The Amazing Race Blog Party - April 8, 2016

The show is starting! As it airs here on the East Coast, I'll post the major happenings live. Refresh the page to get the latest! However, as it always is ... the real party is in the comments area. Please join in on the fun! (And bring tasty beverages and snacks!)

The Magnificent Margo (and Mom) have made the random picks for the blog pool and here they are ...
Tyler & Korey-P- Paula Bell, Bruce & Ray, SueGee
Burnie & Ashley- Buzzmaam, Delee
Sheri & Cole- Donna in FL, Merrilee, Becky
Zach & Rachel- Sharon N, Nana in NW
Dana & Matt- Grandi, Nicklepeed
Scott & Blair- Meb, Jennasmom
Kurt & Brodie- David, Ed in OH

Philiminated:
Marty & Hagan- Jackie, Willie J
Cameron & Darius- chrob61, PDXGranny
Jessica & Brittany- Donna in AL, Monty924
Erin & Joslyn- Brian, Margo, Rbennie

Since last week was a non-Philimination, Sheri and Cole should be facing a Speed Bump this leg. Amazing Race fans ready? Let's GO!

All the teams are on a midnight train to Georgia (not the United States Georgia), so it's all an even playing field again. That is with the exception of the Express Pass (Kurt and Brodie) and the Speed Bump ahead.

So far they're being directed from Freedom Square to another location where they have to ride a gondola to an extremely old church/fortress.

Detour - Either Georgia winemaking or making a string. They have to clean pots or make a candied wine string thing.

From the Detour, it's onto the National Opera for the next clue. Zach and Rachel are in the lead, first ones off the Detour. Uh-oh ... Korey and Tyler are switching to the cleaning the wine pots. That's not easy, either.

Roadblock -- Who's light on your feet? Ballet. Yikes. It's not ballet as we think it. Think of an Irish jog mixed with a Russian wedding dance, but certain moves which must be done.

The Pit Stop is coming up!

1. Zach and Rachel - won a trip for two
2. Burnie and Ashley
3. Brodie and Kurt
4. Sheri and Cole (Apparently no Speed Bump. I just assumed, I guess.)
5. Korey and Tyler
6. Scott and Blair -- Philiminated.

Aw, I liked them. All the teams are likeable this season.

  8. Hi everyone! Jackie, thank you for giving us this wonderful spot to play! Greatly appreciated.

SueGee, I was absolutely shocked that LaPortia did not win. She's a Diva. However, I do like Trent and am happy for him. LaPortia WILL be a star. There's no way she's going to be idol for very long. One good thing for her is that she will not have the Idol contract holding her back. Many winners have been held back because of it.

  9. I worked nearly twelve hours today and am a bit out of it. (Although I am updating the blog.)

  10. How hard for you, Jackie. We won't be mad if you snooze.

  11. I really liked that McKenzie guy who went out of Idol a few weeks ago. The other in the top three? Talented enough, but don't really interest me so much.

  16. Dang Jackie, sit down and take a load off. =) I used to work 12 hour days, 7 days a week while building a chip manufacturing plant and it really burned me out.

Dang it. I dropped my mouse and now it wants to double click everything. Making it hard to navigate documents as it keeps wanting to skip pages.

  17. I didn't, Penny. I've had some hectic work few days. Plus, I don't really follow them so much.

  21. That's a huge mistake. They were one off from finishing.

    ReplyDelete
  22. They should have stayed. They were right there.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I like these teams, too, Becky. They've been so different from all the others. It makes me wonder why?

  24. The dance always kills everyone

    ReplyDelete
  25. Yes, very likable cast this season. Not a lot of complainers and fighting among the teams

    ReplyDelete
  26. Yes, Scott and Blair did it

    ReplyDelete
  27. I really like Scott and Blair and Sherri and Cole. Plus the two who left when they were so close with the candy.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I would not be able to do the dance having two left feet. That would kill me.

    ReplyDelete
  29. David, I couldn't do THAT kind of dance. Heck, I am old! I couldn't remember the steps.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I don't consider myself over the hill or anything, but I couldn't do it!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Boy, this dance is so hard. Knowing my luck, I'd pull my other hamstring and fall off the stage.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I just noticed the first ones who got there are still there. WOW

    ReplyDelete
  33. Oh, I do not want the father and daughter in last place. Darn it.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Come on Scott, you can do this!

    ReplyDelete
  35. My husband says they don't yell at each other like other races because they really do not talk to each other in person. It's usually over social media. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  36. Yayayyayay. She did really, really well. Now, come on Scott, you can do this.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Very funny, Penny. Ask him if it is the same way for those "in love" with each other?

    ReplyDelete
  38. WOOHOOOOO!

Becky, I guess it could be that way, but with social media, you really don't have to talk to each other. LOL

Poor Scott is going to loose because of this. Dang it.

    ReplyDelete
  39. What a stand up person, Scott is a wonderful person.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Well, Jackie, thank you so much for give us a place to talk. I work next week, so won't be there. They wouldn't let me work today, which was good.

See everyone on Wednesday for Survivor!!!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Yeah! Scott did it! Oh, no, he has the wrong bag. At least he was honest enough to take the bag back.

Jackie, thank you for hosting. Go to bed! LYM

    ReplyDelete
  42. Thanks for stopping by to visit!

    ReplyDelete
  43. That is what would have knocked me out of the race, a dance. lol

    Too bad for them.

    Thanks Jackie =)

    Everyone have a great weekend.
