The Amazing Race - October 28 Blog Party

Who's ready for some Amazing Race? I am! It's actually starting on time here tonight although I'm worried about storm related news interrupting it. The storm here so far is just a bit windy, not bad yet.

As the show airs here, I'll update this post with the major events. However, as always, the real fun is in the comments area. Come join us!

The Roadblock has them weighing wood with rocks as a counterbalance. They're still in Bangladesh. Onto the Detour with Abba and James in the lead. Straw Dogs or Bamboo Jungle. Most seem to be going for transporting bamboo on a rickshaw type vehicle. Straw dogs has them manufacturing jute bags.

1. James and Abba again! They won a trip to Malaysia's tropical rain forest.
2. Abbie and Ryan
3. Natalie and Nadiya
4. Rob and Kelly
5. Trey and Lexi
6. Jaymes and James
Last ... Josh and Brent, but it's a non-Philimination leg. They're still in it!

  1. ~~~~SPLASH~~~~ I'm ready! Hi everyone. Thank you, Jackie. How you feeling?

  2. I wonder if this is a non-elimination this week. Should be getting close to one.

  3. I'm doing well. The hurricane hasn't hit and I'm already off from work tomorrow. I too think it will be a non-elim this week. Watch. The twins will probably be saved! @@

    ReplyDelete
  4. You are probably correct, Jackie.

    ReplyDelete
  5. About the twins and it being a non-elim leg.

    ReplyDelete
  6. No, no, not the twins! LOL

Well, anyone on the East Coast, please stay safe. Protect yourselves. I went through Hurricane Hugo; and it's not fun at all. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone in harm's way.

  7. Any one know how Petals is feeling?

Hi Becky, how are you doing?

    ReplyDelete
  8. I am okay, Penny. Thanks for asking.

  9. ~~~~SPLASH~~~~

Hi everyone!! I multi-tasking as I try and finish cooking dinner, pay attention here AND watch the World Series!

  10. Hurricans are no fun! We road through three with no problems. And then in '71 Celia hit Corpus Christi. I said that I would never do that again.

Looks like the goat farmers are in trouble.

    ReplyDelete
  11. WOW, Sue G. I am impressed!

    ReplyDelete
  12. Well, at least with hurricanes you get a warning. No such thing with earthquakes - yet.

    SueGee

  13. Those twins are down right rude and loud.

    ReplyDelete
  14. SueGee, that is very true. There are worse things. Earthquacks, wildfire, tornados.

I have a wide yellow streak down my back when it comes to any of them. It looks like the sun is setting in my pants.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Chippies are doing well.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Gee whiz, those girls are rude as can be.

    ReplyDelete
  17. How very cool, love those machines; however, feel really bad for the people.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Where is everyone else? Is Petals still sick? I a just blabbing away, I am so sorry everyone.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Penny, I have been feeling like I am talking to myself.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Petals has to be sick to not be here.

    ReplyDelete
  21. These girls are horrible. They have no manners or scrupples.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I said hemp. It is jute.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Becky, I get so chatty, I start wondering if I'm talking to myself, too. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  24. None of the guys are here either. I'm multitasing still

    ReplyDelete
  25. Well, Becky, I thought it was hemp, too. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  26. Anyone here have home made remedies for arthritis in the hand? This front that is coming through has my right fore finger and ring finger really swollen. They hurt really bad. You'd think I wouldn't be able to type. But, my hands are my second way of talking. Heehee

    ReplyDelete
  27. Spaghetti & meatballs and Trader Joe's garlic & cheese bread sticks. Grab a plate!!

I had to file a worker's comp claim because of my hand swelling up. Had to change how I type completely.

  28. I hope it is a non-elim leg since the twins are safe.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Shoot, they lost wood. I do not like that. Darn it.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Oops, Chippies left some behind. I for sure hope it is non-elim.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Can't they just run back and get them, then bring them back to put on the bike?

    ReplyDelete
  32. I hope the Chippendales make it. Although I don't take too much faith with the goat farmer dudes. That bamboo is going to be hard for them.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Man, I hope it's a non-elimination.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Knew it! Boy, they are relieved.. Wow, what luck.!

