The Amazing Race Blog Party Post - 3/07/10 Episode

It's starting right now here on the East Coast. As the show airs here on the East Coast, I'll update this entry with major events including the Pit Stop order and Philimination (if any). My actual show review will be posted late tonight over on TV Squad. But the real fun (and most information) will be right here in the comments area. Everyone is invited to join in with your thoughts! Also, if folks want me to throw an Oscars post up for the commenting, please let me know.

They're off to Germany where there's an Intersection -- a roadblock members from two different teams must do.

Pit Stop
1. Louie and Michael! Each won a $5,000 Discover gift card
2. Steve and Allie
3. Joe and Heidi
4. Jet and Cord
5. Carol and Brandy
6. Dan and Jordan
7. Brent and Caite
8. Jordan and Jeff -- NON- PHILIMINATION! They're still in it!

  1. Here we are, ready to race another leg. Since I'm out of the pool I'll be serving drinks and appetizers to the crowd. I will keep an eye on those cowboys, though.

  2. Hang'in here not the Oscars...tivo'ed that for the beginning.

  3. I'm watching but have to be in another room, so I'll check in now an then.

  4. EEK!! Oscars and TAR!! guess which my husband chose, lol

    ReplyDelete
  5. What part of living in NY makes you understand the Hamburg, Germany transit system?

    ReplyDelete
  6. I used to be a big Oscars fan but not so much anymore. The highlights on the morning shows are good enough for me.

Must wait another few hours for TAR to show up here in rainy San Diego. I was thinking today that it's a good thing they don't have a winter BB this year. No sun for weeks, it seems!

  7. A real cowboy's hat never comes off!!! Haha

    ReplyDelete
  8. Hey, everyone. I finally got over here.

Watching the bugee jump -- my partner would think it was raining -- if you get my drift.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Darn...I was watching Dateline and didn't realize it was running an extra half hour. Tuned in just in time to see lots of sauerkraut.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Beer and sauerkraut 2 fermented items together ugh pass the rolaids!!!

    ReplyDelete
  11. Chugging a beer after gulping down sauerkraut? There's a devious mind behind some of these tasks.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Interesting about the Beatle bar. Oh, darn, J&J have a direction challenged taxie driver.

Steve and Alli are my team. They and the cowboys did great at soccer.

I like the way the cops pick up the slack for one other.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Oops, I thought the cowboys had already gotten the five balls.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Sauerkraut and then a large glass of beer?

    Talk about gas!

I think J&J are in trouble. I hope this is a non elimination round.

    ReplyDelete
  15. We should be due either this week or next for a non-elim. Caite's injury might hold them back. J and J need to really get in gear!

    ReplyDelete
  16. Jeff and Jordan aren't doing so well...hope it's a non-elimination night. The Beatle-ish band looks like fun.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Oh my... Jeff and Jordon don't look too good for this and then the model starts with the pain. Of course, we don't know the timing of any one of them really, but maybe they have a chance to get to the soccer field and knock it out.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Sorry, watched half and had to tun in to the Oscars.... Yes, Jackie, why not put up an oscar chat too??? THanks you!!

    Tivoing the rest of TAR

    ReplyDelete
  19. oh no, Jeff and Jordan are in trouble?

Shoot! Noooooo.... I want them to stay. They've been so polite.

  20. commercial break .J&J just got their clue!

    ReplyDelete
  21. not looking good for Jeff and Jordan :(

    ReplyDelete
  22. Get that beer down, Jeff. Good boy.

    ReplyDelete
  23. BTW< Steve Marting and Alec Baldwin are totally ACING the hosting of the Oscars. Lots of great performances, deserving nominees this year.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Oh no. Please don't be an elim round.

    ReplyDelete
  25. he would have knocked them out by now if it was an elim race!

    ReplyDelete
  26. WONDERFUL!!!! Go Jeff and Jordan.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Yes! Non-elimination! I think Jeff nad Jordan are being really classy.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I agree with you Sally....they are very real.

    ReplyDelete
  29. WAHOO!!! I just knew it! They just can't go home yet!

    GO JEFF AND JORDAN!

  30. Catch you guys Thursday. Take care.

Thanks, Jackie. Will look for your TV Squad post tomorrow.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Sydney... did you mean don't or do make it an elimination race?

When he started to talk with them without telling them they were eliminated I knew it was good news. Well, at least I was hoping it was!

    ReplyDelete
  32. meb, I meant what you just said!

    ReplyDelete
  33. woah, Sarah Jessica Parker is chewing gum! Never seen her commit a fashion saux pas on such a night....

