The Amazing Race - "Gorilla? Gorilla? Gorilla?"

Jackie's TV Blog, Amazing Race, TAR

Well, it's a bit better than last week, but still delayed here on the East Coast. 60 Minutes started at 7:17 instead of its usual 7:00 PM ET. So I expect that TAR should start here about 8:17 PM ET. Be warned that I'm in the middle of a line of severe thunderstorms, so if I disappear ...

Once the show starts, everyone is welcome to post your comments on the happenings! My show review will be posted on TV Squad later. However, I'll update this post with major events and the pit stop order. Enjoy!

8:17 and we're starting!

Uh-oh. Mark and Michael hit the Pit Stop first but have two thirty-minute penalties. One for tampering with the pumps on the rickshaws to hamper the other teams, the other for hiring a taxi to lead them while they did the rickshaw.

Poor Mike and Mel are WAY behind because they went to the beach instead of the zoo looking for the gorilla statue.

Pit Stop
1. Tammy and Victor (won trip to Oahu)
2. Jaime and Cara
3. Mark and Michael -- satisfied penalty time
4. Margie and Luke -- she passed out at the Pit Stop and we went to commercial
5. Kisha and Jen
6. Mike and Mel - Philiminated

Rats. I liked Mike and Mel, plus they were my team in the blog pool. SNIFFLE

BTW - Margie is okay

  1. Yes! I'm first and I have all the margaritas for myself!

    ReplyDelete
  2. Laurie! I'm shocked at your behavior! We share here!

    ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  3. Okay, okay ... I'll share with the first person who shows up with fresh chips and guacamole.

I guess I should wait until the show starts, too. But, I won't! Cheers!

  4. *hangs head*

I saw the error of my ways Jackie. Here, you have a double one since your weekend had been traumatic.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Thank you. The hail outside is scaring me. Alcohol might help.

    ReplyDelete
  6. It might help and it certainly can't hurt!

    ReplyDelete
  7. I have Everything Bagel Chips, pepperoni and cheddar cheese. Had a huge bowl of cereal but it did not satisfy me, hence a snack...

    ReplyDelete
  8. Looks like the crowd arrived before me.

Jackie, hope the storm goes around you and you can party with us.

Laurie, give me some of those margaritas, please with sugar on top.

    Here are chips and guacamole.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Hail is scary, but be glad that it is not 2 ft of snow and that you do not have a car outside to get dented!!! The front is almost past you so it should improve. The sun came out around 430 or so here.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Becky, did you want sugar on your margarita? I dunno ... it kind of ruins it!

Delee, I just put salt on yours. Personally I think Becky has lost it but you know ... what can we do?

    ReplyDelete
  11. Think she meant pretty please with sugar on it not rim the glass LOL

    ReplyDelete
  12. Oh, silly me!

Is anything happening on the show? The previews make it look pretty dramatic tonight, with people getting lost and somebody collapsing.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Laurie, new avitar? Did you take that photo and what plant is it?

    ReplyDelete
  14. Yes, Sizz, that is one of my Lavendar plants in full bloom and full of bees. All this makes me very happy. I have photos to share, just need to sit down and do that.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Waah -- Mike and Mel are lost!

    ReplyDelete
  16. Mike and Mel sure blew it, that last stop someone told them the zoo, but did they listen? No

    ReplyDelete
  17. Do you put lavender in your bath? Nothing blooming here yet, almost but not quite.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Sorry, Laurie, I sounded so abrupt. I was trying to say I liked it and wondered if it were from your garden. I am making chicken and noodles in the kitchen, watching TAR on the bedroom TV and checking in here at the commercials. Pretty Lavender.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Hi all,
Laurie, I'll have mine on the rocks with lots of salt on the rim! Here's some chex mix to go with them.

