The Amazing Race 30: January 10 Blog Party

I'm ready for tonight's show! How about you? I'll be live blogging the major happenings the best I can as they air here on the East Coast. But the real party is in the comments area -- come join in on the fun!

SueGee, or as we affectionately like to call her, SqueeGee, has made the random picks for the blog pool. We don't start with the first team out because we don't even get to know them. (Sorry, Ring Girls.) Here are the picks:

#TeamBigBrother (Cody & Jessica) DeLee, ChicMc, Megan H
#TeamChomp (Joey & Tim) David, Chrob61, tbc
#TeamExtreme (Kristi & Jen) Janice from GA/FL, Kristen From Ohio
#TeamFirefighters (Eric & Daniel) Judi Sweeney, Indiana Jane
#TeamGoatYoga (April & Sarah) Sharon N, Merrilee
#TeamIndyCar (Alex & Conor) SueGee, Brian, Brenda
#TeamOceanRescue (Lucas & Brittany) Donna in FL, Glenn Allen
#TeamSlamDunk (Cedric & Shawn) Nickelpeed, Willie in NC
#TeamWellStrung (Trevor & Chris) Fred aka TwoBlackAces, Petals
#TeamYale (Henry & Evan) Jackie, Ed in Ohio

Ready? Let's GO!

Ten teams remain. Who will be eliminated NEXT?

They're headed to Antwerp, Belgium. Mmm ... chocolate! All teams will be on the same flight. Well, of course, as long as all make the flight! Once they land in Amsterdam, they need to take a train to Antwerp.

Oh, the Roadblock is WAY up high on a crane, called Sky Climb. Oh my. Cedric and Shawn find it first. They have to climb a chain ladder and get their next clue before the crane descends.

Onto the Detour. Printing presses are the topic. They need to print a clue. Or the have to evaluate three diamonds.

Cody seems to be taking to the printing idea. But then the Yale team came along and they figured out holding the card backwards to the light gives them the exact mirror image they need for the letters.

Whoa! The NBA guys figured out the printing and are currently in 1st place! They are followed by the Ski Girls.

Now it's "Time to go head to head." A member from each team must race in a French Fry costume steering a dolly of "frites", loser races the next team. Jess and Cody will go against the NBA guys as the Ski Gals got a bit lost. The last loser from the race will result in that team being eliminated.

Cody wins over Cedric.

Pit Stop:
1. Cody and Jess -- won $2500 each

Uh-oh -- the Twins (Firefighters) switch from the printing Detour to the diamond one which actually seems a lot harder.

To the race - Shawn against Henry.

2. Cedric and Shawn

Race -- Evan against Kristi.

3. Ski Girls

Race - Henry against Chris.

4. Team Well Strung

Race - Alex against Evan

5. Alex and Conor - The Indy Racers

Now Henry is trying again against Lucas

6. Lucas and Brittany

Wah ... the Yalies are my blog pool team. They're wearing themselves out racing and not winning!

Race - Evan against Tim

7. Tim and Joey Chestnut

Race - Henry against April ... FINALLY

8. Henry and Evan!

April against Daniel

9. The Twin Firefighters

Team Goat Yoga -- April and Sarah have been Philiminated.

Next week has another U-Turn and ... and ... swapping partners?!?!?!

  5. Hi Jackie! Hope you are doing well. Give Vincent and scratch for me. Thank you, Jackie, for hosting us. Really appreciate it.

Hi Joe, Petals, Glenn, tbc, SueGee, and anyone else who follows!!!

    ReplyDelete
  6. Hi everyone!! I brought some Pinot Grigio and chips and salsa! Enjoy!!

    ReplyDelete
  7. There's really no villain among these teams. It would help to have someone to cheer against as well as for. I kind of like all of them, although the yoga girls with their silly fighting were annoying, but I couldn't really dislike them

    ReplyDelete
  8. Hey Glenn!

(And hello to Jackie & Vincent)

    ReplyDelete
  9. Hi Petals, Jackie, et al.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Hey everyone! My first TAR blog, so I'm in the shallow end of the oil, lol.

