Tonight's show won't air here in the NYC viewing area until after the Jets game (which started at 7 PM). So, they're saying 10 PM, but who knows? There are sites online with the east coast feed, so that might work. Anyway, I'm getting this post itself up on time and ask folks to give brief updates if the show is airing on time in your area.

I still think it is amazing that people insist on calling Brendon abusive and Jeff awesome. I admit Brendon is a bit creepy. But they really do a lot of the same things. Jeff has a certain charm about it, but he does toy with Jordan's (pick a word) naivete/ignorance/lack of sophistication like when he had Shelly do the mock interview of Jordan. Does he love her? Yes. But Brendon loves Rachel also.

ReplyDeleteOne thing none of you have mentioned about the broadcast is Rachel mentioning how much she missed "little Brendan" in front of Jeff and Jordan and maybe Shelly while they were cleaning up after the HoH competition. I'm sure it went right over Jordan's pretty little head, but usually when men refer to "little (insert name)" they're referring to something other than themselves, a special part of their anatomy so to speak. In short I think she's missing Brendan's penis.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure why everyone is so hypersensitive here lately. I mean telling Brendon his girlfriend is pregnant when they are separated is mean, but hardly slander. The worst thing about it, in my mind, is that it is a pointless lie. If Brendon were in the house and Rachel in jury, then telling Brendon the lie might serve a game purpose. Telling Brendon in the jury house is just mean for the sake of being mean. A "better" lie from a strategic standpoint would be for Dani to tell Rachel that she kissed/had sex with Brendon in the house. That would totally cause a Rachel melt down, if she believed it. Mean, but at least mean in service of the game. The Brendon lie is just mean to be mean.
ReplyDeleteThat said, I don't know that BB should care or get involved. They have clear lines about physical confrontations and personal property (remember the Jen/ED cigarette massacre), but they have no policy on lies. Heck, the game is built on lies.
Petals, I agree Brendon is icky (I say creepy) but I just don't think that makes it ok to go over the top on him. And I agree Jeff is charming, but I just don't think that makes it ok to overlook all his flaws. Consider my middle name "balance" for the duration!
As for the "kids", Petals. It was just a kid. Willie stayed home. WE had to drive an hour to get to the lake and if Willie didn't get along with the 2 dozen Newfoundlands it was going to be a quick return trip. Keira loved the whole day and played hard, swam hard, and crashed hard on the way home.
I also do not understand Shelly telling J/J that her only goal is to get THEM to the finals. It doesn't make any sense and I can't tell whether J/J at all believe her. It's probably a finalist for worst lie in BB history. I mean Shelly didn't know they were going to be in the house when she signed on, so how could that possibly be her goal.
ReplyDeleteDo we actually know that Shelly is this rich business woman? I mean she might run her own business. She might be making money at it. But a lot of businesses, even fairly large ones, don't generate huge amounts of cash. I don't know, just asking.
Besides, I think a lot of people go on BB (and Survivor) just for the challenge and the chance at money. The money becomes a bigger goal for them as the game goes on because they can smell it. But if you look at most BB or Survivor casts, there are generally only a couple people playing hard to win from the outset. I actually think that's why it sometimes appears "unfair" to people when vets are thrown into the mix. The vets are always playing from the outset. I mean look at Survivor. Rob won because he was playing from day one and half his alliance NEVER started playing.
I think BB is often the same. You get a few people (the Dr. Will, ED, Nakomis, Janelles, Brenchel) who play hard from the outset. The "floaters" are really people who don't have an end game early and are in it for the challenge/experience etc. initially.
Interesting points made, Joe in NY. How could anyone be surprised that Evel Dick's daughter is showing mean girl traits? You are right about showing game play and telling Brendan wouldn't do much...but forget the Brendan part, look at what her rumor is doing inside the house. It never has to get to Brendan to be effective in causing drama with the hamsters.
