Survivor: Cambodia, Second Chance Season Premiere Blog Party

I think we're in for a great season on the show. After all, these people, while not an "All Stars" kind of cast, have all played the game before. Many are no spring chickens these days and yet they'll be playing with/against some young alpha male types. It should be very interesting!

Because the blog pool gives back its first cast-off, akin to throwing a fish caught back to sea, you still have time to join in! The post where you need to sign up is at this link right here. Come join in on the fun and, remember, tonight's cast off won't be a part of our action. The cut-off date for joining the pool is Friday, September 25, 6pm ET. Please sign up on the post linked as any requests in comments on this season premiere post might get lost in the shuffle.

I'll be updating this post with the major events as the show airs here on the East Coast. Refresh the page to get the latest news! As we do what we do ... the real party is in the comments area. C'mon in and have a good time!

Let's get this party started! Survivor fans ready?

Nice scenes of the country (Cambodia) and, so far, a good intro segment for each new-old castaway.

They're divided onto two boats as Jeff greets them from a larger third boat. Twenty players from thirty seasons. He's calling out the tribes too quickly for me to list right now. Both tribes get off their boats and are timed getting supplies from his boat, then one tribe gets to go for rice on another boat. Now it's off for the rice.

Kelly and Joe both swim for it. Woo gets to the bag of rice first.

The tribes:
Bayon - Andrew Savage, Jeremy Collins, Joe Anglim, Keith Nale, Stephen Fishbach, Ciera Eastin, Kass McQuillen, Kimmi Kappenberg, Monica Padilla, and Tasha Fox.
Ta Keo - Jeff Varner, Spencer Bledsoe, Terry Deitz, Vytas Baskauskas, Woo Hwang, Abi-Maria Gomes, Kelly Wiglesworth, Kelley Wentworth, Peih-Gee Law, and Shirin Oskooi.

Terry approaches Spencer and said his son told him to work with him. Spencer seems definitely open to the idea.

Meanwhile elsewhere, Abi is already fussing because her bag is missing. That's going to turn others off right away.

Jeremy makes nice with Keith, thinking that he, Tasha and Savage are his best alliance bets. He thinks Joe is the best "shield" he can have, too. Joe, Savage and Jeremy are going to be quite the formidable trio powerhouse.

Fishbach says he once again feels like a "fishbach out of water." He's worried about his future with the tribe.

Vytas is playing up to the women; Shirin is already out for blood from him and reports to Jeff and Spencer. She's also on the prowl to get Peih-Gee out. Jeff is in culture shock with the jumping into the fray so quickly. Abi found her missing bracelet in Peih-Gee's bag. Hmm. Peih-Gee tells her that she found a bag with no name tag on it and didn't know. Hmm.

Meanwhile, Joe is trying to make fire scraping wood. Kass suggests using her glasses. And, the others see Fishbach out there looking for an idol. Joe is successful making his fire. All cheer!

There's already division in Ta Keo -- old school/new school, shelter people/beach people. Peih-Gee is already leery of Shirin. (Rightfully so.)

Kelley Wentworth found a clue to the hidden idol while on coconuts and palm fronds task.

The tribes get tree mail telling them that the first challenge will be the same one as the first challenge ever on the show. Tasha is giggly girlie over Joe. Heehee. Kelley thinks Vytas is annoying and wants him out. For some reason, Joe's yoga class all seemed to like him. Vytas had a lot of detractors right off the bat. Vytas thinks Abi is going to be the first pick for out.

We're onto the challenge. Reward is a fire-making kit. Quest for Fire is the challenge -- swimming out to raft, all must be there to swim it and light fires through the course, then bring fire ashore, place raft on stand, stick and rope to retrieve a key, open a lock, light final fire to win. Kelley is glancing around for the hidden idol as her clue indicated it's there. But she's too nervous to really search. She doesn't want them onto her.

Kelley got the idol! Woot for her!

Bayon wins Immunity!

