The Amazing Race 35: We're Finding Our Pot of Gold - Ep. 11 Blog Party

Yikes! Tonight is the penultimate episode of the season! Yeah, a fancy-schmancy way of saying that next week is the season finale.

I will be live-blogging and updating this post constantly as the show airs here on the East Coast. Refresh the page to get the latest updates. As always, the real blog party is in the comments. I hope to see you there!

Lifeguard SueGee has once again updated the blog pool and here's where we stand going into tonight's show:

Greg & John -- Brent McKee, Jackie, Judi Sweeney
Joel & Garrett -- ChicMc, Ethan, Willie J, Jasonuwp
Rob & Corey -- marthalight, PDX Granny, Sharon N
Steve & Anna Leigh -- David, Donna in FL, Glenn Allen

Are you ready? Let's GO!

Skipping through the Previously On segment and we see Ashlie and Todd Philiminated once again.

Teams are heading to Dublin, Ireland. They each get a phone and can book the trip through the Expedia app. Once in Ireland, they have to drive and then "take the plunge." All are on the same flight.

Okay, we're in Dublin. Home to U2, teams will take a dip in the chilly Irish Sea. The water is very cold. The cars are manual transmissions. Rob knows how to drive standard but points out it's on the opposite side. Greg mentions the same, claims it's not natural.

Already, Anana Leigh is at Steve about going the wrong way.

Rob/Corey get the clue first after the plunge -- drive to the "Gaiety (sp) Theatre" to get the next clue. The three teams are done with the plunge and Steve/Anna Leigh just got there. Steve is having problems in the cold water.

Greg/John got someone to Google directions. Steve is still having problems on land with Anna Leigh shouting at him. They are following Greg/John.

Roadblock - Who wants to get their steps in? Riverdance! Rob/Corey get to it first. Corey has to do it as he is due a Roadblock.

Uh-oh - Greg/John seem to be a bit off. Anna Leigh and Steve are no longer following them. Joel/Garrett just got to the Roadblock. Steve has to do the Roadblock. John/Greg finally arrive to the Roadblock.

Corey makes it through the Roadblock Riverdance first! Drive to Croke Park to receive your next clue at the top of the stadium. Now John finished Riverdance. Steve and Joel are having problems with the Riverdance. Steve made through. There! Joel made it through on his next try!

Roadblock - Who got the swing? Ancient game of hurling. Fastest field sport. Corey has to do it as he is still behind on Roadblocks. Greg/John arrive there. Corey finishes. Drive to Toner's Yard. Pub's literary scholars. Memorize and recite quotes from James Joyce.

Anna Leigh and Steve are lost again. Greg/John finish the hurling Roadblock. Now Joel/Garrett finished hurling as Anna Leigh and Steve arrive. Steve did the hurling in one try!

Rob and Corey finish the quotes at the pub and are on their way to the Pit Stop -- Saint Patrick's Cathedral.

Pit Stop Order
1. Rob/Corey - Won a trip for two to Fiji
2. Greg/John
3. Joel/Garrett
4. Steve/Anna Leigh - Philiminated

  2. Thank you, Jacke.

    Hi monty.

I feel so bad for Steve. I hope he doesn't have a heart attack.

  3. Hi again Julie and Monty, My team of Steve and Anna Leigh still in the Race.

  4. Hi again everyone.

  5. Steve and Anna Leigh are the ones I like the least due to the way she treats/talks to him. Grr. Love my blog pool team Greg and John. My not so secret favorites are Rob and Corey. Heck, I even like Garrett and Joel.

  6. My team of Ashlie and Todd went home last week boo-hoo. Been rooting for the Dad/Son team Rob & Corey. Been a great season!

  7. Hi to Glenn, Monty, Penny, Michelle and Jackie!

    Apologies if I missed someonee

  8. Hi Glenn, Michelle, and SueGee.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Oh, Jackie and all... I couldn't agree more about the way Anna Leigh talks to her dad. It just make her UGLY imo.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Hi again Michelle.
I hope Steve and Anna Leigh get it together and she is nicer to Steve.

  11. My father wouldn't put up with that treatment. But, then again, my father never learned to swim so ...

    ReplyDelete
  12. I would love to know what Anna Leigh thinks about her treatment of her Dad now that she’s gotten to watch herself on the show. I’m sure the feedback she’s been getting from people isn’t good.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Jackie, I would have never talked like that to my father no matter how much money was on the line.

    ReplyDelete
  14. And, it's not like Steve is a problem. He's doing his best.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Hi again,
Easy to like 3 of the 4 pairs... we all know which is #4. lol
Ok with any of the 3 winning, but cheering loudest for Rob/Corey. :)

    ReplyDelete
  16. In contrast, Corey treats his father with respect.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Monty and Jackie I agree. I would never have talked to my Parents like that.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Hey Sharon. Funny story, Sharon. We were talking about the car chargers last week (mine is a Halo Bolt) and I had to use it today for the first time. It hasn't been out of the box since last Christmas and jumped the battery in seconds. It's a wise investment for sure. Game changer!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Sorry Glenn but your Anna Leigh has to go.
I would never yell at my Dad like that. Like Monty said, no matter how much money was on the line.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Steve and Anna Leigh in Thrid but Steve having t Dance.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Monty - you can tell that Corey and Rob have a special bond.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I know I would never have yelled at my Dad either!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Monty!! Thank you for the info about your experience with the HALO Bolt!!
Glad it worked so well for you. I had heard varying stories about how long the Bolt would stay charged, so I set the calendar on my phone to check every couple of months.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Monty I have a combination Air Pump and Car Battery Charger and it also has places to use Plugs. My Dad gotit for me and I have used it several Times

