The Amazing Race 25 Blog Party - October 17

Ah, I'm a free agent in the blog pool as my team, the firemen, were Philiminated last week. I'm leaning towards throwing my support to Bethany and Adam mainly because (1) they seem nice and don't bicker and (2) I just admire her so much for dealing with the loss of her arm and not letting that stop her from not only living a regular life, but excelling in physical challenges.

As the the show airs here on the East Coast, I'll update this entry with the major happenings. Refresh the page to get the latest news! You all know where the real party is -- I hope to see you in the comments area!

Here's the latest on the blog pool run by that Very Magnificent Margo:

Adam & Bethany - chrob61, Kathy in Brooklyn, Kelsey NY, Zoetawny
Brooke & Robbie - Caela, Sharon, Sharon N, Willie J
Keith & Whitney - Jean, Jennasmom, Nana in NW, PDXGranny
Kym & Alli - Brenda, meb, Nicklepeed, Rochelle, Terry in TX
Maya & Amy - Ed in OH, Karen in CA, Lynn1, Margo
Misti & Jim - Cheryl in NC, Laurie, ML, OrkMommy
Shelly & Nici - Buzzmaam, Merrilee, Rbennie, SueGee
Tim & Te Jay - Babs, Brent McKee, Dusty, Monty924,

Sorry you have been PHILIMINATED
Lisa & Michelle - Becky, Delee, dla, Donna in AL
Dennis & Isabelle - Auntie Leigh, Brian, David, Donna NY, sanra
Michael & Scott - Donna in FL, Glenn, Jackie, Marlo

Ready to race party?

Huh. They slept in tents on the Shetland Islands Pit Stop. They now have to take a ferry and head to Denmark on a plane. Although the ferry is a bunching point, they're taking three different flights. Kim and Alli are in the lead. Beat those dentists, girls! The car will punish them if they don't drive energy efficiently. The punishment? A quiz!

Detour -- Parking Space, living room or garden setting for a streetscape resting place. The other task is a wedding cake run -- finishing a wedding cake and delivering it on a cargo bike.

Good. The dentists didn't drive efficiently.

Roadblock: Who has a good memory for faces? They have to take orders from dining patrons and memorize the dishes ordered.

Kym and Alli are in the lead and now have the clue to the Pit Stop! Meanwhile, the dentists have to redo their parking space.

Pit Stop -
1. Kym and Alli -- each won a new hybrid Ford

Heh. The dentists switched detour tasks and now are having problems with the cake!

2. Brooke and Robbie
3. Keith and Whitney
4. Maya and Amy
5. Tim and Te Jay

Now the dentists are having trouble in the waiter task.

6. Shelly and Nici
7. Adam and Bethany
8. Misti and Jim

Rats. They gave Phil the save, but it's a non-Philimination leg so Phil gave it back.

Next week will have them facing a Double U-Turn and Marrakesh!

  4. I really don't like having TAR on Friday nights

  5. I usually have other plans and end up watching the show ON Demand when I have free time. I really miss being able to hang out at Jackie's pool parties

  6. I like not having to figure out how to get it all taped when football ran over. I always had to tape it on Sundays but half the time I didn't remember to tape the how or two afterwards so I'd miss most of the show.

  7. Misti really looks ready for the red carpet with all the eye make up

  24. I like the predictability that the show will start on time with the Friday slot. And, I'll admit -- my life is kind of boring, so Friday nights I'm usually home. I have to work Saturdays.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Penny, my life is boring too, so I prefer Friday night rather than having to wait for football to be over.

My social life right now consists of the nursing home and doctor's apppointments.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I just do not like that dentist.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Hi everyone, =) yummy pizza, mmmm

I won't tell you what I thought that misspelled word said penny while speed reading through the comments. LOL Thought it sounded a bit strange.

  32. These tasks when you have to recreate something are always difficult

    ReplyDelete
  33. I think I'm going to have to use Monty's idea and set a reminder. Now where did I leave my phone!

  34. The dentist is so full of himself!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Is this a non-elim round?

    ReplyDelete
  36. I know I am being catty but it makes me happy to see the perfect couple having a little trouble

    ReplyDelete
  37. The bikers were smart to take some of the icing with them.

