Survivor South Pacific Season Premiere Blog Party

Survivor South Pacific

Yep, it's here -- a new season of Survivor! That way too cool Zoetawny made us a new blog logo for the season and Margo is running the blog pool.

The pool participants are as follows (randomly picked by Margo's Mom) --

Upolu Tribe
Albert - Jennasmom, Margo
Brandon - Zoetawny, Keith
Christine - JOEY, Ed
Edna - Glenn, Monty 924
Mikayla - Rbennie, Becky,
Rick - SueGee, Auntie Leigh
Sophie - Jackie, Delee,
Stacey - meb, Sharon S
Coach - Donna in AL, ML

Savaii Tribe
Dawn - PDXGranny, lynn1
Elyse - Buzzmaam
Jim - Pam, DKNYNC
John - Caraleigh, Nana in NW,
Keith - Terry in PA, Dora M
Mark - Lisanne, Donna in FL
Semhar - Sydney, Laurie
Whitney - Karen in CA, Lorraine
Ozzy - Teri, Petals

As the show airs here, I'll update this post with major events. The real fun is in the comments area -- please join us there!

Survivors ready?

Ozzy is on Savaii, Coach on Upolu chosen by ink colors in random eggs pick.

Redemption Island is going to work just like last season.

Hero challenge -- Ozzy against Coach. It's physical, wanna bet who wins? The reward for the winning tribe is "terra" (sp?) -- like potatoes and flint.

Shocker! Ozzy wins and his tribe was a big help. Coach's tribe just confused him on the puzzle.

Christine already put a target on her back by calling Coach and Ozzy "temporary" and then going off immediately to search for the hidden idol.

Meanwhile, the retired NYPD detective is gay. Interesting!

Immunity challenge coming!

Upolu wins immunity and Semhar probably sealed her fate. Very close.

For his own reasons, Ozzy is pushing for Cochran to go instead of Semhar. We'll see.

Tribal Council time ... time to tally the votes:

Cochran
Semhar
Semhar
Semhar
Semhar
Semhar

YAY! Cochran stays!

Even Ozzy voted her out after pushing for her to stay. The vote was unanimous with the exception of her vote for Cochran. Good.

  1. Hi gang.

    Personally, I think those are two of the creepiest form contestants.

  2. *hugging Margo, she knows why)

    YAAAYYYYY!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  3. I mean I kind of like them both, but there is something a little off about each of them.

    ReplyDelete
  4. {{{Joe}}}

    *~*~*~*~ cannonball ~*~*~*~

    ReplyDelete
  5. Sorry, Petals, I know Creepy Ozzy is your boy! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  6. Can't believe I'm on Coach's team. Eeek! Oh well... gotta go with what your given, so let's go Stacey... Sharon S. I think we have our work cut out for us... well Stacey does anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Petals got Ozzy! YAAAYYYYY!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  8. oh no. Joe, you are always "anti" whoever I love. Hmmmm

    S'ok. More fun.

    I am giddy!

    ReplyDelete
  9. I like Jeff. But I still think Cat Deeley is just the best host of any of these shows.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Petals, I'm not anti-Ozzy. It's not that I don't like him, there is just something a little creepy about him, or just a little off. Like he's got some kind of mild social disorder or something.

    ReplyDelete
  11. If they filmed this after Rob won, that'll make it tougher on Ozzy and Coach.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Hey everyone. --------->

    I'll be in and out of Survivor. New puppy to take care of. Isn't he a sweetheart? His name is Joey! <3

    ReplyDelete
  13. Brilliant, Little Hantz. You're going to hide your name when it's tatooed all over your body...you'll be the only South Pacific survivor wearing turtle necks

    ReplyDelete
  14. Ozzy looks funny with hair that long!

    ReplyDelete
  15. see, that's stupid. She just makes herself a target for the veteran

    ReplyDelete
  16. Good for Cochran. He's a fan boy!

    ReplyDelete
  17. See, something odd about Ozzy.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Monty....just adorable!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Monty, congrats!!!

    He's a cutie! And you named him after ME!!! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  20. severe thunderstorms here, hope we dont lose our TV !!!

    ReplyDelete
  21. this looks like a cake walk for ozzy

    ReplyDelete
  22. omg, This is OZZY's to win!

    ReplyDelete
  23. I think I have Christine in the pool (unless there is more thsn one Ed).

    Trouble is she just shot herself in the foot with calling the vets 'temporary'

    I was hoping for Whitney but I guess Christine will have to do.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Monty - that is a cute puppy!!

