The Amazing Race 30: February 7 Blog Party

Ready for two hours of this? Oy! I'll be live blogging the major happenings the best I can as they air here on the East Coast. But the real party is in the comments area -- come join in on the fun!

The Left Coast Lovely SqueeGee SueGee has updated the blog pool --

#TeamIndyCar (Alex & Conor)    SueGee, Brian, Brenda
#TeamOceanRescue (Lucas & Brittany)    Donna in FL, Glenn Allen
#TeamYale (Henry & Evan)    Jackie, Ed in Ohio

Philiminated
#TeamRingGirls (Dessie & Kayla)
#TeamGoatYoga (April & Sarah)    Sharon N, Merrilee

#TeamSlamDunk (Cedric & Shawn)    Nickelpeed, Willie in NC
#TeamChomp (Joey & Tim)    David, Chrob61, tbc
#TeamWellStrung (Trevor & Chris)    Fred aka TwoBlackAces, Petals

Are we ready? Yep! Let's get this show ON!

Teams are heading to Zimbabwe. They are at a Wildlife and Rhino Conservatory. Each team must build their own tent. Cody gets his tent done first. Jessica wasn't really any help.

Phil wakes them all up before dawn. He tells them they will partner swap and we get a commercial. Since Cody's tent was first, he chooses to swap with the Ski Gals because they're the strongest. Ocean goes with IndyCar. Yale gets the twins. They split up within that.

Must take a raft out looking for canteens containing their next clue. From there they go to a ranger tower.

Detour: Rhino Track or Bushwhack. The rhinos horns have been removed already by the staff so poachers leave them alone. They must retrieve poaching clues or gather water. Neither Jess nor Kristi can drive a stick shift, so they can't do Bushwhack.

Cody and Jen are through the Detour first and are on their way to the Pit Stop.

They get to the Pit Stop first but Phil tells them they need to wait for their teammates. Alex and Brittany arrive next. Lucas and Conor arrive. The partner swap is over and the race is still on. They get their next clue.

The teams are heading to the capital of Zimbabwe.

Double U-Turn -- Indy U-Turned Yale, Ocean U-Turned Jody.

Delivering mail or delivering tires.

From there, it's onto: Must learn a song and perform a local dance. Kristi and Jen are in the lead. Because singing the song is so hard, both U-Turned teams caught up and all are trying the song. Ocean gets through it first.

Pit Stop:
1. Lucas and Brittany - won trip to St. Lucia
2. Kristi and Jen
3. Alex and Conor
4. Henry and Evan
5. Jessica and Cody
6. Eric and Daniel -- Philiminated

  2. Hi everybody! I wonder if this will be a non elimination leg with the team swap.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Man, I would LOVE to do that!! I'm jealous!!

    ReplyDelete
  4. Hi again to everyone. Having some problems with Google tonight so I cleared my cache and re-signed in...hopefully here to stay LOL

  5. Hi, everyone! I brought Pinot Grigio and brownies

    ReplyDelete
  6. Hey Squeegee penny and Glenn

    ReplyDelete
  7. Hi SqeeGee!!! LOL. If I cleared my cache, I would not remember my password. I'd have to ask for reset my pass word!!!

    ReplyDelete
  8. This will be ending just as BB comes on here....long night

    ReplyDelete
  9. Hi Tec..I can use a glass of wine or 5...haha

    ReplyDelete
  10. I have a program for that Penny. I just have to remember one password anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Glenn y'all get hammered with rain today too?

    ReplyDelete
  12. I want to see this part of Africa so badly. It's on my bucket list with Australia.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Suegee I have been having the same problem as well!Hi TBC!

    ReplyDelete
  14. Here you go, Cheryl! *clink*

    ReplyDelete
  15. I'm afraid if my computer ever zapped out, the password program would be gone.

    I want to be there!!!

    ReplyDelete
  16. I'm wondering if poachers got the rhino's horn or if the reserve took it off to save it.

