BB19: Power of Veto Episode Blog Party -August 2

As the show airs here, I'll be live-blogging and constantly updating this entry -- refresh the page to get the latest! As always, the real party is in the comments area. Come join in on the fun!

Time for a recap!

Okay, nominations are over. Paul is thinking all is okay because he put Cody and Jessica on the block together and nothing seems to have happened. Jason feels safe being the third person on the block.

Paul has Jessica and Cody come up to his HoH room. He tells them that he believed they had safety when he put them on the block. Jessica tells him that it's bad for him, drops a hint or two. Paul tells them nine people wanted them up. Cody gets quite argumentative. Paul tells him to leave the room. They argue back and forth. Cody calls him a character on a show. Paul tells Cody to grow up.

Now Jessica is telling Cody that "at the end of the day," this is a game. She tells him he escalated the problems. She tells him it's the second time he's made her go through this. She's ticked. He seems to think nothing's his fault. She tells him he's a hothead and wonders if it's like that outside the house.  She needs to be alone.

"That's why I'm single," Cody mutters.

Josh spouts off about Cody. Mark tells him to shut up. Ohhh ... a heated kerfuffle complete with name calling. Josh starts up with his circus music, grabbing pots to bang. Mark goes to him, grabs the pots and acted like he was going to swing one. Kevin intervened.

Little boys at war, I say.

Cody brings Josh into one of the bedrooms and they grouse about Josh. Mark tells us he was bullied as a kid, but no one does it since he went to the gym. Cody tells Mark that Jessica is mad because he reacted to Paul telling her to lower her voice. He says her default will be to always blame him. Whatever.

Paul goes to Jessica, telling her that he assumed Cody and her had safety and he would put two others on the block. Jessica tells him that she'll need to use the hex. Paul admits to being a character on the show, but says he won't fist fight with some kid. He tells her Cody is highly emotional and she needs to make a decision.

Paul tells Elena he knows about the hex and it will make it a "dud week." He tells Elena that if people can't get Cody, they'll go after her (Jessica). Paul, the Showmance Killer, is back. He wants Elena to convince Jessica to let Cody go this week.

Elena tries to convince Jessica not to use the hex and let Cody go home.

Jessica tells Cody that she represents her family and her job, must act responsibly and not be a hothead getting into fistfights. Cody is weakened when confronted by her. Will he start making victim noises? He tells her he just wants her to be happy. She is worried that's how he acts in the real world. He admits, at times, yes. Not the right answer, buckaroo!

Elena honestly thinks Jessica's best move would be to let Cody go home. Meanwhile, Cody and Mark are talking. Jessica thinks his behavior is unacceptable. Cody tells Mark that Jessica has a chance to win if he's out of the game.

Oh geez, Jessica and Cody are hugging again. He tells her he wants her to win the game because she can. He tells her that she would do better without him. He also said he hates Paul and will react every time such as he did. He has no friends, is single and has little family. Oh my, boy does have enough issues to be a lifetime subscription!

Finally, the BB Weather Update airs, most go to the HoH room to study the BB storms shown on videos to them. The storms are all named after evicted hamsters.

Veto Player Pick time -- Paul picks two chips out of the box. He gets himself. Because of that, he goes for Kevin. The other one is Raven. Because of the three nominees, the pick is done this way.

This comp is a hoot! Jason Thinder is first. They have to fill in the name of the storm while reading from the teleprompter screen during rough weather. Cody Cloud. Raven Rain. Kevin Lightning. Jessica Puddle. Paul Bluster.

Raven - 16
Cody - 15
Paul - 22
Jason - 15
Kevin - 16
Jessica - 12

Paul wins the Power of Veto!

Paul talks more to Jessica. He tells her that Cody said in the beginning that the only reason he wanted to keep Alex and Jason in the house was because they would take out Jessica and Raven. She makes a deal with Paul that she has safety from the block and Alex out.

And, that's how they leave things ...

Hello! Hi Ms Jackie, Master Vincent *scritcha-scritch*

Hey everyone! I brought JERK CHICKEN, in honor of Paul, and Stella of course.

