Survivor: David vs. Goliath - Blog Party! - October 3

I still might have some problems with tonight's live blogging as I get used to who's whom in the cast. I put up a cheat sheet with names and images at this link. But I won't really be able to access it while blogging and watching the show. For those who originally had Pat in the pool, that post has not been updated. You have someone new as listed below.

Here's the blog pool news from Lifeguard Laurie herself (she rocks!) --

Survivor fans ready?

Previously on ... Dan and Kara showmance and idol and the medical evacuation of poor Pat. Nineteen are left. Who will be voted out tonight?

The David tribe is wet and miserable ... and missing Pat's leadership skills. Goliath isn't doing too well with the horrible rain and wind either. On David, Christian is sort of liking Nick and Nick knew he was the target had Pat not had to leave the game. They're forming quite a bond. An alliance? Hmm. They're the Mason-Dixon Line alliance.

Whoa! Due to the unrelenting rain, David gets tree mail with a fire-making kit and tarp.

Over on Goliath, Dan thinks he's living the dream. His idol is right in his jacket. He thinks he can trust Kara and Natalia, the two who know about it. All of the others are noticing that Dan and Kara are a couple, despite it's so early in the game. Natalie (not to be confused with Natalia) gave Kara a heads-up. Natalia thinks she, Kara and one other girl have the guys wrapped around their finger. Meanwhile, Jeremy finds Dan's idol and tells Mike. So, now they're bonding.

On David, Davie thinks he's going to fill the role of provider. Instead of food, he finds an immunity idol!

Also on David, they're talking about possibly getting rid of Lyrsa first. It was Carl pushing the agenda. Elizabeth, her closest buddy, warns her. Supposedly, Carl thinks she's the weakest person. Lyrsa thinks she is NOT the weakest and now really wants Carl gone.

They're having fun on Goliath, frolicking in the ocean. But Natalie thinks they're all acting like they're in high school. John thinks it might behoove him to work with her as no one would suspect them. He warns her that she, as the oldest in the camp, is the first target. She's determined to drop some Natalie Napalm if needed. I don't think she's helping her case. Jeremy doesn't think so, either. He tries to talk to her. She's like a brick wall. Now he too wants to target her.

Time for the Immunity Challenge. Jeff tells Goliath that Pat was medically removed from the game and the storm was a cyclone.

One person from each tribe climb ladder, boat, puzzle pieces, wobbly table while solving block puzzle. The Reward is fishing gear with a first time ever actual fishing pole.

Goliath has a huge lead as Bi is having trouble building the ladder to climb. They catch up at the puzzle, but then start to screw that up. It's very hot and they've been out there for over an hour. Goliath wins Immunity and Reward!

David is down. Bi tries to tell them that they're going into these things with a negative mindset -- they're so small, the others are so big. It looks like many still want Lyrsa out. Elizabeth thinks they should get Carl out. Wait ... now she's thinking they should get Jessica out because she's close with both Carl and Bi. Gabby wants her buddy Christian to vote out Jessica. Christian and Nick (Mason-Dixon) ponder making a big move.

It was a dark and stormy Tribal Council ...
Not raining in the rather neat temple. I guess they just like to film storms.

Jeff goes for his Probsting questions, first about the storms. Lyrsa says she knows she's a target tonight. Jeff asks if they're reevaluating the formula for the vote. They indicate to Jeff that the vote is organized. Do they go with the needs of the tribe? Hmm.

Carl obviously votes Lyrsa. So does Davie.

The tally:
Lyrsa, Jessica, Lyrsa, Jessica, Lyrsa, Lyrsa, Jessica, Jessica, Jessica

Jessica is voted out! Davie and Carl are stunned.

Well, guy? People have gone through other backpacks before.

  19. Hi Everybody! Survivor Time

  20. I know today is Oct 3 and you can all wear pink if you want, but no mean girls are allowed. Monty will be in charge of escorting mean girls out of the pool and taking away your food and drink.

  41. Petals, are you talking about Jeremy? He's my pool boy!!

    ReplyDelete
  42. I'm not digging Natalie. Wasn't feeling her last week, and not again this week. I love a good villian, but Natalie isn't doing it for me....so far...

    ReplyDelete
  43. is that Jeremy, Monty? Young black guy with words of wisdom? I love him. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  44. Joe - in reference to you asking earlier ... I'm okay. Now I have a leg brace so falling shouldn't be such an issue. My cat doesn't like the leg brace. And life goes on.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I wish BB would go back to the food challenges. Everybody fights for food in Survivor and BB. :))

    ReplyDelete
  46. Jackie - a patient came in today with a similar apparatus on his arm! It looked very technical and had a dial & stuff. He dislocated his elbow and the device is "to re-introduce the bones/joints". It limits his mobility but also supports. Looked like your knee device.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Big lead, but the puzzle is usually the equalizer

    ReplyDelete
  48. My David tribe looks terrible!

