Off Topic: Sad News for the Regulars

Participant on the blog for years and years, JonMD1267 last commented on Halloween day. We knew that's not like him. The problem with screen names here is that I often don't have a real name or address. I know his first name and that he lives in Maryland.

Thankfully, I remembered that he once donated to the blog on PayPal, which lists a real name, email and snail mail address. I sent an email, but never received a reply. Well, I just looked up his name and town and found this. I signed the guestbook. I think his sister would like to know how his online presence touched the lives of so many.

As an aside…I thought the MD stood for “doctor” not Maryland. I always thought of him as Dr. Jon. 😢 Dr. Celine (the PhD kind, not the MD kind).

It said he passed at home on the 3rd. I think he lived alone. He posted on the blog on Halloween, but never showed up for the next show on the 2nd. Sigh.

I know we all were very concerned because Jon rarely missed your Blog Jackie. Thank you for letting us know. God Bless his family through this difficult time. Jon now has an overseer view of BB, Survivor and Amazing Race. A big hug from me to all of you here who have spent years with me in all of Jackie’s great blogs. You all are appreciated and thank you Jackie for having these blogs where we all get time to share with each other. I’ve taken it for granted that you all will always be here too… more hugs…

It hurts when you lose one of your online community.

So very sorry to hear this. The loss hurts hearing of someone you feel you kinda know but never met as so many of us have been here for many many years. I always enjoyed his posts. Deepest condolences to his friends and family.

It’s how we feel about you too Jackie. You mean so much to us even if we don’t express it enough. I have so empathized with your health struggle with your foot the past year and months and always pray for complete healing and comfort for you. Thank you for always being here for us.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

no. Just no.

I'm glad you investigated, Jackie. Thank you for telling us. But damn. *smh*
So sad.

we've lost some loved ones from Jackie's over the years - it's difficult to believe.
Jackie - it goes to show what am impact you have, what a community you've built that we've never met "for real"(most of us, anyway), but we can all be so attached to one another.
I'm so sad today, but want to let you know JACKIE and ALL OF YOU that we are like a family.

Thank you Jackie for looking for him when we became concerned on Tuesday night. Petals, thank you for letting me know that Jackie had posted about John. Yes, I also felt like I knew him personally and that photo is just as I always pictured him. Jon with a big smile on his face and his signature "lol's". He always greeted me with that cheeky "Mmmmmooonntttyyy lol". I always figured it just started out as teasing me because I love to draw words out sometimes for effect, lol. I'll miss that greeting now going forward and his humor is already missed here at Jackie's. RIP and Godspeed friend!

Monty I am glad Petals was able to reach you to let you know about his passing right away.Ive been worried see you, because I felt like y'all were pretty close because of his greeting for you .lol. He looks like I always pictured him too, sitting around smiling. It doesn't seem real that we will never talk or more likely laugh with him again. He will always be in our hearts🫶Love ad prayers for the family

John's cousin has been in touch with me on Facebook. She says we knew the real John -- with his kindness and wit. She remembers him often saying to her he had to go jump in at the blog. Your comments and thoughts on his passing have touched the family. Thank you.

I posted a note to the family today. I found I needed some time to process it. You can take your online community and family for granted. I have been here too since Jackie’s AOL days. Since I’m on the West Coast, many people may not know me because I cannot often post to the party blogs because I’m still working or because I don’t want to know what happened on a live eviction night but I always read everything. I post on occasion over the years but I’ve always been here. I really loved Jon’s posts. He really will be sorely missed. I am still sad about this. I care about the people on this blog. You have become like an online family after all these years. When I post on my mobile it doesn’t show my chihuahua picture and comes up as anonymous but this is Dr._Celine. Love and hugs to all. I know we will all miss Jon.💕😘

Hi Monty (Homiee), Cheryl & Everyone. Sorry I've been MIA on the blog. I haven't been watching the shows for a while now. Yesterday I accidently clicked on Jackie's blog on my saved favorites list and Jackie's post about Jon popped up. I was sorry to hear this and wanted to leave my condolence.

I've missed you all!

Cheryl in NC said...

Ed,even though you are not watching the shows no more, you can always join at the party.Im sure everyone would love to see you.. Good to know you are doing well.Take care🫶

People do care here and I wish sometimes I could be more actively involved but the West Coast thing just puts a damper on things from the time difference. But I do come back and read things after the fact. Every now and then I do pop in for a live party even though the show isn’t on here yet. I have enjoyed coming to this blog for over 20 years now. Jackie is the best from the AOL days to today. Glad to see everyone here and read the comments. 😘 ~ Dr. Celine