Sorry Sue - that sounds miserable. :( Have a cool Stella!

Bring on the show. Ugh, will be hard to watch.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Hello everyone. =)

I wonder if they will show the mess that went on and how they will edit it if they do. Who will CBS decide was the bad guy and who the good. Fight, Fight, Fight!!

    ReplyDelete
  8. ^^ Jerk Chicken in honor of Paul! LMAO

    ReplyDelete
  9. Agree, David. Bring on the fights, lol

    ReplyDelete
  10. Yes, pass me a Stella Petals!!

    ReplyDelete
  11. How stupid is Jody? Absolute morons

    ReplyDelete
  12. Don't they realize that next week they will b targets?

    ReplyDelete
  13. Monty - I love fried mozz, it's my fave! MMMmmm thank you! Stella? *sliding a cool one*

PS - My profile pic is Cody's Marine pic, b/c many are questioning his ever serving. Not necessarily in here, but in the BB House. I think it's a good pic of him, plus I like Cody, so I hope it's OK that I use his pic for tonight)

Who was it in here that coined the term, "FriendSHEEP"? It is brilliant! ♥

    ReplyDelete
  14. Hi everyone!!

Pinot Grigio is chilling with the Stella :)

    Enjoy!!

    ReplyDelete
  15. Cody asking "You do what 9 people tell you"? has to
be one of the dumbest statements ever

    ReplyDelete
  16. Hi Jackie and everyone!

    ReplyDelete
  17. TBC - thank you! Pinot, perfect!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Hey Josh...fyi..you are the joke

    ReplyDelete
  19. I don't think I could last in that house with these people.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Don't know about the edit, but it was really Paul that set off the fight with Cody. Why does Paul think Cody should be happy that he got nominated?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Good for Big Brother. Opposite sides of the house. Too bad Mark didn't leave the room in the first place. Bad choice.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Seriously, why do those other morons even laugh at Josh. If I had to listen to the circus pan banging, I would go nuts, whether he was my ally or not. It's annoying just on my TV. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  23. Josh is a horrible person

    ReplyDelete
  24. Mark should have been ejected for that

    ReplyDelete
  25. uncartie clearly dislikes anything Cody says...LOL

I know what Cody was saying. It translates as: "Paul, you think you are all that in the House but you are claiming to be a pawn of the rest of the house?" He just wasn't buying Paul's lies about why he nominated Jody. That's why Paul hates him. Cody isn't snowed by him while the rest of the House, even Jessica occasionally, believe his crap.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I love Josh, but only because he goes after people I don't like. If it were reversed I'd hate ho

    ReplyDelete
  27. If Mark was ejected, so should Josh be. Banging pans in my face is over the line also.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Paul to me is almost unwatchable.......channel flip.....mute.....channel flip

    ReplyDelete
  29. Hey Cheryl, Glenn, Sharon, Joe, Ed, Penny, Artie, and anyone I missed.

Josh is my pool pick, I would rather drown.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Joe if 9 out of 12 people want someone on the block you listen to them.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Ed - agree!

    Joe - yes.

And! What they didn't show was that PAUL told Josh to get out the pans! The pans were Paul's idea.

    ReplyDelete
  32. It's not reparable because of what Cody did?!?!? Paul was the one yelling from the top of the stairs after Cody left the room...

    ReplyDelete
  33. plus, the pots & pans had gone on several minutes.

    ReplyDelete
  34. The two dunces are just hot they aren't going to be safe the next few weeks
    Paul did the right thing

    ReplyDelete
  35. No Cheryl, he doesn't. Not ever. And all he talks about is Cody, Cody, Cody. It's like he is obsessed with Cody. Read Jokers - all Paul's dialogue is "cody"

    ReplyDelete
  36. Paul is playing a good game.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Say what you want, it was working until Paul took Jason off and the blow up in the yard. Another bad move but that time it was on Paul's part.

