The Amazing Race - 11/08 Episode Blog Party Post

Surprise, surprise ... the show has been delayed by football here in the NYC viewing area. I believe 60 Minutes started about 20 minutes late, so we can expect TAR at about 8:30-ish PM ET.

As it airs here on the East Coast, I'll update any major happenings in this entry. However, the real fun (and most of the information) will be in the comments. Everyone is welcome to join in. My actual show review will be posted over on TV Squad sometime late tonight.

8:20 PM and it's a go.

Pit Stop
1. Flight Time and Big Easy - won a trip and it's FT's birthday!
2. Megan and Cheyne
3. Brian and Erick
4. Sam and Dan
5. Gary and Matt -- Non-elimination leg, so they're still in it!

  1. And the Giants lost again. Hubby not happy and my fave reality show is late again so I'm a 'little bit' grumpy too. Can't they play just one hour earlier? Don't they get that we're all waiting here? LOL!

  2. Hiya Joy
Sorry about the Giants.. I am a Seahawk fan and was really glad to see them come back and win against the Lions....Hope Tar starts soon. Seeing how I read on here and watch later lol thats the down fall on being on the West Coast.

  3. Joyn, tell your husband it wasn't a Giants loss but instead it was a Charger WIN! Yeah, baby!

I have a nice fire going in the virtual fireplace and plenty of hot chocolate for all. We have big and mini marshmallows along with a bottle of Bailey's for those who are so inclined. It does help keep the warmth in!

Now, a front row seat for the hay bale event! Let's get going!!

    ReplyDelete
  4. Hey Mammaroo and Sydney! Get comfy and enjoy the race!

    ReplyDelete
  5. the planes can always be delayed don't they know that from watching the show???

    ReplyDelete
  6. I've been missing out on commenting for awhile but am here tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Looks like Brian and Erika will easily play catchup.

Maybe not. First flight is full. Only three teams made it.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Howdie folks! Laurie, your Chargers made the wait exciting. Congrats.

I want the Globetrotters to come in first tonight. :)

    ReplyDelete
  9. Laurie, if I told him that, I wouldn't hear a word of TAR tonight!

    ReplyDelete
  10. Wow, 2 hours behind is not good.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Oooo, I want to ride that!

    ReplyDelete
  12. Sh*t, I know my husband wants to do that drop pole thing. Can you imagine? It's not something I'd seek out at an amusement park but I could do it if needed.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Happy for you Charger fans but... don't tell my other half I said that.

    Hey, everyone!

    ReplyDelete
  14. globetrotter not screaming but baring his teeth and shaking his head. That's a new one, lol.

    ReplyDelete
  15. come on father and son team.. Make it make it make it!!!

    Oooooooooooooo noooooooooo Mr. Bill.

So I guess people aren't helping each other out anymore?

    ReplyDelete
  16. Hey Everyone :) I too like the Globetrotters they are my favorite :) I just wish I could watch earlier but will wait till 8 my time lol

    ReplyDelete
  17. Uh, oh! That could cost Gary and Matt, missing that train.

    ReplyDelete
  18. That ride fits in with what I watched most of the afternoon - Extreme thrill rides!

    Hi everyone!

    ReplyDelete
  19. COMMERCIAL for SUrvivor -- so they are advertising Russell as having a target on his back, which he does. But do you think they are doing that because he doesn't go next week? I mean if he did go next week, would they advertise that way?

    ReplyDelete
  20. 30, even 20 years ago, I might have tried that ride, but my aging brittle bones would scream NO at me now.

    ReplyDelete
  21. 15 minutes is not bad to have to wait for the next train....

    ReplyDelete
  22. Do they have a gnome under almost every one of those red hats?

    ReplyDelete
  23. I love the dad and son team!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Sydney, I hope Russell leaves this week I can not stand him he is Arogant A** in my opinion I want LAura to win seeing how shes from the same town I am in :o)

    ReplyDelete
  25. Ultimate challenge for guys ... BLOWING SOMETHING UP!!

    ReplyDelete
  26. blonde long haired driver thrilled to be on TV.

