Okay, Survivor fans and those in the pool ... the show has started here on the East Coast. I won't be live-blogging it per se, but I will update this on and off with important events and/or some thoughts of mine. As always, everyone is welcome to chat it up in comments!
Wow, that rewards challenge was brutal ... and Fang actually won! They're sending Sugar to Exile Island.
That seems to be the wrong choice ... she's found four clues and has it!
Yikes, Fang won Immunity!
Paloma is out, Sugar didn't use her (and Ace's evidently) idol.
GO JACQUIE
ReplyDeleteThat guy's such a charmer, NOT!
ReplyDeleteWhat is his name, the 49 year old complainer negative wedding videographer. I am not so hot on him
ReplyDeleteRandy
ReplyDeletetrying to get a glimpse of the good drs "baggage" i've read so much about.......must admit though..went back over the first show....couldn't see much....LITERALLY...didn't see MUCH.....
ReplyDeleteHey all,
ReplyDeleteI was on vacation last week but did get a chance to check out Survivor. Have to admit, when I got home and saw which survivor was my pick-- Matty Whitmore--I didn't remember him! Which I am taking as a good sign that he may last a while since he didn't stand out yet. Good Luck to everyone tonight.
RJM in SC
Go Go Kenny! Your romantic crush is gone, now let's play SMART!
ReplyDeleterandy gets on my nerves too
ReplyDeleteMy husband said he's Randy. Me too Nancy -- they have the clip on TMZ but it's digitized out. I have it on Tivo but am not sure I care enough to find it, lol

ReplyDeleteRJM in SC
Eloquent Randy is from Missouri, right? My homey!
ReplyDeletedo randys eyes look a bit odd to you?
ReplyDeleteOh no! Someone on this show has a rumored "largess"? Not another reality show crotch watch!? hahahahaha
ReplyDeleteC'mon in Petals, the water's fiiiiine.
ReplyDeleteIs your suit leopard like Sugars? I know you don't love her but I do love her leopard outfits
Looks like Fang is going down the same path tonight. ugh
ReplyDeleteRandy, lay off my GC!
Speaking of leopards, there is a shot of one! And I was feeding them all morning at the zoo today....
ReplyDeletePENCIL!!!! LOL hahahahahaha
ReplyDeletePENCIL!!!! LOL hahahahahaha
ReplyDeleteSyd - since finding out that I am assigned to Miss Sugar, I've grown a slight fondness for her open Betty Page-esque manner.
ReplyDeletei'm ace....and i'm getting on my nerves
ReplyDeleteCan I just say that I'm so HAPPY that it's that Survivor time of year? woo weeeeeeeeeeeeeee
ReplyDeleteNancy - haha! Getting on your own nerves. I'm Sugar, and I'm sweet on myself!
ReplyDeleteThere are some cute boys this season...
ReplyDeleteI thought you might come to like that in her. I know I do. However, I don't like that Project Runway chick who has a different version of the same thing.
ReplyDeleteCharlie is loving this!
ReplyDeleteGC's weak man DAN game isn't working. ugh
ReplyDeleteRE: the crotch watch: I think Crystal may have the biggest package...

ReplyDeleteooohhhhh sorry sugar....find the idol!
I know, I love Bob, and that was a nice comeback from Sugar.
ReplyDeleteWow, I've never rooted so hard for a Survivor team to win. That challenge was awesome.
ReplyDeleteAnd, Sugar goes to exile. What will she pick, the clue or the apple? I say the clue and she finds it, the idol. Just guessing.
I'm in my teeny-weeny bikini and jumping in the pool feet first. Funny thing, it's still warm enough here in San Diego to be in a pool.
ReplyDeleteSydney, how's our Olympic gal doing tonight?
I had to laugh at the order of these next postings.
Petals said: "wooHOO! Got on my bathin' suit for the Survivor pool!"
Very next post, Sydney said: "Hey! A baby hippo! Don't see that everyday."
I nearly spit out my iced tea on that one. Timing is everything.
i'm such a woos....i'd be begging to be thrown off
ReplyDeleteJoy -- do you have Dan?