    ReplyDelete
  38. ^^Petals "Josh is my pool pick, I would rather drown." LOL
You're channeling Jessica today. She wants to grab Alex's hair and hold her under until she drowns!" :D

    ReplyDelete
  39. Artie - Mark removed the pans from his face. This edit didn't show the whole thing. Obviously, the producers saw that Josh was instructed to do what he did, and that it went on a lot longer than shown here.

    ReplyDelete
  40. uncartie - If you are the leader, you guide the 9 people to YOUR wishes, you don't cater to theirs. Otherwise, you are NOT HOH. And especially with Paul pretending to be the King of the House, he can't pretend that he's NOT calling the shots. Paul is playing well, but he is full of crap and they all seem to buy it EXCEPT Cody.

Even Jess. Look at her even considering letting Cody go home to make Paul happy. Those people have NEVER treated Jess as one of the "gang" even when Cody was out. Yet, there she is talking to The Godfather about what she should do to help her game. HELLO!!! Paul doesn't (and shouldn't) care about anyone's game but HIS OWN. Yet some of those folks seem to think he has their best interests at heart.

Paul deserves to win, he's playing the best. But Cody is 100% right about him and Paul's relationship to the House, but no one is listening...not even Jess.

    ReplyDelete
  41. LOL, Sharon.

Monty - what is the drinking word? Meatball?

    ReplyDelete
  42. Joe - agree. I was so worried Paul would get in to her head. Jessica ONLY agreed to it to Paul to SHUT UP. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  43. Jokers, like the comments here, are often from those who either "hate" or "love" someone in the house. I wouldn't take anything there as gospel! Like here, it's often personal comments. They even, though they catch and remove, get fake updates. It's a good site, but unless you see for yourself, take all with a grain of salt.

    ReplyDelete
  44. The FriendSHEEP meeting (WHO coined it? It's awesome)

    ReplyDelete
  45. But, here's the facts. The pans weren't in Mark's face. He charged Josh. He could have went to the LR or one of the bedrooms. He made a bad choice.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Drinking words: Cody and I

    ReplyDelete
  47. yes, Jackie - Jokers misses a lot. The updates are not what they used to be.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Jessica ain't that stupid Christmas

    ReplyDelete
  49. Don't buy it, Jessica, Hannukah is full of Paul's crap!

    ReplyDelete
  50. Mark should have left the room not gone toward Josh. But, honestly, I'm not sure how much of that I could take. Wasn't that the second day of pans, as it was?

    ReplyDelete
  51. Hothead? Try Psycho time bomb

    ReplyDelete
  52. I agree Monty - he should have just left the room, but I feel like Josh would have followed and it would have escalated. Glad it ended where it did.

The worst victims of the Josh Show are the pieces of ruined cookware.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I think Cody really cares about Jessica, but I'm not sure she cares about him. I mean, he did the "adult thing" and gave her space because she wanted it, but she blames him for not...what...fighting for her?

    ReplyDelete
  54. Wrong question to ask fer Cody!

    ReplyDelete
  55. Yes, Joe. He'd started it earlier that morning.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Hey Everyone! I brought some nachos! Nice and hot out of the oven... AND watermelon margaritas!

    ReplyDelete
  57. Heavy show tonight. Bring on the POV comp, lol

    ReplyDelete
  58. YUM Judi - watermelon margaritas? mmmmm

    ReplyDelete
  59. Lol, Petals (8:29). I bet those pans are bent all to hell. :)))

    ReplyDelete
  60. See, again, I really think Cody is crying for help. Obviously, the BB House is NOT the best place to get that help.

Has anyone interviewed his family or friends? I wonder if they would say that his military service changed him. I know he said something about being estranged from his mother, but there must be someone in his life.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Not sure. I don't think we're going to hear meatball tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  62. I didn't really say Jokers "misses a lot." I said many of the comments in their forums are as biased as the personal comments here. I wouldn't use them as examples of the truth.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Monty is right about the pans and let's not forget that Mark previously threw a drink in Josh's face. Mark should have been ejected or at least a penalty nomination

    ReplyDelete
  64. He has his daughter, Joe. He says he gets along with the babymama, and that he sees his daughter often.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Josh broke one of the pots in the yard fracas. Hopefully, they'll take it out of his stipend.

