The Amazing Race: May 5, 2013 Season Finale Blog Party
Oh my. It's even starting on time tonight! Are you ready for the big two-hour finale? While I'm not real keen on Max and Katie (more talking about Max there), I think any of the four remaining teams are "worthy" of the win. My personal favorites at this point are Bates and Anthony. I find the demographics of the last four teams racing to be interesting -- one male/female couple, two all women teams and one all male team. Are the challenges getting physically easier? Or are the female teams stronger? Your thoughts?
As the show airs, I'll update this post with the major happenings. However, as always, the big party will be in the comments area. Come join us!
Teams are heading to Ireland.
Roadblock - The teams must cannonball into a mud bog and swim it. t looks like it might do in the country-western gals. Jennifer just can't seem to do it.
The Detour has them serving a five-course meal (Tray It) or doing graffiti (Spray It).
Max and Katie are in the lead heading to the Pit Stop at Ulster Hall.
1. Max and Katie - won a trip to the Dominican Republic
2. Bates and Anthony
3. Mona and Beth
Jennifer and Caroline didn't make the final three.
On the way to London next! They get a pint of beer there and are heading to Washington, DC, their final destination. From the Lincoln Memorial, it's off to meet up with the Secret Service for a photo shoot with the President. Or, to be more honest -- a photoshopped shot, not the real thing.
The Roadblock has them being a Spymaster figuring out what one of 50 spies has the next clue. Now Bates and Anthony are in the lead heading to the stadium where the Nationals play baseball.
The stadium challenge is a hoot! One has to fly around on a zipline, the other is in an actual mascot baseball suit trying to catch a ball thrown from the zipline.
The final challenge has them search through globes and put them in the correct order of the race. Bates and Anthony got through it before anyone else arrived! They're now on their way to Mount Vernon ... the Finish Line! The other two teams are at or just arriving at the globes.
Max and Katie are done with the globes.
BATES AND ANTHONY WIN THE AMAZING RACE!
Max and Katie came in second. Last came Mona and Beth.
Yayayay, it's on time.
ReplyDeleteHi Jackie and Vincent. Thank you Jackie, for hosting!!!!
Go Anthony and Bates!!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Jackie & Penny
ReplyDeleteHey there!
ReplyDeleteI like Anthony & Bates too
ReplyDeleteJackie, I don't think the challenges have become easier I think the remaining women are stronger and more fit
ReplyDeleteThey've maintained positive outlooks throughout the show. It's hard NOT to like Anthony and Bates!
ReplyDeleteHappy Cinco de Mayo Jackie and company.
ReplyDeleteI am not overly fond of Max and Katie.... and they are my peeps.
ReplyDeleteJackie, thank you for hosting. You too, Master Vincent.
Hi Becky
ReplyDeleteMAX is an ASS
ReplyDeleteHey, Lynn.
ReplyDeleteI agree, Max is an ass. That smirk o his face...he's abrasive.
ReplyDeleteHi Lynn and Becky!
Becky, how is you momma doing in her new settings?
Yuk. Talk about leeches....ugh
ReplyDeleteHi Everyone! I'd like to see the roller derby moms win, but they are a long shot. I'd be happy with the hockey brothers - they are always smiling, even when things aren't going their way.
ReplyDeleteI'll help him!!!!
ReplyDeleteWow, she's going fast. For hating water, she is doing well.
ReplyDeletePenny, she is still a bit confused. The care of that unit is just as good as the previous one, but a lot more residents. Thank you for asking.
ReplyDeleteI am pulling for the hockey players too.
This task gives a new meaning to "mud bath".
~~~SPLASH~~~
ReplyDeleteHi everyone! I cannot believe this is the last TAR and Survivor is going to be over next week!
SueGee from the Left Coast
Dang, I don't want them to be eliminated, but she's defeating herself. :-(
ReplyDeleteSue, time flies when you're having fun. Jackie, I love coming here for TAR and Survivor.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear the care is the same. I was impressed when they asked you what your mother liked, etc. You do not get care givers asking things like that very often.
ReplyDeleteAnd before we know it - BB time!!
ReplyDeleteSueGee
Yeah, SueGee, I can't believe this is the last TAR. I really want Anthony and Bates to win, but will be happy with anyone but Max.
ReplyDeleteI have to work Wednesday night, so I'll be checking in on Survivor on my phone periodically. I'm not suppose to use it at work, so I have to be very discreet about it. But, I will be here for next Sunday.
NOOOOOOO, not them first...dang!!!!
Oh good, he caught it. Come on, get it right. Yikes!!!
ReplyDeleteI really do not them to do well, but they have been doing great.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping Anthony and Bates picks it up faster.
The roller ladies are not doing well. They do not get it.
These folks are really dumb when it come to knowing anything about food
ReplyDeleteI would have gotten Chartruse wrong, too. My husband said it was green, I didn't know. LOL He said the only reason he knows is because it's a favorite color for some fishing lures. How funny!
ReplyDeletePenny, that is funny. Most men would not know the color.