    ReplyDelete
  35. I hope they go some place cooler next leg.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I think Hurricane Sandy must have done in our party a bit tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Well, I hope everyone is okay.

Thank you, Jackie, see you all Wed.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Missed it all entirely, so I'm happy to read the update here.

Thank you, Jackie, and stay safe. I wish Sandy would just go away. Wishing you an easy ride out of this storm. ~Monty

  43. Just letting everyone know that Jackie and Vincent are okay but they have been without power since the storm hit NJ yesterday.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Thanks Laurie, I just checked in to find out how Jackie was doing.

Jackie, when you finally get this, we're thinking about you!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Thanks for letting us know. I've been thinking of you Jackie and actually all on the East Coast. I am in Michigan and we had high winds and rain but only a drop in the bucket compared to you. My prayers are with you.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Laurie, thank you for the update on Jackie and Vincent.

Jackie, We hope you know how many of us are thinking of you and the others that were effected by the devastation of the storm. So happy to know that you are safe. Sending caring thoughts your way.

    Take care.

  47. It's Thursday evening in NJ and Jackie is still without power. She was able to get out to the local bodega (as she calls it) and get her cell phone charged. She said downtown has power but her neighborhood doesn't have any yet. Keep your fingers crossed!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Just awful what all the folks are going through on the East coast.
Thank you for letting us all know that even though Jackie is without power, she and Vincent are ok.

    ReplyDelete
  49. JACKIE,

When you get this if there is anything we can do please just post and let us know.
being from Louisiana I know how horrible and devastating a storm can be.
praying good thoughts for you and vincent, as well as all of the east coast.

  50. Jackie, praying that they will get electricity to you soon.

  51. Hi Jackie,
All of us in MD are thinking of you and hoping you have power by now. Our situation was strange: 3+ feet of snow in Western MD, ocean coastline flooded and boardwalks washed away, and in Central, lots of rain and wind. I'm so glad you and Vincent are safe...
    Witt :)

  52. Jackie...I have been checking everyday to see if anything had been posted. I hope you get power back soon!! You and Vincent have been in our thoughts and prayers and will continue to be.

    Thanks,

  53. Sunday morning update:
Jackie is still without power. She is doing fine, just frustrated and cold. She is able to get outside since the downed power lines are not live.

Let's all send our positive thoughts towards power for Plainfield today!!

    ReplyDelete
  54. Thanks for letting us know. She's been on my mind.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Thank you for providing the updates, Laurie. Count me among all the readers who are sending positive thoughts to Jackie, Vincent and their neighbors. At least Jackie will have plenty of fodder for her next That Was the Week It Was post!

    ReplyDelete
  56. I don't comment much, but I follow along. Laurie, I am fairly close to Jackie and have offered her my help when she was laid up during surgery. (tho she didn't take me up on it) Please let me know if I can bring her anything!!!

    ReplyDelete
  57. Thank you, Laurie, for the update!!

    ReplyDelete
  58. I wish I had good news to report but there's been no change in the situation. Jackie is doing fine, just darned tired of the whole thing. She appreciates all the good thoughts. Fortunately she can get out and about and her local bodega (as she calls it) has generator power so they can offer supplies. Here's hoping the sun and the power both come out tomorrow!

  59. New Update:
No power and cell can't get to Facebook.
Jackie plans to go to work Monday.

  64. Wednesday evening:
Jackie is still without power and is now dealing with wind, snow and rain. Please keep the good thoughts going for her.

She was able to go to work a couple days this week. That's the only good news.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Always thinking of her and wishing she would get the relief she needs. Power outages are the worst for soooo many reasons, and not just light and heat. She's in my prayers and just came over here to post on this Wednesday night.

We miss you Jackie. This is the one fun place I come to over and over each week and you are sorely missed by all of us.

    HUGS!!

  66. Wishing all the best for you Jackie & everyone on the East Coast so severely impacted by these storms. Keeping you all in my thoughts & prayers.
