The Amazing Race 25: October 24 Blog Party

Please, please, please ... go away dentists! Well, him more than her. I only wish last week hadn't been a non-Philimination leg and, at the very least, they would have used up that Save they hold!

As the show airs here on the East Coast, I'll update this entry with the major happenings. Refresh the page to get the latest news! As always, the real party is in the comments area. Everyone is welcome to join in on the fun!

The latest blog pool standings from Marvelous Margo are the same as last week (sigh) --

Adam & Bethany - chrob61, Kathy in Brooklyn, Kelsey NY, Zoetawny

Michael & Scott - Donna in FL, Glenn, Jackie, Marlo

Ready to race?

Starting out in Copenhagen, the teams are off to Morocco. They'll have to search a marketplace in Marrakesh to find the next clue.

The other teams aren't happy to know that Misti and Jim still have their save. Nor am I.

It's a bunching as all make their way to Morocco. Nici negotiated with their cabbie for a flat fare to wait (and keep their luggage in the car).

They have to "Cart it Out" and help set up a restaurant food cart in the marketplace. Jim and Misti's speed bump has them hanging rug-like banners for markets. And, mind you, U-Turn ahead.

Keith and Whitney are the first done with the task. More teams are finishing and Misti/Jim just got to the marketplace task.

The next clue is in the tannery, Roadblock. Keith and Whitney are having trouble finding it. Uh-oh! Ew -- they have to finish preparing three hides by pulling the hair off and then delivering them. Jim and Misti are twelves minutes behind the last of the other teams. Good.

It sounds like feathers are getting ruffled between the Dentists and Shelly/Nici as both teams are in the tanning. The dentists finish first. Oy!

All the teans bunch up trying to deliver the skins. Pushing! Now Nici/Shelly are squabbling with Keith.

Detour - Twirl Time has them spinning a tassel on their heads and playing trance music. The Tea Time has them presenting tea in a very complicated task.

Cool! Bethany and Adam are done first! They did the tea Detour. Kym and Alli did the music task and are in second place. Misti keeps using two hands to hold the tea tray and fail. Of course, Bethany could only use one. Neither Kym/Alli (now leading) or Bethany/Adam U-Turn anyway.

Pit Stop --
1. Kym and Alli - also won $5,000 each
2. Bethany and Adam

Shelly/Nici U-Turned Keith and Whitney. Grr. Dentists, I say!

3. Tim and Te Jay
4. Shelly and Nici
5. Misti and Jim
6. Brooke and Robbie
7. Maya and Amy
8. Keith and Whitney -- Philiminated

They would have also been Philiminated even without the U-Turn. They did that badly.

  1. Hey Jackie and Vincent! Also anyone else who arrives -- hey!

  2. Our cable went out Wednesday. Our computer, telephone and TV are all bundled so we lost everything for the night.

  3. Jackie, looks like thee and me -- again!

  4. I'm here. I've been updating and Vincent has bad timing deciding to climb on me!

  5. Monty said she was going out tonight. I swear people are forgetting Friday nights!

  6. Friday nights can't be a good move for TAR after all those years on Sunday.

  7. Hey, Joe! Glad to see your smiling face.

  8. If that's the tannery with all the colorful clay vats out back, I've been there. It's amazing. (It also stinks.) I bought two jackets, tailored to me.

  9. Hey, Silk. We are going to have a party yet.

  10. Hey Joe and Silk. I just can't think of Marrakesh without the old Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young song in my head.

    ReplyDelete
  11. The speed bump this year looks harder than in the past few years.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Silk, there is your tannery.

  13. What a jerk. He is what I would call an ugly American!

  14. Hi everyone. =)

Kist lurking waiting for show to come on here. I guess the world series is having an effect on were people are. I personally just can't get into it. =)

  15. Is there no way for her to wear a prosthetic? It seems pretty high on the arm, but you'd think they'd be able to put something there that would be somewhat useful.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Just*, guess I should look at what I typed before hitting enter. =)

    ReplyDelete
  17. This show can bring the ugly out in people.

    ReplyDelete
  18. No one outside of KC (Jodie) and SF is really into the World Series. There ratings are generally lower than TAR. I think Fridays are just hard for people.

  19. Hey, David. Glad you can join us for the chat.

  20. She seems to do amazingly well without a prosthetic.

  21. It's one thing to argue with him about position in line, but you cross a line when you start physically shoving him. She's lucky there's a double-standard when it comes to violence. If he had pushed her people would be screaming for an automatic eviction.

  22. Without East Coast teams in the World Series, I would be clueless if not for Jodie.

  23. Jackie, I agree. I'm not saying she NEEDS a prosthetic. But even for things like balance, it is useful to have a counterweight. Without a shoulder socket, I don't know how much actual utility you can get from the prosthetic, but they get better all the time.

  24. I agree, Jackie. She is amazing.

  25. /Their ratings...

I hate when I do that!

  26. I'm disappointed they didn't show the shop at the tannery. They have the most amazing and beautiful stuff there.

I'm also amazed that the racers are able to find their way around the medina. I have an excellent sense of direction, but man, there's no rhyme or reason to the alleys there and it's so easy to get lost. Not just finding a shop - you can go crazy trying to find your way OUT!

  27. I don't get why, even if the world series is not why, the other channels mostly show repeats and don't even give anyone not interested something else to watch usually. The same when the awards shows are on, no one even tries to show anything.

Glad we got TAR on to watch and might check out Constantine tonight to see if it is any good.

  28. I couldn't do the tassel thing.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I don't know, David, the networks all seem to be showing new content this week. ABC, CBS and NBC all have full slates of new shoes tonight, including the Premiere of Grimm.

When I was a kid, they used to do special programming around the World Series. But baseball has lost so much popularity, no one is afraid of it any more.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Heck I couldn't do this show or Survivor and for sure not Big Brother.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I would have whip lash!

  32. Howdy everyone!! Sorry had the World Series on and forgot about your early start!

  33. U-turn those dentists.!! =))

Uggg, I have to go to the dentist next week. Popped out a filling. Glad it doesn't hurt but have to get it re-filled before it does.

    ReplyDelete
  34. If I knew there were several teams behind me I would not
U-Turn anyone. That is asking for someone to target you later.

    ReplyDelete
  35. World Series is on FOX this year so not much of a channel scramble. Looks like they are doing away with the Thursday night football on CBS so Thursday night shows are being re-assembled. Friday night is horrible for TAR IMHO

SueGee on the LeftCoast (Go Giants!)

  36. If these shows had been around when I was much younger, I would have loved to apply for Survivor or TAR. No way on Big Brother!

    ReplyDelete
  37. I'm in total agreement with you Jackie. I could have had a ball on Survivor when I was younger - but knowing someone that was on (twice) helped with my yearnings...

    SueGee

  38. Did you guys know that one of our younger blog followers here has been planning to apply for Survivor as soon as he's old enough? I actually think he'd be great. I'm FB friends with him and his mother and he's adventurous!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Cool Jackie, hope he makes it on.

I am too old also to do any of these shows. Also very out of shape. =)

    ReplyDelete
  40. That's pretty neat about waiting to be old enough. I love these super fans!!

  41. Somewhere in the world there is a carpet from that shop with three knots tied by me!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Jackie, thank you for hosting. I will see all of you next week.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Thanks Jackie. =)

Ready for it to start here now.

  44. That made me mad the mother and daughter u-turned Whitney and Keith. It will come back on them. Horrible.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Darn it. I'm sad they were last. Oh well. U-turn didn't matter.
