'Big Brother 8' - 9/09 Sunday Show Live-Blogged from the East Coast

Jackie's TV Blog, BB8, Big Brother 8

Due to the U.S. Open, the show is starting late here in the NYC area. But, finally, it's starting!

As it airs, this post will be frequently updated with the latest happenings. Please forgive any typos or misspellings as I tend to pay more attention to the TV than to my keyboard or monitor. Let's hope I keep my fingers over the right keys or orirr3dda!

I'd like to thank Isabelle -- a fellow TV Squad writer -- for letting us know the start of the show from Canada (where they started it on time) in the comments of my previous post!

Also, sigh ... I had to turn word verification back on -- got hit by a porn spambot.

We're into the recap and now Eric's getting evicted all over again. Now Jessica's getting evicted all over again. Deja vu all over again in spades no less! Thanks to Isabelle I know that this recap stuff is going to take up much too long a portion of tonight's show. What's up with that?

Dick is offering Jameka the fake deal for her vote to get her to the final three. This is all out of time sequence, it took place before Jessica's eviction. We're into the HOH between Dick, Daniele, and Eric from Thursday night before Eric was evicted.

Now Dick is nominating Eric all over again. To the Niagara Balls veto ... again. (Why did I bother watching the show last Thursday?) Amazing ... Zach won it for the second time, the dude has his balls all in a row, eh? Eric goes out the door again.

Now Jameka thinks she's on her own in the game. Dick is smug and is sure he and Daniele will be in the final three. Zach is feeling himself to be an outsider in their group. Daniele thinks it's funny that if they betray Zach they will have betrayed everyone. Zach sort of tires his own intimidation tactic with them -- you better not send me packing!

The houseguests found the Memory Wall full of new pictures. They know they'll be tied into the HOH comp somehow, so they must be studied. Daniele wants to win and is surprised how much she wants to win for both herself and her father. The comp is Mushroom Madness and they have to answer questions on the pictures (which were based on comps).

Yipes, the questions are a bit tough! Yeah, we can get the answers because they're showing us the pics as Dick asks the questions. Zach is in the lead by one right now with Jameka and Daniele on his tail. Whoops, Jameka got one wrong.

Zach and Daniele are tied. It's into a tiebreaker between Zach and Daniele. Daniele looks panicky, Zach subdued. Zach is the new HOH, Daniele hugs him. Dick thinks they're still safe because they've been working together with Zach.

Yeah, right.

Dick tells Daniele how proud he is of her. Daniele sulks, fusses, and is being petulant. Dick thinks that they're safe. He's only worried that Jameka might win POV, but not all that worried at all. Now you see why I summed up Daniele's post-HOH comp behavior in my feeds post with "This sucks." and "It sucks." The show made it more bearable, but that went on FOREVER.

Zach's HOH room party was a bit lackluster, but he's happy with his letter from home and the photos.

Evel Dick went to Zach pleading Daniele's case in the case of a Jameka POV win. Dick pushes for a Jameka nomination and voting her out. Zach tells him that he wants to be with him in the final two. Dick knows one Donato has to go on the block, but he doesn't want both of them up there.

Zach decides it's time to work with Jameka. He tells her he wants to put both of the Donatos on the block, she needs to play "her ass off" in the POV and then vote Daniele out.

Dniele still looks all mopey as she visits Zach in the HOH room. She asks him if he's going to put both her and her father up. She defends her father's gameplay. She tells him that they saved him in the game. (Why do I get the feeling that she's defending her father so much so Zach will save her, not him in the nominations?)

Zach doesn't tell her what he'll do but mumbles after she leaves ... "Nobody can beat your dad? Your dad's an idiot!"

She runs back to her father. Dick thinks he's stupid and decides he has to talk to him. He reminds Zach of the deal to the final three. (What about Dick's deal with Eric and Jessica?) Dick starts to get abrupt and intimidating.

It all hinges on the POV and it looks certain that Zach will nominate Daniele and Dick as he told Jameka. Dick and Daniele seem to feel he'll do that, too. And, of course, we know he will ... but it's time for a commercial!