    ReplyDelete
  38. That should chap Mr. Teeth.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I would say it couldn't happen to better people, but Bethany and Adam are still there.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Maybe we will see the dentist gnash his teeth! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  41. Becky - I think we're due for a non-Philim. If not this week, next week for sure.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Maybe the dentists will be forced to give up their Save to stay in tonight. I'd like to see that gone.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I work as a waitress in a drug store (yes, I was a soda jerk)my last two years of high school.. That job made me determined to finish high school.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Love those dogs!!!

    Yayay....GO GIRLS!!!

    ReplyDelete
  45. look at the flower pot and spade....look closely!!!

    ReplyDelete
  46. I don't think any of us like the dentists much. He's too cocky for me. Blech

    ReplyDelete
  47. Haha, way freaking easy. Famous last words.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I think I will throw in with you Jackie on supporting Bethany and Adam since I was kicked out of the pool a couple of weeks ago.

For some reason the dentists having problems makes me smile. Just can't figure out why. =))

    ReplyDelete
  49. Wipe that smug look off his face! YES!

    ReplyDelete
  50. LOL this is getting cruel. Looks like they'll be using their save. Hehehe

    ReplyDelete
  51. It is very entertaining to see the big shot fizzle out

    ReplyDelete
  52. My pool pick are Kym and ALi; but I do like Adam and Bethany. I hope they do well.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I even like the wrestlers a bit better this week. He was funny in the wait(ress) task.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Do you think the dentists will use their save? They would have to if they are going to make it, I woudl think. However, if it's a non-elim, they will waste the save.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I like the wrestlers and the scientists tonight

    ReplyDelete
  56. I would guess that using the save makes it an automatic non-elimination leg. No way they would kick out the team that finished before them.

    ReplyDelete
  57. I hope they use it and the find out it was a non elimination leg of the race

    ReplyDelete
  58. Jackie, I found the wrestlers more likable this week.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I hope the dentists think they're smarter and safer and they lose with the save.

    ReplyDelete
  60. They will be so stupid to not use the save.

    Gorgeous dog!!!

    ReplyDelete
  61. Good. I like Adam and Betheny too.

    ReplyDelete
  62. This is too darn funny. I hope they don't use the save and it's a elimination. Again, I shouldn't say that because I don't want the other 2 pairs to get in last.

    ReplyDelete
  63. The dogs are the stars tonight

    ReplyDelete
  64. Well, what's bad is they say they are humbled, but they will be the first ones to U turn someone.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Darn, I wish they had to use the save. I guess the save means you don't have to play it unless you are last? Is that correct?

    ReplyDelete
  66. Thanks Jackie. I doubt I will be able to be here next week. I have to go to a birthday party (my own)

    ReplyDelete
  67. Jackie, thank you for hosting us. See you next week.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Becky - It can only be played to save them from being eliminated.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Happy early birthday Lynn! Thanks Jackie... see everyone on Wednesday for Survivor switch up!

    ReplyDelete
  70. :::SIGH:::

I won't be here next Wednesday or Friday, since I work both nights. I'm bummed. But, I'll be here in heart.

Wow, things get nasty next week!!

    ReplyDelete
  71. Thanks, Jackie. That's why they didn't use it.

    ReplyDelete

    Thanks Jackie. =)

    Happy early birthday Lynn !!!!

  73. Early Happy Birthday Lynn!!

  74. Does anybody know the breed the dogs were?

    ReplyDelete
  75. We want to know the breed of dog also!

    ReplyDelete
  76. The dogs were Denmark Broholmers, a dog that resembles a mastiff.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Not a Great Dane?

    ReplyDelete
  78. I'm not an expert on this breed, but it makes sense that this would be a breed that would represent Denmark. This description from Wikipedia sounded pretty dead-on, but I'm not claiming absolutely surety... Smile
    - The Broholmer, also called the Danish Mastiff, is a large molosser breed of dog from Denmark, recognized by the Danish Kennel Club and the F\'e9d\'e9ration Cynologique Internationale. It has been employed as a guard dog in the homes of the wealthy. The breed's numbers dwindled severely during WWII, but the dog made a successful return in the 1970's -
Check the website for a description.....