ReplyDeleteI knew what color chartreuse was because my mother's dining room chairs were covered in that color
ReplyDeleteMax, please hush up! You are a jerk.
ReplyDeleteI hope Max & katie have a change of luck
ReplyDeleteChartreuse is one of my favorite colors.
ReplyDeleteJim is so smart when it comes to colors and it's mostly because of fishing. LOL.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a green person. I only like forest green, but the other green colors - no. Give me a fuschia, periwinkle, etc. I would know. LOL
Chartreuse is a green herbal liqueur made by French monks. It's an acquired taste.
ReplyDeleteOUCH!!!
ReplyDeleteGood for them! What a come from behind. I guess ir will be close. But not close enough.
ReplyDeleteBummer. But the roller ladies worked very hard to get there. LOL
ReplyDeleteI have tried the chartreuse liqueur but I didn't care for it
ReplyDeleteI love the singers attitude. No complaining and still friends.
ReplyDeleteI do like Midori melon liqueur which is a nice shade of green too! LOL
ReplyDeleteMidori and Mountain Dew make a fine summer drink!
ReplyDeleteBB is early this season. Did they say June 25?
ReplyDeleteI don't do the dew
ReplyDeleteI wasn't paying attention....BB starting early -- yay!
ReplyDelete(I spent 40 minutes looking for something that was in the first place I looked, but missed seeing it. I hate when that happens!)
ooh....the boys have an advantage in DC...
ReplyDeleteThe white house is 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. not 1100
ReplyDeleteI do not want Max and Kate to win.
ReplyDeleteSorry, but the roller girls are a little out of it.
They all make me laugh thinking they would actually get to meet President Obama. LOL
When the Beagle Moms went to DC, we went to the White House. They took my picture with a Secret Service agent. I put my arm around him and hit the gun he was wearing. Scared the poop out of me.
ReplyDeleteI guess I don't have Max and wife. Good! I really couldn't cheer for them to win, bragging rights or not!
ReplyDeleteThat's too funny.
ReplyDeleteI would be scared, to Becky!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool detour!!!
Hope he messes it up.
ReplyDeleteGo ANTHONY AND BATES!!!!
Cute. A covert op!
ReplyDeleteYES, YES, YES!!!!
ReplyDeleteWow...they kept notes.....smarty pants. Hope it's allowed!
ReplyDeleteGO, GO, GOOOOOOoooooooooooo!
ReplyDeleteDon't get excited, Penny, it's still toooooo early!!!
way to Go Max!
ReplyDeleteOnce at work they told me a Secret Service guy was there for me. I met him -- greasy hair and cowboy boots with a suit. Ew. He was Secret Service and showed his credentials. It turned out an employee's son was applying for SS and they were doing an extensive background check. But this one in NJ was NOTHING like their image!
ReplyDeleteJackie, the SSM I "met" was very clean cut and dressed just like these "agents", but no overcoat.
ReplyDeleteThat's funny, Jackie. They sent Secret Service around to different people when I had to get a top secret clearance in the Air Force. My friends said it was very weird to see one. I think what they do, is send them from your state office. Really strange.
ReplyDeleteI had the SS come to my house to ask me abut our neighbor who need top secret clearance
ReplyDeleteWell, this will do them good if they took notes. I think notes are permitted. Pretty sure. If they're not, then Max and Kate will win.
ReplyDelete>..<
This task is going to slow all of them down. That is hard. Yuck.
ReplyDeleteI didn't think they were allowed to keep notes. Guess I was wrong.
ReplyDeleteall 3 teams kept notes so I guess it won't matter
ReplyDeletedang it guys...this has to be really hard.
ReplyDeleteOh, I hope they don't have traffic troubles...
ReplyDeleteHockey boys all the way!
ReplyDeleteRun Guys
ReplyDeleteOMGosh! Go Anthony and Bates!!! Woohoo. Unless they get really lost, they are going to take this!!!
ReplyDeleteAre they lost????
Come on guys. This is nerve wracking.
ReplyDeleteOk, they are going to make us wonder and bite our nails. Yikes.
ReplyDeleteyay!
ReplyDeleteYeah! I won the BRAGGING rights as the winner of The Amazing Race until next season!!! Go Me!!!
ReplyDeleteOh YES!!!!
ReplyDeleteYeah!!!
ReplyDeleteYAHOO!!!
ReplyDeleteWow. This is great. Two hockey players, this is great!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats Merrilee
ReplyDeleteThanks Lynn1
ReplyDeleteI'm back with a cold pitcher of Margaritas to toast the winners and celebrate Cinco de Mayo
ReplyDeleteSueGee
See you all Wednesday!
Congrats Merrilee!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Nickelpeed
ReplyDeleteThank you for hosting, Jackie. Really appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteI do work Wednesday night, so won't be here. Will try to check in with my i-phone.
Take care everyone!!! Can't wait until the Survivor Finale!!!
Glad father and son are doing well.
ReplyDeleteAt least Max and Katie did not nip at each like so many married couples have in the past.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jackie for another great TAR season