Time for the nominations. It's a typical drawn-out long speech by Zach. On the feeds he said the DR told him to make it that way. He points out that Jameka restored his faith in God, which is huge to him. He pulls out Jameka's key. Dick tells him that it didn';t work for the first two HOHs and it won't work for them. Zach says he doesn't like Dick's tactics, but they work for him. He talks about Daniele's power in comps. "I'm the muscle and I'm going to muscle you out."

Jameka is sitting there looking dumbfounded and confused. Daniele is jumpy, Dick is getting into gear.

Dick is confident -- "If we win the POV, we win the game."

It's strategic and not personal when it's SOMEBODY ELSE!!!

I can't stand that immature little twit!

OMG!! My little head banging rocker guy actually thrashes to the beat of the music they play when the Donato's do something on the show!!! It's hilarious!!

Nothing but a rerun show.

Guess to Zach having a group is not an alliance....what a ****...has been saying past two days he has played alone...what crap!!!

Even if there was a long recap at the beginning of the show tonight, it was interesting to have those added tidbits and see DR sessions where they say why they did certain things.

Right now, I'm seeing Dani and Zach talking about the final 2 and whom he should put up. Of course, she trying to save both herself and Dick but Zach is not easily persuaded. Dani goes to her father to warn him she thinks he'll put both of them and they talk about Zach. In DR, Dick says Zach is stupid and couldn't put his underwear on without his mommy (or something like that). Dick reminds Zach of the "final three" deal they had. Even if we know the ending (both up on the block), it's really interesting to see how Dani and Dick tried to save themselves. Dick is being abrasive as usual.

It's over here in Canada. Dick and Dani were really angry at Zach's nominations. Dick behaved in his usual ED way!

Can one of the Donato fans explain something to me?

Why is it okay for them to vote out Jessica and Eric and break their alliance/bond/word/whatever, but it's NOT okay for Zach to nominate them and break his alliance/bond/word/whatever with them? They act like they can do anything they want and justify it as game play but nobody else can do it. I can't stand that attitude!!!

MY GOD!! That girl is such a brat!! If everyone doesn't do exactly what she says she hates them! She is definitely NOT my sweetheart!

Way to go ZACH!!! That's how ya stick up to a Donato!!

p.s. Am I the only one watching the show tonight? I feel like Zach...I'm talking to myself!

I'm reading your comments. I think the timing may have thrown things awry.

I really, really, really dislike Daniele! What a conniving little liar. She obviously has had a lot of experience lying, pouting, being self-centered and criticizing other people for things she's done herself. (Pot, meet kettle.) Sad thing is, those tactics have probably always been successful for her, and due largely to a father's love, they like will be again. Even though I strongly dislike the houseguests, I'm still addicted to Jackie's blog. Thanks Jackie. (I think.)

I don't care for any of these people and I don't want any of them to win, but I have to say, if I pick one, I am rooting for Zach. I can't believe I said that!

Anonymous said...

i sure hope zac isn't stupid enough to believe the double d's. he needs to put them both on the block. if pov is won and used by either of them at least there will be one of them on the block.

what nerve of dick to bully zac telling him he shouldn't break his word when dick did the same thing to eric. lied to him and got him tossed.- jeannemarie

Anonymous said...

How can ED be so cocky? Winning this POV only insures they go to the final 3!! There's still an HOH that decides the final 2. Is he forgetting that??

btw...I had to change my picture. After tonight's show, I'm totally in the Zach camp!

i still love danielle... i think she's adorable. whiny, yes, but what 20 year old girl isnt?? and ugh zach annoyed the crap out of me tonight... he used every excuse in the book to explain nominating the donatos.

Wow, that ceremony was entertaining on so many levels. Not so sure I've seen so much "banter" during a nomination. I count myself among those that can't believe that they want Zack in the final two!

If one of the D's come off the block, then it's that persons vote. Jameka goes up, Zach doesn't vote, so it comes down to the D not on the block. (So, chances are both D's will be safe)

GODDDDDDD, If I didnt respect Jackie so much, i would be cursin like a truck driver rite now...ok, so we know who wins POV and whos gonna go home BUT, if we only watched the show we wouldnt...anyway, Dani being such a BABY and saying o we wouldnt?? when Zack says you wouldnt take me to the final 2. They are sooo mean to him and it kills me!

why is the show still on at 9:30pm?

the only hope he has is to put double d on the block. -jeannemarie

YEAH WAY TO GO ZAC!!!

what jerks the d's are. i hope they realize one of them are going bye bye!

