Big Brother 12 - Clips Episode Blog Party

big brother,jackiestvblog

The show is about to start here on the East Coast. As tonight is the "never seen before footage clips" show, the real fun is in the comments section. Everyone is invited to join in with your thoughts! Later tonight (or, worst case scenario, early in the morning), my full show review will be posted over on TV Squad.

  2. CANNON BALL!!! Hey, Jackie and Merrilee. Looks like the usual 15 minute recap.

    ReplyDelete
  3. lane cracks me up with his wisdom

    ReplyDelete
  4. I forgot, it will be an hour of recaps. Don't know if I can sit through an hour of Rachael.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Every fight involving Rachel was started by one person.

    Rachel.

    What an ass.

    ReplyDelete
  6. With the exception of the final three feasting, I'm not seeing much new ... are you?

    ReplyDelete
  7. I thought this was suppose to be "never seen before" footage

    ReplyDelete
  8. That's just what I was thining, Jackie. Where are the "never sceen before" highlights that they promoted?

    ReplyDelete
  9. hello all

Do you think the zingbot is Jesse?

    ReplyDelete
  10. This seems to be one big recap, Jackie. They coulda put in a better effort. (producers)

  11. Oh boy! I made it (at least for a little bit. Sunday dinner in the oven - anyone for some Roast Beef and mashed potatoes??

    Sue on the left coast

  12. This sounds (so far) like something I may have to miss!

  13. Yawn, why couldn't they just finish it off tonight and leave our Wednesday clear for the bright shiny new Survivor?

Late but I like that my dive has Jackie's name in it! Weee!

I didn't remember the spider incident! WOW (actually, I knew one of the guys would be impressed... and Matt was)

This review kind a reminds me of the last ep of Survivor where they make the final three reminisce... Not my favorite.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Extra Zingbot footage that I could have done without was new. I don't think it's Jesse, but you never know. If it is anyone from BB, they'll tell us Wednesday.

    ReplyDelete
  16. They have miles of unseen footage; you'd think they could come up with about 42 minutes of show. Geez they're lazy.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I was just thinking they like to keep paying Jesse, and it seems like a role he'd take on (annoying). The thing that makes me think he wouldn't is because he wouldn't get to show off his muscles.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I agree Lisanne, they should have finished this tonight.

  20. I'm gonna be 40 next month. Does this mean I'll start crying if I watch Oprah?

    ReplyDelete
  21. I think I'd rather be seeing new clips from the jury house!

    ReplyDelete
  22. The look on Ragan's face was worth the entire season.

No- you're going to cry because you turned 40.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Ok, after seeing Rachel come back into the house with her "I'm back..." comment and then telling Ragan he has to be nice to her. Anyone thinking she didn't walk in with an attitude lives in a different reality than I do!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Thanks Merilee! I'll keep that in mind and stock up on tissues!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Argh -- they left out the most important part, where he says to LEARN FROM IT!!!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Ragan doin' Rachel's laugh was honestly the biggest laugh for me of 2010 watching TV.

    Seriously!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Was that the only time that Rachel got out-talked?

    ReplyDelete
  29. ML--

I am not sure if you saw my reply to you last post. Didn't mean to be secretive or anything. I was just trying to set up a way we all could chat about Bachelor Pad this last week and next week since it seems the old meet up link can't go up again.

I have everyone's e-mail but yours of who was over there and we've just done a few group e-mail chats --Meb, Nana in the NW, Sasha, Dla and me... Just wondered if you want to join in for this final week. No worries if not. :-D

  30. The clips they showed of Rachel and Brendon just reinforce my dislike for them. On the other hand, the Brit/Lane clips and the dancing segments were fun to see again.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I think so JoyN. Right from the get go when he said she was disgusting (when he said he'd be honored if she didn't vote for him) you could see he hit her soft spot.

It's all a hot mess though.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Orkmommy -- that's exciting! My 40th was my best decade turner b-day ever!

    ReplyDelete
  33. I missed all the that's what she said's too.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Hey--New footage. They heard us.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Funny, it's like they made them switch rooms and talk about different parts of the show. First dinner, then the kitchen/wall, then the HOH room, now the spa room.....

    ReplyDelete
  36. I don't feel 40! Miss Olivia keeps me young!!

