The Amazing Race 19 Blog Party - 11/20/2011

Due to football, 60 Minutes didn't start until 7:23 PM ET here in the NYC viewing area. So I'm assuming that The Amazing Race should start about 23 minutes late. Once it starts, I'll update this post with the major happenings. But the real fun is in the comments; please pipe in with your thoughts! See you there!

It's almost immediately into a Roadblock -- memorizing a Hans Christian Andersen poem, going on a trip, then repeating the poem from memory. After Roadblock success, they're off to Legoland! Yikes! They have to put together a Lego puzzle while spinning on a ride.

The teams are then off to Hamburg, Germany.

Eek, my emotional favorite team, Bill and Cathi, are lost trying to find LegoLand.

From Hamburg, teams are off to Brussels, Belgium -- the third country in the day. Uh-oh, Cindy and Ernie lost their train tickets and can't afford to buy more. They lucked out, no conductors checked for tickets.

Body-building routine is next. Heehee.

Pit Stop --

1. Amani and Marcus - won a trip to Panama
And it's immediately to the next leg without the rest of the finish order. I'm assuming it might be non-elim.

  1. Hey, Jackie. How is the weather up there. I loved the pictures today. Unfortunately the tree leaves down here go from green to d-e-a-d.

  2. The weather today was cloudy and temps in the low 60s. Can't complain about that in late November in the Northeast!

  3. Hi folks.

I agree about the weather, Jackie. It's been a nearly perfect November

  4. I called it last week...Legoland!

    Good evening all!

  5. Hey Becky, Hey Jackie, Hey Delee, Hey Pumpkin.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Hey, Joe and Delee. I was beginning to think Jackie would be stuck with just me tonight.

  7. I like the snowboarders. I'm not swimming this TAR.

  8. When in Travel and Tourism school, my intl report was on Denmark. Had to do a one week travel plan.

  9. of topic: we had a total sitcom moment at dinner. Max, the boxer, stood at the buffet and ate an entire chocolate pie while we were eating dinner in the other room. The plate wass clean, not a crumb left.

  10. Good, I was afraid for the older company. I just caught a glimpse, who loses their tickets?

    ReplyDelete
  11. Must have been a delicious pie, but now you will never know. Dogs will sneak anything they can get there teeth on!

    ReplyDelete
  12. It would be so cool if Bill and Cathi (the older couple) won it all even if they're not my blog pool team. They're doing the best of any older couple surrounded by younger racers so far. And they have a great relationship, too.

  13. there were other pies & desserts. he had a whipped cream moustache. it was too funny.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I am sorry that guy is creepy!

    ReplyDelete
  15. Petals, I am LOL. Max sounds like a Beagle, not a Boxer! One of my buddies told about the time her dog got on the table celebrating her nephews high school graduation party for her nephew and drank most of the punch. They didn't have enough punch to throw it out so they just added what they had left. They figured that high school kids wouldn't know -- and they didn't.

    ReplyDelete
  16. LOL Becky - punch? Was it spiked?

    ReplyDelete
  17. i would get so motion sick

    ReplyDelete
  18. I hope the older couple wins too, Jackie.

I would be tossing my cookies if I was on that ride.

    ReplyDelete
  19. No, it was for high school kids.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Hi all. Late.

I couldn't ride in that ride. I'd lose my cookies.

  21. What is on the ground? Is it the ticket?

    ReplyDelete
  22. hey Penny

At least they didnt have some big food task before the spinning ride.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I love the snowboarders.

I have a beagle and she's just great. Such loving dogs. I really love to watch her dance for her dinner. She's old, but so sweet.

  24. Ahhh, one of the legos!

    ReplyDelete
  25. One of their puzzle pieces flew out of the car, so they will not be able to finish w/o it!