    ReplyDelete
  27. My sons would kill each other in a challenge where they had to work together! They are so opposite!

    ReplyDelete
  28. lol Donna. I think my husband and I would too, as we go about tasks very differently.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Not looking good for Matt and Gary right now.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Hey, everyone. I'll take that cup of hot chocolate, please.

I think Pappa and Junior Bear are in trouble.

At least the GT caught up. I really like those guys.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Hey Tessa! Good to see you again.

Mammaroos, I watch it in the west coast, too.

Joyn, don't tell your husband what I said, please. No need to cause drama. Just know I am one happy lady tonight with the Charger win.

    ReplyDelete
  32. mamaroos -- really? I didn't know that. She made it by last week, right? She was the one they were targeting that won immunity? If so, you must have been leaping off the couch!

    ReplyDelete
  33. the little guy on UP looks like Spenver Tracy.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Sydney yes that is her... she's from Oregon so was ben but he is gone :( Just like Big brother Natalie the one who works at the bikini barista she lives here too and still works at the coffee place. I would love to see Laura make it to the end. we will see shes just gotta get Russell outta there lol

    ReplyDelete
  35. Believe me, Laurie, I'm staying mum. I'm smarter than that. LOL!!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Late shout out to Tessa!

Laurie, that fireplace is a nice touch!
QUESTION: did the two brothers ever tell the poker girls that they weren't straight before the girls left?

    ReplyDelete
  37. Do they not know how to layer the sand bags? I would think you would do them like brick, instead of stacking them directly on top of each other.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Sydney they told the whole group last week they arent straight

    ReplyDelete
  39. Wow, this is even harder than the original. Only 7 flags in over 180 bales.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I never saw that ep. And they needed to make them go through 100 bales before telling them that they then were eliminated? OY. That seems like unnecessary torture!

I had no idea that hay bales unrolled.

    ReplyDelete
  41. oh this is going to kill some of these couples.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Wouldn't Shane's upper body strength have been better for undoing this.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Cheyne should have been a gentleman and done the hay himself.

    ReplyDelete
  44. wussy Shane. I am mad at him right now.

The globetrotters will have a huge advantage because they are so big... if they pick the right bales.

    YES SHUT UP Brother.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I can't believe that the jerk made the girl do it. How nice to give her some gloves to wear! Dip Stick!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Even though I have the brothers I'm kinda rooting for the father and son. Actually I like all the teams this year. That's a nice change!

    ReplyDelete
  47. That hay bale task is brutal.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Shut up, BABY!

The brother is on my last nerve.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Oh SHUT UP brother! SHUT THE F*CK UP!!! I know he's stressed, but how can he think that will help anything but his own demise when his brother melts down.

    ReplyDelete
  50. "No stress baby" Give me a break Cheyne, you should have been out there.

    ReplyDelete
  51. My husband says (I can't take credit for his good comments) that the later you get there, the less you have to search through. Good point! May even it out a bit for Gary and Matt.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Oh wow... he got a clue!!!

    ReplyDelete
  53. Good for the GT. They have fun no matter what they do. WTG, fellas

    ReplyDelete
  54. I knew the globetrotters were going to be first.

    ReplyDelete
  55. The brotherly love seems to be fading fast.

How nice that Cheyne is proud of Megan.

    ReplyDelete
  56. oops, I see I've been spelling Cheyne's namke wrong. I have a stepson named Shane.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Loved the "we didn't have no hay bales in the projects".

    ReplyDelete
  58. C'mon Megan, you can do it.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Send the man, how stupid are you? Upper Body strength , hello!

    ReplyDelete
  60. I just found my link to Just tv and I can watch I just saw the trotters get first place :)

    ReplyDelete
  61. God, I can imagine crying my eyes out -- running all over for weeks now, probably little sleep and jet lag and then unrolling those things for 2 hours?

JoyN, you are cracking me up!

    ReplyDelete
  62. Where did the Globetrotters win the trip to?

    ReplyDelete
  63. yay mamaroos!

Laurie, I guess you don't want to do that to watch with us...it's just 6 PM there and you are probably just making dinner.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Jackies to the Turks Phil said

    ReplyDelete
  65. mamaroos -- just reading comments during commercials. Have you ever gone in to the coffeeshop when natalie was working?