Meliss - Can you believe Daniele's answer when he said "neither of you will take me to the final 2 anyway". She said "who says we wouldn't" like he was supposed to believe her. Just because she said so. I think Zach has incredibly large balls to have been able to do what he did. You know he knows he's gonna hear it all week!!!

Danielle won POV so Jameka is goin up and she votes so bye Jameka :o(

Anonymous said...

jackie, am i understanding your earlier post before the show tonight that jameka is evicted? so the final three are dick, the daughter and zach?

Anonymous said...

did you catch the look on jameka's face! priceless...

zac cocky? has dan looked in the mirror lately?

Anonymous said...

ork, I hear ya....she is cute and all but a Bi&^h. I liked Dick for the longest time (hes kinda hot) but now, I dont respect him. Like you said earlier, he can break deals but god forbid someone else does.
UGH!

Jackie S. said...

Anon @ 9:30 - No one is evicted ... yet -- not until Tuesday. Here's where a few days time lapse between feeds and the show can get confusing. In real time, Daniele won the POV (which will be shown on Tuesday). She will remove herself or her father from the block, Jameka goes on the block. The remaining Donato will vote out Jameka. Thus, although she's not evicted yet, she surely will be on Tuesday and everyone in the house knows it.

All tonight's show proved is that Zack is an IDIOT!

1st of all, he doesn't get that his noms don't matter.

Then, he intentionally picks a fight with Dick BEFORE POV when that accomplishes nothing.

And he completely disses D/D, pretending like they never allied with him. In the end, they were most loyal to him. When the backstabbing started (which it always has to), they turned on E/J 1st.

I really didn't care who won at this point, I just wanted an amusing ending, but now I am actually rooting against Zack. What an IDIOT!

Anonymous said...

So, we know that baby D wins POV, takes herself off, puts up Jameka and will obviously vote her out.
Again I say WHOOPIE!
I really don't see any redeeming qualities in either Donato. If Zack doesn't succeed in winning HOH, then the finale is pointless.
And again I say, I hope Summer 2008 is better!

Orkmommy,

I am totally with you on Daniele, she turns my stomach; the little brat!! I can't stand her and I can see how horrible she has been to her dad and probably everyone around her.

I have a friend who is rooting for her to win and her dad second; we definitely don't agree. She doesn't watch the After Dark shows or read how really bratty and ugly person Daniele can be!

Oh well, just wanted to say that I truly think that girl is a BRAT WITH A SUPER BIG BBBBBBB
Janice/GA

Anonymous said...

But we already know Dani won the POV, so technically the DD's are keeping their word about bringing Zach to the final 3. Dani comes off the block, Jameka goes up. Dani is the only voter so its bye-bye Jameka. Funny thing is I don't think either D realizes that at the moment.

LOL Joe in NY, I was so broken up about having to let your original blogmance flourish, I got drunk, fell down and went boom. Being of sturdy stock (and no health insurance) I went to the drug store for acetaminophen, an ace bandage and ice pack. I figure I saved about $400, by not going for an Xray, after which they would have wrapped it or put it in a heavy cast and tell me to keep it iced and elevated.

And it's over. In more ways than one. Zach of course made his worst move in the game when he didn't use the POV and join with Eric and get Daniele out. To late now he learns the folly of his ways. I hate the final four. As with last season so many chances blown by stupid people. Daniele is POV champ but has done nothing else, her HOHs were just two more for Dick. Dick is the only one left who played had any game in this game. The final vote will come down to who the jury hates less. The lesser of two evils or evels.

You know when you think about this game people really shouldn't go in for the money. Half a million bucks is a lot but there are much easier game shows (power of 10) that you can make much more money on with far less hassle. I think future HGs should go in with the challenge as number one instead of the money. Three months is a long time to endure for the money.