    ReplyDelete
  26. OK now will they go to Mannequin Piss in Brussels or have to eat brussel sprouts! HAHA

    ReplyDelete
  27. Our Beagle, Sarah, ate a chocolate pie 4 years ago at Thanksgiving. I didn't see her and asked my husband where she was. He said he didn't know. He found her in the dining room. She came in with a guilty look. My husband said the pies looked okay. However she had whipped creme on her whiskers, she ate almost the whole pie. LOL

When we had our first mini-dachshund, he did something similar. My FIL would buy these expensive, real chocolate covered cherries. We blocked the tree so Scrappy wouldn't knock it down. We got home and it was down. So were all the chocolate covered cherries. He licked off the chocolate and left the cherries. LOL It must have taken him forever! Heehee.

  28. Penny - now that is funny to imagine. But cute, too.

    ReplyDelete
  29. CHOCOLATE IS TOXIC TO DOGS. If there is real chocolate in that pie vomiting should be induced immediately.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Joe - this pie was chocolate flavored pie filling, we checked. Not a toxic amount.

    ReplyDelete
  31. My team is the one who lost their ticket! Oh, well, then I can cheer for Bill and Cathi. I hope they find it. See why I listed fanny pack as something you need if you do the race?

    ReplyDelete
  32. omg, it's name is Mannequin Piss? LOL

    ReplyDelete
  33. LOL. The Marquis De Pissere! I think that's how you say it. LOL

    Penny

    ReplyDelete
  34. Chocolate is even more toxic to cats. But, luckily, their taste bud receptors have no interest in it ... unlike dogs.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Penny, those are funny stories.

    ReplyDelete
  36. The X brought me a small statue of it! My team too Becky...grrrr!

But if you do not put your stuff in the fanny pack...then...oops!

    ReplyDelete
  37. is that where the word "piss" came from? from that kid peeing?

    ReplyDelete
  38. Some dogs can tolerate it better than others. When my two dogs ate the chocolate, it didn't make them sick. Scrappy was a puppy and it came up anyway. LOL, much to my FIL's dislike. Heehee.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Not sure I want to see this! My "EYES"

    ReplyDelete
  40. Oh gosh! It IS Manneken Pis. How absolutely funny!

I loved Brussels, it's a very pretty city. The modern Glass building was awesome.

    Penny

    ReplyDelete
  41. Screenshots Jackie PLZ!

    ReplyDelete
  42. LOL. Those are some SMALL outfits!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Ooooh, but the Snowboarders look rather NICE. LOL

    Oooh, so does the ex-NFLer!!!

    LOL

    Penny

    ReplyDelete
  44. That may be the most humiliating challenge in TAR history. OMG!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Lordy, what a horrible leg for the contestants!

    ReplyDelete
  46. man, roger's long tennis shorts are so much sexier...IMO

    ReplyDelete
  47. Where did Cindy get those horrible bruises?

    ReplyDelete
  48. yikes...especially the women, because i dont even wax unless i am in a relationship. I guess maybe the producers warn them to groom?

    ReplyDelete
  49. I agree, Joe. Just looking at what they had to wear was enough to make me cringe.

    ReplyDelete
  50. funny, ernie's exit skittle

    ReplyDelete
  51. Everyones two favorite teams might be in trouble.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Dang it. That has to be very frustrating.

    Penny

    ReplyDelete
  53. Marcus and Amani to the pitstop, glad they got a first finish!

    ReplyDelete
  54. A continue leg...yikes!

    ReplyDelete
  55. I'm glad Amani and Marcus won this leg.

Frankly, after what everyone went through, no one should be eliminated.... extended race or not.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I am off. See you next week. I am just hoping I can talk the family let me watch Survivor on Thursday.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Well. to be continued...

I won't be here Wednesday night, going up North for Thanksgiving.

    Hope it wonderful for everyone.

    Will miss Survivor...:-(

  58. Have a happy thanksgiving and agood trip, Penny

  59. My friend was having a thanksgiving dinner and prepared a
    12 pound turkey.

We were all in the living room having drinks and her golden retriever managed to open the refrigerator and eat most of the
    turkey.

    She just started screaming and
    laughing at the same time
