The Amazing Race: December 2nd Episode Blog Party

Sigh. The show isn't scheduled until 8:30pm ET due to football. I fear it's a bit behind schedule even at that. So, while I'm getting this post up for the regular 8pm ET slot in case folks show up at that hour, it will be more than a half-hour later that the real party will start.

Once things get underway, I'll update this entry with major happenings as they air. However, as always, the real fun is the party in the comments area. Come join us!

8:41pm ET and we're finally starting. The teams are off to Barcelona, Spain. The goat farmers actually caught up with the other teams, so all are off to an even start. But they're soon in last place once again.

Roadblock - Who wants to get smashed? It's a tennis challenge, not a drinking competition.

Detour - Spin it, repairing a windmill. Bullit - Become bulls in a bullfight.

Pit Stop --
1. Trey and Lexi - won a trip to Riveria Maya (?)
2. James and Jaymes
3. Josh and Brent beat out the twins!!! Yay!
4. Natalie and Nadiya -- rats, non-Philimination leg.

Next week is the big two-hour finale. Please don't let the "twinnies" winnie!

  1. Hey, Jackie. Waiting, waiting, waiting. I feel sorry for those of you on the East coast.

I will be so glad when football season is over!

  2. The show is due to start at 8:41 ET here.

  3. Ah, 60 minutes is just now over. I was intrigued with 60 min. tonight. Two great stories.

BTW, tell Vincent that I forgot to mention that I loved his picture this week.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Please let it be the twins to go home. I like the rest of the group. I did notice on the preview that they have trouble with a standard shift car. Why oh why do teams apply and not know how to drive a standard shift?

  5. hi Jackie & Becky & everyone else

  6. ~~~Splash~~~

    Howdy everyone!

I had dinner all planned to be done when this was to be over and then we could watch the finale of Boardwalk Empire over on HBO and have dinner - but nooooo CBS messes with us again!!

  7. Hey, Lynn. I was beginning to think it was just going to be Jackie and me tonight.

  8. Hi folks.

    Hey Becky, how's your Mom?

Jackie, how's Jersey doing post Sandy?

    ReplyDelete
  9. Mallorca is a fairly small island so I don,t see anyone getting really badly lost

    ReplyDelete
  10. SPLASH~~~~ Hi everyone! Thank you, Jackie!

  11. Becky - I loved the story of the guy in the N. Korean prison. How he escaped is amazing. Amazing story!

  12. So true Becky...I made sure my son learned on a standard transmission and he actually thanked me years later!

  13. Joe - My part of NJ is coming along. A lot of homes still show tarps over their roofs and missing siding. Lots of HUGE unearthed tree stumps, lots of storm debris still along the streets. But, as of last week, my city had 100% power once again. Other areas are still in rough shape.

  14. Either Lexie & Treyor or the Chippies can finish first and I will be happy. I want the goat farmers finish third.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Trey saw it first, he should have been given the first. LOL

  16. Hey, Joe and Penny. Momma was much better today, Joe. Thank you for asking. They put her on a new medication and she had a horrible reaction. She was almost comatose when I arrived. I went to the Director of Nursing and explained that medication affects her very hard because she never takes it. They eliminated the morning dose and she was better today.

  17. Glad to hear things are coming back. We had an ice storm about 15 years ago with similar power outages in March. Not the kind of building destruction, but I remember being without power for 10 days and weeks of trees and branches piled everywhere. After a while, you get used to it. And in the short run, it's all adrenaline. But it was really depressing in that middle period.

  18. Oh my....LOL...these girls are a trip....

That's the one thing I made sure I learned when I was young...a stick shift. My fist stick shift was a 3 speed on the column. An old Chevy truck. LOL

  19. I'm not sure how the goat farmers have managed to hang in this long...but I don't think they can win.

  20. SueG, I love your avatar.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Well, Jackie, I feel horrible for all of you. We were in S. Carolina when Hugo came through and we had no power for over a month, if not more. I remember not having cable for 3 months. I was in college and the college decided to start classes a week after the storm. They had generators. We had no power, so I had no curling iron. Man, I looked bad...LOL

    ReplyDelete
  22. Come on Lexi and Trey....go Jaymes and James.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Where is Petals she would love this tennis stuff

    ReplyDelete
  24. Come on James, concentrate!!!

    ReplyDelete
  25. My kids were not that bad when they were learning to drive.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Why would he attempt this???

    ReplyDelete
  27. Thanks Becky. I have a ton from the old days of chat and message boards and some still work!

SueGee off to finish dinner now see you all later

    ReplyDelete
  28. Poor Josh. He should have passed on this. I think it may cost them third place.

  29. ~*~*~ splash ~*~*~*

    Late...

    ReplyDelete
  30. Hey Ms Jackie, Becky, Lynn, Sue,Penny & BF Joe.

    Tennis??? What'd I miss?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Late too--- finally (I hope!) have my computer running so it doesn't freeze up every 3.5 minutes.

Was so hoping they could leave the twins in the dust and get rid of them finally...