Well, Steff, I'd be happy to do what I can to take your mind off of your wrist.

To Snickers,

I actually liked Janelle (I know some didn't) and I respected Will's game but didn't really like him personally. I also liked Chicken George. This season, I actually like Jameka though I don't think she has played the game at all and I liked Jess in the middle when she wasn't a pouty biotch.

I haven't been critical of everyone. I've actually defended Dick (not that I "like" him, but he amuses me at times).

But, really, there's rarely more than 3 or 4 likeable people in the house. And when there are "nice people", they suck at the game and bore me! (Like Zack, Mike, Kail, Nick, and Jameka this year - all nice, all boring! :)

Anonymous said...

I don't think Zach is an idiot at all. I think he did what he had to do in order to get where he is. Daniele acted like Zach should kiss Dick's a$$ because he kept him in the game. NO...Zach is there because they had bigger fish to fry. Dick told Zach he would have honored the final 3 alliance, so what!! He promised Eric/Jessica final 4...Dick even laughed about the two alliances at the top of the show. Zach was crapped on by ALL of the HG's the entire time he was there and now he's making his move. Whether it works out for him or not, he stood his ground and did what he thought was best for HIS game!

Anonymous said...

I forgot to say...

Why shouldn't Zach have put both of the Donato's up when he wanted to? Just to keep the wrath of Dick off of himself? Why should he do something he didn't believe in just because Dick would throw another tantrum...with Zach as the focus. He didn't want to put Jameka up. He wanted to put D & D up. He did, Dick got mad, so what! Grow up ED...GO ZACH!

Joe in NY said...

To Orkmommy,

But that's just it, ZACK DIDN'T DO ANYTHING to advance his cause. The POV winner had total control. All Zack did was tell Dick that if Zack won it, he wouldn't save the Donato's but protect Jameka.

If Zack had won POV and done that, it would be a good move. Tipping his hand just to piss D/D off did nothing but annoy D/D for no reason. Better, IMO, to play it closer to the vest and not tip your hand until you need to.

Anonymous said...

Zack was unlucky because his alliance got voted out early in the game. I do find it funny that he says he did it all himself (even though I'm rooting for him @ this point), because he did make an alliance at the very beginning, but I guess the game has progressed so far that he's forgotten that. His speech was a bit long and possibly redundant, but D&D's little remarks, while funny for viewers like me, were disrespectful. I would hate to be in Zack's shoes right now and I don't think I'd be sleeping much. I never really thought much of him until this last week, but he has done all he could to advance himself with the resources he had. I am annoyed by Danielle's comments that if not for her dad, Zack would be gone. Zack is still there because it was convenient for THEM, not because they had a word they wouldn't break or because they thought Zack had any game. Guess it all comes down to this last HOH.

~ Melissa

Anonymous said...

Zach did do something to further his cause. He won the HOH! Twice!! Daniele even told her dad that he needs to go. Had he not won, he would be the one leaving instead of Jameka! I don't believe in not doing/saying something just to keep a bully from attacking. My boyfriend's father is like that...nobody says anything because they don't want to pi$$ him off. I say what I want and I don't care...if he wants to have a fit, I say let him. Zach didn't want to put Jameka up, so he didn't. Dick got mad, too bad!

Anonymous said...

Oh...... I am so mad after watching the show tonight. Every time I start to like Dick, he begins his bully ways and does all he can to intimidate people. So far Zach is the only person who has stood up to that! Give him that much credit at least. Daniele has gotta go, she is such a brat! Money will do nothing to make her a better person. I was rooting for Dick, who I "hated" at the start, now I desperately want the final two to be Dick and Zach...... with Zach being the winner.

Joe in NY said...

Orkmommy,

But it would have worked in Zack's favor to let Dick think he was on their side. Dick would have focused all his attention on Jam before and during POV and ignored Zack.

All Zack did is show himself to be as self-centered and arrogant a jerk as Dani! "I did it all myself"! Nonsense. Zack was one of the first 4 to form an alliance in the ill-fated Mrs. Robinson alliance. Then when that fell apart he formed an alliance with Dick and Dani who worked with him for the rest of the game. In between, he sucked up to EVERY HOH, but he was always working with D/D.

