Survivor Samoa - 12/10 Episode Blog Party Post

The show is about to begin here on the East Coast. As it airs, I'll update this post with any major happenings. However, the real action is in the comments section! Please feel free to join in with your thoughts while having fun with friends. Late tonight my show review will be posted on TV Squad.

No reward challenge -- Jaison won immunity. In the first tribal council, Dave was voted out.

Second immunity challenge -- Brett (Russell's new target) won. Monica was voted out.

  1. I'm the first one here! I can't wait to see who gets voted off, and I hope it's not Russell!

  2. Double elimination tonight and I hope it is not Russell either!

  3. I wouldn't have said it a month ago, but I hope he stays, too.

  4. Shambo really doesn't have a clue, does she?

  5. Hey all, it's good to be back at Jackie's for Survivor. Go Russell, er.. Go Mick!

With two going home tonight, it should be mighty interesting. :)

  6. Hey, Jackie. Good to be with you guys again. Ohhhhh, I forgot this was double elimination tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Whoahhhhh. Jaison just outed Russel as a millionaire.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Jaisson's taking a whole lot of credit, isn't he?

Ooh, now the real backstabbing starts!

    ReplyDelete
  9. Must be another blindside, they are playing it up that Russell is leaving tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  10. If he is as cocky as he has been, then Russell is in danger if he doesn't watch his mouth.

    Shambo is is clueless.

  11. I likey Survivor Bowling! :)

    ReplyDelete
  12. Good for Jaison. Now let's see some action back at camp.

    ReplyDelete
  13. These guys bowl like I do. At least I give my grandkids a lot of laughs!

    ReplyDelete
  14. Natalie is such a sweetheart, standing and clapping for the winner!

    ReplyDelete
  15. Does Russell still have an idol?

    ReplyDelete
  16. Natalie is playing the perfect Social Game. In a season like this with Russell, its actually a brilliant strategy. She could eek this out to a million dollars.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Russell is just blowing smoke.

    ReplyDelete
  18. John is such a cutey. He looks like a baby without the beard.

    ReplyDelete
  19. HI Survivors! We just got in from the tree lighting in our little downtown... just in time for tribal council...

Dusty and Jackie, me too, lol!

  21. Do the numbers in the jury plus the 7 still in it, leave a F3 instead of a F2?

    ReplyDelete
  22. That one cute guy -- he's gotten so little screen time. I practically have no idea who he is.. and it's day 33?

    ReplyDelete
  23. oops, I am a few minutes behind, I paused for a couple minutes!

    ReplyDelete
  24. OK get ready for Shamo's face!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  25. RUSSEL-- not playing the idol! I mean, how many TC's do we have left that he can use it.

IT's Dave, not SHambo....they had her vote first

    ReplyDelete
  26. WOW the tide turned how did I miss that?

    ReplyDelete
  27. Laura looks like she might be sick right now. I love it! She always reminded me of Corinne, and I couldn't stand her.

    ReplyDelete
  28. They made a smart move getting out Dave instead of Shambo.

And what was that about Russell saying that he could beat Dave in the jury vote. Don't think so.

    ReplyDelete
  29. why is no one voting Rusell off? Because they think he will poison the jury?

    ReplyDelete
  30. Sydney, I can't remember a Survivor when someone got less airtime than Brett has gotten this season.

    WHO is Brett?

    ReplyDelete
  31. I had never even seen Brett until last week!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Remember how much we disliked Russell from the start! Little did we know he is the Master of this Game. But for how long? Only one idol left and he never wins anything but maybe he is just waiting!

    ReplyDelete
  33. When did Russell find the idol? I thought he was bluffing about that.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Why hasn't Brett grown a beard by day 30?

    ReplyDelete
  35. The invisible Brett won't be going home tonight!

    ReplyDelete
  36. That throws a monkey wrench in the decision of who goes home!

    ReplyDelete
  37. I think they have through the next vote to use the II.

Brett is safe. This is their last chance to get Russell out. Because of his game play (not his personality) I hope Russell plays the II tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I'm kind of glad Brett won immunity. He's cute and he's nice. And now Foa Foa has to work a little harder.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Anon - Russell found it after the reward picnic three weeks ago (or so)

    ReplyDelete
  40. Uh oh, Monica get the axe tonight. She just let Russell know that he has the idol. She's digging her grave.

    ReplyDelete
  41. is this a good strategy Natalie?

    ReplyDelete
  42. I agree Joy about being glad cute and nice guy won, making everyone work. It turned the tides a bit.

    ReplyDelete
  43. The S**T may hit the fan!

    ReplyDelete
  44. Monica is not being smart right now.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Yay, his name is Brett. Some face time. Finally. WIth a face like that, veddy nicey.

STFU Natalie. Don't fry yourself right now at TC when he has an idol around your neck. I know she wants to destroy him for the jury

    ReplyDelete
  46. Teacher student-- good observation Jeff

    ReplyDelete
  47. dum dum dum dum!

(I'm not saying dumb, that's a suspense song)

    ReplyDelete
  48. Whoa! I would have played it just to be safe!

    ReplyDelete
  49. wow, Russel managed to scare them with that idol around his neck? He's pretty confident to not use it.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I would have sworn that Russell made a bad move. Monica lasted a lot longer than I thought she would or should.

    ReplyDelete
  51. You KNOW Russell's wondering who gave him that second vote!