    ReplyDelete
  66. I didn't catch the trip place name either.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Yes I have and she is just like in person as she was on tv really chatty but seemeddown to earth and when I told her i watched her on BB she said thanks and then kinda didn't want to talk about it lol

    ReplyDelete
  68. oh pffft, now he gets it that he should have shut up.

    ReplyDelete
  69. The son sees it the same as your DH Sydney! Better odds!

    ReplyDelete
  70. I would walk over and whop my brother up against the side of the head.

    ReplyDelete
  71. I can't believe she can even run to get to that mat. Can you say 23?

OH shut up Cheyne. So happy she's going to do all the tough stuff for you for life?

(gee, where did THAT come from? lol)

    ReplyDelete
  72. A little late to sweeten her up now, Cheyne. Darn right, she did it all.

    ReplyDelete
  73. At least Dan knows he was a complete jerk.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Really glad the brothers made up.

    ReplyDelete
  75. I hope its a non elimination leg. I love Gary and Matt.

    ReplyDelete
  76. SHooting through his earring!

Boy, they stayed in good spirits the whole way through. PLEASE -- NON ELIM ROUND??????

    ReplyDelete
  77. Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  78. I have decided I don't like the brother or Cheyne. I hate that the Dad and Son are out.

GREAT! They are still in it. I hope they come in first. They could use the money more than the GT.

    ReplyDelete
  79. YES!!! A non-elim!!! Dad and son are still in!!!

    ReplyDelete
  80. I am glad it was a non-elimination round. If they had had him finish that just to tell him they were gone....well, that would have just been wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  81. I don't watch the show for another couple of hours but I enjoy being part of the fun here when the rest of my buddies watch it. Sometimes I don't see it until Monday night. It's okay that I know who goes and who stays. It's all fun for me!

    ReplyDelete
  82. God show! Loved the ending!!

    ReplyDelete
  83. Good show. The Globetrotters finish first and Gary and Matt are still in it.

    Nite folks!

    ReplyDelete
  84. Meghan deserved to get this and Cheyne needs his a$$ kicked for letting her do it, especially since he knew the results of the first time it was done and a girl was out there for 8-10 hours. He didn't endear himself to me this episode.

I'm so glad the father/son are still in it. Hope they can make up the speed bump next week.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Jackie, I replayed my tape and Phil said, "The Turks and Caicos". Wiki says The Turks and Caicos (Islands) are a British Overseas Territory in the Caribbean. Sounds like a fantastic trip!

    ReplyDelete
  86. Yes Syd...Dexter next...

joyn...try the picture again... I added a different one in addition to the avatar... let me know if you can see them please.

    ReplyDelete
  87. So glad G&M are still in it. Hopefully they will get an easy speedbump like the girls did.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Meb, just checked them out and I CAN SEE! Thank you for going the extra steps. It looks like you guys had a blast! Everyone has such big smiles.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Jackie, I think the trip is to the Turks and caicos Islands.

I am so glad it was a non-elim. I saw the very end and was so dissappointed when it looked like the son and dad would have to leave.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Cheyne really is a wuss and so is the brother who keeps giving advice. They should give this a shot when they get home and see how hard it really is. Watching it is making me itch all over!

    ReplyDelete
  91. I know you are hating on Cheyne for "letting" Megan tackle the hay bale task, but in his defense, she was being mighty unpleasant and commanding.
I think it was a case of "want to be bossy leader? Okay, go for it".

He probably felt stupid about it ten minutes into the task.

Does anybody remember the season where it was actually announced that each team member had to do a certain about of the tasks?
It might have been the season with Charla and her cousin.

Is that something that still applies, but just isn't shared with the viewing public?

    ReplyDelete
  92. PS
Love that father and son are still in.

    ReplyDelete
  93. There is no change to the pool as this was a non elimination round. Yea I like the Father/son team.

    Margo

  94. At Elimination Station, Canaan has broken off his relationship with Mika. I think it's a good idea for them to go their separate ways.