    ReplyDelete
  37. I'm reminded that Ragan did not come clean with the jury about being the saboteur.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Rachel looks like such a pouty little brat when she makes that 'mean' face! I'd have to laugh in her face!!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Did anyone ever even suspect Ragan of being the Saboteur? I never heard anyone mention him as a possibility.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Jimmy - I bet BB wouldn't let him. They're probably saving that for the finale.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Oh, Rachel, we're not living in your world, we'reliving in what we like to call REALITY! When your ready to join us, you can check in at the front desk!!!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Funny. She never walked away from Ragan; but she walked away from Brendon.

Rachel: we're sorry you are who you are, too.

    ReplyDelete
  43. ORK--That could be. I thought his big admission (that he's a professor) was no big deal.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Ragan was never a saboteur suspect

    ReplyDelete
  45. ORKMommy, I turned 40 two years ago and haven't looked back. Of course, I find it amusing that I'm of this age now. The day I turned 40, I walked around all day telling people "I'm 40!" and laughing. Maybe senility was starting to set in?

    ReplyDelete
  46. Oh, man...you folks are young.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Sally- thanks for your comment a few posts back. Glad you'll be joining us for some of the shows going forward. I have a hard time watching them eats stuff and I don't like seeing them kill anything from rats to chickens (I do animal rehab) but I LOVE SURVIVOR! Been watching religiously from the first. TAR I have only watched for the last three seasons... don't know how I missed it.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Olivia keeps asking when Survivor is coming on! This kid loves her some Survivor! She can't wait until Wednesday!!

    ReplyDelete
  49. Can someone tell me what it was that Jesse announced on Jokers earlier? I have tried to go back and find it but it must be buried now.

Fresh margaritas and home made guacamole and chips for the person who can produce that! Or thick, chewy , frosted chocolate brownies -- or both!

    ReplyDelete
  50. Jackie--You were just supposed to go with it :)

    ReplyDelete
  51. ahhhh the light bulb just went on over britney's head.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I wonder if Brit does this to her hair and nails outside of the house or if it's a nervous reaction to being in the game this long. Did she do it in the first few weeks?

    ReplyDelete
  53. Enzo was totally smug when they told Brit about the BG. Lane looked embarassed. Why couldn't they wait for Hayden? I just don't like the way they made a joke about it when they told her. Why didn't they all sit her down and just come clean in an adult way?

    ReplyDelete
  54. I was hoping to see the shirts they made...or did they air that in a show I missed/

    ReplyDelete
  55. See all of you Wednesday!

    ReplyDelete
  56. Jimmy B-- I'm with Jackie, lol

    ReplyDelete
  57. Sydney--I won't tell anyone.

    ReplyDelete
  58. They only thing that made that NOT be a total waste of time was being here at your blog Jackie and with all these fabulous commenters.

Looking forward to Wednesday! I hope you ALL come over for Survivor or TAR or both folks!!

    ReplyDelete
  59. did BB ever announce the two people in the house that were previous friends or relatives ?

    ReplyDelete
  60. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Anon - There never was two with a previous relationship -- it was a saboteur lie

    ReplyDelete
  62. I missed the entire show, but I'm watching it now. I have a strange hunch that the Zingbot is Evel Dick. He came in and woke them all up... AGAIN! It wasn't pots and pans, but some of the zings reminded me of something that ED would have said. Brendon's girlfriend all silicone, Britney engaged to her brother, Hayden and Beiber's hair. I can't wait to see who it is. :)

Orkmommy, 40 is the easy one. My hard one was 30 and they've all been a blast since that one. I'm pushing the downhill side to 50 so take it from one 40 year old to another (or close in your case), you only get better with age. :)

See everyone back here on Wednesday night.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Orkmommy, don't worry, 40 won't hurt. 40 IS the new 30 and I've never felt better since then! Though I will admit I had a dream earlier this month that I was carded...and the hostess thought my ID was fake because I couldn't POSSIBLY be as much as the age on it!
    Have a wonderful birthday...embrace it!

Rachel is in her own little universe I think...

    Witt :)

  65. Sorry about sending that twice...I got an error message when I sent it the first time, I should have checked whether or not it went through!

I think Kristin left at the right time...otherwise Hayden may not have kept his eyes (though how can he see through that hair?) on the prize.

    Witt :)

    ReplyDelete
  66. That definitely WAS brutal. LOL. There had to have been better footage than that.

Well, making them wait until Wednesday better be worth it. I hope Regan and some of the others come clean. Not just Regan being the sabatour, but what about the prized some of the people took. Hayden in particular. LOL

Let's get this over with. I'm anxious for Survivor.

    ReplyDelete
  67. oops, I forgot to sign my name again to the last one.