    ReplyDelete
  66. It's funny. I started as a Christmas Elf and hated Cody. Now, I'm on to New Year's and hoping Cody wins...or at least finds some peace.

I mean, he was way over the top in his HOH. But he really doesn't appear to me to be doing much of anything since his return. His temper is no worse than Paul, Mark, Josh, or most of the girls.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Yes - Mark DID begin the Josh battle with the pickle juice/hot sauce. That was actionable, terrible. Mark SHOULD have been removed from the house after that, IMO.

    ReplyDelete
  68. It's kind of hard not to feel for Cody... :(

    ReplyDelete
  69. Elena thinks she's in with the crowd..lol

    ReplyDelete
  70. Holy Crap, we are 35 minutes in and it's all been a Soap Opera.

    ReplyDelete
  71. So I've been wondering, just how long has Josh been a five year old?

    ReplyDelete
  72. Actually, remind me, who told Mark to throw the pickle juice in Josh's face?

    ReplyDelete
  73. You fell for the low man in the gene pool of Jess

    ReplyDelete
  74. Jody relationship gets tonights edit.....avoiding spending time on the bullying??

    ReplyDelete
  75. Run, Jessica, run...

    ReplyDelete
  76. OMG! Cody really can't win. Now he's offering to evict himself for Jessica's sake and she's mad at him for that.

Can we all get together and find Cody a therapist?

If Christmas can see a doctor while in the House, can't Cody see a therapist in the Diary Room?

    ReplyDelete
  77. IMO, Cody does much better and is a little more pleasant when he/Jessica don't have HOH control. When all the BS was happening, he actually tried to get her away from it so she wouldn't lose control. He even did some laughing over it.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Monty - I keep hearing "pivot" on the feeds, LOL (imagine Ross from friends screaming it)
Josh does keep saying Meatball on feeds, but maybe we won't hear it again tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  79. The bullying was after the POV, wasn't it? I imagine we may not see any of that until tomorrow.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Ed -- Elena told Mark to throw the pickle juice, if memory serves.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Joe, it was Elena told Mark to toss the pickle juice.
When he actually did it, then she tried to say she didn't mean it.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Yeah, the fight on Monday will be tomorrow. It happened after the veto meeting.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Yes, she did Jackie then said she didn't he'd actually do it. @@

    FINALLY the veto comp

    ReplyDelete
  84. I've liked Cody from the beginning, but not Jessica so much. But I've grown to like her now; she isn't stupid and wants to PLAY the game.

Cody is painted as a psycho in & out of the house, but I don't see that. Maybe I've known too many real psychos in my life...

Joe - Elena told Mark to throw the juice. Mark would drink p*** if she asked him to. @@
And you know what's neat? You & I usually never agree on the BB people, but I think we are agreeing this season.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Sorry Josh, Paul is "my boy"...you really have been possessed by the Devil, kid. Pretty soon, Josh is going to be running around banging pans and yelling "friendship".

    ReplyDelete
  86. Is Jessica cold-blooded? LOL. The other HG are half naked and she's wrapped in a wool blanket.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Iowa? Kansas? Sweden? Wherever...

    ReplyDelete
  88. The running joke in the house is that the HGs are Paul's 'dogs'. But Josh is really like that! He desperately craves attention & approval from anyone, especially someone in a perceived power position. Josh would strangle Cody if Paul asked him.

Meanwhile, Raven, Matt & Xmas will share a life-raft to the end of the game. (PS - did you all hear that Raven also has arthritis and requires surgery on her knees?)

    ReplyDelete
  89. I agree with EVERYTHING you have said Joe!

    ReplyDelete
  90. If they keep naming places, maybe they're get something right, Joe. Lol

    ReplyDelete
  91. Peeking in quickly from work. Hi everyone. Thank you, Jackie, for hosting us. Greatly appreciate it.

