  1. I wonder if this is why they changed Survivor to Wednesdays. We would have missed a lot of their season as there's been a lot of these games on Thursdays evenings this season.

  17. I am allergic to tea, so I would be in BIG trouble! I treat myself to a glass every two or three weeks. I am okay if I spread it out like that.

  20. OMG. I really do not like that deaf kid. Didnt like him the first time around, still dont. Nothing to do with his impairment, either. I think he is a spoiled brat. IMO, sorry.

  21. Luke gets so frustrated. Maybe mom needs to loosen those apron strings a bit more.

  23. Luke is in trouble ! He gets overwhelmed and then gets whiney. I think Marge must bail him out in every day life when the going gets touch. Am I the only one who thinks this?

  24. You're not the only one, Backy.

  25. Thanks Jackie, glad he is OK.
Allergic to tea?? How unusual. I'm not a daily tea drinker, but I do enjoy a cup now & then. Yeesh, sorry Becky.

  26. Luke looks to mom as tho to say,"Do I HAVE to???".
    He is soooo coddled.

  30. Flight Time and Big Easy aren't having too good of a day either. That spilled paint may cost them.

  31. Please dont think I am a meanie, but I think Luke will still be living in his mom's basement in 15 years. He just has no ... testosterone.

    ReplyDelete
  32. That million rupees (approx. $22thou) is a nice prize.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I flipped to tennis. Did anyone get Philiminated?

    ReplyDelete
  34. I just think Luke's mom needs to let him fall on his own once in awhile so he can grow up.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Did anyone else see Kent in the drag queen bar on NCIS this week. I stopped it to show Mom and it was defiantly him. I guess he is a professional extra.

  36. I agree with the things being said about Luke and his mom, and I haven't even seen this week's show yet. I remember thinking that last time, too. No matter what, kids need to be allowed to experience failing and frustration so they develop the skills needed to live life. His physical issue is not his main problem. His mother babying and protecting him is!

  37. Goodbye, Margie and Luke.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Next show in two weeks. I hate when they do that.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Okay, I have to go. Catch up with you Wed.

  40. You had to know Margie and Luke were in trouble on this one when they gulped the tea like it was bad tasting medicine. You have to believe that anytime they ask you to do something pointless on this show that there really is a point to it.

Tea tasting done right involves three main senses - sight, smell and taste and in that order. You look at the colour of the blend, smell the aroma and then taste. That's how Ron aced it, and why Luke ended up drinking most of the table. Impatience in this game is a killer.

Becky, I was thinking the exact same thing while watching the show. I think Margie probably is overprotective of him, fights his battles for him, takes care of him, handles all of life's frustrations and struggles for him, shoulders all the responsiblity. She needs to let go so he can learn to deal with life's frusrrations and struggles and to cope. As Margie will not always be around for him as sooner or later, our parents get older and well, usually children outlive parents. And sooner or later, everyone has to learn how to live, cope, survive without a parent or an elder taking care of us.

  43. What also frustrates me about Luke and Margie is that I had a friend in college who was totally deaf. He was very independent and strong. He could read lips so he sat at the front of the room for each lecture in college. He to read lips plus take notes. He had lots of friends and he was such so strong, independent, mature and he would get pissed if anyone even alluded to him being different or not being able to do something.
This was the 70s and there were no special accomodations at Penn State and a large campus and no special tutors for him. His friends and roommate helped him and there was no email and TDD was its infancy but he was always upbeat and confident.

The only thing different with my friend from Luke was that he would speak as he became totally deaf at the age of 6 so he had learned to speak and he could converse.

  46. I thought that when the college boy dont know his name broke the tea cup on purpose was disrespectful to the culture of the country they should have received a penalty. Karen
