The Amazing Race: May 4, 2017 Episode Blog Party

I'll be live bloggig the show's events as they air here on the East Coast. The real party is in the comments area -- come join in on the fun!

Lifeguard Sharon C has made the random match-ups for the blog pool:

London/Logan - Delee, Sharon N
Brooke/Scott - Chrob61, Becky
Tara/Joey - SueGee, Willie J, Monty924
Becca/Floyd - Janice, Brian
Liz/Michael - Judi Sweeney, Dolores in Hollywood, Ed in Ohio
Matt/Redmond - MerriLee, Jackie

PHILIMINATED:
Jessica/Francesca - Brenda, David, Sharon C
Seth/Olive - ML, Cheryl in NC
Shamir/Sara - Indiana Jane, Jenna's Mom
Vanck/Ashton - Nickelpeed, Donna in FL

Are we ready? Yes, we are!

Liz and Michael are missing their families. He's especially missing his daughter and is in tears. But they can't sit around because the teams are going to be heading to Venice, Italy. There are two buses, a four-hour bus ride. From there they need to take a water taxi and it's finding a clue held by a sweeping worker next. Scott is bummed that he's stuck with Brooke because she's a "glass half empty" pessimist type person. I don't blame him.

Detour -- Sing It or Bring It. They have to learn and perform an Italian song or lug much luggage up into a hotel.

Matt and Redmond took the physical detour and are now the first team to complete the Detour. Joey practically hauled the luggage by himself. They're running in second.

Who has Masked Intentions is the Roadblock. They have to pick an actor and recreate the mask. There is a demo going on, so they're not totally clueless.

Finally, Becca and Floyd finish singing. They're on the way to the Roadblock.

Brooke is fussing once again.

Redmond finishes his mask just as Joey and Tara are arriving. Redmond and Matt are headed to the Pit Stop. Floyd arrives at the Roadblock and follows the painting instructions which he mentions to us that Tara isn't doing.

Michael called out LoLo (London/Logan) for not helping him find an earlier clue after they had helped LoLo a lot before.

Pit Stop order:
1. Matt and Redmond, won a trip to Grenada
2. Becca and Floyd
3. Tara and Joey

Brooke is running around asking so many others and no one wants to help her. Liz is doing the mask wrong. But it's getting so it's every team for themselves a bit. Tara finished her mask.

4/5 Logan and London, Brooke and Scott
6. Michael and Liz -- NON-PHILIMINATION LEG

All teams are still in it. Michael and Liz will encounter a Speed Bump in the next leg.

  3. Hi, you two! I hope a few more come along. This time slot is so not good for so many (including me).

    ReplyDelete
  4. It is a bad slot. Wish it could be earlier.

  5. Hi Jackie, SueGee and Penny. I finally made it to a TAR party.

    ReplyDelete
  6. I don't even watch the show until tomorrow. I can't stay up much past 10 anymore. Even when I was still working I started going to be early because I had to get up so early! I sure don't miss commuting!

  7. My team is doing really well, but I don't want to jinx them. :((

  8. Hi everyone. =)

Yes, even Friday at an earlier time was better than this. Wish they would put it on after Survivor.

    ReplyDelete
  9. I agree with David. After Survivor was the best slot

    ReplyDelete
  10. Hey David. Missed you last night at the Survivor party.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Not sure which one I would do. Sing it would be fun if you could master Italian.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Well, at least we have a few people here! I fear one of these Thursdays there will be a blog party and no one will come.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I'll come when I can. I do work next Thursday, though. But, don't work the night of their finale. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  14. Since I couldn't carry a tune in a bucket, would have to go with the luggage. Feel my back aching already. lol

    ReplyDelete
  15. Some days I have to remind myself what day it is :(

    ReplyDelete
  16. Same here Penny. If I get home in time from dinner date, or if I stay home and don't fall asleep on the couch. That's usually what happens on Thursdays for me. The 10:00 pm time stinks.

  17. Tomorrow I'm going to the racetrack! Only done that once before. Should be fun..

    ReplyDelete
  18. Crazy karaoke in Venice :)))

    ReplyDelete
  19. What kind of racetrack, SueGee?

    ReplyDelete
  20. Getting ready for Derby Saturday here :)))

    ReplyDelete
  21. I think their finale is on June 1. Uh oh, maybe I do work then. I'll have to see. If I do, I'll just schedule myself off. LOL

Sue, the Race track sounds fun. I lived close to Saratoga most of my life, but I have never been to a race track.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I used to love going to the track when I was younger SueGee. Now I know because there is so much time between races to get into too much trouble was the reason.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Yay!!! It's my favorite weekend in May!!