    Have I missed anything new?

    ReplyDelete
  92. Did they all have the same things to read? Why did Jessica have all those tongue twisters?

    ReplyDelete
  93. Joe - LOL, right?

Question - Anyone who has had an operation & been given narcotics Rx, you know how they effect your moods? Is it fair that Xmas is allowed to continue the game on narcotics? Just curious. See, my opinion is that she should have been asked to leave upon hearing the severity of her injury.
    {she wouldn't lose her 'opportunity' altogether; BB could ask her back next season}

    ReplyDelete
  94. Christmas is far from done in this game

    ReplyDelete
  95. Elaborate scenery on this season. Bigger budget, or are they using the alcohol funds ?

    ReplyDelete
  96. Wow... poor Raven has a lot of health issues yet when she is firing all pistols who would think that? I wonder if BB worried about her being able to partake of the competitions without causing more health problems for her!?!

    ReplyDelete
  97. Points for keeping the umbrella

    ReplyDelete
  98. How did they score that competition?

    ReplyDelete
  99. Hey Penny... you'll have to watch when you get home!!
Almost all has been Fight Night, with Weather comp thrown in towards the end. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  100. tbc, for every storm they named correctly.

    ReplyDelete
  101. With THIS group I am glad they haven't given them unlimited alcohol.... Wow it would be like dinomite with a short fuse!

    ReplyDelete
  102. I don't have a problem with them leaving Christmas in the game. Lots of HGs have been taking prescription drugs in the past. Probably not narcotics, but definitely mood-altering drugs. Frankly, she probably would have been evicted if she hadn't been injured. She's become less of a threat.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Kevin & Josh are my faves - the are so funny together.

    ReplyDelete
  104. I thought some of them did better than the 15-16 points they got then. Weird

    ReplyDelete
  105. Didn't Paul win this comp last year too?

    ReplyDelete
  106. I'm not sure what that convo was about. Couldn't that be Cody pretending to have a final 2 deal with The Invisible Man?

    ReplyDelete
  107. Honestly, Paul can't believe that Jess is serious there.

    ReplyDelete
  108. They're going to show the meeting tomorrow.

    ReplyDelete
  109. How is being on narcotics an advantage? All it causes is poor judgment and memory issues.

    ReplyDelete
  110. Shannon - I don't have nearly the BB memory that do Jackie & Monty...I can barely remember yesterday. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  111. She needs to throw out those stupid caterpillar-like false eyelashes!!

    ReplyDelete
  112. Jess would have to be a moron to not use the Hex after Paul left her on the block. The only way to sell that deal is to pull her down so she's definitely safe and then she could decide whether or not to save Cody. With her on the block, she has no safety at all, so she'd be an idiot to trust Paul not to evict her along with her Hex.

Either Paul doesn't believe she would honor the deal or he's just arrogant enough to believe that he could talk her into not using the Hex while on the block herself.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Thanks for hosting, Jackie and everyone else for putting up with me. I :)

    ReplyDelete
  114. Thanks Jackie =)

Hope to see everyone tomorrow night. Fight! Fight! Fight!

    ReplyDelete
  115. I think Christmas should have left the show as soon as they knew they had to operate (like in Survivor) on her... whether medicine affects her or not Petals! They should at least have her name removed from the POV grab bag... it's not fair to the person who picks her name! They also SHOULDN'T cater the competitions to her...

    ReplyDelete
  116. I don't mean Xmas has an advantage, I meant it alters moods. She has been exceptionally cruel this week, seemingly feeding like a starving wolf on the chaos. I can't imagine a normal chick of her age (and supposed) sophistication behaving like she has, if it not were for the narcs.

it's just my opinion, not a clinical observation or point of debate.

    ReplyDelete
  117. Somehow, I feel like we need a 2 hour episode tomorrow. We've got a POV meeting, further negotiation with Jody, a night of bullying, then the Hex being used or Jessica being evicted. How is that all going to fit into one hour?