    ReplyDelete
  11. The height would make me kind of nervous on this task.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Hi again, from my "real" computer! I have nothing alcoholic, but I do have some freshly squeezed OJ and hot buttered popcorn. (weird, i know)

    ReplyDelete
  13. I know, Joe. There's really nobody to hate....yet. LOL

The firemen should do well in this.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Is Goat Yoga when the goats jump on you?

    And...why? LOL

    ReplyDelete
  15. Hello Everyone! I got Team Yale....but if they should falter..... Go Team BB Jody!

    ReplyDelete
  16. Petals, TIDE Roooollllledddd AGAIN!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Yes, Goat Yoga has goats climbing on people as they do yoga. I'd rather just play with baby goats myself.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Petals the Intro from last week said one was a yoga instructer and one had a bunch of Goats say they combined for goat yoga by putting goats on people as they did yoga1

    ReplyDelete
  19. I just want to play with the goats. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  20. Ed - I cannot believe that game. I went to bed (yes, really) after Donald but before kick-off, and was v excited to learn the outcome in the wee hours upon waking. *whew*
From what I hear, the Tide players were uncharacteristically aggressive and unsportsmanlike. I don't like that, but still - RTR!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Penny - me too! Love the goats.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Jackie, We have Team Yale. We'll see if 'youth' & 'smarts' can take them far.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Cody has been very good with letters, last week and this week.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I love goats...they are so naughty!!!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Jackie - I've seen a YouTube video about goats climbing on people doing yoga, but I didn't realize it was a "thing". Wow. It actually looks painful! LOL
Being around the cute goats would be worth the "namaste"

    ReplyDelete
  26. The diamonds look kind of like fun, but that has the most potential (I think) for abyssmal failure.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Joe - the goats at our local petting zoo are notoriously aggressive about being petted & receiving treats, etc. Little kids get knocked down a lot, LOL

    ReplyDelete
  28. These poor ball players have been struggling with letters.

    ReplyDelete
  29. The diamonds are cool because I LOVE THEM!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Diamonds are soooo hard to analyze with microscopic occlusions.

    ReplyDelete
  31. No diamonds better not come up missing!!

    ReplyDelete
  32. My pool pick is #Slamdunk. But I would love for #BigBrother do well, too.

    Go team #slamdunk!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  33. OMG, that is very interesting.

    ReplyDelete
  34. C’mon Joey, switch to the other. I want to see you and Tim in an eating contest....

    ReplyDelete
  35. All the printing teams are lapping the diamond teams

    ReplyDelete
  36. The thing is with printing presses like this, what you're looking at should be backwards because when you print it, it's always the other way. I love the old printing presses.

    ReplyDelete
  37. He's kind of handicapped by his height with that little cart.

    ReplyDelete
  38. YAY, JODY!!! They are cute!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Yes, Joe, his is tall. That cart was very small in comparison to his height.

    ReplyDelete
  40. That diamond challenge was HARD!!! Good on them for pulling that off

    ReplyDelete
  41. Head to Head comp I like it. Team JODY takes it!

    ReplyDelete
  42. That was very smart to bring a mirror.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I love them printing it on their arms....

Switching to diamonds are going to guarantee they are the last team to the pit stop, BUT this is the first time in TAR history that being the last one there doesn't matter. They just have to win the race.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Man, poor NBA could be running the fries race all day.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I hope not, Joe. They are my pool pick.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I'm very skeptical about the goats...they kinda poop everywhere all the time...no climbing on me!!!

    Squeegee

    ReplyDelete
  47. I am glad my team has the mirror. I wonder when the guy proposes to his Girlfriend, I am glad the NBA players finished second.

    ReplyDelete
  48. So much for 'youth' & 'brains'. Team Yale could be in big trouble!

    ReplyDelete
  49. But SueGee, they are pellet poops! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  50. Team yale might need to switchup and let his partner go next race!