    ReplyDelete
  20. The cheerleaders could not stand the noise in India, I am confused do not sports fans make a HUGE racket? Also like for hours!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Everyone's avatar is beautiful and very spring! Makes you feel good!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Laurie, I would really like it on the rocks with the rim salted. No sugar, Sugar.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Hi all Hope I am not crashing the party I finally have a Sunday evening off to see the blog comments. My favorites this yr are Luke and his mom I would love to see them go far here :)

    ReplyDelete
  24. Anyone see the motorcycle behind the rickshaw to protect them?

    ReplyDelete
  25. Oh no 2 penalties for Mike and Mark...major oops.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Those two girls are so rude! A sweet Southern pretty please would do more.

Come on Mel and Mike. Get the lead out and make up some time -- pretty please...

Ah, the little guys are first. Oh, no, they get an hour penalty. Did the previews say three couples get penalties?

    ReplyDelete
  27. Laurie pass Karen a drink please!

Do they just pick when something is a penalty or are there rules before they start a leg of the race?

    ReplyDelete
  28. Hi, Karen, welcome pull up a chair and have some refreshments.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I agree they were terribly rude to the drawer man.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Margaritas on the rocks for all ... salt on rims is a given.

Sizz, you didn't sound abrupt. I meant to ask about your flowers and hit post too soon.

Karen! Good to see you. Sit down and get comfy.

Donna, I agree, the flowers are all so pretty. Spring has been here for awhile. Daffodils and freesias are finished.

I do use the lavendar in the bath and I also use it to pack in little gifts. I love it.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Sydney and Jennasmom... can you believe they were first and ended up with 2 30 minute penalties. What is with our guys! AHHHHHHHH!

    ReplyDelete
  32. FInally -- I'm here. HI everybody!

Been watching but making dinner to put in after the show is over...

    ReplyDelete
  33. lAURIE, i NEED A BUNCH OF THOSE DRINKS NOW!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Laurie -- I was making guacamole. SO I have some extra... can I have a marg?

    ReplyDelete
  35. Thanks for the Drink its been a long day here. I really need it here I will throw in some cheese popcorn. :)

    ReplyDelete
  36. I'm sure this has been said already, and it sounds like it's been a frustrating day for everyone, but the redhead drives me crazy when each show she said, WHY DON"T THESE PEOPLE SPEAK ENGLISH.

I mean, is she that dense that she can't grok that you should not expect people to speak your language when you're in a totally foreign country?

    ReplyDelete
  37. Handing meb her own pitcher of margaritas. Tough day sweety?

Here's one with Sydney's name on it.

Anyone ready for more? Oh I know, you've had lots but it's always the first glass as long as we never let it go completely empty!

    ReplyDelete
  38. oh I hope Dad and son stay in it. They edited it from the get go with them saying we want to stay as long as we can or go as far as we can... I hope that's not a foreshadow

    ReplyDelete
  39. They did it again for us, Jackie! YEA

    ReplyDelete
  40. Hi, Sydney and Meb! Oh, no, Mom and son will get a penalty too. I just don't want the rude girls to come in first.

    Come on Mel and Mike.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Sydney, I agree with what you said and love the new word (grok). She is rude and insensitive and says "these people" so much it makes me want to scream.

    Whew! I need more tequila.

    ReplyDelete
  42. darn Mark and Mike didn't win the first place prize, but at least they are still in the game... and hopefully they will learn to be less loopy and obey the rules from here on? nah

    ReplyDelete
  43. Laurie, the margarita made me cold, I will take another one, but need a throw!!!! HAHAHA

    ReplyDelete
  44. Question (since I don't see the show for a couple of hours).

Did Mark and Michael know they were breaking the rules (you know, cheating)??

    ReplyDelete
  45. OH YES thank you CBS for the commercials at that point...grrr

    ReplyDelete
  46. gee,PHIL!!!! WAKE UP!! can someone give mom water before you do all this at the mat?

    ReplyDelete
  47. delee-- throw -- bwahahaha

    ReplyDelete
  48. Me, me, me top my glass off, please.

I don't mean this ugly, but I am glad that Mom waited until after they had checked in before fainting. You could look at her and tell she was about to go.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Tossing a nice warm freshly cleaned throw over to Delee.