    ReplyDelete
  118. Exactly, Joe. I figure he just thought she would use it anyways so why make ruin things with Jason. Who knows??

    Thanks, Jackie.

Will see all of you in the comments.

    ReplyDelete
  119. When I was on narcotics for knee replacements, they made me sloop more, think fuzzy and get constipated. With the exception of the constipation, that might be good for surviving the house.

    ReplyDelete
  120. Well, Joe. We know they won't have a live eviction vote and eviction, lol

    ReplyDelete
  121. Sleep, not sloop! And I'm not on anything now!

    ReplyDelete
  122. Even constipation might help in the house...you can get some alone time in the bathroom...

    ReplyDelete
  123. Thanks for hosting, Jackie! That went way too fast...

    ReplyDelete
  124. Thanks so much Jackie - this can't be easy, especially this week!

I have a note for myself to make a donation to the pool blog, you absolutely deserve it, so does Vincent - he must need some stronger catnip after this week, LOL!

See everyone tomorrow - have a great evening.

    ReplyDelete
  125. Thanks for hosting Jackie.
    See y'all tomorrow night!

uncartie always gives us unvarnished opinions. We may not always agree or like certain HGs, but he has a talent for being uncannily spot-on most of the time.

    ReplyDelete
  126. Do we know that, Monty? IT would be funny if they planned tomorrow's schedule around not needing to vote and then Jessica didn't use the Hex. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  127. Jackie - some people sleep AND sloop.

Not only the drugs, but the repeated (like what? Twice weekly) visits outside the house? Who knows what information she may be receiving?

I'm just saying that if Jessica hurt herself and was going to DR every 4hrs and leaving the house every 48, there would be a huge outcry.

    ReplyDelete
  128. Christmas did get information while out of the house and they had the live vote. She knew what the votes were before hers. She asked who voted second and the unknown hinky voteduring that eviction. She knows it was Kevin but has kept that to herself.

Who knows what other information she might get. But if she is, it is not helping her at all. =)

    ReplyDelete
  129. coulc cody be suffering from post traumatic syndrome?

    ReplyDelete
  130. Joe, if she doesn't use the hex, they'll vote her out and keep Cody. It's been discussed. She'll use it. ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  131. SIGH, I have to work tomorrow night, too. I'll peek in. LOL. Just can't get caught.

    ReplyDelete
  132. After what happened the other night, I believe Cody can behave. He was the one who pulled Jessica away. They sat there the whole time and did not say a peep. Mind you, most of the household was pretty bad. They were VERY bad. Cody just sat there. Never got up and confronted any one. I hope they show that Thursday night.

I believe Cody is unhappy and frustrated. He didn't like his last job or his life. I am sure he probably was not happy in the military. I've known people like that. I have a brother like that. He was very unhappy being home, so he joined the Air Force. He was unhappy in the Air Force. After 8 years, he got out and worked for our father. He was unhappy working for our father. He joined the Post Office. He's been there for decades and he's unhappy working for the Post Office. He feels his life is miserable. LOL It never changes.

That is why I believe Cody is just unhappy with his life. Unhappy people lose their temper. However, they need to show what happened the other night. They need to show Cody acting completely differently. Just saying.

    ReplyDelete
  133. The Joker is one site I do not read. I do not like how it is put together as a blog. Others are much better, especially our own Jackie's!

    ReplyDelete
  134. Joe, I think they have to vote, especially if Jess doesn't use the Halting Hex; but, I think she'll use it. For some reason, Paul still thinks there is a worse curse coming if Jess uses the Hex. I thought the temptation competitions were the curse? I really love to see Paul worry about this. Him not really knowing drives him completely batty. So much so, that if she uses the Hex, he already plans to have his minions non-stop harass them during the HOH comp. LOL I love this.

    ReplyDelete
  135. She has to use it before the vote, and she will use it. :))

    ReplyDelete
  136. Joe, I'm betting they don't show half of what went on the other night. They wouldn't want to make Paul and crew look too bad. LOL

    ReplyDelete
