Survivor: Philippines - October 10 Episode Blog Party

Survivor fans ready? I'm kind of wondering how the alpha male bonding between Jeff Kent and Penner is going to go. I can't really see them together in the long run like Richard Hatch and Rudy, can you?

As the show airs here on the East Coast, I'll update this entry with the major happenings. However, as always, the real action is in the comments. Come join in, the pool is fine!

Espionage! Pete set up RC by putting the clue to the idol sticking out of her bag. Chaos ensues. Jeff, Penner and Carter formed an alliance on their tribe. The women know something's up.

Immunity challenge time! Carrying pots of rice on bamboo through an obstacle course, then smashing all six pots. First tribe finishing gets steak and spices. Second gets vegetables, salt and pepper and a pot. Both of the full tribes sit out their women. So it's all men against Malcolm, Denise and Russell.

Tandang won 1st place. Kalabaw won second. Sigh. Matsing loses once again despite a valiant effort. Kalabaw decided to trade their food for a tarp.

Tribal Council time. No backstabbing this time. Jeff tried to pit them against each other but the worst they could say about Denise is that she's fantastic.

The tally: Russell, Malcolm, Russell.

He was my pool pick, but that's fine with me. I think Denise is fantastic!

Huh. Russell thinks he was blindsided when he was the weakest link in almost all the challenges. @@

  11. Sometimes I can't like Russell, and other times I can't remember why I don't like Russell.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Hi everybody!

Monty a glass of wine & a hot tub sounds pretty good on a cool October night.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Oh, her name was Angie? HAHA - I just refer to her as "cookies"

    ReplyDelete
  14. I have a bottle of my fave port, which I LOVE on Autumn evenings - every feel free - (no cool snifters, tho. I stole a sleeve of dental rinse cups from my office)

    ReplyDelete
  15. Hey Penny, Petals and Ed. LOL @ Petals. Have you seen the banner at Joker's. Angie is Cookie Monster :))

    ReplyDelete
  16. Hey, Jackie and pool buddies.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I wonder how Mike is going to survive the season with all of his injuries.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Please Mike, do not fall in to the fire!!!

    ReplyDelete
  19. I have Pete in the pool. Not impressed.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I really don't like that RC chick.

    Go Lisa & JP

    ReplyDelete
  21. I have Russel - VERY unimpressed

    ReplyDelete
  22. RC is my pool pick, but I'm secretly (well, not so secretly) rooting for Lisa.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I dunno Becky - Pete is pretty smart...shifty, rather.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Uhmmmm, cute and brains...

    ReplyDelete
  25. Hi folks.

Sorry, I've been sitting here and forgot to say "hello"!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Petals, he is Sneaky Pete.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Me too SharonS, rooting for Lisa! And my man JP (love him AND his Alda-voce

    ReplyDelete
  28. Hey gruesome-picture-man! *ahem*

    ReplyDelete
  29. That's Jeff. Plays this game the same way he played baseball - it was always about him. Penner and he make a good couple.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I don't know. I think I like RC more than Abi. They both give me the feeling that they will provide good times here at the pool, lol.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Where'd this blond kid come from that JP is talking to?

    ReplyDelete
  32. Monty, haven't visited Jokers since BB ended. Need to go there, tho. "Cookies". Really? When that happened, my jaw dropped along with Jeff's.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Hey Joe. You snuck in there.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Penny - I don't follow baseball very much - which team was he?

    ReplyDelete
  35. We're seeing an awful lot of Penner's tribe tonight. Think they are heading for tribal?

    ReplyDelete
  36. The one out at the boat with him and the baseball guy?

    ReplyDelete
  37. OMG, I thought JP was talking to a blonde boy too! It is the tough chick, that has that sculpted short hairdo? OMG.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I think the sculpted chick was talking to the other girls...

    ReplyDelete
  39. Mostly the Giants, I think.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Hot tub is getting to me. Have to stand up during the commercials...

You know I still am not even sure who the person is who I have. But i WILL be looking for the David Bowie person, lol

I brought a huge bowl of malted milk balls... blast from the past. Anyone want some?