Whoa! Jeff tells Ta Keo they're going to Tribal right now. Yikes. Kelly (Wiglesworth) feels guilty, like she let everyone down trying to build the stick to get the key. But I doubt they're going to target her. Nor do I think Kelley with the idol needs to worry.

Tribal Council. Jeff is asking his generally Probsting questions. Woo brings up the old school/new school ways. The guys talk about tribe unity reasons for voting. Abi thinks she's in trouble and would be heartbroken if she goes. They claim there's been a lot of gameplay and most aren't just voting on a whim tonight.

Woo and Vytas vote Abi. Abi votes Vytas.

The votes tally, Jeff mentions the idol, no one speaks up.

Vytas, Abi, Vytas, Abi, Vytas, Abi, Vytas, Abi, Vytas, Vytas.

Vytas is the first voted out. Yikes!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Keith reminds me of a Darrell from the old Bob Newhart Show. You know, Larry who had a brother named Darrell and another brother Darrell.

    ReplyDelete

  26. Mouse, Kass was the worst on her season. He changed alliances every single episode.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Wow, Woo overtook Kelly. Wow.

    ReplyDelete
  28. The first voted off some seasons is for reasons you never hear or see on TV. They try and plot it all out, but if you talk to people that have actually been on the show it can be the little things that get you gone!!

    SueGee

    ReplyDelete
  29. ~*~*~*~*~~* SPLASH *~*~*~~*~*~*

    Hey everyone!!

Ready for a fun, crazy night??
I have 5lbs of fresh, pipin' hot boiled shrimp. There are 2 kegs of beer and 6 bottles of
    champagne chilling.

    LOVE Woo, Joe and Deitz!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Wait, I think you were responding to Penny's question, lol. I'd vote Kass off in a heartbeat.

    ReplyDelete
  31. George Foreman named all of his boys George, and he has several!

    SueGee

    ReplyDelete
  32. Anyone bring dessert LOL???

    SueGee

    ReplyDelete
  33. Ann and Sister Ann. Even as slow aas I am I figured that out.... I think.

    ReplyDelete
  34. SueGee... we're saving the desserts and salads for BB. I have two amazing ones compliments of the local farmers market. :))

    ReplyDelete
  35. I like many of these survivors, going to be hard to choose a favorite...hopefully, my pool person will make it easier.

    ChicMc

    ReplyDelete
  36. *oops... three actually ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  37. Kass was a backstabber. She never kept her promises. She was not a nice person.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Hello everyone. =)

Up for a long night. Just drank a cup of coffee to make sure my eyes are open and ready for it.

I do hope they get rid of Kass first if that tribe loses. Can't believe she got voted back in this season. lol

    ReplyDelete
  39. Kass is the absolute worst of this cast. Just my opinion and watch her win it all, LOL

    ReplyDelete
  40. Thanks Monty...I do have a watermelon to share, but was thinking about something with ice cream tonight LOL

    ReplyDelete
  41. Spencer learned something.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I'd like to see Abi leave, also.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I brought some Adams Pecan Pie Ice Cream. Have any of you eaten it?

    ReplyDelete
  44. Oh, SueGee... you won't be disappointed then when it comes BB time. I have a couple cobblers baking in the oven and you can't have cobbler without ice cream. :)))

    ReplyDelete
  45. If you see it in the store buy some.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Who voted Abi back? Hard to believe that she has a large fan base.

    ChicMc

    ReplyDelete
  47. Sound lovely Becky..

And Monty - I have some French Vanilla that would be real nice on cobbler!!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Keith is such a Bubba.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I just saw where Caleb from last BB is going to be on Survivor 2016. Really?? LOL

    ReplyDelete
  50. Dessert...Hmm.

I'll buzz Joe and see if he'll swing by the market on his way here and
grab some strawberries and pound cake.

Abi - really?? How on Earth did she get the votes to return?