    ReplyDelete
  25. thats my boy - he's an effin monkey when it comes to climbing.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Terry - I would flip if my power went out during this... Hope you dont lose it. :)

    ReplyDelete
  27. I don't know what they were telling Coach there.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Temporary players??? She just made a big mistake!

    ReplyDelete
  29. LOL, Joe. Not really... he's named after Joey Votto of the Cincinnati Reds! ;)

    He's sound asleep now so maybe I can clean up the kitchen and sit down to watch the show.

    ReplyDelete
  30. What a great start!
    *drink*

    ReplyDelete
  31. I am on Coach's tribe, but I am pulling for Ozzie. I like his tribe at the challenge better too.

    ReplyDelete
  32. see, that's just rude. Why would they dis one of their own that way? It just creates a rift in the tribe.

    ReplyDelete
  33. It's always so "iffy" in the beginning, trying to learn all the new players and their personalities.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Monty, is that a Boston?

    ReplyDelete
  35. meb - I completely agree! Coach is a liability. I do admit it seems like he might have had a dose of humility before he left home. Is it too much to ask it lasts through his stay?

    ReplyDelete
  36. Becky - I can re-dub the boat "OzFest", hehehe

    (kidding, think it will stay Miss chevious)

    Ozzy's hair. Not even gonna go there.

    ReplyDelete
  37. that's my Aqua Ozzy. :)

    ReplyDelete
  38. OK.. now I feel sorry for Coach. That was mean... whether they like him or not... they were the ones telling him how to do the puzzle.. they should be made at themselves. Hope he can recover.

    ReplyDelete
  39. meb, I agree. They were very rude to him, he deserves more respect than that. Makes me cheer for him, too.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Sharon S.. he's good for some laughs at least... let's root for him to stay and see what he can do... at least he has some experience.. more than anyone else on that team..., and yes, the word was meant to be 'mad' ...

    ReplyDelete
  41. Thanks Petals.. I'm sure you're rooting for Coach... with I Love Ozzy everywhere to be seen. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  42. I like the "older" tribemates, like cowboy guy. And that saucy check, that is looking for firewood.

    And ozzy.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Ed in OH - Oh no...you have Christine, and while I admire her savvy, I think she is a bit of a liability.

    ReplyDelete
  44. see, Christine's just dumb. She throws down on Coach/Ozzy in the first minute then abandons the tribe to go idol hunting.

    I'm betting Coach's team wins immunity, though. They're using Christine as a red herring.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Mark is OK, but we've already had one "bear" (Hatch) winner.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Wow Nerd dude is really white, he is going to fry! Why would you not build a tan before you go! I bet the bugs will love him too!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Can't say much for Ozzie saying "let's swim" instead of getting a shelter built.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Bob Marley? Nope,wrong guy - that is your medical grass dealer, LOL

    ReplyDelete
  49. Coach's team actually seems more together at this point. Ozzy's crew seems to be partying too much early.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Oh, and I felt sorry for Coach. There is no excuse for rudeness his team showed him.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Becky - that's part of the charm of Ozzy. He is a waterbaby.

    @ everyone - is my avatar too annoying, visually? Seriously...s'ok. I dont want to be annoying.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Joe, I agree with you about Coach's team being more together in getting the work done.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Back, finally. Yes Petals, he's a Boston Terrier. My s/o has had two of them before this one, and he's always wanted another one. He met him last night, and we brought him home today. :)

    I have no idea what is going on, LOL. I'll have to watch it later to catch up on everything.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Coach is surprising me a bit....

    ReplyDelete
  55. Monty - that face (Joey's) is adorable!

    Awww - *sigh* Ozzy is so sweet.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Ozzie's got that pirate thing going...looking good!

    ReplyDelete
  57. Hi Sharon - yes! I need to calm-down a bit. I am having Ozzy-overload.