    ReplyDelete
  17. When I was stationed at Patrick AFB in Florida, I belonged to a unit who did this. We had to put up the HUGE tents to live in and to have a chow hall.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Poachers have to kill them to get the horns. The reserve has drugs

    ReplyDelete
  19. We did get rain. How was your weather? It has been either cold or rainy here lately!

    ReplyDelete
  20. Still problems Glenn. Glad to know it is not my computer

    ReplyDelete
  21. So does 1 and 6 swap and so on? This is going to be interesting.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Same here Glenn..pretty warm today but the rain was bad

    ReplyDelete
  23. Glenn, we had snow this morning, then freezing rain all afternoon. Messy and not terribly safe for driving....

    ReplyDelete
  24. Penny I had to help put up our big Battalion aid Station tent when I was in the national Guard.. It was huge.

    ReplyDelete
  25. You're right Sue. I just realized what I said. Poachers always kill the animal.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Not just you SueGee, I have to refresh to get it to load quite often tonight.

    And Hi everyone. =)

    ReplyDelete
  27. It's not as easy as it looks on tv, huh Glenn. I used to dread going out in the field. Those tents are heavy!!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Well, they can’t eliminate one person from one team and another person from another team. How are they going to do this?

    ReplyDelete
  29. Jackie - are you feeling any better? News on your next tests??

    ReplyDelete
  30. I think the switch has to be just for a challenge

    ReplyDelete
  31. With my internet, it's terribly slow. Since we live in the middle of farm fields, we only have 2 choices. Satellite or DSL. Satellite is so expensive, so we have DSL with a slow speed of 3 mbps. Very slow.

    ReplyDelete
  32. That sound very frustrating Penny!

    ReplyDelete
  33. I never understand why people don't learn to drive a standard for these challenges.

    Cody looks very concerned.

    ReplyDelete
  34. LOL Penny. I am in the same boat except my top speed available is 1.5 mbps. DSL system is so overloaded they refuse to take new customers. If I ask about DSL for my address on CenturyLink site it tells me it is not available in my area. =/ Good thing I am grandfathered in.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I don’t understand how they don’t learn to drive stick before going on this show.

    ReplyDelete
  36. That is a true statement Penny! Hopefully this is a non elimination leg and they put the teams back together.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Surprised Jody and partners are doing different challenges

    ReplyDelete
  38. It is Judy. It also goes out at least once a week. I have to use a hot spot on my phone to do anything on my computer. Our phone company does offer higher mbps, but not in my area. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  39. Sue- this 3 hour bit tonight is not comfortable.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Cheryl, Jessica and I can't remember the woman's name, can't drive a stick shift.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I didn't realize this is a 2 hour episode.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Aww, Jackie, I’m sorry.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Catskills!!! Beautiful area. They used to have a huge zoo there - Catskill Game Farm - the owners closed it down because their children and grandchildren weren't interested in running the farm. It was sad. It was a large part of my childhood.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I don't know who to cheer for with them all mixed up like this. I wish I knew how this is supposed to play out.

    ReplyDelete
  45. "I'm going to have you walk through to make sure there aren't any crocs." LMAO. NO THANK YOU!

    ReplyDelete
  46. They have to walk in the water first? To make sure there are no crocs or deep holes. LOLOLOL

    ReplyDelete
  47. Blogger is so wonky I can only read what Jackie is saying from the comments page. No problems reading and leaving comments so far (knock on wood) I usually have two tabs open and switch back and forth

    ReplyDelete
  48. LOL, Joe, you thought the same thing I did.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I feel for you Jackie...so sorry they are dragging this out....

    ReplyDelete
  50. This would be so fun! I am so jealous. I want to be there!!!

    ReplyDelete
  51. Wow, if they don't know how many they need. good luck. Someone's going to miss one and end up in last.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Oh, dear god..pit stop already?!?!?