    ReplyDelete
  51. Caleb will not last at all on Survivor! Too much of a pretty boy imho

    ReplyDelete
  52. I wish Joe was on the other team, with the other cool guys.

    ReplyDelete
  53. OFF TOPIC: One hour until BB

Dang, who cuts down a tree on night one? These guys are playing hard.

    ReplyDelete
  54. IMO, Petals, there were a lot of other more deserving people left out.

Uh oh, Stephen doesn't like what he sees. I'm betting he's going to try to target Savage.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Strawberries are in my salad for BB, Petals

    ReplyDelete
  56. That ice cream sounds GREAT, Becky!!!

    ReplyDelete
  57. Penny, it's true about Caleb. That season has already filmed and they will show it next after this season.

    ReplyDelete
  58. This group knows what needs to get done on day 1... They are going to play hard and that is what will make it interesting!

    ReplyDelete
  59. And, he's on the beauty tribe, Monty!!! Yikes. Well, hopefully, he'll bring some comic relief.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Jackie, thank you for hosting. You are the best!

    ReplyDelete
  61. I agree and think this season could very well shape up to the best season ever. I'm hoping for a lot of really big blindsides and a lot of us wondering what in the world they are doing, LOL

    ReplyDelete
  62. Hi everyone! As usual, I'm late and not able to watch for another 30 minutes!! But it's still fun joining everyone here at the real party. It's a whole entire evening of parties!!!

    ReplyDelete
  63. Just hope it isn't too predictable. Like alpha male marching to top 7 or so before turning on each other

    ReplyDelete
  64. Penny and Sue Gee, it is wonderful! It is by Adams Vanilla Company and tastes like real pecan pie.

    ReplyDelete
  65. I do like this extended version. You get to know more about the survivors.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Maybe BB should try this? Let the fans vote in the cast from former players. Not necessarily All Stars.

At least they'd have some idea of how the game should be played.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Penny - We probably don't get that brand out here on the leftcoast, but I will look.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Mid-life Quest. I like that.

Aww, that baby monkey is so cute!!!

    ReplyDelete
  69. I agree, Ed. I would love a second chances game of BB. Hope the powers that be listen to us viewers.

    ReplyDelete
  70. grrrr - I don't like that Shirin chick.

awwww - that was the CUTEST THING IN THE WORLD! That lil cute monkey angel! <3

    ReplyDelete
  71. I wonder who dropped it into the bag, Abi-Marie needs to go.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Well, I would not miss PheeGee if she left either.

They are showing a lot of Abi, so maybe she does leave....hopefully.

    ReplyDelete
  73. I didn't know monkeys could whistle like that!

    ReplyDelete
  74. Shirin is a local and getting lots of play from the local CBS outlet. I bet she goes early LOL

    ReplyDelete
  75. They're going to target someone really weak, or a guy whom they do not trust.

    ReplyDelete
  76. I can't see Kimmie without thinking of Alicia wagging her finger at her during their shouting match.

    ReplyDelete
  77. I hope she does.
Already, the catty women are putting targets on their own backs with all this
petty BS about bracelets & whatnot. Good, let them! Leave my boys alone and
    get rid of the troublemakers.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Hey Petals, How's the ankle?

    ReplyDelete
  79. In the normal all-star casts, they usually go after the strong/almost won types first if they can. If not eliminated early, they almost always win (Boston Rob)

    ReplyDelete
  80. I'm actually glad she found that. We got to see so little of her in her last Survivor. Now, let's see if she's bold enough.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Interesting twist on the hidden idol clue! Not sure how to play it.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Yes, Petals, how are your ankles? Hope they are healing well.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Hi Ed! It's mending. Tomorrow will be one week from surgery; it hurts A LOT, but I have drugs. Thanks for asking, my friend. *smile*

Joega - yeah baby!! Sign me UP! I'd like to see Woo doing it.