ReplyDeleteOh, thanks Monty for Randy's name
ReplyDeleteDelee said...
ReplyDeleteMy goodness...Bob is emaciated already

HAHA Laurie...good ones.
ReplyDeleteI know I saw the baby and went ahhh too.
lol RJM re:the package/baggage/ banana
ReplyDeletehow many camera men do you think are with sugar? like, i'd be freakin out to be there alone
ReplyDeleteSydney, yes, Terry in CA and I share Dan.
ReplyDeleteI/m so glad they finally won something. I have no faves in terms of tribe yet, btu I hate it when only one team always wins as a viewer.....
ReplyDeleteAce is somehow making everyone think that was all good? Boy, he's good.
ReplyDeletePaloma agrees with me... heh
ReplyDeletethe scenery is gorgeous!!
ReplyDeletego sugar!!!
Ants love sugar. THey're sweet onher. Oh, and SO IS ACE, in case you guys havent noticed. He hangs all over us!
ReplyDeleteI am sure all are surrounded by armed guards and tribal people. Plus I am sure they are not near well-travelled animal trails.
ReplyDeletePoor Sugar and the ants...yuck!
Okay, because apparently I'm the porn queen of this blog who always knows where to find the naked people (what does that say about me??), I have here a little video for you all that wanted a good view of Marcus. It's slow-mo and set to some hysterical music!
ReplyDeleteWARNING: it's posted on a website that features links to gay porn and some questionable language. If that offends you, don't go there!
Just put your hand up to block the left side of your screen and scroll quickly down to the first video (with the little picture of the devil) :)

Enjoy!
Watch out guys... we're gonna get the idol!
ReplyDeleteOur first tears from Sugar. Why don't they just swim across the lake.... nevermind, she found the crater.
ReplyDeleteLOL Clementine can not wait to see it as I did not see anything on the others.
ReplyDeleteWOOOOHOOOO!!!!! Victory is SWEET as SUGAR!
ReplyDeleteHey Petal's, your gals got Moxy.
ReplyDeleteYes, she found it and I called it first, lol. ;)

ReplyDeleteWTG Sugar Team
ReplyDeleteway to go sugar!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSomehow I knew she'd find the idol... question is, says my husband, will she go back and tell ACe?
ReplyDeleteMelissa, she wore it to Africa
ReplyDeleteright but in the search for the idol, it seemes like she had 2 sets of clothes on.
ReplyDeleteLets just hope she plays it when she SHOULD play it.
ReplyDeleteGood question Sydney's hubby.
ReplyDeleteDan is my poolboy lawyer (or half of him is) and I have to say I'm embarrassed for him not finding the idol last week when Sugar just made it look easy. She deserves the idol.
ReplyDeleteGood call, Monty!
clementine...pmp laughing at your post giving us the naked truth....will prob check out site during vp debate....
ReplyDeleteYay Petals! Our person to root for, Sugar found the immunity idol, hopefully she will be in the game for awhile.
ReplyDeleteDid they say Slip and Slide... I'm in!
ReplyDeleteleopard swimsuits!! here we go!!
ReplyDeletefun and new -- the slippy slide!
ReplyDeletesugar is just a little betty boop!!

Woohooooo FANG won it!
ReplyDeleteOh Bob -- he looks so shell shocked. They better not say he's weak where he should have been strongest and vote him out!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWOW!!! kota heads to tc??
ReplyDeleteDan made up for a lot today in the rewards challenge and Ken did well for Fang in this one.
ReplyDeleteGreat challenge had a bit of everything
ReplyDeleteYea, Kenny! Good job!
ReplyDelete(from me and Txrednekgirl)
Well we know Corrine (sp) wants Paloma or Sugar out... will we see the idol tonight? hmmmm
ReplyDeleteNo fang goes to TC
ReplyDeleteas for CW......i'm guessing bob isn't too well endowed. still trying to study ace and matt
ReplyDeleteI second that. I think that was my favorite Survivor challenge ever. Who can resist a Slip-n-slide. I loved it and my man GC is safe another day.
