The Amazing Race - "I'm Not Wearing That Girl's Leotard" Blog Post

Jackie's TV Blog, Amazing Race, TAR

Yes, it's time for ... The Amazing Race! Yay! I'll be writing a more thorough review for TV Squad a bit later tonight, but this is the place for the party! I'll update the post here with important events and all are welcome to join us in the comments area. For the third week in a row, we're starting on time here on the East Coast. Yikes!

Pit Stop Order
1. Mel and Mike -- my team in the blog pool -- also won trip to Costa Rica
2. Amanda and Kris
3. Kisha and Jen
4. Margie and Luke
5. Mark and Michael
6. Christie and Jodi
7. Jaime and Cara
8. Tammy and Victor
9. Brad and Victoria -- Philiminated

Aw, I really liked them. I didn't think I'd like Mike and Mel and wasn't really thrilled when I got them in the pool. I was sure Mel would be a problem, but I'm really enjoying them. I'm glad they got first place this week!

  4. Hey, you three! Guess we can select the most comfortable chairs since we are the first to arrive.

    ReplyDelete

Sydney, your guys did rock. The brother and sister are getting testy.

    ReplyDelete
  19. why must they litter when they are reading their clues? that bothers me.

  21. If I had that junk to move I would leave it behind!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Petals, if you're still here, you know 103 as a grown up is boarderline go to the ER. I mean a little over that is really not to be taken lightly. Does your roommate know about that in case he has to take you?

"It's just frustrating we have to follow your gut and not mine"
. That's a good line, I have to remember that.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Yeee ha! Mel and Mike are team #1!!!

I assume they allow docs to check out his groin. THis is not Survivor right?

    ReplyDelete
  25. So good to see multiple teams come in first for once! not the same over and over.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I can't believe that Mel and Mike came in first! I am afraid his knees will give out before the race is done. I am glad they got a 1st place and a reward.

    ReplyDelete
  27. whiney brother!

Hey, I'd prolly be whiney too, MUCH earlier!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Syd, long story. He's not here.

    ReplyDelete
  29. She is so right and he just will not listen to her...Guess I am toast with this team...ugh!

    ReplyDelete
  30. RE: Survivor commercial alluding to a cross team alliance. That will be the first time it's been done, but I am amazed that the guy going to exile showed his hand so obviously by picking Taj to go with him the second time....

    OK, back to TAR

    ReplyDelete
  31. Petals, were you able to see a doc yet? Have you taken something to bring the fever down? Have some tylenol? That and lots of water, every 4 hours, even if you're sleeping... Do you have some?

  32. wow, Tammy and Victor are having a really bad day. Who has them as a team?

I think this won't be an elimination?

woah they found the key!!!!!!! Amazing

    ReplyDelete
  33. Unreal Victor had a lightbulb come on, I hope he remembers how he almost had them booted off net show and listens to her...

    ReplyDelete
  34. I do Sydney, and I think RBennie

    ReplyDelete
  35. Hello all. It's almost 6 here, so 2 more hours to wait for the show to air. I'll read your entries and pay close attention to what you comment on.

Petals, I read in the previous thread that you aren't feeling so good. Take care of YOU!

My WF is juggl... is there any juggling in tonight's show.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I am surprised that Victor and Tammy made it.

I think this is the best season in a long time. There are no teams that I dislike.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I have Victor and Tammy as a team. I was hoping they didn't come in last place. I'm on the west coast, so I have to watch it later.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Syd - I have a Z pack and codeine cough syrup. doing all the obvious things like fluids, etc. Hoping the fever will break in the night.
I'll be ok. Just a lil delirous now.
    I wanna go to Romania.

    ReplyDelete
  39. No Laurie, no juggling...just gypsies and vampires!!!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Just like a man, don't ask for directions and don't admit it when you're wrong. Almost did them in.

    ReplyDelete
  41. OK Dusty we almost bought the farm this week!!!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Anonymous said... Just like a man, don't ask for directions and don't admit it when you're wrong.

This cracked me up! You don't have any idea how many times we have taken "the senic route"!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Thanks Delee. Gypsies and vampires sound a little scary. Can't wait to see the scenery.

Petals, glad you have the z-pack. I just found out from Terry in CA what that is. Do drink your liquids and take care of you.

Who wants me to root for their team? I'm a woman without a team on TAR and Survivor. Clearly, the stars were not aligned when the pools were created.

Sydney, thanks for sharing what VLP is. I didn't know either. We are just such an educational group!