    ReplyDelete
  41. Petals Jeff Kent played for quite a few teams;

    Toronto Blue Jays
    New York Mets
    Cleveland Indians
    San Francisco Giants
    Houston Astros
    Los Angeles Dodgers

    ReplyDelete
  42. Petals, Jeff Kent was with a lot of teams, but most known for his years with the SF Giants.

    ReplyDelete
  43. They could totally throw it and get rid of Russell. Of course, they would have to hope for a tribe switch up.

It's about time Russell started looking for it, ya think?

    ReplyDelete
  44. OK, thanks guys (re: baseball)

    ReplyDelete
  45. And Jeff Kent had somewhat of a reputation for not getting along with some of his team mates.

    ReplyDelete
  46. This is too funny. They're looking for the idol that he's been to dumb to look for.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Petals - Jeff Kent played on a lot of teams. One team was the Giants; and he's the all time leader of home runs as a second baseman. He wasn't really liked by his team mates, that's why he was traded so often. Very determined and driven guy. Nothing wrong with that, but he was never a team player.

    ReplyDelete
  48. That tribe deserves to be decimated. They've been losing every frigging comp and they spend all their free time plotting against each other. WTF? There's THREE of you left...try and hang together.

    ReplyDelete
  49. aww - I didnt want to see lil caterpillar die...

    ReplyDelete
  50. In baseball circles, he's known as a jerk. Just sayin' :)

    ReplyDelete
  51. I agree, Joe. They're stooges.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Ooops, I just realized others answered the question about Jeff Kent. LOL. He was with QUITE a few teams. He was good, but never got a long with people.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Grr - now she turns to Lisa (while they've been treating her like roadkill thus far) Lisa is too nice.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Smart decision, Lisa. Let them cat fight it out. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  55. Well that was a new high (low?) in Survivor wildlife photography. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  56. Joe, I don't think they'd be plotting against each other so much if Russell wasn't Russell.

    ReplyDelete
  57. I am no fan of RC but I think Abi maybe a little bit psycho

    ReplyDelete
  58. Agree with Lynn, too :)) I get an ick feeling with Abi. Drama, drama, drama

    ReplyDelete
  59. OK, I've got Carter... hadta go back and look it up.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Sharon, they've been plotting against each other the whole time...and not just against Russell.

But even if it is true about Russell. So what? There's only 3 of you left, you have to try and win something as a team.

    ReplyDelete
  61. tritto re Abi: I think she has that "batty Brazilian" thing going.

(although, my lovely Janelle {BB queen} said she met her in LA, and liked her a lot)

    ReplyDelete
  62. Come on LISA!!! GO, GO, goooooooo

    ReplyDelete
  63. Come on Matsing!! You can do this.

    ReplyDelete
  64. ewww... that person is SOOOO butch!

    ReplyDelete
  65. Yeah, I think Abi is muy loco

    ReplyDelete
  66. Petals - I bet Janelle didn't have cause to see this side of her! eek

    ReplyDelete
  67. Ironically, it is Russell who is the weak link not the woman on that tribe

    ReplyDelete
  68. I don't know her name: gonna call her Dennis the Menace

    ReplyDelete
  69. Man! Late again! But I'm here and trying to catch up.

Sydney.. I love malt balls... Throw some over here please.

    Wine is good Monty...

    ReplyDelete
  70. I would really like to see Matsing do better.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Sure, we never saw this blond guy and the only thing we'll know about him is that he's a klutz

    ReplyDelete
  72. Matsing leading??? Am I colorblind or is this true?

    ReplyDelete
  73. Come on Denise, you can do this!!!!! Come on

    ReplyDelete
  74. THat blonde klutz is my Carter! no wonder I had no idea where he came was all this time

    ReplyDelete
  75. smashing looks pretty easy

    ReplyDelete
  76. Go Malcom, come on guys!!! Don't want them to lose this time.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Sydney - I'm sure you're right.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Wow....so close for Malcolm. Sad.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Geesh!!! Goodbye Russell!

    ReplyDelete
  80. wow! Lisa & JP are safe! Time for Russell to say buh bye!