ReplyDeleteDrats forgot Ugly Betty was on to Tivo it
ReplyDeleteArgh! Nancy, please stop checking out Bob's crotch, immediately!!!!!
ReplyDeletedumb move to tell ACE?
ReplyDeleteSugar playing dumb, but now telling Ace...that is dumb
ReplyDeleteHubby called it, Sydney!
ReplyDeletealtho it looks like he may be true to her?
ReplyDeleteuuuppp...there she goes telling ace....

Wow -- did you see Bob sitting there when Jeff was talking? He looked like the living dead. Like he had "Thriller" make up on
ReplyDeleteTessa your girl Paloma got voted out! Yay Petals - Sugar made it another day!
ReplyDeletemark, that was a bit dramatic...i don't think kota has been on a downward slide......pleaSE.....
ReplyDeleteThat was a great episode. More editing designed to make you think Ace was going home.

sydney...i'm watching debate...
ReplyDeleteSydney, I think the debates are going to be rough!
ReplyDeletei'm dissapointed sarah wore so much black
ReplyDeleteshe always sounds like she comes from chicago (don't take offense..i love that mid-western accent)
ReplyDeletethis could get nasty
Hi Nancy--!
ReplyDeleteThe woman who is questioning these two VP's is writing a favorable book about Obama and it drops tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteOK, as a stylist I will say Palin's outfit is terriffic and fits her like a dream, but I think it;'s a little too tight for the office. Hair got highlighted with just a little gold, blonde, after lightening the base to a more chestnutty color. Make up is fab. And they may have added a little hairpiece in the back.
Byden, nice tie, matches his eyes.
Ok, I'm trying to stay away from the politics, lol.
I live in Chicago and she always sounds like she's talking in circles and saying NOTHING! Just like some fast talking slicksters I know in Chicago! They tell little friendly stories to get you off your guard and NEVER get to the point or answer the question.
ReplyDeleteHI Gayle --
ReplyDeletePalin is sounding very confident again. It would have been painful to see that Couric interview Palin in this hour. Biden is not being long winded either. Seemshe coaching worked on both sides.
Is it my high def TC or is Biden's coloring suddenly off? It looks like his cheeks and forehead are both flushed in some spots and pale green in other spots, like right in the middle of her forehead. Gawd, I hope he doesn't collapes.
ReplyDeleteI am not a Palin fan.
ReplyDeletei like bidens tie....not so sure the lenders were 100% at fault.. yes, they should have not allowed these mortgages...but people have to get some common sense about them and be able to figure out what they can and cannot afford...just a thought
ReplyDeletei like bidens tie....not so sure the lenders were 100% at fault.. yes, they should have not allowed these mortgages...but people have to get some common sense about them and be able to figure out what they can and cannot afford...just a thought
ReplyDeleteI'm watching the debate. Sydney, when I first saw Palin tonight I was trying to figure out what was different. Thanks for letting us know. As an aside, that hair in her eyes bugs me!
ReplyDeleteI won't get political, just want to say it's nice to be a part of history and be able to watch this. I'm old enough to remember the last time this happened!
Sydney: Palin's makeup does look great!
ReplyDeleteI like that they are looking at each other and making some connection (unlike the Obama/McCain debate).
Taking health benefits! Ugh!
Palin just said Barak Obama and Joe Biden xyz. That's interesting because the press were speculating that she might be coached to not ever say their names, but just call them my (or our) opponent.
ReplyDeleteI don't have the converter box attached to the TV so I am not seeing the clarity I would see with it - he looks just a little pink. Probably trying to control his mouth! They were both coached and are trying to be mindful of it.
ReplyDeletesydney... LOVE how you can pinpoint the style of it all!!!
ReplyDeletegayle...i was referring to sarahs accent..not what she was or was not saying. i love that midwestern accent
sydney, biden just looks a little pale and gaunt on my tv...
They told her not to attack them personally. She made an age snide remark against Biden earlier in the week.