Anyone else need extra warmth and comfort?

    ReplyDelete
  50. Did not say about the air pumps in the clue so no idea...rickshaw (forgot what the clue said)?

    ReplyDelete
  51. Jackie -- what's going on with your storm right now?

    ReplyDelete
  52. We have seen some forms of sabbotage before so with the pumps, who knows!

    ReplyDelete
  53. I do love these Sunday evening gatherings, don't you?

Topping off all the drinks and tossing throws around with abandon!

    Tralalalalala....

    ReplyDelete
  54. Sydney - The storm seems to have stopped. WCBS just started running a banner that a severe thunderstorm warming is in effect until 9:30. Duh!

    ReplyDelete
  55. Using the mat to fan her

    ReplyDelete
  56. Delee said: The cheerleaders could not stand the noise in India, I am confused do not sports fans make a HUGE racket? Also like for hours!

    ROTFLMPimpO

    ReplyDelete
  57. OMG I am LOL at that sneezing!!

    ReplyDelete
  58. Jackie --Maybe the news people have been at the Petron themselves!

    ReplyDelete
  59. The girls are not in a cab, are they?

    ReplyDelete
  60. oh shit -- dad and son are out????

    ReplyDelete
  61. Great fun ladies...till DWTS kisses and hugs!

    ReplyDelete
  62. Teams before have had people leading them without penalty.

Mom is having a heat stroke.

Oh, no, Mike and Mel are in last place. No, no, no! It was fun while it lasted Jackie.

    ReplyDelete
  63. aaaaaawwww! They're the BEST!
When people say they already won... they are a good idea of the truth of that statement.

    ReplyDelete
  64. If I were them I'd make sure that she went to get checked up before they let her go on.

    ReplyDelete
  65. what's next? Used to be Dexter or True Blood...

Is it Celeb Apprentice now? Anything else?

    ReplyDelete
  66. Good news: My team is still in it..
Bad news: my team is the Bitches.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Celeb Apprentice is on now. I am watching it and will be taping DH.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Laurie, that is so great that you can hostess while we are busy watching. Too bad we can't do the same in the resverse... actually, we can! As long as we stay up late

    ReplyDelete
  69. Cold Case for me next since The L Word has ended.

    ReplyDelete
  70. is there a blog for celebraty apprentice i cant seem to find the new one anywhere

    ReplyDelete
  71. whoops I don't think the DH she was talking about was chat lingo lol DH might be deperate housewives

    ReplyDelete
  72. Well, I completely missed the party. :-( If there are any leftovers, I will gladly embibe, si. Donna in AL, I'm right there with you with the Bitches, argh! I'm just now watching but I already caught how bitchy they were in the cab.

I've got Cold Case taping while I watch TAR. See you all tomorrow night for DWTS or later in the week for Survivor. Finally, a new epi of Survivor. Yay!

Glad the storm passed you by tonight Jackie... well the worst of it.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Karen -- thanks, I thought she can't mean dear Husband...

And I don't know if Jackie has a Celeb APprentice chat link set up -- but if so it would be on the sidebar way down on the right. I'll go look for it now. If not, we could still write here.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Karen, it's on the right three down under the Heading Meet UP discussions. See you there?

    ReplyDelete
  75. sydney I found it ty ty ty I don't think many ppl blog on it Its not on here for a while its only 6:38 out here on the west coast but I have to be at work at 6 am so I won't be watching it tonight i will DVR it and watch it in the mornign I was just checking to see if someone would say who got fired

    ReplyDelete
  76. Donna, LOL at your good news/bad news.

Monty, pull up a throw and party with me. No leftovers with this crowd but ... I have a fresh batch of margaritas and picked up some fresh chips and salsa from a local place here in San Diego. We can party til the show is over here!

    ReplyDelete
  77. Thank you very much, Ms. Laurie. You will love watching everyone come into the drawer place and leave before the Redheads. Karma you know. And they are my team... :)

    ReplyDelete
  78. Can't wait. I love seeing Karma in action!

