The Amazing Race: Unfinished Business Season Premiere Blog Party

It's back and it's even in HD this year! Everyone is welcome to join in with comments as the show airs -- that's where the real fun is! I'll be updating this post with any big news as I watch it here on the East Coast. My full review of the show will be posted on TV Squad either late this evening or early tomorrow. I'd love to have you visit there, too!

Lifeguard Laurie has the blog pool set. If you didn't make the cut-off, just jump in the pool and cheer on your favorite team. Here's the breakdown:

* Amanda & Kris - meb, Nana in NW, DKNYNC

* Gary & Mallory- Karen in CA. Becky, Laurie
* Flight Time & Big Easy - Terry in PA, Jackie, Monty934
* Jaime & Cara - Donna in AL, JoyN
* Jet & Cord - ML, Margo
* Kent & Vyxsin - Rbennie,
* LaKisha & Jennifer - PDX Granny, Donna in FL
* Margie & Luke - dla, Merrilee
* Mel & Mike - Jenna's Mom, Sydney
* Ron & Christina - Lisanne, SueGee
* Zev & Justin - Zoetawny, Brent

Teams ready? GO!

The winning team of the first leg will get an Express Pass allowing them to skip a task. Teams need to find an item for Phil in the desert before getting their clue. The first eight teams go on the first flight, the others 90 minutes later. The last team has a U-Turn to start out the race.

Kris and Amanda got the penalty.

Pit Stop -
1. Gary and Mallory - won Express Pass - race still on new clue
2. Amanda and Kris
3. Kisha and Jen
4. Zev and Justin
5. Globetrotters
6. Jaime and Cara
7. Marge and Luke
8. Ron and Christina
9. Mel and Mike
10. Kynt and Vyxsin

The cowboys, Jet and Cord, are clueless on the puzzle. But, since it's a "to be continued," they probably won't be Philiminated.

  4. Amanda and Kris... I can't remember whether they were likable or not. Guess I'll find out soon enough. Thanks for the pool Laurie.

  5. Really like all the new avatars.

  6. Hey guys. Not in this pool, but I love the cowboys!

    ReplyDelete
  7. Not making it easy for them, are they?

    ReplyDelete
  8. Petals, I agree -- cowboys are my faves

    ReplyDelete
  9. Oh, Mel & Mike, cool.
(sorry, I know it isnt P.C., but I think the deaf guy is a big baby)

    ReplyDelete
  10. Then it must be a twice-in-a-lifetime opportunity, Cowboys.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I would never have made it. Didn't know it was Quantas.

  12. The pool is just a bit different than what I sent Jackie earlier today.

I mistakenly left off Delee, who was an early responder, so I added her to the team next in line. Then I realized I left Rbennie all alone with her team so I moved myself down there. Pretty sure they won't win!
Here's the corrected version of the pool. If I left anyone off who sent me a message (and it's possible) please let me know!

Amanda & Kris - meb, Nana in NW, DKNYNC
Gary & Mallory- Karen in CA. Becky,
Flight Time & Big Easy - Terry in PA, Jackie, Monty934
Jaime & Cara - Donna in AL, JoyN, Delee
Kent & Vyxsin - Rbennie, Laurie
LaKisha & Jennifer - PDX Granny, Donna in FL
Margie & Luke - dla, Merrilee
    Mel & Mike - Jenna's Mom, Sydney
Ron & Christina - Lisanne, SueGee
Zev & Justin - Zoetawny, Brent

My team isn't doing so well.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  16. Welcome aboard, Delee!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Thank you globtrotter for rembering someone was fighting for life and this is just a game

    ReplyDelete
  18. Thank you Joy N I like how they changed it up some. Can get stale!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Haha the sharks are probably full!

    ReplyDelete
  20. Am glad they didn't just eliminate the last team before the race even began.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Anyone watching tonight can still join the pool. Just let me know and I'll add you to the list randomly.

Please send me an email through my profile or let me know on this thread.

  22. Merrilee, I agree. It was a lousy break that the emergency happened, but it is just a game.

Mallory is a little more show-boaty than she was last time.

    ReplyDelete
  23. ********** it is snowing here

    ReplyDelete
  24. At least the Globetrotter was sympathetic about the emergency landing.

Cowboys are left at the end. My team already has a penalty for coming in last at the beginning. Yes, I'm glad too they weren't eliminated at the starting gate.

    ReplyDelete
  25. It really is nice to know who all these people are by name.

    ReplyDelete
  26. i just thought the same thing Joy! usually takes me half a season to get the names down!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Mallory and Gary are doing great now. I hope they keep it up.

    ReplyDelete
  28. wow they still have to keep racing! I forgot how annoying Mallory is!

    ReplyDelete
  29. I didn't remember Mallory being such an airhead.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I can not believe how the Cowboys are so far behind!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Not looking so good for the cowboys with others being helped so much.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I hope the Cowboys can get back in it! id hate for them to be out on the first day!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Go Cowboys! I hope the editing is making them look further behind than they actually are!