  45. Becky, not to be sexist but isn't he Scenic Route the way most men go? Sometimes my husband calls it an Adventure.

  46. Laurie said... Becky, not to be sexist but isn't he Scenic Route the way most men go?

Probably so. What is so bad about stopping and asking directions?

Laurie, you can join Jackie and I. We have Mel and Mike.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Jackie, are you going to set up a blog chat area for Apprentice in case some of us watch it?

    ReplyDelete
  48. My husband says for him it's all about his ability to figure it out, like a puzzle. If I suggest things, I spoil the hunt. It's challenging -- um, for HIM. poor boys.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Thank you Ms Laurie. Watching our reality shows is always a nice escape.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Is anyone watching the apprentice? I thought maybe I should put my comments back on the previous post?

    ReplyDelete
  51. I try to get into Apprentice; it's 50/50 so far. I did love the clebrity version with gene simmons.

On an embarrassing, guilty pleasure note: I'm watching Rock of Love Tour Bus. Does it get lower than that?

    ReplyDelete
  52. Sydney, I am watching Apprentice. We sure like a lot of the same shows. Good taste I guess. Yeah, right!

    ReplyDelete
  53. I hope you feel MUCH better Petals.

    ReplyDelete
  54. No snow yet, but I can't blog and watch too, tv and computer in two different rooms too far apart to participate, but I love coming here to read after it's all over.

Our boys did good Sydney and Jennasmom... at least they weren't on a taking it easy kick.

Couldn't believe the brother/ sister team... and did I hear him right that he still blamed her for his going the wrong way???

I'm watching celebrity apprentice. I'm glad who won and I'm glad who went home cause I never could stand that person! Won't say who if you haven't watched it yet.

OK...waiting for the snow to fall, but I still don't think we'll get much although all the schools are on a 2 hour delay start time for tomorrow. We'll probably delay opening the club by two hours as well.

    Petals...feel better...thinking of you..

    Zotawny..good to see you posting.

Same here, meb. I watched the show and was disappointed in the team who had to leave. I have Kris and Amanda and I always get irritated when a team leaves valuables laying around. I have a feeling there was more to the story on his bag turning up than we got to see on TV.

Every body had a leotard body, that surprised me. Even with the VPL's and mikes.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I am so sorry my team is out. While they did not sound very good on paper, they turned out to be a very "nice" team. Bad luck with the fog.

    ReplyDelete
  57. DH commented that if he act like Victor, the detour would have ended with him impaled on the spear instead of the wooden squares.

    Kathy in NC

    ReplyDelete
  58. Whew, our team was almost history Delee and Dusty. I was so disappointed in Victor. I guess I expected too much from him, he is just a man after all, LOL. I'm hoping that they can redeem themselves next week.

I'm having a snow day today. Schools are closed and I decided work should be closed too, so I called in, LOL. I'm sure I'll pay for it tomorrow, but for right now it was a great idea.

  60. Good Monday all. I hope those of you on the east coast are safe and warm and have power! Sounds like quite a storm is dumping snow on all of you.

Well, I'm still in the game and actually liking my team. I have the red-heads and happy to see they befriended Luke and his mom. So far they are in the middle of pack which is where my frat boys were last season and they ended up in 3rd place!

I'm loving seeing the countries and how the people live. I must say the gypsy camp was sorta funny. I can't help but think alot of that was staged for the show.

Tammy has more patience than me....I would have turned around and headed back down that hill long before she did. Victor must be used to being in control.

Have to go and get some work done around the house before school is over.

    ---------------------------------
I saw you received some TAR invites, but not Survivor yet. You're welcome to join mine & SueGee's Survivor Team...we have Stephen. It looks like this week that Taj will try to pull him into the alliance with her & Brendan, so that should be fun.

  62. Although my team (Kris & Amanda) was very close to a 1st place finish, I'm pleased that Mel & Mike got the win and the trip. As others have mentioned, it's nice that the prizes are being spread around. But now I'm full out rooting for my team to win a leg. They would have made it if not for the fanny pack mishap.

If I were Tammy, I would have just sat down and some point and declared "I refuse to climb another hill, if you truly believe that we're going the right way, I'm gonna sit here until another team comes along." Cause I don't believe that Victor thought he was right that whole time. I think he figured out he was wrong and then wouldn't admit it to Tammy, thus prolonging her torture.

As totally un-politically correct as this is...I really don't like the deaf boy, Luke. He whines about EVERYTHING. He's a total, spoiled, momma's boy and I find his attitude pretty lame. His mom ends up doing all the hard work cause he acts like it will kill him if he gets dirt on his clothes.

    ReplyDelete
  63. I was surprised to like Mel and Mike too but they seem to have a great relationship. I need a little drama in my race though.