    ReplyDelete
  52. Monica didn't have the advantage of seeing how Russell got rid of all the women on Foa Foa when they crossed him. Too bad, for her!

    Laura is still a bitch.
    ************

    I'll second that!

    ReplyDelete
  54. Wow, this was a good show. Jackie, am I correct in thinking that Russell has just the next game to play the II?

    ReplyDelete
  55. Have some things to do before bed. Catch you guys later.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I think he has until final 5 to play it, or is it final 6?

    ReplyDelete
  57. Brett will stay at the top of Russ's s**t list now.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Becky - I think next tribal is his last chance

    ReplyDelete
  59. Becky, not just this episode but the whole season has been over the top!
Do you think it is because of Russell?

    ReplyDelete
  60. Great show! Thanks, Jackie for the place to hang out! :)

  62. Sorry I missed the live blog. I was out enjoying dinner and chat with Terry in CA. We did think about you and wondered who was getting the boot!

I can't believe I'm saying this but I'm glad Russell wasn't voted out, either!

  67. I missed the party here, it was a good show, though, and ran quickly with the two elims. Russell showed his scary side and I think there must have been even more of his anger than we saw. Russell can play the rest of them easily, it is himself that causes him problems. No one would have known you made a million or two million whichever it was, if you, Russ, hadn't told them. I am still pulling for him, and I like Natalie, too. Laura isn't making eye contact from her seat on the jury, and she still looks angry. That seems to say it was all personal for her, and that isn't a good way to play this game. If she hadn't been thinking so personally, she might have picked up on what Russell was doing and not been blindsided.

Sunday, December 20th is the Survivor finale. :)

  70. Late in posting as usual, but have to get my three cents in.

I would have definitely had a plan with everyone to vote for Russell this time but with a second person's name to go if he did play the idol. If he played the idol, he would not have it anymore, and easier to get him out later (simple)..or if he had not played it, he would have been gone. (There's logic in that scenario somewhere). He had them running scared and they obviously can't think for themselves.

Shambo is still there! Monica couldn't stop talking...bad move!

Bet Russell plays the idol next TC... two people voted for him and he's not sure who.

  71. Interesting article in 12/18/09 issue of Entertainment Weekly. "Who Will Win Survivor Samoa?" Dalton Ross gives his opinion of why each of the tribe members left on the island would win or not win. But he also lists Jeff Probst's take on each of them.

Natalie: Why she'll win - She's the Amber to Russell's Boston Rob-the nicer, prettier, more easily digestible option for vindictive jury members. Why she won't - She could still be seen as a mere coattail. Which she is. Odds: 3-1

Probst: She's played a very quiet but effective game. But if she makes it to the end, she will have to work hard to comvince the jury that she desrves the money.

Mick: Why he'll win - He was voted tribal leader even though he was totally unqualified and did nothing to earn it. Forshadowing, anyone? Why he won't - The anesthesiologist practically put us to sleep all season with his (lack of) gameplay. At some point you have to do something. Odds: 8-1
Probst: To win he'll need to face the jury, pull a mask off his face, and say "I was playing y'all."

Jaison: Why he'll win - One would hope the law student would know his way around a jury. Why he won't - His flat demeanor often seems robotic. Can robots win Survivor? Are they even eligible? And can we please get Robot Survivor into production immediately? Odds 10-1

Probst: If Jaison makes it to the end, he's capable of a very compelling argument as to why he deserves the million.

Shambo: Why she'll win - She went from Galu zero to Foa Foa hero when she switched sides. The impact of that move is undeniable. Why she won't - The "yoga-loving 90210" jury may respect the move, but not the player. Even Shambo's new allies don't seem to think highly of her. Odds: 20-1

Probst: Her betrayal of Galu combined with being on the bottom of Foa Foa makes it tough for her to win.

Brett: Why he'll win - He's made no enemies along the way, which I suppose is what happens when you never speak. Why he won't - Never has a player made it so far and been shown so little. A winner would never get the invisible edit Brett has. I'm not even sure the other contestants know who the hell he is. Odds: 15-1

Probst: Everybody loves Brett. If Brett makes it to the end, he wins. Period.

Russell: Why he'll win - No one has played the game better. Russell found three hidden idols and got swing vote Shambo to flip. Why he won't - Should the Super Survivor make it to the end, he will come face-to-face with his own personal kryptonite: one seriously bitter jury. Odds 6-1

Probst: He could easily make it to the finals, but can he get the jury vote? It's either a slam dunk or a shutout.

  72. Great article Joy N, thanks! I guess I agree except I think Natalie has played a good game. What some call just coattails is really just a smooth game. Her convincing the Galu girls to vote out Erik was the catalyst to the Galu downfall...one by one each week, and now only Brett (?)! and Shambo(?)!!! remain. Russell is great, however, he has to scramble for it. Natalie does not.

  73. ML, I agree that Natalie seems like a pretty good player to me, too. Those are pretty good odds she was given.

    ReplyDelete
  74. meb..why didn't I think of that??! You are so right, if the survivors had been smart, they would have forced Russ to play the idol...they might even not have voted for him, just made him worried enough to play it. It would/could have changed the game.

I think Natalie has played hard and those good players that left early are examples of how hard it was to stay. Nat did what they didn't, which was not upset Russ. We also don't know what she is really thinking.

    Thanks for the article Joyn
