Nope, not keen on it. However, due to March Madness taking away Survivor tonight, I figured I'd touch on American Idol. I've been watching the performance shows, but missing the results shows until last night when it finally wasn't against Survivor.
The only contestant I really, really like is Crystal Bowersox. I found some of her stuff on YouTube and feel she's the one most likely to succeed. If she doesn't win AI, she'll be recording anyway. I liked Lilly second best of the girls. Sure, she gets voted off! I'm no one to really complain as I don't call to vote. But still!
With the guys, I'm over Andrew Garcia. He's let me down for a good three weeks now. I don't care how touching his backstory is. Heck, at his age I had a much more traumatic history recently behind me. Big Mike is okay, but he just seems a bit full of himself. Kid Aaron has a nice voice. Perhaps if I was fourteen, I'd be all gaga about him. Casey is okay. The one whose actual voice catches my attention is Lee Dewyze.
What do you guys think?
American Idol has done absolutely nothing for me this year. Haven't been able to stomach even a full episode. Haven't watched any at all for the last 2 weeks.
ReplyDeleteI agree about Crystal and Lee, though I like Casey too. Most of them, I think, have been over-hyped by the judges. There's a lot of inconsistency week to week.
ReplyDeleteI'm still watching but don't know for how much longer. This season has been a real yawner so far.
With Simon gone next season, I'm doubting I'll watch at all anymore. Will probably watch his new show.
I finally got to sit and watch an AI edisode from start to finish this week and I was like - Lee whatever Who IS That? All I have seen hyped is Crystal, Siobahn (sp?) Big Mike, Garcia guy. I think that one of the right people went home - but I wish Lilly was still there. I found her interesting. Oh well as you say I don't call in so I can not complain too loudly.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite gal on American Idol this year is Siobhan. I think she is really really good. Crystal is too, but I think Siobhan is better. I'm cruious about her name though. It always sounds like "Chevon" when they say it. Unusual.
ReplyDeleteAs for guys...Lee is my fav, but they are totally right about him needing more personality. It comes across as bored and angry to me. Second favorite guys is probably...hmm. Guess I don't really have one. I like some of the others (i.e. Casey) but am not thrilled by them
Not sure if I like Ellen on AI or not. She definitely adds humor, but whenever she critiques it seems silly and fake because we all know she isn't musical (like when she tells people they are pitchy--really? What pitch should they have been in? Do you know?)
Simon leaving will be the Kiss of Death I think.
Siobhan should have been the one saved by the judges not Big Mike. He's ok but really cheesy. There is no real star this season and I for one am severely disappointed. Ellen is a joke and should stick to daytime chat shows that no one watches. And by the way folks, pitch is just a sound. They should be saying that the intonation is off or that they were flat or sharp. Pitchy is the same as saying "dude" to express everything from "wow" to "Simon's making the smartest move by leaving AI".
