The new season of Survivor premieres on Wednesday, February 15, at 8pm ET/PT. The cast was announced today on the CBS show website with an intro video hosted by Jeff Probst and individual cast videos. For me, the best news is that there will be NO Redemption Island! Sure, it was interesting for its first season, but I didn't think we needed a second go of it last season.
As for this season's twists, my personal jury is still out. It's men versus women, the two tribes living together sans any real rules ... it could be chaos! I suspect we'll see lots of folks "secretly" working with others not on their tribe. Hidden idols are still in play, but with the twist that each tribe has one to find and the person finding it cannot keep it. They must give it to someone from the other tribe. What? Color me confused!

Your thoughts? It seems to me that this is mostly an eye-candy cast for both men and women as opposed to the casting of the past few years. I'm not sure if that's good or bad. I predict a lot of censorship blurring.

No Redemption Island and no past "stars" trying to have another chance!! New fresh ideas please!! Cast looks pretty young AND attractive. Guessing the old ones go first!!

I like that there is no Redemption. I'm hoping the women stick together, but if they are living on the same island, I know there is going to be some interesting plotting.

Glad they are mixing it up this season. Too much repeating and bringing back past players can get old!

Maybe I'm selfish, but why would I search for the hidden immunity idol if I have to give it away? Do I have time to negotiate, etc., or must I make the decision as soon as I find it?

Hey guys! I'm looking forward to Survivor although I'm very distracted right now. Yes, I do want to be included in the pool, please.
ReplyDeleteOK, now for the bad news...my stepson passed away on New Year's Day. I'm still terribly depressed and dealing with the aftermath with the family. To make matters worse, my Dad was recently diagnosed with colon cancer. I've got waaaay too much to deal with but am hoping Survivor will distract my mind even it's only for an hour.
Jackie, I managed to put together a new Survivor logo for the blog if you want to use it.
I'm so sorry to always come here with negative news but need you to know why I'm always absent.
I haven't even checked out the cast yet but hopefully I will soon so I know what everyone is talking about. ;)
I hope everyone here is doing good. There's so much I've missed so forgive me for not knowing.