    ReplyDelete
  25. Rob & Corey are my pool guys, but that doesn't matter to me. They would be my favorite anyway... just because of the bond and respect they show each other.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I love Irish dance. I've always wanted to do it. If I didn't have a bad foot, I'd do it. Riverdance is one of my favorites.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Sharon, it still had 50% power after eleven months.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Monty, WOW 50% is great! BTW, the HALO Bolt is what I bought for myself and daughters... this year's version. Does a little of everything. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  29. Steve is so close to passing.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Yes, Glenn. The Halo Bolt does all that too. I'd never used it since I received it as a Christmas gift last Christmas. My brother says he uses his all the time for the air compressor function. Happy to have it.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Monty and Sharon, what model of HALO bolt do you have? I keep a trickle charger on the pickup truck during the winter. It only keep the battery fully charged. No fancy accessories.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Ut Oh....they have started releasing the names for the Reindeer Games!! First up is Jackie's favorite (not) from last year.

    ReplyDelete
  33. That is a great function the Air Compressor Monty. The Stick game looks hard,

    ReplyDelete
  34. Michelle, mine is the Halo Bolt Ultimate. I'm sure my sister got it on QVC because that's where she always buys her out of town Christmas gifts, lol.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Last season of BB that is

    ReplyDelete
  36. Monty, I’ll look on Amazon.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Michelle, I bought the HALO Bolt Ultimate 2.0 ... it was the "Special Value" on QVC on November 25. If you go to QVC.com and type in Halo Bolt, it will come up.
There are 2 showing, but I got one that's $149.98 (but it was on special for less at the time). There are several really cool colors/patterns.
The other (in black) is less expensive, so I suspect it the older version.

    Back to TAR!!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Steve and Anna Leigh are lost again.

    ReplyDelete
  39. SueGee, you mean you won't be rooting for Cameron on the Reindeer Games? lol

    ReplyDelete
  40. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Heck, once the season is over, I don't care. I guess you're saying Cameron was my least favorite?

    ReplyDelete
  42. Thanks for the halo info. I see there’s a quick video on it that I can watch tomorrow.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Well, several were actually PITAs

    ReplyDelete
  44. On BB, Cameron creeped me out.
Off the show, he actually appears to be an ok guy.
    Which guy is real? lol

    ReplyDelete
  45. Yes Jackie and SueGee, LOL

    ReplyDelete
  46. Steve did the Task fast. Rob and Corey are Team Number 1.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I love these two. I'd love to see them win.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Next week is the finale?

    ReplyDelete
  49. YAY, Rob/Corey just might be the 'sleepers.' They've been #3 or #4 almost every episode.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Steve and Anna Leigh are always lost

    ReplyDelete
  51. I really like Steve, but I don't really like his daughter. I hate see the father last, but his daughter deserves last.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Does anyone know if Rob has been deaf all his life or did he have hearing a one time? My mom read lips, she could tell you a conversation someone was having across the room. Her eardrums broke from scarlet fever as a kid. One healed, one didn’t.

    ReplyDelete
  53. monty, I think she makes him so nervous.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Steve and Anna Leigh in last but Garrett looks lost.

    ReplyDelete
  55. My only win on TAR was the goat farmers in S21 and they never won a leg of the race until the final leg.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I'm not sure. Since he said ASL was his first language, it sounds like he's never been able to hear.

    ReplyDelete
  57. I haven't seen Rob speak much, so I would say he was born deaf. I worked at a Deaf School when I was in College and we had to learn to sign and watch endless movies about types of deafness. My Aunt had the same loss as your Mom Michele. She was able to hear a bit with hearing aids.

    ReplyDelete
  58. I like the wholesomeness of Corey, Greg and John ... they seem to be great kids.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Steve and Anna Leigh are Eliminated.

    ReplyDelete
  60. The mother of my best friend growing up lost her hearing as a child from Scarlet Fever also. She could hear some with hearing aids.

    ReplyDelete
  61. For those who read about my trip cancellation in Survivor blog, I am so glad I paid extra because I do get back all of our flight money. I am so thankful!!

    ReplyDelete
  62. It’s so inspiring when people with special abilities do BB, TAR, Survivor. I love learning about their journeys. Rob and Cory have made this a good season. They have a special bond.

    ReplyDelete
  63. That’s good news Penny

    ReplyDelete
  64. I agree Michelle. Most of them are firsts. I really like Matt and like Rob and Cory.

Thank you Jackie. I really appreciate it. Go Rob and Cory. Actually, any team left is fine.

    ReplyDelete
  65. I'm glad the three teams made it.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Aww, I do like the father/daughter dance at the end by Steve and Anna Leigh. Sorry for you blog team loss Glenn, but happy for all those left in the race and the pool.

See you all next week for the finale.

    Thanks Jackie! 💕

    ReplyDelete
  67. Thank you, Michelle. I'm just sad, though.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Penny I am glad you get your Money back.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Sue, next eeek preview - hot glass!!

    ReplyDelete
  70. Woohoo! The right three teams are in the finale! Thrilled! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