    ReplyDelete
  53. Come on Jen and other girl..lol

    ReplyDelete
  54. Now Jessica and Jen need to get done.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Ah - you are only as good as your partner's partner

    ReplyDelete
  56. These poor guys. That would be terrible.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Wow a couple teams stuck in the mud. thisis interesting that both swapped teams have to arrve to check in.

    ReplyDelete
  58. I wonder if it will end in a double philimination? or non-philimination?

    ReplyDelete
  59. I love that - that was less than enjoyable. LOL

Does any one know what happens if a team is last? Since there are 2 different teammates, how do they handle it. They get to leave last?

    ReplyDelete
  60. What if Jen and Jessica come in last? Do they eliminate both teams or is this a non elimination round?

    ReplyDelete
  61. Love this commercial - Oscar LaVista - Hahahahahaha

    ReplyDelete
  62. Oh my word.... having to wait for teammates has to really be stressful!

    ReplyDelete
  63. I thought Jesus would do better at this

    ReplyDelete
  64. Oh boy, they keep making it worse

    ReplyDelete
  65. My team lifeguards still tied for first. Jess and her partner need to solve the puzzle!

    ReplyDelete
  66. Well it's not an elimination, so it's a matter of getting a good head start.

    ReplyDelete
  67. I kind of like that they are forced to work together in the swapping

    ReplyDelete
  68. They have a lot to catching up to do.

    ReplyDelete
  69. I would love to stay at the refuge. Beautiful

    ReplyDelete
  70. Ha ha ha Cheryl. Jesus would not be struggling

    ReplyDelete
  71. Dang. They will not like this. UGH. I hate U-turns.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Two teams u turned. I hate that my team uturned jody.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Now, now, Jessica, you guys U-turned someone.

    ReplyDelete
  74. I am surprized that team extreame was not uturned.

    ReplyDelete
  75. I think the two other teams like the extreme women.

    ReplyDelete
  76. I just looked and it seems we have the same schedule next week, hour of BB then 2 hrs of TAR. Not sure what I want to see from the Olympics...

    ReplyDelete
  77. Wow.... both U turns were used!

    ReplyDelete
  78. Those stairs. I wouldn't be able to handle that. I could walk down them, but I'd never make it up. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  79. Jackie, thank you for hosting and posting. Feel better soon.

See you all next week for TAR. See you tomorrow for BB (I hope)

    ReplyDelete
  80. I would sound very funny on these. I have a strong NY accent, so me singing those words would sound hilarious.

    ReplyDelete
  81. That was nice of Indy. I hope Jody never stabs them in the back.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Could the two hours be because Survivor starts Feb 28. I don't think CBS would put TAR, BB, and Survivor one after the other on Wed. Although, that would be cool. They need to finish up before Survivor or on the same date.

    ReplyDelete
  83. I thought I read somewhere TAR was going to be done fast this time. BB and TAR could survive on the same day

    ReplyDelete
  84. I think I read where the TAR finale is on the same day as the Survivor premiere.

    ReplyDelete
  85. My team wins. they get their second Honeymoon trip.

    ReplyDelete
  86. It's a quicker tempo. They need to pick it up, or they'll go home.

    ReplyDelete
  87. I think CBS just wants to kill me with the schedules and live feeds.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Sorry Jackie - I sure hope you can get some relief soon!

    ReplyDelete
  89. Oh gosh, this is draaaaaaaging out. Wow.

    ReplyDelete
  90. I'm sorry, Jackie. I know this is hard for you. Maybe after this, you can get some much needed sleep.

    ReplyDelete
  91. It is time for BB to start here....live feeds in an hour or so

    ReplyDelete
  92. It's dangerous to run out in front of those cars. They do not stop.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Thank you, Jackie. Will see everyone next week. Have a good week.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Thanks Jackie =)

POP starts BB After Dark tonight also in case you didn't get enough BB.

The pool table and an indoor Jacuzzi is an interesting twist. The backyard also looked covered. Wonder if it is even the same BB House set.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Just now getting caught up- so next week's show is another 2 hours?? Better remember to correct my DVR!