Vitas, give it UP. You look like you borrowed a 9 yr olds swim trunks.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Probably so, SueGee. I'm guessing they'll go after one of the weaklings or someone like Terry, Savage, Vytas, Woo, or Joe. They could even target the brainy guys like Stephen,

Vytas needs to quit being so annoying.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Wish that whole tribe could go.

    ReplyDelete
  86. I cannot believe Vanessa is wearing her green beanie for the finale @@

    ReplyDelete
  87. Petals,
Glad to hear your ankle is getting better... glad you still have drugs to help with the pain. Thank goodness, it shouldn't be much longer and the pain will be a bad memory. :)

    ReplyDelete
  88. I am terrible at trying to find good spoilers, but haven't found any yet. And, yes, just so you all know, if it's a good book, I do read the end of it. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  89. I should say, I read the end of the book before I finish it. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  90. I haven't even hit the hard stuff and already have hiccups. I'm in a world of hurt for later.

You all know if they are making us think that Abi Maria is in jeopardy, it will be anyone but her.

    ReplyDelete
  91. I don't want them all to leave, mouse, just some of them. Like Abi, PheeGee, and maybe Vytas.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Penny, I do the same thing. There hasn't been any good Surivor spoilers since Russell last played. I think that's a clue to who was providing and the big ones then. :))

    ReplyDelete
  93. I am NWB for 10 weeks, which is the most difficult. I am supposed to stay in bed for 2 weeks, but who can do that? lol

    ReplyDelete
  94. Petals, who was it that told you to use your computer chair to get around? That is a great idea and you should do it while you are NWB. It's impossible to stay in bed for that time and you shouldn't anyways. More problems from that too.

    ReplyDelete
  95. I love Keith but dang....

    ReplyDelete
  96. I keep seeing people on scooter thingys with their knees bent instead of crutches. I would probably crash and there goes the mobility!!

    ReplyDelete
  97. She should go for it while no one's looking

    ReplyDelete
  98. Monty, Reality Steve used to give them, but he was sued, so he doesn't do it any more.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Hi all....I m glad i made it before bb anyway

    ReplyDelete
  100. Well, I figured Takao would lose because they showed too much of the tribe. Hope it's Abi.

    Spencer is so right. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  101. Straight to tribal! No wheelin' & dealin'

    ReplyDelete
  102. Monty - my computer chair isn't an office chair, so it didn't really work. I use Gary's rolly walker and push myself around. The one local place that has knee rollers have me on a list (all are rented=out)

I hate that Shirin chick, WTH is up with her "who farted" face? Vote her or Abi OUT!

    ReplyDelete
  103. I used to look for spoilers on Survivor Sucks..

    ReplyDelete
  104. RS, isn't that reliable Penny. He's made predictions/spoilers mostly for Bach and Bachette and has been wrong a couple of times. I think his hay day was back in the early days of spoiling those two shows and since then he gets bad or innacurate info. I also think he's kind of a d-bag, lol

    ReplyDelete
  105. Monty, I have a great cure for hiccups. I found it on line when DH got them after his surgery last year. A spoonful of honey. It honestly works.

Petals, glad you are fighting back. Oh, and Penny, I am the world's worst for reading the end of the book before getting there. And it does not spoil the book for me.

    ReplyDelete
  106. Hope you get one, Petals. The knee rollers are an excellent option.

    ReplyDelete
  107. I can't wait until I can watch this for myself LOL

    ReplyDelete
  108. Me, too, SueGee, but they don't even speculate any more.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Becky, my mom's hiccup cure was a shot glass for on lemon juice. It works, but I don't have any, LOL. The hiccups are gone naturally now so I'll be ready to drink up when BB starts. I'm going to hit that keg that Petals brought and then the champagne. :))

    ReplyDelete
  110. Reality Steve started out spoiling Survivor. He used to be right until he was sued. He then stopped posting about it.

    ReplyDelete
  111. SueG - that is a knee roller (or knee walker). That is the recommended equipment for me. I'll be getting one soon. I can buy one for a few hundred bucks, or rent one for $35 week.