    ReplyDelete
  32. Penny - I hated going to work while my home power was out. I needed to do laundry and, though I was heating water up for baths, I felt like a grunge. And, it was too dark by candlelight to actually see what I was doing while getting ready to go.

That said, I think the goat farmers might finally be out of it tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Ah I see!
Imagine - they are hot now? In 40 days, the guys will be in Australia for the Open, and the on-court temps are sometimes upwards of 100 degrees.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I can't believe it is December. November was a blur, between the election & Thanksgiving.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Well, at least the twins have to drive again.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Hey Sharon!

I miss you guys seeing you guys several times a week...When does BB begin again?

    ReplyDelete
  37. Petals likes her BOYS playing tennis more than she likes tennis.

    ReplyDelete
  38. beautiful!
I've been in a few caves...so eerie but so beautiful

    ReplyDelete
  39. Becky - perfect avatar for you! :)

  41. I think bullfighting is cruel, though...:-(

    ReplyDelete
  42. I hope the goat farmers don't do bull fighting.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Joe - you know me too well. hur hur

(actually, loving my boys did ferry me toward a love of the actual game. Sort of like when men begin to enjoy womens gymnastics?)

    ReplyDelete
  44. I've missed being here recently -- holidays and being sick and trying to get my computer running better have worked against me.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Boy those Chippendale boys look exceptionally good tonight...

    ReplyDelete
  46. Joe - how are your little, bitty babies doing (speaking of bulls!)?

    ReplyDelete
  47. Chippies are funny. I thought they would just be pretty faces.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Hey Petals - long time no see!!

I'm in and out of here again but will try and check again before its done.

I have a really hard time making it on Wednesday - not getting home from work early enough lately!!

SueGee (I think BB starts around 4th of July)

    ReplyDelete
  49. Petals, when men start taking an interest in GIRL's gymnastics they are one step away from jail.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Come on, Lexie. Suck it up! You are a TX gal. Act like it.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Sorry, I shouldn't have posted that. I could think it, but shouldn't have said it.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Petals,

The fur kids are doing well, mostly. We still walk our 3 or sometimes 4 miles per day. Willie is starting to seem a little old.

    How's Bash?

    ReplyDelete
  53. Thank you, Petals. Love my Beagles.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Sharon - I'm liking the Chippendales more and more each week. They have a good sense of humor and, despite not coming across as too bright in the beginning legs, they aren't bad at the race at all.

    ReplyDelete
  55. How old is Willie, Joe. And what kind of dog is he -- other that very big.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Willie is a Great Pyrenees. He's 7-1/2. But he tore his CCL 3-1/2 years ago. That ages him a bit more than the calendar

    ReplyDelete
  57. Sue - Sundays are hard for me lately - I've been going to bed at like 7pm.

Getting into a better routine, tho.

Joe - Bashie is a lunatic, same as always. hehe...He got into a clove of garlic soaking in olive oil...he ate it, the oil, and the bread next to it.
(note: doggie garlic breath is nothing compared to doggie garlic farts)

    ReplyDelete
  58. me too, Penny - re bullfighting. It breaks my heart. Actually, it is what turned me OFF of Rafa (Nadal). He frequents the fights, cheers, etc.
    Yuck!

    ReplyDelete
  59. Mallorca. Close to Rafa. And Prince - he has a villa there.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Who said women drivers are bad? Oh, yeah, that was my husband talking about me. He says I can't even drive a grocery cart at the store safely!

    ReplyDelete
  61. I don't watch bull fighting either.

    ReplyDelete
  62. OH GOSH, please let bot of them make it!!!! Don't get lost!!!

    ReplyDelete
  63. Becky - a terror in the aisles?LOL

    ReplyDelete
  64. I really like these two. I also like Jaymes and James.

    ReplyDelete
  65. I agree about Jaymes and James Jackie. So glad they are in it, most likely to the end.

And dare I hope we are going to see the last of the twins tonight???

    ReplyDelete
  66. Jackie- I hope you get power soon. I know its hard. I'm thinking of you.

    ReplyDelete
  67. I hope these are the final 3. They won't do final 4, I hope, anyway.

    These girls are rude.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Joe, Great Pyrenees are beautiful dogs.

And, yes, Petals, unfortunately, I am afraid he is correct.

Oh, wonderful!!! It looks like the twinies are last.

    ReplyDelete
  69. I thought next week was the finale???

    ReplyDelete
  70. ugh...

Hopefully Survivor will end better than this...

    See you then.

    Thanks for hosting Jackie!

    ReplyDelete
  71. It is a two hour show next week. I hope the football game ends on time and I hope the twins get the boot for good.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Well, crap! This means they can pull ahead next week. Crap, crap, crap!

Well, I'll see you all Wed for Survivor night!!!

    ReplyDelete
  73. The finale is two hours (just checked). So it will be four teams going in, one elimination and three teams going for the finish line.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Thanks, Jackie. See you Wednesday.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Bet the underdogs win!!! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  76. Thanks Jackie. Nite everyone

    ReplyDelete
  77. Thanks for coming by, everybody!
