Survivor: Redemption Island - 4/06 Episode Blog Party

survivor,jackiestvblog

The show will be starting in about five minutes here on the East Coast. As it airs, I'll update this post with major news while sharing some opinions on what I see both here and in comments. Of course, the comments area is where the real party is! Everyone is welcome to join in, the water's fine! Oh. And bring snacks. Snacks are always good.

Tonight should be a big night -- the merge is on and, if promos can be believed, Redemption Island starts all over again!

I so hope Matt hangs in there over Sarita!

Everyone from both camps are going to go to the duel on RI. They're thinking merge. Uh-oh -- Matt has a bad cut on his foot. The winner of the duel will go back in the game. Double uh-oh -- it's a balance duel using feet.

Woohoo! Matt's back in the game, cut and all! And, the merge is ON. A new beach and with the next TC, RI starts all over again. Heh ... the "Spanish" name for the tribe Rob suggested means nothing -- it's the ringleader of Amber's stuffed animals.

An interesting and different challenge. Each is balancing on a log, with a dish balancing a ball. Matt might not do well. He's still limping. Phillip is shaky. "I've got rhythm, baby." (What does that have to do with balance?) It's down to Mike and Natalie.

Natalie wins first individual immunity!

Matt told Rob he wasn't going to flip and then told Rob about the idol Mike offered to use on him. Now Rob doesn't trust him and wants him out.

Ralph used the idol on Mike.

Grant, Grant, Grant, Grant, Grant, Steve, Matt, Matt, Matt, Matt, Matt, Matt.

Ack, Matt is out again!

  34. Balls are glued to his what???

    ReplyDelete
  35. There's a fly on Mike's ball!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Wow, unbelievable! I thought Mike had that in the bag. Probably cursing the fly!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Didn't it look like Mike just stepped out?

    ReplyDelete
  38. I thought so too joyn...which makes no sense, since he really needed this win. I guess his feet gave out before the fly got to him.

    ReplyDelete
  39. It was a little odd, joy n. It didn't look like that fly messed him up that bad. Too bad for Mike!

    ReplyDelete
  40. I have no clue who some of these people are. Julie, Grant, Mike, Natalie - people that the cameras ignore.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I don't believe God helps people win contests either.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Matt, you are too sweet for this game!

    ReplyDelete
  43. I don't think God does that either Joyn, but Matt sure is being a good representative for Him... :)

    ReplyDelete
  44. From last week, I may have missed someone discussing it...but when Rob threw that clue away what if it was for another idol. I thought that was a stupid move to destroy before he read it!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Hey, everyone. Couldn't get on the computer DH and nephew were looking for information.

I also missed a lot of the show. Thank goodness I am taping it.

    ReplyDelete
  46. It's getting hard keeping up with all these plots! They change every five seconds.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Yes, Meb, he certainly is!

  49. Thinking Matt is a gone...

    ReplyDelete
  50. That was very strange of Ralph to save Mike

    ReplyDelete
  51. !! Was anyone gonna vote for Mike? Dummy Furburger.

    ReplyDelete
  52. The Greg votes shocked me. Matt is GONE again!

    ReplyDelete
  53. wow. oh no. Poor Matty.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Poor Matt... too honest to play SURVIVOR!!

    ReplyDelete
  55. I can't believe that they voted him out again. And he kept his word!

    ReplyDelete
  56. Redemption Island AGAIN????

    ReplyDelete
  57. This is the first time such a likable guy is treated so terribly.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Matt! Back to redemption Isle! He may be glad to get away from this crowd about now.

    ReplyDelete
  59. It may be the first time, but at least he keeps getting chances to return!

    ReplyDelete
  60. Maybe Matt will win the America Vote and get his money by being a nice guy! Like Rupert!

    ReplyDelete
  61. How much money does America's player receive. Matt will get my vote.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Petals, I loved Rupert!

    ReplyDelete
  63. Phillip does keep it interesting.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Good night all....thanks Jackie!

    ReplyDelete
  65. I love Rupert, too! And I like Matty. He will get my vote, too. Rupert got a million. But I think it is less $$ now. In any case, I hope Matt wins it.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Matt finally figured out he's not good at the game. I'd vote for him today for fan favorite, but that could change before the game it over. He should have kept quiet about the vote out Rob plan. DUMB!