OMG, 12 minutes until BB. I am so nervous about Steve throwing Part 3 to VANilla Ice. And, of course, I have conspiracy theory that production has already decided that she is gonna win, and DR has fed her the answers already. Hence her super-confidence the past coupla days. Grrrr. (Jackie, I know you love my conspiracy theories, LOL *wink*)

    ReplyDelete
  112. SurviorFever use to be my go to place but they don't have the spoilers now like they did years ago.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Your insurance might cover it.. I got a wheelchair when I broke my ankle but the dummies gave me one that wouldn't fit through the doors inside my house so I sent it back! I bet you can find a used one on eBay or something like that. My husband lives on eBay, rebuilt his entire 1965 Chevy pickup from parts he found there,,

    ReplyDelete
  114. They're sure makin' it look like it's Abi

    ReplyDelete
  115. Petals, your conspiracy theory could be right. Steve could very well through the final HOH to Vanessa. He'd be stupid to do so, but I can see it happening.

    ReplyDelete
  116. Vytas or Abi. Uhmmmmm. The girls will vote Vytas. Boys, Abi.

    ReplyDelete
  117. I'm psyched for BB to start

    ReplyDelete
  118. I'm psyched for BB to be done with!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  119. Nooooooo!! Abi survives

    ReplyDelete
  120. I had hoped it would be Abi.

    ReplyDelete
  121. Wow, Which guy voted Vytas? Jeff or Spencer?

    ReplyDelete
  122. My insurance does cover it, 100% for DME, after ded (and ded is met).

Gary takes a spoonful of sugar, that works for him.

Penny & Becky - me too! I totally read the last few pages of a book. I also read every review & synopsis of a film before I see it.

    Whoooooo!!!!
I love watching a show where the person evicted is the RIGHT ONE. LOL. Sorry Vytas, next time, don't borrow a 3rd graders' underwear.

    ReplyDelete
  123. My personal opinion....they made a mistake.

    ReplyDelete
  124. Go the cobblers out and ready to head over to the other pool

    ReplyDelete
  125. Monty you're right about the editing....too obvious!

    ReplyDelete
  126. Petals, I'm glad someone else does that with movies, too. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  127. Ok Break time. Will be back for some cobbler!!

    SueGee

    ReplyDelete
  128. Jackie, are you starting a new page?

    ReplyDelete
  129. Vytas came on way too strong. Tried way too hard.

I like that they go right to tribal after they lose the IC

    ReplyDelete
  130. Wow all you ladies cut right to the chase! with Books/Movies

    ReplyDelete
  131. *priming kegs* We have Stella and Bud Light.
Red Solo cups are stacked on the bar.

Thank you so much, Jackie ! I'm keeping things orderly here by the bar area, and so far, nothing has spilled in to the pool.

Ciao to the Survivor-only people. Please consider sticking around to party the BB finale with us.

    xoxoxoxox Here we gooooooo

    ReplyDelete
  132. I didn't realize CSI was ending.

    ReplyDelete
  133. Ed, it beats staying up all night just to finish a book.

    ReplyDelete
  134. I would have voted Shirin or Abi out. But I'm not playing!

    ReplyDelete
  135. See everyone on the BB blog!! And, see everyone next Wednesday!!!

Yep, guessed the two guys who voted Vytas. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  136. Thanks Jackie =)

See everyone on the BB post.

    ReplyDelete
  137. Petals, in bed for 2 weeks? yuk That's really hard to do when you are normally really active and have responsibilities. A little unrealistic, but the surgeon probably doesn't want to chance you falling and messing up his handiwork.

If you know anyone with a walker, you can use one of those around the house... put your knee on the seat and scoot around the house. My daughter found one of those the knee scooters on Craig's list... got it for a really good price. She has to have foot/arch surgery soon and plans to use the walker in the house, and keep the scooter in the car.