ReplyDeleteOops, I meant "Taxing health benefits! Ugh!"
ReplyDeleteI don't want to have to purchase my own health care benefits, when we're in a recession! How many people would give them up to save money (well, more than happens now!)
I have to research this more, because Biden is losing me.
I just can't get past it. The little looks, the things people are saying make her so "down to earth" or relatable... they just don't strike me as Presidential, or Vice Presidential.
ReplyDeleteClem, I know. As much as I admire some of the things McCain has done in his life and career, I really was disappointed when he refused to look at his opponent.
YAWN..........their both a little dry....
ReplyDeleteGayle, I remember that, and then Couric pointed out her running mate was the same age! That was such a torturous interview!
ReplyDeleteoohhh...shes getting a little feisty...
ReplyDeletelooks like bidens been coached to look at her an smile when she takes on her point
She overuses the colloquilisms. Up 'thar in Alaska! She would be more effective if she said it straight.
ReplyDeleteShe is far more effective when she drops that smiley winky thing. She has delivered a few sentances with a serious look and sound and I just feel if she did that more she'd be far more of a true power.
ReplyDeleteOOh she made a good point about the energy thing, but then Biden made a decent save in his comeback.
Nancy, I agree with you - they are a little dry. They're trying too hard to be mindful of each other.
ReplyDeletesmile -- both with blindingly white teeth...not my fave trend.
ReplyDeletei'm getting a little tired hearing about hockey moms too...she needs another expression
ReplyDeletewonder if biden could do something about the bags under his eyes
Since Biden was named VP, each time I've seen him speak, I get the feeling he forgets he's not running for Prez as he had hoped. He almost forgets to mention Barak.
ReplyDeleteCreepy smile at Palin.... My eyes! My eyes!
i would like to see america producing a lot more of its own oil
ReplyDeleteHere's the climate factors question.
ReplyDeleteHow could bankruptcy courts lower the principal owed on mortgages? Who would make up the difference?
ReplyDeleteShe's obviously more knowledgeable on energy than any other topic. When she can speak with confidence, she's much more effective.
i agree sydney....biden acts more as if he thinks he is running for prez...not mentioning BO too much in compar. to palin mentioning mccain
ReplyDeleteSydney, this debate is crucial for her. Some are calling for her to step down as she is not seen as a serious, knowledgeable candidate. They have really been working hard with her to help prepare her for this debate.
ReplyDeletePalin is stumbling over the answer. It doesn't sound like HER answer. It was an important question for her to answer and she isn't comfortable with it. What pressure. I would not want to be doing this.
ReplyDeleteLet's see how Biden does.... Good, believable, strong answer. The sad thing is, no matter how they both answer any question, I don't know that I can believe what either party or candidate can do once in office.
uummmm....i don't see china giving a flying hoot about how much they pollute
ReplyDeleteNancy, I do like "Drill, baby, drill!"
ReplyDeletei know Gayle, this was so key for her to do well and look natural at it.
ReplyDeleteooh, the same sex benefits question. I am interested to hear what is said...
ReplyDeleteBack to the fashion critique... her glasses are also very flattering.
ReplyDeleteOk, Palin was truthful about her non support of gay marriage, I am surprised to hear Biden say neither he or Obama believe in it either. Hmm.
ReplyDeletei said i couldn't take being on survivor....whew...i def could not take this pressure! its official...i am the bloggers biggest wimp
ReplyDeleteBiden has been warned about being condescending and talking too much. He is to be respectful to her!
ReplyDeletelol about drill baby!
ReplyDeleteoh a classy looking hit -- On withdrawl, Pailn says she respected Biden for telling Obama off about an opinion he had (or a vote). he must have said soemthing in the early Dem nom debates and that's that backhanded compliment.
ReplyDeleteAnd he just ignored it, didn't get defensive or blanch, just said I didn't hear a plan in that (as that was the question).
Debate is not bad so far
i think they were both a bit uneasy about the gay issue
ReplyDeleteiraq....they both seem to have the same plan......gradually withdrawl the troops......i guess its just the timeline
Are we really spending 10 billion a month in Iraq?