    ReplyDelete
  79. Bummer about Mike and Mel. My condolences to the folks who had them. Please join me in the Loser's Lounge for free refreshments and souvenir crying towels. Some of us have been here since (sob) week ONE!

    ReplyDelete
  80. Off Topic...Any word about the next Big Brother show? I never canceled my Real Player, what a doofus I am.

    ReplyDelete
  81. ARE YOU WATCHING THE APPRENTICE? If so, Karen and I are live blogging over at the Discussion Meet up if you want to join us...

Just scroll down on Jackie's page til you get to Blog Meet Up Discussions and you see The Apprentice second on the list.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Lol, oh its Karma big time! It really was only Jaime, or more so than Cara. Jaime is a B... and Cara called her the witch with a B, LOL. I'm sad for Mike and Mel too. :( They had rough luck with getting lost, and they also had a tough time picking the right drawere.

The little guys were too cute when they reached the mat only to find out that they cheated. I'm just at the part where Luke's mom is about to pass out. Man, why didn't they have any water on them?

    ReplyDelete
  83. Anon, they are in open casting still for BB11. Sydney, I'll be over to the CA as soon as I finish the race, LOL. I'll have to watch it in real time and catch up with what I've already missed. See you there in a few. :)

    ReplyDelete
  84. Oh man, whoever said it was right. margie was practically begging for water and Phil just went on with his thing until she passed out. Thats not right!

    ReplyDelete
  85. Thanks Monty.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Aww, I loved Mike and Mel's parting comments. What a team!!! I'm sad to see them go.

Well, I'm off to CA ... Laurie, thanks for the margaritas and chips. I'll bring something yummy to the party this Thursday and you have first dibs. :)

    ReplyDelete
  87. Sounds good, Monty. See you Thursday night!

    ReplyDelete
  88. Sorry Jackie, I just relooked at the AR pool and I am with Rbennie. It is you and me for Survivor. I am losing my mind!

    ReplyDelete
  89. The show has started now on the west coast. Drinks are ready for anybody who shows up for this airing!

    ReplyDelete
  90. Seriously, this Jaime is a biotch. I'm sorry for those who have her on their team but she is rude and arrogantly insensitive.

I love that Mike and Mel are so gracious to everyone and that they are having fun in the process. Yeah, I know they leave tonight but they have been great sports for the whole game. They leave with good karma!

My WV is alkslym which may be a comment about me sitting here sipping margaritas and talking to myself. Nah, that couldn't be it.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Well Laurie, that was some finale. Those two were stand up guys!
    Niters!

    ReplyDelete
  92. Well, that is just a shame. Mike and Mel ran the race with gusto and grace. I am disappointed to see them go. :(

    ReplyDelete
  93. MEB & Sydney -- What's with our boys????? Looks like from the previews that they screw up again next show. Oh, well, I guess they are still in it.

Hated to miss the party with all of you earlier. Sounds like the margaritas were flowing! .......or "throwing"! Gotta go take care of the "laundry".....have a good night, all!

    ReplyDelete
  94. Well, it looks like I missed a great party tonight. Bummer. I would have really enjoyed a margarita with salt. No sugar on the rim for me! Oh well, I can be consoled by knowing my team, Margie & Luke are still in it.

I'm with the rest of you when it comes to the red-heads. They were so impatient and rude with just everyone they came into contact with. I wish it would have been them that had received the penalties. There should be one for rudeness!!

I was sorry to see Mike and Mel leave. They've always been such great sports. . . .right up to the very end.

I've been having a Damage's marathon this weekend. I hadn't watched any episodes yet this season, so had a lot to catch up on. I still have 4 left. Then I can start on Life on Mars ~ or maybe the Riches. I haven't watched any of those shows either. I think I need to plan another marathon weekend. : )

    ReplyDelete
  95. I didn't have a chance to post last night during the viewing party.