Sydney, don't know if you will see this, but somehow I heard or read that Britney didn't do any of the nervous picking at herself before the show. Not sure my source, but I think it may have been something Britney herself said either on the show or BBAD. Of course that doesn't mean she didn't always do it, just that she denied it.

I know I'm in the minority, but I don't care--I love Brit and Lane. Some may call him Lame, but I think (and hope) that he's playing dumb, lol.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Hey, Jackie! You are YOUNG! ( 'Cuz we're the same age!)

Orkmommy, you'll survive 40. You'll just start noticing little aches that weren't there before.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Ork: 50 gets a bit tougher as the menopause tends to hit then or a few years later. But , I would never go back in time as I would not want to relive some of those years over again. All in all, I am content at my age, I just wish the gray hair and wrinkles and menopause would slow down a bit. LOL

  72. Hi Jackie. thank again for your review as the captions were very bad for me this time and had trouble knowing what was said but I think I did not miss much with out it.

SHARON S. I think Jesse ego is too big to fit in the zinbot, I thought it might be Andrew but hope we find out soon.
Thank Jackie and hope you get some well desirved rest. Take care all. Joey

    ReplyDelete
  73. Caroline

    yes the fifties are harder
as far as looking back at 40, I can't see well enough another lovely thing that happens as you age, ha!
the zen bot could not have been jessie, he is way too big
could certainly be and probably was a past guest, maybe dan
enzo is working both hayden and lane to take him, as he should be doing.

    ReplyDelete
  74. by the way brendon is ahead of britney in the polls for the 25k

    ReplyDelete
  75. Chris - it depends on which poll you look at. They're about even on all the polls I've seen.

    All - I'm not worried about 40. It's just a number!!

    ReplyDelete
  76. I'm late to the show as usual. I have to say it reminded me of how nasty I think Ragan is. I know a lot of people think Rachel deserved it but I think in that moment Ragan was everything he says he hates and from what I read, he was that way more than just in that moment.

I found Rachel annoying, particularly her laugh, from the beginning but I can't applaud Ragan for his behaviour either. What an example for a "professor" to set.

I'm still voting for Brendon, I don't think he's responsible for Rachel's actions and I think he played well. Britney is just not for me, whether that's a popular opinion or not.

Usually by the jury house the HG's have put or are putting things in perspective but this year the jury house seems inflammatory...and as usual, more interesting than the house. I know they tried by keeping all three in the last week but it hasn't helped much IMO.

    I can't stand ragan either
I mentioned one other time, i think rachel pushes all his buttons from his childhood and I think rachel was looking for him to accept her and when he didn't she just got worse.
early on they were friendly and then it all changed.
he spent way too much time hating on rachel
I do however like britney, not sure why
I also like lane and reading the 8 second rule thing made me ill but i just can't believe he would actually do it.
if so that is just awful

    ReplyDelete
  78. "40 is the new 30."

I couldn't disagree with this statement more. I know that believing this statement can make getting older easier for some, but 40 is and always will be just 40. Just a number. And I'm someone in their 40's. You might miss some of the qualities associated with youth, but if you're happy with yourself, that's enough.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Chris,

Lame has said quite a few things on the show (like the 8 second game, stories about picking girls up, barfighting, etc.) that went unchallenged in or outside of the house.

I'm never sure why one person gets a pass (like this) over another, and manages to remain popular.

Imagine if Brenden had said or done these same things...

I'm not hating on Lame. I have a cousin who is just like him who is also an ex-football player and has done some heinous things. My cousin has managed to avoid both criminal prosecution and has always been embraced by the community.

It's one of those facts of life that I recognize, but I will never understand.

    -Ben

    ReplyDelete
  80. I voted for Andrew to be player of the game because he did make a bold move and none of the rest of them really did. That speech of his was priceless and really changed the game. I don't think Rachel would have gone after Kristin quite so much if Andrew hadn't spilled the beans about Kristin and Andrew.

    ReplyDelete
  81. What is this 8 second game thing? I must have missed it. I'm voting for Brit for the $25K for several reasons, not the least of which is that she was the last girl standing. The females really got picked off quickly this season!

    ReplyDelete
  82. I don't think anyone changed their opinions after last night's ep..

    Random thoughts:

More than one of the HGs are living in their own world/reality:

    Rachel- Vegas
    Lane/Hayden- School/ Sports/parents support
    Ragan- West Hollywood/University
    Brenden- School
    Brit-Parents/Pageants/Sorority/Nick

All the above bubbles are very insulating and tend to create a skewed worldview.