    ReplyDelete
  81. How come Russell always has energy left for tantrums but nothing for competitions...

    ReplyDelete
  82. Love that, he just called Jeff "Lord"

    ReplyDelete
  83. What a team!! Now who goes??

    ReplyDelete
  84. Well, Russell - you are excellent. Excellent at losing challenges.

    ReplyDelete
  85. I really feel badly for Matsing. Really do.

    ReplyDelete
  86. I'd love to know what Russell thinks of himself watching this...

I mean he totally crawled at the end of the comp and just lay there the whole time Malcolm was competing. Then he starts smashing crap.

BRING THE PASSION TO THE COMP, ASS!

    ReplyDelete
  87. OMGosh, Dennis the Menace is ... scary (or maybe it was just the mud that caused her to walk like Popeye)

    ReplyDelete
  88. Petals said...
Well, Russell - you are excellent. Excellent at losing challenges.

    LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  89. I don't feel badly for Matsing. They did it to themselves. They fought each other the whole time. They kept Russell for no apparent reason. Roxy was a good elimination. The other 2? There was no reason to keep Russell. He is physically weak despite his physique and he is disruptive to morale.

    ReplyDelete
  90. I would think, next week, they absorb the two left in Matsing in to the other tribes. TPTB will not keep the challenges to two people. I can't see them doing that.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Touche Joe in NY

Meb - Malt balls -How long since you had them? I am now addicted after getting a box about 4 months ago

    ReplyDelete
  92. Denise was balancing carefully, that's why her arms were out. I love her. She may be my favorite.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Denise is way tougher than Russell. I'm hoping she lasts a good long time. Even though Russell is my pool pick, I'm cheering on Denise!

    ReplyDelete
  94. I agree Nicklespeed the two who are left will probably be on the other two tribes.

    ReplyDelete
  95. i have to laugh that he's so oblivious to say sincerely, it could be me!

    ReplyDelete
  96. Syd -- I just bought a box of malted milk balls last week on a whim! Heavenly goodness.

    ReplyDelete
  97. the two "athletes"? Really, Russell? Da Nile is not just a river in Egypt...

He has sucked at every comp since day one...how can he not know that?

    ReplyDelete
  98. They were fighting each other from the beginning. They should have followed their gut feeling about who to vote off. I just do not get Russell. He's a huge guy and Denise is little, but she carried her weight in the challenge. If they Malcolm votes Denise off, he deserves everything he gets. I was rooting for Russell, but he's been a disappointment.. For a big guy, he IS the weakest link. :-(

    ReplyDelete
  99. Denise is definitely tres cool...

    ReplyDelete
  100. This music is comical. Who's going tonight?

    ReplyDelete
  101. I was thinking the same thing, Monty - that music!

    ReplyDelete
  102. They should all vote for each other and make it a 3 way tie!

    ReplyDelete
  103. But Russell...you put it on everyone else to do the job...EVERY time!!!

    ReplyDelete
  104. Each one thinks they are the "swing vote"! It will be one vote each, then decided by fire-starting?

    ReplyDelete
  105. Russell never made it to the merge the first time. His social game sucks...I can't believe he thinks he's great at that also.

We need to hook up he and Phillipe in a battle of the crazies out there...

    ReplyDelete
  106. Honestly, Russell, you voted for MALCOLM? How the hell are you going to win anything without him?

    ReplyDelete
  107. Most light and FUN tribal ever :))

    ReplyDelete
  108. I liked Russell better the first time around. Not now. He's a nice guy, but very weak.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Russell really thought he had a chance?

    ReplyDelete
  110. Seriously, you couldn't see that coming Russell?

    ReplyDelete
  111. Bye bye Russell. Taken out the first time with a Medivac and this time by just being a really weak player.

    ReplyDelete
  112. Joe - right on! How funny would they be?

    Welp, I'm outta da'pool! S'ok !

    ReplyDelete
  113. I never really liked Russell. He's always been a blowhard. But last time it at least seemed like he was helping the tribe. Somehow, he was totally useless this time.