All the beautiful beaches and water and sun are very appealing, with a blizzard going on outside.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Oh, yeah, they're still racing...cowboys aren't out.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Cowboys are toast...sad

    ReplyDelete
  36. To be continued. Cowboys still have a shot at this.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Hey everybody!

I think I might have had Mel and Mike before? No, that was Mike and someone, the cops. No matter what, I'm rooting for the Cowboys, 100% and Kent and Vixyn.

    ReplyDelete
  38. i hate that there was no elimination tonite!

    ReplyDelete
  39. hope the cowboys can get a bit of luck....

    ReplyDelete
  40. What could he possibly be doing that he can't see it quote. That is a familiar phrase. I'm surprised the other teams, especially Margie didn't know it, since they had most of it...

    ReplyDelete
  41. Tough break for the Cowboys. They better have some horses in the second half of the challange so they can make up some time. Either that or something that has to be roped.

The season of second chances is a lot harder than usual.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Has TAR done this before--had a pit stop that wasn't the stopping place for the day? Or had a continued episode?

    ReplyDelete
  43. They have done continue racing many times...

    ReplyDelete
  44. Thanks Jackie... I have to admit, I couldn't remember my password for Survivor. Tonight I just kept putting things in until it worked. I wrote it down!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Sally - I don't think they have had one in the first leg, but they've done it before. They probably didn't want to eliminate any of these teams in the premiere.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Nobody lost tonight? I missed Caela's email so I added her to the pool list.

Amanda & Kris - meb, Nana in NW, DKNYNC
Gary & Mallory- Karen in CA. Becky, Caela
Flight Time & Big Easy - Terry in PA, Jackie, Monty934
Jaime & Cara - Donna in AL, JoyN, Delee
Kent & Vyxsin - Rbennie, Laurie
LaKisha & Jennifer - PDX Granny, Donna in FL
Margie & Luke - dla, Merrilee
    Mel & Mike - Jenna's Mom, Sydney
Ron & Christina - Lisanne, SueGee
Zev & Justin - Zoetawny, Brent

  47. Thanks Laurie for adding me to the pool!

  48. The only thing bad about the "To Be Continued" is that next Sunday the show is up against the Oscars!! TG for DVR's It is the one show they show us on the Left Coast the same time you on the East Coast see it.

  49. As usual, I'm waiting for the show to start on the west coast before splashing into the pool, but wanted to stop by long enough to say Howdy!

I don't think I'm going to wait for the goodies tho. I've seen how little have been left for late comers in the past. I'll go ahead and leave my bucket of brew for the rest of you to enjoy, but I'm taking one with me to sip on while I wait for my time.

If anyone brings hot wings, make sure some are saved for me. I figure I should take advantage of any virtual snacks since they only have virtual calories. : )

  50. Just watched my taped version and happy to see that Jaime and Cara are still the "UGLY AMERICANS"... geesh. I had those girls in the pool when they raced. I'm soooo happy to have the Globetrotters this time out. :)

    THANK-YOU LAURIE....

    ReplyDelete
  51. Jackie and Delee, thanks for answering my question. Having a continued episode doesn't surprise me as much as having a pit stop that's really just a clue stop.

I assumed a pit stop meant a chance to refuel and replenish. (Yup...I watched part of the Daytona 500 today.)

    ReplyDelete
  52. I'm very glad so many of you are happy with your pool picks. It was all up to chance!

    ReplyDelete
  53. Well here's an advantage to being a Canadian (not that there aren't a ton of them already). TAR is on the same network as the Oscars in Canada so the show will be on an hour earlier in Canada than in the United States. Instead of having to choose between TAR and the Oscars I have to choose between TAR and 60 Minutes!

    ReplyDelete
  54. So glad the show is HD. I've complained for YEARS that it needs to be in HD (Really should have been one of the first shows in HD, not one of the last), but man oh man did it finally pay off, it was awesome in HD!!

BUT of course, the ep had a downside: The Globetrotters. Once again the idiots with the shameless advertising are back. Remember Kafka stumped and they had to quit. Well this first leg what do they do? Instead of solving the flag puzzle, they admit on TV that they just followed the pack and would get the answer from someone else, and Zed and Justin were happy to oblige. I HATE that they can just go around and expect that another team will give them a clue that they worked hard for, absolutely ridiculous. Here's my order of people who need to go ASAP:

    1.) Trotters
2.) Mike and Mel White (sorry, if you were in School of Rock, one TAR is too many, two is absurd)
3.) Jamie and Cara (Jamie is Playboy's Miss Jan 2010 and both are so goddamned rude)
4.) Mallory and her dad (sorry, I think semi-celeb beauty paegent people shouldn't be on TAR, let alone two seasons of TAR)

I can live with the rest, especially Zed and Justin and Margie and Luke :-)