Strangely, for where they ended up in popularity and in the game, Kathy, Enzo, and Andrew were/are probably the most 'grounded' or based in the real world due to their combinations of families, jobs and life experience.

The only thing I felt the ep. did accomplish was to help Brit because the replay of her being told can only serve to help her gain votes toward the 25K, while at the same time hurting Enzo.

Other than that, VERY meh episode.

    Come on SURVIVOR!

    -Ben

  83. RBennie,

8 seconds 'refers to the length of time a bull rider is required to stay on for a ride to be scored'.

It is also a game that Lane's friends play (according to Lane) when a boy and a girl are having sex and all the guy's friends break in to the couple's room at the same time, the boy then tries to stay on the girl for 8 seconds while the girl attempts to get the boy off of her, as in bullriding. (The number of seconds may have been shorter in the game, but the premise is the same.)

    The discsussion was on BBAD.

    -Ben

    ReplyDelete
  84. Chris or whoever knows--what is the 8 second rule or game that Lane mentioned? I must have missed it??
    Thanks,
    Sasha

    ReplyDelete
  85. Thanks, Ben. I'm with you Chris...appalling. But to me it all fits with that frat boy mentality that I hated when I was in my 20's and still can't stand today. Oh well.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Thanks for the explanation Ben. I'm kind of sorry I asked, LOL. What a truly disgusting game! I don't believe that Lane does even half the crap he talks about.

    ReplyDelete
  87. the 8 second thing was gross
I don't think most of us believe Lane would really be like that.
The guy was truly Brits friend, he felt bad about her being ousted and outing the brigade to her.
Does not seem to fit the personality of someone who would do horrible things without giving a crap.
we don't know him but I can hope he is not that
as far as 40 being the new 30, it isnt and neither is 50 the new 40, it is still 50 with all the aging that goes along with it, ha
    to anon

andrew did make a bold move, but what got kristen on rachels radar was kristen pitting brendon and rachel against each other in the hoh that immediately followed.
she(rachel) felt targeted and attacked. prior to that brachel were attempting to work with hay and kristen. that ended that.
i voted and will continue to vote for Brit for many reasons.

    ReplyDelete
  88. People please get over this obsession with Rachel. one thing for sure I bet when she get's a chance to read this blog, she'll be hoping the rest of the TV producers and other talk show host will be talking about her, perhaps enough to want her on their shows because thats the way to get real attention (ACT A FOOL) as she did, why else did Evil Dick and Dr Will make such an impact on the game. Evil Dick was one of the most vile people I've ever seen, however everyone loved him, Rachel hasn't been half as bad. No one will want to see any of these other boring hampsters ever again, but I bet people here will still be talking about Rachel way after this season is finished, she left the house three or four weeks or more ago, and she is still the topic of almost everyone 's conversation. I didn't and still don't care for her so she's out of my life and thoughts. I hope to never hear her name again. I didn't and still don't like Britney, so I won't harp on her either.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Ummmm...the recap show was just on. Seems like the reason any of us are mentioning past houseguests. Chill.

    ReplyDelete
  90. It is true that Rachel will be remembered more than any other house guest. I think Regan was far more disgusting than Rachel, although they are BOTH rude and crude. Still, this is the worst season ever.

    ReplyDelete
  91. I'll never quite get the comparisons between Evel Dick (correct spelling) and Rachel. His behavior, although outrageous; was part of his strategy. Which apparently worked--he won.

Rachel's behavior is simply who she is. And that speaks for itself.

In any case, she was a great source of entertainment this season.

    ReplyDelete
  92. This was my original point. Even though Lame tells these stories about himself and friends, people don't necessarily want to believe them. MAYBE, he is just telling wild stories, but we can only go by what he has said. But even if they are just 'stories', why does that make even telling them ok?

Frankly, I think that all of it says as much about society as it does Lane.

    -Ben

    ReplyDelete
  93. Big brother is supposed to have fights. When it doesn't it's boring. That's why the show was way more boring when Rachel left. We need personalities and fights and blow ups.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Ben, as usual, I agree. I hadn't heard the 8 second thing before seeing it here and it is disgusting on all levels. Many of the things Lane says are funny at the time, but I am starting to think it's not just an act or prompted, and does not belie who he really is.

Sasha @10:44 I totally agree with your assessment of all those hamsters. I, too, am voting for Brendon. Btw, I think I'm finally on board for Bachelor Pad tonight!
    ML

    ReplyDelete
  95. I lived in Vegas for 17 years and none of my friends are anything like Rachel. She is not "Vegas". She provokes fights to get more air time. She never counted on Ragan out doing her. The other house guests have stated she comes up after and says sorry but you know it was all for TV.

