Time to be Lost Soon

Yep, yep! We've gone through our withdrawal and shows are coming back left and right this month. I gave up actually blogging Lost (and Heroes) because they're both too nitpicky and confusing to write up as I watch. I'm also not as enamored with them as I once was. But that's not to say I won't be watching when they're on! I found this little tease preview of Lost for you. The season premiere is Wednesday, January 21 at 8 PM ET/PT.

Well I can't wait Jackie. I still love Lost... never got into Heros...everybody else in the family did, but I must have been watching something else.

At any rate, that was a good clip.. thanks for posting it for us. You find the best things.

I have to agree with you Jackie that both Lost and Heroes seemed a lot more exciting a season or so ago. I also of course keep watching not only because I'm curious, but also hopeful they will return to their original "can't wait until next week" story lines. I'm not sure exactly what's missing, but hopefully it will be back. Keep up the great work with your posts. We appreciate them!

Kids and I watched Season 4 of LOST during Christmas, so we are ready for it to start. Sure helped to watch it over 3 days versus week by week, followed by a long absence.

American Idol starts next week, not sure I will being watching from the beginning. Getting stale in my mind.

Ground here is covered with ice, yippee, not really! There was a big accident on I-80 west of here. Never know why some people never learn that when it is icy, it is better to stay home. Nothing like sliding on ice at 65mph or greater surrounded by tractor-trailers.

meb, we seem to like the same shows. I loved Lost, got hooked the first season and even though it drove me wild sometimes trying to follow the story line and figure out what was going on, I continue to watch. Wonder what is on opposite Heros. I think I watched once or twice and then no more.

Any one but me watching Leverage? I really like that one.

Delee, agree with you here too. I don't like seeing people who can't sing being displayed for ridicule. They have to be sick or delusional to think that they are good. I feel the show is exploiting these delusions. I also do not like seeing Simon being downright rude to the contestants. You can offer constructive criticism without resorting to humiliation. I don't like rudeness in anyone. JMHO.
The other talent show America's Got Talent might not be as much of an attention grabber, but perhaps this is because they are kind in their remarks.

becky--I watch Leverage and love it. I also watch Amer. Idol but not every week until they go to Hollywood. All new Law & Order shows beginning this week, too.

delee--after 3 weeks of snow, ice and freezing rain it has warmed up to 50. Now everything is melting and we have a "pineapple express" moving in. There have been avalanches in the mountains and flooding in the lowlands!! I need a vacation somewhere warm!

Just stopped by to let you know I haven't disappeared. I've been kicked in the butt by another virus just before New Year's Eve. I think it knocked me down harder because I was just recovering from influenza.

Looking forward to Lost is just what I need to get my spark back. I've been watching and taping reruns whenever they are on. I'm not so 'lost' anymore. Can't wait to find out how Ben made the island disappear. Thanks for the clip, Jackie. I'll watch it as soon as I finish this post.

Can't wait to read your take on The Bachelor.

I'm happy the shows on tonight are not repeats. The Mentalist looks like it should be a good one. NCIS and the hub are calling me now so be back soon.

Missed you all and hope everyone is well.

Ciao!

Becky & Delee...I'm actually trying to be optimistic about Idol this season. They made a lot of changes supposedly and they sound like they're for the better.

They claim that the audition eps will feature more talented singers and they're be doing a "worst of" ep at the end of auditions. Also, Hollywood round is supposed to be longer and I think I heard they're bringing back the wild card round where the viewers get to save an eliminated contestant.

I'm hoping they finally realized that the true viewers of this show like the talented singers and that we're over all the gimmicky stuff. Plus I'm intrigued to see how this works with 4 judges now.

Heroes has never lived up to the mark they set with the 1st season. Maybe it was cause it was new, or maybe cause the cast wasn't as huge and the storylines were more focused. Either way, it's lost something since the writers' strike. I still watch, hoping I'll love it again, but I don't feel the same anticipation for new eps that I did in Season 1.

Lost, on the other hand, has gotten better in my opinion. Once they had a definitive ending date, they got more focused and the plots stopped meandering so much. The flash forwards as opposed to the flash backs also drove the story better and by losing some characters the cast has felt more cohesive. It's one of the shows I'm most excited for in this new winter tv season.

I was never able to get into Lost - way too complicated for my simple mind, LOL. I didn't watch the first season of Heroes, but watched a marathon before season 2 started and was hooked. I found season 3 to be a big disappointment and pretty much stopped watching it all together. I hope they can somehow recapture the magic of the first 2 seasons - which IMO were awesome.

LOL, my brain is iced up!

becky... I also watch Leverage and love it. Timothy Hutton is so good and I love the rest of the cast even tho I don't know who they really are yet.

Did anyone else go over and start reading "Shuffle", the book that The Texas Woman is writing. I never noticed any comments from you. I really am enjoying her book. She has a great knack for writing.

You can get to it from my blog as it's one of the ones I follow. You'll see it on the list. If you do, leave a note saying meb sent you.

And again... no I don't get a kick back from her. I just really am enjoying her book. She's writing chapters each week or so and I think she's on Chapter 11.

OK.. gonna go read that chapter... talk later.

Meb...I didn't get a chance to start reading "Shuffle" yet, but I did follow your link and Favorite the blog.

I'm saving it for some slow work days when I have some time to kill in the afternoons :-)

I'll definitely let you know what I think when I get a chance to dive into it. Thanks for giving us the link.

If any of enjoy documentary films like I do....HBO has ANOTHER great one! Hats off to HBO, they really show some great documentaries on there!

It's called "Breacking the Huddle: Integration" and discusses the intergration of college football in the 60's/70's. Enjoyable for those who like football, and even those who don't!

HI Jackie! I have been out of town for a week, but did check in whenever I could to read, if not comment. I will have to catch up on allt he comments on this one though, but for now, just got in from the airport and am heading to bed. I totally concur about Heroes, and as I have mentioned before, I gave up on Lost far far earlier than you did.

Oddly, it seems from ads that Friday Night Lights is returning. Now if only they'd LEAVE IT ON THE SAME TIME SLOT it would maybe get a chance to roll.

RBennie said...

Welcome back Sydney - missed ya.

meb said...

Finally, Friday Night Lights is coming back on regular TV??? thanks for the heads up Sydney.

Glad you're back, you have a lot to catch up on.

Zoe-- I am so so sorry to hear you had been whalloped again! That has got to be so hard, especially during all the holidays, when often women triple their work and there is not much in return if we need someone to take care of us. Your immune system must have been beaten down and the next virus snuck in. I do hope that you are on the mend and will only get stronger from here on out. Can't imagine how it has been to try to work through all of this. And yet, you still sent graphics to Jackie and us! Amazing! Feel better!!!!!!

since we all like addictive games -here's a different one. http://www.bored.com/boomshine/index.htm It is mind numbing.

Have fun.

Thanks Margo, that was fun once I figured out how it worked, LOL. I made it through Level 12 and scored 241 points. I won't say how long it took, LOL.

Sydney said...

Meb I left you a comment to your comment on my blog. :-)

Margo, I just tried that game today. Still working to figure it all out, but it is a good one!

I'm definitely with you on how confusing Lost has become. It's made it so it's not even that fun (at least for me) to watch. I gave up on it last season.

Jackie,

I love your blog. You have some great tv-related posts as well as a bit of a personal touch. I stop by quite a bit and get a dose of tv news. I run http://tvontheweb.blogspot.com. My site is all about where to find the latest tv shows online, as well as finding shows before they're on tv--like my post about The United States of Tara.

Let me know if you want to exchange blogroll links. I don't know if you do this, but let me know if you're interested.