Only this last week has he won anything. To pretend that he hasn't been aligned the whole time is as disrespectful of D/D as anything D/D said to him.

To pretend he wasn't workign with ED when he voted Dick's way every week is idiotic.

Sorry, Zack dropped to the bottom of the final 4 in my esteem. At least Jameka is nice - Zack can't even pretend that he's nice anymore.

And to criticize the way Dick played when he voted to save Dick, gave his vote to Dick on numerous times. ZACK PLAYED EXACTLY LIKE DICK - HE WAS AN ACCOMPLICE TO EVERYTHING D/D SINCE WEEK 4!

Anonymous said...

I thought I disliked D&d as much as I possibly could until tonight. I could have just smacked Daniele in the face. What a smug, arrogant twit she is! They act like they are God Almighty, the two of them. How dare anybody put them on the block? How dare Zach not bow down and admit their greatness and thank them for their getting him this far? Are they serious?? Everything is hunky dorey when THEY do it,but not when anybody else does?WTF?????

And you just know that the twit is being nice to them both(J&Z)for when they end up on the jury, she's kissing a$$ for their votes.

Regarding the underwear remark, good thing you don't wear any, dick, cause doubt you could get yours on either without help, probably with some underage chick you pick up for the night. And once again,I say to that fact,no undies,EEEEEWWWWWW!

I am so pulling for Zach to pull off a win in the first comp and then mow the D's down. I don't want the twit to win anything and I want dick to go down in flames!
GO ZACH GO ZACH GO ZACH

Joe in NY said...

Oops, my shouting should have read:

ZACK PLAYED EXACTLY LIKE DICK - HE WAS AN ACCOMPLICE TO EVERYTHING D/D DID SINCE WEEK 4!

No harm yelling again! :)

Deanna said...

Actually Zack was one of the first ones to turn on Mrs. Robinson alliance and tell others of its existence.... I think he went into the house with no intent to seriously allign with anyone, but to float from one alliance to the other and then kick it into gear when necessary. Kail came to him with the "MRA" and he seemed a bit off put by it, but did agree. I think he had a good strategy. I think Jameka had NO strategy and I think Dick & Daniele blew through the house with two different strategies that had eachothers back s and worked in eachothers favor.

Hands down, the Donatos played the best game. I think they played as good of a game as Will, just a lil louder & more in your face with it. I don't think either of them went into the house looking for friendships or romance(even though Dani found it), but with the intent to make alliances when needed and enemies when needed. IMO, that is the way to play this game. I honestly think Amber came into the house looking for a romance and even commented that her and Nick had sparks between them(episode 1), but when his attention went to Dani, she then spoke of her love for her boyfriend. It is okay to form friendships and such in the BB house, but you shouldn't enter that house with the intent to or it will/might ruin your game...

My word verification is: brutdda

Sounds like "Brother"... lol! I try to make words out of them and thought this one was too funny!!

Yes, Zach won 2 HOHs, but he totally wasted both of them. With the first, he could have gotten rid of one of the Donatos. I'm glad he didn't! Now with the second, he failed to realize that the POV was the real power at this point. Winning the HOH is only half the battle. Using it in the most beneficial way to get himself ahead in the game was his weak point. He's not played the game well and I agree with Joe, Zach IS an idiot!

Anonymous said...

First of all, the HOH competition was called PICTURE THIS not Mushroom Madness. And I agree with the poster who asked why D & D can lie to anybody/everybody they want, yet, when Zach tells them the truth, they get mad. @@ And like Zach said: well, if one of you does win POV (which we now know one of them did) then I haven't broken the alliance.

Deanna said...

I agree with you too Joe in NY!!! :) As always, your points are right on and very well spoken. Not surprised that you have written a book... Just a bit jealous... :)

Anonymous said...

Because Zach didn't play the game YOU wanted him to play, he's an idiot? I don't think he's an idiot at all. I think he's standing his ground and playing the way HE wants to play regardless of how Dick or Daniele wants him to play. I agree with Deanna in how Zach played his game. He did stay under the radar. His name came up a few times for nominations, but there was always someone else they'd rather get rid of. Zach "deserves" to be there as much as Dick or Daniele. They all played the game, they just played differently.