    ReplyDelete
  34. Jackie is it possible to throw up an Oscar Post like you mentioned??? It may be only me commenting live... but I would like to hear what you and others thought of the show even after the fact.

    ReplyDelete
  35. So glad that Jeff and Jordan were saved by the non-elim.

My pool pals are still in it too, Caitlin and Brent.

Hope both couples do better next week.

I'm pulling for Jeff Bridges tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Im watching all the glamour of the Oscars...even though Im not crazy about Baldwin......
So glad to hear it was a non elim leg of the race...J & J yay!!

    ReplyDelete
  37. TerryinCA, you, Tessa and I have Caitlin and Brent in the pool. Tho, I'm also rooting for our BB loverlies, J&J. It's been a good season so far.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Wow, James taylor just sang thru the montage of those who have passed away... age hasn't affected his honey voice at all... and they didn't show Farrah Fawcet! Wonder why?

    ReplyDelete
  39. I wonder, did Farrah ever make a big screen movie? I can't recall.

    ReplyDelete
  40. GOod point.

Now Michelle Pfeifer. How does she keep that jaw so tight? We're the same age and mine started going around age 43 and fell around age 47-48.... :-(

    ReplyDelete
  41. YAY! Jeff and Sandra won. But I do think Meryl Streep is one of, if not THE best actresses of our time and would have been very happy to see her win.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Hi ladies! Had to stick with the Oscars tonight as I was liking the show and nominees this year.

Syd, I also noticed the open mouth gum chew from SJP - so out of character! I really liked her Chanel... What did you think?

The Hurt Locker dominated - has anyone seen it?? Thrilled to see Jeff & Sandra take it home this year. Joy N, I so agree that Meryl is absolutely one of the best! Loved her in both Julie & Julia and the other one with Alec Baldwin.

Also watched Barbara Walters - didn't realize it was her final special. Loved the look back thru the years.

Good night of entertainment and happy to hear that J&J were not Philiminated. Back on track with TAR next week.

    Have a great week!

  43. Hi All

    Thought Neil Patrick Harris did
    a spectacular opening number.

So glaf J & J were not eliminated.

Like the cowboys and cops as well.

  44. You can tell Jeff is a good Chicago guy the way he chugged that beer down :)

    ReplyDelete
  45. This is a message to all here:

Please keep Zoetawny in your thoughts and prayers today and in the coming week. If we remember right, Her husband is having pretty intense back surgery today. It would be great if you have any words of support or wisdom, to post it here, so she can sign on when weary and feel the love.

Thanks Jackie, for providing a place for this too.

    Thanks everyone.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Anon, I thought the same thing about jeff chugging the beer, being from CHicago myself!

    ReplyDelete
  47. OT - DWTS announced that Brooke Burke will be the new host
(ess) starting on the 22nd. Melissa Roycroft, Vanessa Minnillo and Mel B were also in the running.

Zoetawny, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Truly hope that things go very well today. Also hope you have a chance to update us.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Was anyone else confused by the fact that the cowboys (1st place last week) and the detectives (last place last week) seemed to arrive at the first leg almost together? And no departure times were shown this week except for the cowboys. Thought that was weird.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Sydney, they left off Ricardo Montalban off that list, too.

  51. I enjoy Jeff & Jordan BUT... is it my imagination or is Jordan contributing almost nothing to the race? (& are they really still together or did they just get together to do this show?)

    ReplyDelete
  52. dla -- I loved SJP's outfit, but I wanted to lick my finger and smooth down her hair in front. It got away from her I'm sure when the red carpet sprinkled but why didn't Matthew do that before she went up to present!?!

What did you think of it? I thought her eyes should not have been lined inside in black as they made them look too small instead of accented. But I have no real complaints ever of her. Except that she doesn't swear enough for a NYer like me! ... lol

Def saw the Hurt locker. Was fabulous.

And I know about Barbara Walters. I vowed to watch it this year and totally forgot about it AGAIN! I keep waiting for her to come out with the boxed set but it never happens. She siad you could watch it online today on the View. But where I wonder?

Did anyone else see that too? What did y'all think?

    ReplyDelete
  53. little late but i was screaming at my tv, hoping it was a non elimination week! J&J better get it together!

    Caela

  55. I've read in a couple of places that Louis Stravato (of Louie & Michael, the tecs) has been put on desk duty during a drug probe. It's part of an ongoing investigation in which 3 officers have already been arrested for allegedly participating in a cocaine drug ring. Louie was one of four officers placed on administrative duties while the investigation continues. No other comments were made about his possible involvement. Could be maybe some dealer just threw his name in there?