    ReplyDelete
  96. YAY, ML!! Welcome to Bachelor Pad. I can't believe it's already the finale and that I even care LOL. I'll have to watch it tomorrow night since I have rehearsal tonight. See ya in the email :)
    Sasha

    ReplyDelete
  97. BJ,

When I wrote 'Vegas', I was referring to living/working/existing and basically self-identifying solely within the glizty facade that most people flash on when the city is mentioned. I was also defining and limiting that definition of 'Vegas' under Rachel's terms(not necessarily yours), and certainly NOT with any further application towards other residents, past or present.

Any offense you may have taken from it was unintentional.

    -Ben

    ReplyDelete
  98. I'm appalled, but that's not new, I'm usually the one with my mouth hanging open saying "What? They did what?"
I might just go smack my college aged kid once and talk about that "game". No, wait, I'll wait until I have him hostage on a car ride.

I have to admit that (during the replay last night) when Rachel realized that she was the bad thing released on the house via Pandora's, I did feel a tiny bit bad for her.
It was actually painful to watch Britney go through the Brigade reveal again.

You'll slow down a bit toward the mid-end of your 40s, especially if you still have under-20 kids around, but other than that, it's ok. I'm enjoying my 50s more though :)

    ReplyDelete
  99. The clips they're showing in recaps of Britney being told of the brigade and non-use of the veto are shortened versions of what took place. All three guys felt bad for her and all three guys made wise cracks after she left the room. But in all they seemed to really feel bad that she took the news so hard. Just sayin'.

    ReplyDelete
  100. In the new issue of Entertainment Weekly mag, when Allison Grodner was asked to explain the 6% increase in viewership this season, replied, "It's a nice bunch to watch. They are easy to root for, somewhat smart, and there's no one extremely hateable who makes you want to turn off the TV." She gives a lot of credit to Enzo Palumbo, the 32 year old insurance adjuster from New Jersey who could be the man to beat heading into the two-hour finale. "He's playing the best social game," says Grodner. "He founded the Brigade, everybody in the house likes him, and he's been very savvy."

    OT

Also in the mag, a quote from Jeff Probst on the Medallion of Power (something new)."The Medallion of Power is designed to give you power at challenges," explains Probst. "And the twist is that if you use it, the other tribe can use it at the next challenge."

    ReplyDelete
  101. I've read in several places that in this season of Survivor the comps will be far less physical.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Jackie, Thanks for another great year! Question, I just saw on Facebook that they are going to reveal the "truth" about the life-long friend twist in the Wednesay finale. Any thoughts??? Was it just a motivator or were there really life-long friends in the house? And if so, who?

    ReplyDelete
  103. Once again, the Brigade reveal was more brutal in the CBS edit then waht actually went down. Joyn is correct in her assessment, and if I remember correctly, she and I were both watching it play out live and commented on it as it was going down.

The 8 second thing was discussed twice, that I know of. Once was teasing Enzo about he and his wife getting back together after a summer apart, and Enzo said that he couldn't do that. He would be divorced. He also commented that it was akin to rape. Anyway, I think its a bunch of crap if guys actually do that to a women/girlfriend, but I think Lane is also a lot of big Texas blow hard talk. JMO

Anyone want to start a poll about who is the Zingbot? I think its Evel Dick. Any thoughts out there?

    ReplyDelete
  104. I go back and fourth about Enzo but I agree he has been the most entertaining person on the show.
    Lame~~~~NOT EVEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  105. Yes, from all I've read I also think they boys handled the reveal as admirably as they could and were/are genuine in their affection for Britney and their empathy for her situation.
It was just painful to watch her nervous/avoidance picking and biting and watching the realization in her eyes, especially the second time around when I knew it was coming.

One time I found pictures on our computer (sent to my son)of local teens at a party that someone was e-mailing around to all the kids. All I can say is that since seeing is believing I've taken stuff like that 8 second thing as possible/probable. Ouch! My eyes still hurt from those pics.

ED is a good candidate for the Zingbot. You think that get-up might be too hoky for him though?
It's more of a Howie that way, but I don't think he'd still be around to do it.

    ReplyDelete
  106. The Zingbot's thighs and hips were very narrow. More like ED than Howie.

    ReplyDelete
  107. zingbot could be a woman too
    natalie ugh
    lydia
seems ed would have said meaner things

    ReplyDelete