    ReplyDelete
  51. Team Chomp lost so much time.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Glenn, Team Yale has been alternating. Unfortunately, they aren't very athletic.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I've never heard Phil talk so much about the teams. Must be a new commentary.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Team Ocean Rescue should be much better athletes than Poor Yale

    ReplyDelete
  55. Penny, I know. I’m hoping they make it through!!

    ReplyDelete
  56. Go team rescue. I feel sorry for team Yale1

    ReplyDelete
  57. Team Yale is gonna need a miracle

    ReplyDelete
  58. The problem is they are clumsy. So experience isn't really helping them. They keep running the carts into the curbs and the planters. They should get plenty of rest before some of those diamond teams get there.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Last week, Phil was especially chatty with Miss Iceland. What's with the suddenly vocal Phil? I'm used to a quiet Phil with the active eyebrow. I'm a bit disconcerted by his suddenly channeling Jeff Probst.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Maybe Team Yale could use a set of training wheels (4>2)

    ReplyDelete
  61. How funny, he's a french fry champ, too! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  62. I feel so bad for them!! How frustrating!!

    ReplyDelete
  63. Goat Yoga is the only hope for the Yale team

    ReplyDelete
  64. JOE! How funny! My husband said the same thing!!! Hahahahahaha

    ReplyDelete
  65. Henry's got to be aggressive here. Go Henry.

    ReplyDelete
  66. OMG. LOL. Face plant at the finish

    ReplyDelete
  67. Finally Yale wins......Barely!

    ReplyDelete
  68. So, is this a non-elimination? TeamYoga or TeamFirefighters?

    ReplyDelete
  69. “He lost his frites”. Lol

    ReplyDelete
  70. Actually not sorry to see Team Goat Yoga go home. I didn't hate them, but they were probably my least favorite team

    ReplyDelete
  71. This hour went really fast! Poor TeamYoga.

    ReplyDelete
  72. I think this is the first time TAR named all the teams..I guess they are Twitter handles? I always liked the ones us chatters and the bloggers came up with,

    ReplyDelete
  73. Jackie, thank you for letting us come here. Appreciate it so much. Will see each other next week. Have a great week; and those getting snow and sleet, stay safe.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Thank you, Jackie! Love seeing you guys! XOXOXOXOX

    ReplyDelete
  75. Thank you, Jackie, for hosting!! Thank you, SueBee, for putting together the pool.

    Always fun!!

    See y’all next week.

    ReplyDelete
  76. That was a fun leg. I think I'm going to be happy no matter who wins this race. First time ever I kind of like all the teams. [Jody, still my faves!]

    ReplyDelete
  77. G'nite All!

    Thanks Jackie & SueGee!

    ReplyDelete
  78. I think it's funny Phil is so chatty. But, I guess it made the French Fry race exciting! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  79. Enjoy the January thaw my fellow East Coasters!

    See y'all next week!

    ReplyDelete
  80. After the bickering last week, I wasn't all too keen on Goat Yoga. I'm glad the Yalies finally got through.

    Thanks for coming by!

    ReplyDelete
  81. Me, too Joe. Still kind of early, but my favs are Jody; but so far it doesn't matter who wins.

Uh oh, what does Jessica do next week?

    ReplyDelete
  82. And I got another new name "SueBee" just like Romper Room???

    See you next week

    ReplyDelete
  83. Ha! That's the fastest my pool person (from anything) has ever been eliminated!! Nice... free to cheer on anyone from now on.

    ReplyDelete
  84. SueGee, that was me. Lol. I’m so sorry!!! My friend from college was always “Sue B.” It must have been a Freudian slip.... sorry, but still chuckling...

    ReplyDelete
  85. Thanks Jackie =)

    And Thanks SueGee. =)

Gooooo chomp. Me and you, Tbc, got the eating guys. I think there had better be a eating challenge soon or we may get eliminated. lol

    ReplyDelete
  86. David, yes, we definitely need an eating contest... bring on the hot dogs!!

    ReplyDelete
  87. Wow.... my guys just barely made it! Thanks Jackie and SueGee!!!

    ReplyDelete