I think everyone who so adamently dislikes Daniele for her whining, selfishness, etc. should remember she just turned 21. Even kids from functional families are just like her at that age. I know my daughter (not my son though) was that way until she was married at 24. She was still somewhat of a princess until she had a baby and now she denies ever being that selfish brat. The majority of her friends are that way too but they grew up eventually. Dani is a smart girl; I believe she will grow out of this too. She told Jameka that a goal is to become a 2nd grade teacher. It will be hard not to grow up if you have a class of 7 year olds. Nobody can deny that she was able to win the most combined hohs and povs of anyone. She played the game. She didn't shy away from the competitions nor throw any of them. Sure, she had her dad do some dirty work for her, but that was his way and had no trouble doing it. (Wouldn't your father do that for you). Eric did it for Jess. She always had Eric talk to others when she wanted info and assurances.
This is a game. The Donato's studied it; they decided what will work for them. They seem to know everything that has gone on in previous seasons and have been able to apply it to their game. True, most people aren't as crude and vulgar as ED but if that is what works for him then you can criticize his behavior but that shouldn't negate his dominance in the game.
For the lady who assumed that Dick spent his life as an alcoholic, on drugs, etc.. unless you know something we don't then you seem to be presuming an awful lot. He is way too smart to be a product of drugs. His mind isn't fried like Amber's where she readily admits she can't remember words and who knows what due to drugs. In fact, I just can't imagine a clean freak that he is (constantly washing hands, and cleaning kitchen and laundry) as a druggie. I picture him as more neurotic than anything else. We also don't know how much is acting for the camera either. Why be an ordinary 43 year old man? Those younger kids would vote him off in a minute. Be sensational even if you are a jerk. At least people will be talking about you which is certainly the case. He and Dani even wondered how many "I hate Dick" groups were out there.
I think they were the only two who played the game. They deserve to go all the way. Go Donatos!

Anonymous said...

Deanna - I really want to like Dick, but I can't get past his nasty ways. So yes, I am rooting for Zach at this point. I'd really like to see Zach & Dick go to the final. I'm really pulling for Zach to take this final HOH because I think he'd take Dick with him. Zach really doesn't like Daniele. I think he sees right through her, even it looked like he was playing into her hands.

Zach was using Dick/Dani as much as they were using him for a vote. Now he knows he can't use them anymore so he's being honest. He's really come up several points in my book. I still wish he had used that POV on Thursday, but we all make mistakes...

Anonymous said...

The D&Ds only played a good game because they came together...even when Danielle didn't think they would. They stuck together only because it was family. I truely do not believe they would still be together today if they weren't related. I ONLY give Dick credit for that. I just know he will give it all to Danielle in the end where a different payer would make her work for it.
She is a competitive, but not the best.
I HOPE FOR ZACH IN THE END.

Anonymous said...

So, let's look at who the jury might possibly vote for in the end? Dustin, Jen, Amber, Jessica,
Eric, Jameka. And what arguments would Zach, Dick and Danielle use? Zach--not a Donato, Danielle, comp queen, Dick--deal maker.

Any thoughts?

This conversation is interesting tonight, and I'm siding with Joe in ny.

Zach actually did do something stupid, as it turns out. He didn't know it at the time, but he did. When its down to final four, why in the world would you break a deal with two strong players still in the game (two players you have a deal with)? Did Zach actually pin his hopes on himself only, or did he pin his hopes on Jameka? He's a numbers guy and should have realized it was dumb.

Zameka isn't good at comps so he was betting on the HOPE that he would win the POV. If he had been SMART, he would have thought...... duh..... I have a 33% chance of winning this POV. Me and two Donato's. NO, he got overly confident and was convinced it was 50/50 (me and Jam against the dreaded Donatos). DUMB, DUMB, DUMB.

The worst thing happened for him when Danielle won the POV. Now he has two enemies in the final three with him. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm? Who's the bunny now, Zach?

I don't think Dick was cocky at all. I think he and Danielle are the ONLY ones really playing this game and will probably go to final 2.