    ReplyDelete
  114. He thought Malcolm was too big of a threat? LOL!!!!

    See Ya!!

    ReplyDelete
  115. I will catch you guys later. Have a great night. LYM

    ReplyDelete
  116. I know he wanted to redeem himself, but he didn't. He was a completely different person this time around. Darn. However, I think Denise an Malcolm will be stronger now. I still think they'll be absorbed in to the other two groups.

    ReplyDelete
  117. Oh man, I am an hour late! So sorry!!

  118. I wonder how that tie would have been decided? They could have done the do over vote, but if they're all still tied would it have been rocks or fire? Hmmm... I'd like to know what Jeff would answer to that.

    ReplyDelete
  119. See some of you Sunday; and the rest next Wednesday.

Thank you, Jackie. Have a great weekend!!!

    Yikes,who leaves next week???

    ReplyDelete
  120. What??? another medical evac?

    ReplyDelete
  121. Ooops, I meant, have a great week everyone!!!

    ReplyDelete
  122. Why did I think that Russel had the immunity idol?

    ReplyDelete
  123. disbelief till the end Russell? Thank you everyone. I'm leaving the rest of the milk balls for you Jax.

    ReplyDelete
  124. Who do you think will be evaced?????

    ReplyDelete
  125. On a good note... Petals and Jackie can now root for JP and Denise :)

Nite all. See you late on Sunday!

    ReplyDelete
  126. I think maybe Jeff Kent with his knee? I can't think of anyone else on that tribe either really sick or hurt.

    ReplyDelete
  127. I'm not a huge Penner fan, Monty. But Petals is!

    Thanks for coming by, folks!

    ReplyDelete
  128. Well my grandson came down to talk and I missed the whole thing. Still eating those malt balls... send some more sydney if you haven't left already. I'll enjoy them as I continue to watch the show. Time for Russell to go so not sad about that.

His sad story about being picked on didn't work.

    ReplyDelete
  129. I'll cheer for JP, absolutely! WHoo!

    ReplyDelete
  130. 1 - kudos to Denise for being an adult. LOVED her comment that if she were the one voted out, she'd still think Malcolm and Russell were great guys and she'd just chalk it up to being outplayed.

B - can you be blindsided when there are only 3 of you on your tribe? As much as I'd HOPE it wouldn't be me, I wouldn't be surprised if it were. @@

    ReplyDelete
  131. OK so I missed the party and fortunately recorded the show. I have one serious question and I think Jackie, I must give it to you....
In the immunity challenges, when a team has an extra member they choose one to set out. But, doesn't Jeff always say they cannot have set out the challenge before?

Therefore, the girls would have outnumbered the men playing. Hopefully I am explaining this right way, so it makes sense.

    ReplyDelete
  132. Hehe, my last post didn't make sense. I meant Petals can root for JP and Jackie for Denise.

I bet they split Malcolm and Denise up this week. I hope Denise goes to the red tribe. They already want a female alliance, so she should be safe for a while there. Hopefully a merge will happen soon.

    ReplyDelete
  133. It's true that they can't sit out consecutive challenges ... or it used to be. Perhaps with the three teams and one team down so low, it's changed. Jeff didn't mention the rule this time. I don't really know.

    ReplyDelete
  134. Missed the show with you guys as was watching Rupert in a debate for office in Indiana. Not sure what I think about his chances.

    ReplyDelete
  135. Jackie, just wanted to get your comment on all of these competitive reality shows getting rid of the people of color right off the bat. Shows such as Project Runway, The Glass House, and now Survivor: Phillippines. I just watched the baseball player get rid of Dawson, and why? What did she do to make them (or the head man Jeff) decide to get rid of her? The other girl was the one who blew their chances of winning. I am so frustrated by this that I discontinue watching the shows. In next week's show, it looks like Artis is aware of what went on this week, and he is ready for Jeff Kent (besides the baseball player plays dirty-it looks like he has a mean, racist theme going on - how shameful!) I'm hoping that Artis will help him to get his head on straight. That's the only reason that I'm watching next week. Your comments, please!