    ReplyDelete
  67. Well, I'm really sad they did this to Matt, again. Now, I remember why I dislike Rob so much in his season. He would have been faithful to Rob. What a slap in the face. Poor Matt. He can do this again! Go Matt!

    Penny

    ReplyDelete
  68. Penny, Rob got it wrong the first time he blindsided Matt and he did again. Matt was his own worst enemy though. ):

    ReplyDelete
  69. Hahaha to just about every comment Petals. Unholy thoughts about Matt. There's a lot of that goin' around these days! I wonder how RI is going to work now. Would Matt come right back in if he wins again? There is no natural 'spot' like the merge provided. I am rooting for Matt, too. I have liked Rob, too, but he seems to be getting nastier. And my first thought when Mike was out of the challenge was he threw it. That fly had nothing on him or his balls.

  70. I love Matt dearly but Rob is playing a serious game and doing so very well. I'm sure he has to realize that getting to the end will be very difficult but I love his moxie. Matt is too honest for this game, methinks.

    ReplyDelete
  71. I agree. I think if he makes it back in again that will show for sure if he's got what it takes. He voted Grant I think this time but his honesty with Rob is what killed him. Let's see if he can triumph at RI AND play his cards closer to the vest.

  72. Has anyone figured out who voted for Steve... did they show it somewhere? Just curious... I figured it was Matt.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Meb, they'll show the vote clip tomorrow at the CBS site with no comments but you can see who voted for who.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Matt's girlfriend may have voted for Steve because she didn't want to vote for Matt with the rest of her tribe.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Matt's constant references to God remind me of something Yogi Berra said years ago. He's watch all these players get up to hit and cross themselves before each pitch and he said that it was ridiculous: "Just let God watch the game."

    ReplyDelete
  76. OMG Jackie! I can't believe I can finally get over here on the night of the show to comment!

It was the first time I haven't delighted in Rob tonight. When he said how stupid Matt was for telling him. I know he had to get rid of him but he didn't need to be that evil. Husband doesn't like Rob at all and I've been rooting for him the whole time.

It never pays to follow your faith in this game. Don't have to be hideous, but it's not a place where that works, seems to me.

    ReplyDelete
  77. I'm bummed that Matt is out again, but I think it was a brilliant move by Rob. Matt is a great guy, but he is not cut out for Survivor. He can play the physical part of the game very well, but not so much the mental. I believe that if he would have gone to Rob and simply told him what Mike was planning without revealing that he at first was going to go along with it and take Andrea with him, the outcome would have been different. It make him look flaky. I think it was Matt that voted for Steve because he thought that was what all of Ometepe was going to do. Andrea voted for Matt. I hope he continues to dominate at RI.

    ReplyDelete
  78. I'm actually starting to enjoy Philip lately. He's certifiably insane, but he really ups the entertainment factor for me, LOL.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Feel real sorry for Matt.

I think once 1 of the stronger
men get sent to redemption island
    he will be gone.

As someone said God has more things
    to worry about then survivor.

    Estelle

    ReplyDelete
  80. I'm sure the Ometepe bunch told Matt they were voting for Steve, so Matt was probably the vote for Steve.

Andrea will stick with Rob. She's smart enough to stick with the power, even if she does like Matt. She's in it to win the game, not be loyal to Matt.

  81. Rbennie, I know what you mean. Phillip's Samurai story had me in stiches!

    ReplyDelete
  82. Matt was the one who voted for Steve. Figured that had to be whom he was told Ometepe would vote for. I just watched the clip.

Rob was right to do it because even during the tribe council you could see Matt was facilitating again on who to vote for. Matt's a good guy and a strong one but he's really not playing a good game.

    ReplyDelete
  83. As someone said God has more things
    to worry about then survivor.

  85. Matt had the OPPORTUNITY for greatness, and an epic survivor comeback but - no go. He really cemented the fact that he's not only a truly POOR survivor contestant, but also pretty clueless when it comes to understanding people. He deserved to be sent back to redemption, and i hope he is quickly dispatched.
