have JT again....he won for me last time.

  73. OT

Left some comments over on Bachelor post in re to my B-day.

  74. OT- DWTS

Jonathan Roberts and Lacey Schwimmer won't be on this season. Karina Smirnoff will only choreograph routines backstage this season. There is one new pro - Damian Whitewood. He's an Australian who won National ballroom and Latin American style championships.

Ashley Costa will be a pro. Apparently, she was on the first three seasons.

The pair-ups are as follows -

    Jake Pavelka and Chelsie Hightower

    Shannen Doherty and Mark Ballas

    Pamela Anderson and Damian Whitewood

    Buzz Aldrin and Ashley Costa

    Kate Gosselin and Tony Dovolani

    Evan Lysacek and Anna Trebunskaya

    Nicole Scherzinger and Derek Hough

    Aiden Turner and Edyta Sliwinska

    Chad Ochocinco and Cheryl Burke

    Erin Andrews and Maksim Chmerkowskiy

Niecy Nash and Louis Van Amstel

Only 11 couples this time around which I think is a good thing.

Evan is the Olympic gold medalist. Nicole is the Pussycat Doll. Aiden is from All My Children. Chad is the football player. Erin is an ESPN sports reporter. Niecy, I only know from Clean House.

  75. Margo- yes yes yes I want to be in on the pool for DWTS!!!!

I can't wait- excited to see Jake- he got a good partner in Chelsea. Edyta is with another ABC soap star again- never heard of him but I always hope she has a chance to win, or at least stick around past the first show. Last season was a bummer for her going out first with Ashley Hamilton. I don't know the figure skater but Anna T. is not my favorite, and I think Evan would have a good chance being a figure skater and gold medal Olympian.

I hope that Pussy Cat doll is good because my favorite thing to watch on DWTS is Derek dancing. So I want him to stick around!

So count me in Margo! Thanks!

  76. Cool I'm excited that you all are excited about DWTS.

I'm glad Ashley is finally back - I think she is the one that got stuck w/Master P. She has since had a baby. The last name is different but I also assume she got married - or took her husbands name after the baby.

  78. Margo, count me in for DWTS.

I will be rooting for #1 Evan

#2 Jake, but I have a feeling he won't be a great dancer. But I gather he's committed to excellence so let's see if his work ethic will make him improve.

    #3 Buzz Aldrin.

#4 I know not many are with me on this, but I'll enjoy seeing Pam Anderson.

ML --The only reason I will tolerate the Pussy Cat Doll is that she is dancing with Derek, lol. Thanks for that little tidbit!

Now for a way to stomach Kate G.