    *chilling, composing myself*

    ~~~~deep breath ~~~~
    ReplyDelete
  58. Do we know if Evel Dick is going to make an appearance tonight?
    ReplyDelete
  59. I've taken a dislike to Brandon (Russell's nephew) because he's taken a dislike to Mikayla for being too much of a temptation. Ihave a feeling he'd be comfortable if she were wearing a burka.
    ReplyDelete
  60. Brent - My thought exactly!
    ReplyDelete
  61. Brent - he inherited his uncle's appreciation for the ladies...LOL
    ReplyDelete
  62. Brent, I thought his comment was uncalled for too.
    ReplyDelete
  63. Coach has always drove me nuts. I could not stand him before.... now he is my pool pick!
    They were rude to him and I kinda felt sorry for him.
    ReplyDelete
  64. LOL, Petals - both avatars are perfect. I kind of like Ozzy's long hair. It's gorgeous!
    ReplyDelete
  65. Monty - I'll *drink* to that!
    Donna - Coach is fun to watch, at least you have that....
    This is like the Ozzy show (so far)
    ReplyDelete
  66. Brandon has old Southern Baptist ways of thinking! I am one so I can say that!! Although, that is not how I believe!
    ReplyDelete
  67. "Ozzy releases his coconuts"...sounds like a euphemism, LOL
    ReplyDelete
  68. That bearded bear is goin home.
    ReplyDelete
  69. Petals - I don't think so. I think Semhar is useless and they probably think so, too.
    ReplyDelete
  70. You think Petals? I think one of the girls is going to go....
    ReplyDelete
  71. ~~Splash~~ Better late than never?? Trying to do this on a patched together system so I might not be here too long
    SueGee on the left coast
    ReplyDelete
  72. I don't think it will be Papa Bear, I think it will be the one who wanted to be a basket shooter because "that's a big basket" who failed to deliver. Don't SAY you can do something if you are not 100% sure. Say I will give it my all, but not I know I can do that.
    ReplyDelete
  73. So far, Coach hasn't displayed his freaky side that annoyed me so much in other seasons. If he stays like this, I might be able to put up with him.
    ReplyDelete
  74. Petals - I'm betting on Semhar going home, even though Ozzie likes her and she's got some woodcraft. Jim's right, she needed to contribute more in the area that she specifically stated she wanted to do.
    ReplyDelete
  75. Yeah, Jackie - I kinda get that feeling now, too.
    I hope they don't lose Chochran. He may be good at puzzles...
    And Jackie - that tall drink of water is on the red team with Ozzy (eye candy)
    ReplyDelete
  76. Jackie, I think Semhar too!
    ReplyDelete
  77. UPALU, UPALU, UPALU!~
    ReplyDelete
  78. did the red team hear Jeff say that? they can go ahead & look @ their camp, too.
    ReplyDelete
  79. oops - the idol clue, i mean
    ReplyDelete
  80. Drama queens are 1st to go. You guys are right - buh bye Semhar.
    ReplyDelete
  81. Sucking at challenge...bad!
    Causing drama in the tribe...worse!
    ReplyDelete
  82. She's right... she didn't do well! And she should go home I think, but Dawn, the older lady, is also in jeopardy. I think Ozzy has his work cut out for him with his tribe.
    ReplyDelete
  83. I was expecting BB at 9 p.m. EST.
    :<
    ~~~

    ReplyDelete
  84. hmm. Back to my 1st choice of Papa bear (perfect name, Becky)

    PS - Ozzy is not gonna "snuggle" with anyone ('cept me, maybe - psychokinetically *wink*)

    ReplyDelete
  85. Does Ozzy purposely walk in front of the camera with his junk out?