ReplyDeleteWhoever said Biden was coached to show amusement when she was talking was right.
bidens eyelids as white as his teeth
ReplyDeleteoh, she is hitting biden over this troops thing, and she looks confident and strong right now and he is smiling with those hideous overly large overly white teeth and unfortunately it is making it clear she is getting to him.
ReplyDeleteBut he hits back with some McCain vs. Barak facts... and, on to a new question.
ReplyDeleteLol Nancy -- eyelids not being the same color as the face or shiny are a pet peeve of mine. I always made sure to match that on the guy clients I did make up on!
ReplyDeleteSydney: maybe you know this, are there better teeth whitening methods that don't give that glow-in-the-dark look on tv?
ReplyDeletebidens doing pretty good with his terrorism launch...
ReplyDeleteCan you imagine having had to commit all of those facts into a working memory in such a short amount of time? I know I wouldn't have been able to do it, but I'm still not a fan!
ReplyDeleteClem, if it's amusement he's trying to show, then it's prolly not any more effective than McCain's try at making Obama look like a youngin' when he kept saying "you just don't know, you just don't know anything" (paraphrasing). It is supposed to show the other person up but I think it's far too risky and makes the one doing it look bad. I prefer straight classy. I do think Barak showed that in his debate... looking at McCain, going to him to shake his hand, going over after the debate with his wife to McCain and his wife, and pretty much keeping his cool thru the entire thing.
ReplyDeletei do find it annoying that we (america) are a little too "friendly" with those that are VERY open about their hatred of us
ReplyDeleteI also would have put as much make up on Palin's chest freckles as on her face. That is another oft forgotten mismatch on TV. Remember Shelia from BB?
ReplyDeleteLet that be a lesson to all of us! lol
Clementine, probably the teeth whitener the dentists use is more natural looking. They also have the expertise in using it so that your teeth whiten and look natural.
ReplyDeleteboth are taking stuff out of context.
ReplyDeleteOh well, I guess that's politics. Here I am focusing on the external to not get into too much of the politics, but it seems these debates really are more for us to get a little look at the candidates as the y talk, walk and breathe (external) more than to really get a sense of any true policies or plans.
sigh
sydney...i wish you could come show me the best way to do my makeup!!
ReplyDeletemy hubby just said he cansee palins panty-line in her skirt
Augh, I just didn't like that whole delivery of that looking backward thing... and I 'm glad we agree on Israel. IF she says I respect you to Biden one more time. Delivering all that with that ironic little smile, I'm amazed it wasn't followed by Nah na na na nah!
ReplyDeletegood for sarah to say that this regime has made mistakes...
ReplyDeletesmart comment to tell biden their continuing to look back prevents them to look ahead to change...
NANCY -- be happy to! VPL! visible panty line? I was thinking it would be a sure bet that spanx were under there or support hose with kind of the panty part woven in.
ReplyDeleteChest freckles! One of the many risks of appearing in high-def, lol
ReplyDeleteHis smile is getting very smirky
There were definitely some points she should have countered, but not having the foreign-policy experience, she's sticking to her script
And Biden is surprising staying on script, too.
Diplomacy? what's that? Oh, yeah, something that we last saw in the Clinton administration. Better polish it up, it's very rusty.
how old is biden?
ReplyDeleteoh this whole war subject is boggling. What really are the facts, and what is right and what is wrong to do from where we stand now?
ReplyDeleteI'm enjoying the debate dialog while I listen and catch up on the Survivor blog! It's going better than I thought it would. so, we'll see!
ReplyDeleteI was raised in Wisconsin so I love the mid-west accent! but, um, not hers...:)
Karen in MD/DC
I'm watching it live on CNN on the computer. I like the little lines that tell reactions. I have recorded the debate, but just got home, so came in late.
ReplyDeleteNancy -- born in 42... how old is that?
ReplyDeleteHi Karen
ReplyDeleteHi Sue!