    ReplyDelete
  24. I think Golden Gate Fields is the only track left around here except for the county fair

    ReplyDelete
  25. Yay its my birthday weekend LOL

    ReplyDelete
  26. Actually, some of them are great singers. I don't care if Liz and Michael stay last; however, Brooke is a pain in the butt. Do not like her.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Tara and Joey were smart to get the hotel to get them a water taxi

    ReplyDelete
  28. Happy Birthday, Sue!!! It's my husband's and my 34 anniversary week. Can't believe we've been together that long!

    ReplyDelete
  29. SueGee, we were at Churchill Downs a couple years ago (about two before the Derby). I want to go back for the actual Derby someday.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Happy Birthday SueGee. =)

    ReplyDelete
  31. Happy Birthday SueGee and Happy Anniversary Penny! CHEERS

    ReplyDelete
  32. *two weeks before the derby. It would have helped if I typed that word *weeks* lol

  33. I went to high school in Saratoga County, NY. My high school graduation was held at Saratoga Performing Arts Center, home of the rock concerts and NYC Ballet summers. And, of course, near Saratoga horse racing. "I hear you went to Saratoga and your horse naturally won ... you're so vain, I bet you think this song is about you." We used to go ogle the rich people's Rolls Royces and I'd go early in the morning to watch them exercise the horses.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Happy anniversary Penny! We had our 20th a couple weeks ago. We lived in sin for a few years so it should be more like 30+ years now.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Happy Aniversary Paenny =)

N.M. still has a few Horse race tracks around the state. The closest one to me also has a casino in it. To tempting to get into trouble. lol

    ReplyDelete
  36. My son lives in Iowa and they combined the racetracks with casinos so the buildings are used all 12 months of the year.

    ReplyDelete
  37. We have casinos in ours as well

    ReplyDelete
  38. Jackie, I loved going to the Saratoga Performing Arts Center. It was my first concert to see the Cowsills. That would be so cool seeing all the rich people dress up. LOL. When I was stationed in Germany, I took a trip to Monaco. OMGosh, the cars we saw were unbelievable. Rolls Royce, Austin Bently, Lamborgini, etc. It was unreal. "You're So Vain" is one of my favorite songs.

Sue, anniversaries should be when you first meet and it lasts! So, 30 years it is!!

    ReplyDelete
  39. I cannot stand Brooke. She is so needy. Can't do anything without someone helping her.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I love Becca and Floyd. They are such a fun couple. Looking on the bright side all the time.

    ReplyDelete
  41. See you guys next week!! I've got to go early tonight!!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Bye SueGee. Have fun on your Birthday. =)

    ReplyDelete
  43. Have fun, SueGee!! See you next week.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Happy anniversary, Penny! At my SPAC graduation -- we had it there because the graduating classes at my school were nearly 1,000 kids and it was big enough to hold all guests and grads. We stayed for the concert that night. It was Melanie (Lay Down Candles in the Rain, I've Got a Brand New Pair of Rollerskates). I also saw the Cowsills there.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Have a great weekend, SueGee!!!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Becca and Floyd are a joy to watch on the show.

    ReplyDelete
  47. 1000 people in a graduation class!!??? Never heard of that! Holy Cow!! I graduated with only 66 people! LOL.

I would have loved to have seen Melanie. Yeah, was a huge fan of the Cowsills. My first concert. When we were stationed in California, hooked back up with them. It was fun.

  48. I bet it's not an elimination week. It's never good to U-turn, it comes back to bite you.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I like Becca and Floyd too. Happy that Liz and Michael get to keep racing.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I knew it! They never get eliminated. Yet, my group was eliminated first time they were last. Crap. LOL

Thank you so much, Jackie. This is sot greatly appreciated. I do work the next two weeks, but will be here for the last two.

See everyone next Wednesday for Survivor!!

    ReplyDelete
  51. I'm happy for Michael and Liz. She so didn't want to let him down.

    Thank you guys for coming!

    ReplyDelete
  52. Thanks Jackie. =) Glad they get to keep racing.

    Everyone have a great week.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Oh no!!! Looks like Tara and Joey get U-turned :(((

    ReplyDelete
  54. NIght everyone. Thanks Jackie!! Have a great weekend.