    ~~~
    ReplyDelete
  86. I like the geek, no well suited for Survivor but give him a chance!
    ReplyDelete
  87. ---, BB comes on at 8:30 tonight. At least that is what TV Guide said.
    ReplyDelete
  88. Petals, they may not have hid the clue at the red camp yet. Although they can look if they want...might find the idol by accident. Sometimes they hide it in the middle of the path! LOL
    ReplyDelete
  89. My player of the week... Mikayla.
    Looks like Ozzie prefers to keep Semhar. Aaaarrggh!
    ReplyDelete
  90. No fair... I like Cochran... that would stink if he went instead of Semar... Is Ozzy still in a relationship? Or is he looking for one.
    ReplyDelete
  91. Petals - That "tall drink of water" also has a pacemaker. He has to watch physical contact.
    ReplyDelete
  92. BB follows Survivor, so it's 9:30 my time... 8:30 your time sounds right Becky.
    ReplyDelete
  93. Becky - 9:30 PM ET/PT is the start of Big Brother. You live in that odd time zone! ;-)
    ReplyDelete
  94. Dang, it is thundering here!!
    We better not get a bad one that knocks out the satelite!! Please not tonight!!
    ReplyDelete
  95. Jax - Oh yeah...Hope that won't hurt him later.
    BB Final is next?? I am nearly spent!
    ReplyDelete
  96. I like Cochran too ... he's like a new age Woody Allen.
    ReplyDelete
  97. Ha ha Jackie... IMHO, 7-10pm is the best "prime" time!! LOL
    ReplyDelete
  98. I'm not sure what Ozzy's deal is. Cochran is not James...but how is he weaker than Samar?
    ReplyDelete
  99. meb - Ozzy said in pre-show interviews that he is not going to let a show-mance screw-up his game this time. Good, cuz I don't wanna share.
    I like Cochrane too! He is quirky-cool.
    ReplyDelete
  100. Bob Marley is a bit mouthy, too early-on in the game. May be his undoing.
    ReplyDelete
  101. OMG! I hope this doesn't backfire and they get rid of Ozzie. Yikes, it could happen. :-(
    Penny
    ReplyDelete
  102. Note to self: Send "thank you" card to CBS camera operators. heehee
    ReplyDelete
  103. Cochran vs Semhar... pretty clear cut
    ReplyDelete
  104. oh boy ...I was nervous. Think the editors are just getting better at setting us up?
    ReplyDelete
  105. appears Ozzy is not in control of his tribe
    ReplyDelete
  106. I am glad that Cochrane is staying.
    ReplyDelete
  107. Donna - I just closely looked at your avatar, and it is lovely!
    ReplyDelete
  108. Petals - Who is it you're calling Bob Marley? The start and getting used to who is whom is hard already without nicknames thrown in. I know. I'm easily confused.
    ReplyDelete
  109. Me too Becky.
    I think they see Ozzy has more on his agenda than what he tells them with keeping Sehmar...
    ReplyDelete
  110. pumpkin - I noticed that, too. But I refuse to let that thought cloud my mania. :) He will be fine.
    ReplyDelete
  111. Thanks Petals... I'm diving in each comment!
    ReplyDelete
  112. Jackie, are you starting a new thread for BB?
    ReplyDelete
  113. Jackie - someone on the tribe called Ozzy "bob marley". But I am calling the mouthy medical marajuana guy Bob Marley. I dunno - i just associate weed with Marley.
    ReplyDelete
  114. Becky - One is set to automatically post at 9:30 ET.
    ReplyDelete
  115. Going to new thread! See you there.
    ReplyDelete
  116. Petals - That's blasphemy to Bob Marley! The dude is NOTHING like him!
    ReplyDelete
  117. Ozzy voted for Semhar! ??
    ReplyDelete
  118. Jackie - I think "Bob Marley" is the medicinal grass guy, square face, dark mien, pretending to be a teacher.
    ReplyDelete
  119. *respect to Jackie*
    no more Bob Marley. I'm gonna call that guy Snoopdog until I learn his name, LOL.
    ~~~

    Where are we for BB?

    ReplyDelete
  120. That guy's name is Jim. Let's just call him that. It's easier to everyone reading comments.

    ReplyDelete
  121. Refresh the blog and you'll see the BB post!

    ReplyDelete
  122. Just glad Ozzie didn't go the first week.

    I'm kind of on the edge about Semhar leaving. I like Cochran, but I just don't really know.

    We'll see what it does to the team next week.

    Penny

    ReplyDelete
  124. Here we go again!

    Margo, thanks for including me in the pool. Figures I would have to get Brandon. LOL

    So far I don't think Brandon has the same arrogant entitlement attitude that his uncle Russell had but it's too soon to tell. I don't think he's going to be able to keep those tattoos hidden for too long. Which player is it that is already suspicious that Brandon is hiding something?

    Loved seeing Ozzy back and it will be interesting to see if he keeps his low profile game strategy going. He seems to be much more subdued this season.

    Coach is Coach, what else can I say?

    Semhar should have known not to protest too much in the very beginning. I know she really did feel badly about loosing the challenge for her tribe but she only called more attention to it. I simple sorry I blew it would have been sufficient. Ozzy must really have had an attraction to her to have tried so hard to keep her in the game. It must have been the poetry she recited. ;) I guess Ozzy didn't know that Semhar would have a lantern on Redemption Island when he quietly commented that he wished he'd taught her how to make fire.

    Cochran definitely has a lot to overcome. He may just be bright enough to do it, at least for a couple of weeks. What was he thinking applying for Survivor? I hope he gets some sunscreen soon.

    I still don't have all the names down yet. Who was the woman who had an early meltdown? I wonder how long she's going to make it before having another one. Let's face it, Survivor is much more difficult than many fans realize. We're not all cut out for the challenge and most of us know who we are. ;)

    Can't wait for the next episode.

    ReplyDelete
  125. Loved the show!
    Joe, I think they probably got
    Ozzy and Coach for that creepy factor you described. It's kinda a perfect pairing of two different forms of creepy. Interesting.
    Cochran is going to have sun and bug bite problems with that skin. I was so glad to see he made it through tribal.
    Haven't the females usually worn bathing suit tops and bottoms? I don't get why they're in their bras and underwear this year. Anyone?