I am sorry that Mike & Mel were philiminated. I realy like both of them. They seem like they honestly love and care about each other in a healthly father/son way. That is very sweet and refreshing to me.

I thought the stuntmen got the shaft on one of their penalities. They did not remove all the foot pumps from the area. They put them in the opened box which was sitting right beside the pumps. The pumps still appeared to be in plain sight, they weren't exactly hidden from the other teams.

  97. **********TAR POOL UPDATE**********

Mel & Mike, Jackie & Becky you are the last team to arrive. I'm sorry to tell you - you have been Philiminated.

I will say M & M have been really good sports and seemed to be enjoying the experience (unlike a certain redhead).

I'm sure the Herb guy was more upset when he opened a drawer than Cara(?) when a clue was not to be found. He probably did a little happy dance when they finally left. WOW how do you spell ugly american C-A-R-A & J-A-M-I-E.

I laughed outloud when the boys got a penalty for putting the pumps in the box. Also I don't think a trip to the Hawaiin islands would be that exciting when you live there.

I noticed people discussing the penalty for the taxi help. I noticed when Victors cabbie offerd to lead them Victor said "No it says I can't" or something like that - so the clue must have said that they could like be guided.

Til Survior - yea it is new on Thurday.

Cara & Jaime – Nana in NW, Monty924 & Donna in AL
Mark & Michael – Sydney, Jennasmom & MEB
    Tammy & Victor – Rbennie & Delee & Dusty
    LaKisha & Jennifer – KarenJC & Patti
Margie & Luke – PDX Granny & Jeannemarie

Jennifer & Preston – Donna in FL, Karen & Leslie
Linda & Steve – Laurie, Nomad & Margo
    Brad & Victoria – Rozee & ORKMommy
    Amanda & Kris – Caroline, Sizzie & Lynn1
    Christie & Jodi – Zoetawny & SueGee
    Mel & Mike – Jackie & Becky

  98. I guess I mean Jaime as the nasty redhead not Cara - sorry Cara

  102. Off topic for any Bravo Housewives fans: from People.com

NY Housewives - LuAnn, the countess, and her husband, "the count", have split up. He spends most of his time in Europe and LuAnn discovered he's been seeing another woman there. Wonder if she'll lose that title she loves so much.

OC Housewives - Gretchen, who lost her fiancee, Jeff in Sept., is now dating Slade, Jo's ex.

Vicki has received death threats from a fan.

Atlanta Housewives - DeShawn, who is married to the pro football player, has been dropped from the show. She says the producers told her she didn't belong in this circus. Too nice.

    ReplyDelete
  103. More odds and ends -

Kim, on Atlanta Housewives, was dumped by Big Papa.

Syd, RTVW only says that Woz was invited to Karina's wedding and then she told him he could walk her down the aisle. Woz says that touched his heart. No other details.

RTVW also says that LuAnn (NYH) was dumped by her Count hubby in an email. LuAnn is his 4th wife. He is now in love with an Ethiopian woman. Sheesh!

Lastly, Mike Fleiss (The Bachelor)announced that he will produce on FOX, not ABC, a new show called "More To Love". It will consist of a plus-size bachelor and plus-size women competing for his love. They are casting now and it will be on the air later this year. They say it will give "real people" a chance at finding love.

  104. Hi all! Yes, it's me, the vanishing Zoetawny. I've been burning the candle at both ends dealing with RL issues. I sure like my virtual life much better and miss all of you.

I hope everyone is doing good. I'll never be able to catch up on all I've missed reading here so please feel free to email me if it's important news.

My DVR is almost full and I'm not sure when I'll ever have a day or night to view all my recordings. In my dream world I would have an entire free day to watch all of my shows that I've missed.

    Jackie...

I did read about the train accident and glad to know you're all right. I hope the person taken away to the hospital wasn't seriously injured, but I didn't take the time to read all the links you posted. I've been wondering how you've been and how you're coping with your knee pain.

Well, my phone is ringing...again...so guess my online time is over already. POOP!

    Later~