    ReplyDelete
  49. Goliath is so arrogant.

Petals, I met someone a few weeks ago, who had the same arm contraption. It was so cool.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Yeah the puzzle can be a win killer. This one look particularly hard.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I hope David catches up. My pool person is a Goliath, but I like to see underdogs win.

    Shut up Jeff! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  52. This is grueling. The puzzle is hard enough, but to balance it is another layer.

    ReplyDelete
  53. So is that the longest/ hardest puzzle ever?

    ReplyDelete
  54. Oh man that was a tough one!

    ReplyDelete
  55. The hubs just said the purple hair girl needs to go.... I said that’s my pool pick... he said sorry, she needs to go lol

    ReplyDelete
  56. I like my pool pick she grew up here in Leawood KS and she lives in Chapel Hill NC, not far from where I grew up. So far, she hasn't said or did anything to make me feel any type of way about her yet...

    ReplyDelete
  57. really? Who Jenna?

I lived at Lion's Gate & worked at Parkway Plaza for years! We were prolly neighbors!

Speaking of neighbors, I read that Bag & Slag were going to be living at her parent's house
    in Lee's Summit, bwahhahaaha

    ReplyDelete
  59. I figured they'd live here. Bey is a princess and won't live in the hood with Swag...just sayin....I don't see it lasting.

    ReplyDelete
  60. I kind of like what little I've seen of my pool person so far -- Goliath's Jeremy.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Thanks Jenna. I didn't see about you falling Jackie. I am praying you heal quickly. Getting out Jess would not be smart.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Ok Jeff start doing your 'probing'

    ReplyDelete
  63. As usual, MY pool pick is chewing-up her own life raft, LOL

    Ed - or "Probesting"? hehehe

    ReplyDelete
  64. It will probably be a woman. Or are they aiming for a man?

    ReplyDelete
  65. My posts are not posting for some reason! If y’all don’t here from me, I’m still here🤗

    ReplyDelete
  66. Jackie - I will root for Jeremy when my chick is voted out! I like Nick, too (geek guy?) too!

    ReplyDelete
  67. Petals, I like it how she said she's keeping her mouth zipped, but only after her very vocal feelings.

    Unless they blindside Jessica.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Crayola-box hair is the Kiss of Death in reality television. Just sayin...

    ReplyDelete
  69. awwwwww, I liked her. Penny, that just saved her.

    ReplyDelete
  70. OMG!!! Isn't she stronger than some of the others? But, she does nothing.

    ReplyDelete
  71. I like Nick & Jeremy also..Wow BLINDSIDE! Petals you live another week!

    ReplyDelete
  72. That seems like a mistake voting out Jessica over Lyressa.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Wow!
See y’all next week, Jackie, sending extra prayers for healing!

    ReplyDelete
  74. Thank you so much Jackie. I hope the brace helps you.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Man that was over fast! Goodnight all. Thanks Jackie for all you do!

    ReplyDelete
  78. Wow crazy my first pool pick gets hurt and the second is throw out. Man I think this is my quickest exit. Good thing no money involed. Thanks again Jackie for all your hard work.

  79. from one of my fave people, Dalton Ross (BB & Survivor fan):
"Big Brother is super fun in a stupid, trashy, I-think-I-need-a-shower-and-a-lobotomy-after-watching-that kind of way, but Survivor is, like, a real show. There are no sassy wisecracking robots that come on the island just to insult the contestants, and the players do not appear to have every single line scripted for them in their confessional interviews. Big Brother is an intentionally cheesy, ridiculous show, while Survivor is actually one of the most impressive feats of television production in the wo"ld. And never shall the two meet! It was weird enough having former BB players Hayden and Caleb on Survivor, but my fear is that now because of Nick it is going to become a “thing” to have to give your Survivor alliance a wacky nickname. Dear future Survivor players: PLEASE DO NOT MAKE THIS A THING! Form an alliance, by all means. In fact, form as many alliances as you want. But do us a solid and skip the naming ceremony."

    ReplyDelete
  80. This early in all the reality shows I can't keep the players straight either. About halfway through it seems I can start to match up names with faces. Natalie is not being smart and will be booted soon. This early they are not looking to see who to take to the final - they are still trying to win rewards and challenges.
(wishing I was in the same time zone and could watch and post along with everyone else)

  81. Carol C - Jackie has a "cheat sheet" post for Survivor, with names, photos, and short descriptors, at http://jackiestvblog.blogspot.com/2018/09/survivor-david-vs-goliath-castaway.html

I keep it open in a different tab while the show is on.