Rock on, Evel Dick (and your whiney daughter too)!!! This season has moved to the top of my fav BB seasons. True game playing, and I love it!

I really need to find that sound bite clip. I want to use it for my email notification at work.

Orkmommy - if you could do a morph-o-matic combination of your Shrek and Beeker avatars, that would look exactly like Zach

Go Zach, you big dork, I'm still rooting for you!

In a conversation between Zach and Jameka that I read on Jokers, he told her that he's an online chess champion (but, shh, it's a secret) and that his job is almost, close to graphic design but something more. She'll find out at the finale. Apparently that's also a big secret. Wonder what he's talking about (although I often wonder what he's talking about.) I keep hoping for something juicy, like he's Julie Chen's love child from a pre-Les Moonves affair with Maury Povich.

Darn, word verification is back. Thanks for trying, Jackie! Porn spambots suck! (Er, that didn't come out right.)

Orkmommy - just thinking, if you could please throw Jimmy Stewart in the morph-o-matic with Shrek and Beeker, I think that would make a better Zach.

And maybe the giant rabbit "Harvey." Zach was pretty cute in that bunny suit, LOL.

Tonight's show really enhanced what we already knew happened from hearing from Jackie and others.
I think it's interesting/weird how divided the feelings are about Zach after watching him on the show. The show tonight turned me totally off Zach. I think I dislike arrogance more than any of the other vices related to the seven deadly sins.
I saw Zach as arrogant.
It was quite a surprise, and quite a turn-off.

I can't believe nobody (at least none that I saw) commented about Daniele's cocky "He ACTUALLY Thinks he could win this game?" comment. I have no idea if Zack could win, but her comment was soo gosh darn cocky it almost makes me want him to win! It was as if she thinks she is the only person worthy of winning.

Also, about the "nobody can beat my dad" comment Dani made to Zack...Does she honestly believe that, or was she subtly throwing Dick under the bus trying to get Zack to vote him out instead??! opinions?

I'm not saying Zach is an idiot because he didn't play the game I wanted him to play. He's an idiot because he made tactical errors that could have gotten rid of at least one of the Donatos and put himself in a more comfortable place in the F3. The fact that he didn't play his opportunities to his better advantage brought D&D into the position they're now in, which I'm happy about

Dick played throughout the game, always looking ahead and most of the time, using his opportunities to his and Dani's advantage.

It just seems too little, too late for Zach. He should have thought more than just one step ahead.

I was a little surprised at the editing tonight. BB showed Daniele is all her pouty 16 year old huffiness, and let Dick shine through, too. They played up the smiling confident Daniele in the DR and offset that visual with footage of the door slammer who stomps off to sulk alone.

The DR confidences of both Ds about having won it all, sounded just like Survivor quotes from the next contestant to get voted off the island. The Survivor editors are working with something that already happened and they know the outcome, so it is different. But gloating before the win is just dangerous.

When Zach sent Eric home instead of a D, I (and other posters)groaned and wondered what Z was thinking to blunder so. But, I forget Zach doesn't know what we know. He knew Eric was shady and appeared to be in with Dick. Zach must have been planning what he would do, if ever in power, from early in the game. And Eric was the one he marked to go. I see Eric as an impotent little twirp who was no match for Zach's play. But I can understand why Zach felt he was a threat. I think Zach has gloated too soon, too, and should have kept his secret self underwraps a tad longer.

Jameka is trying to find out all she can about who did what so she will know who for vote for. The D's are very happy to fill her in on who they sent home along the way and tell her their secrets, since they already know she is gone. I think they think she is innocently curious. She also doesn't know she can't tell the jury house what she knows. Imagine her going in there and telling them the comments the Ds are making about each and every one who left.

They should save their crowing for the wrap party. Just to be on the safe side.

It is kind of funny to see how Zach's words go unheard. Remember how fond people were of Will when he would tell people the truth and they just ignored it. Zach has been saying, 2nd place will be fine with him. I'm thinking he would like to win, (no matter what he says..competitive spirit and taking down the Ds for 2 reasons) but he has said it for a long time. He said last night he wants to get name recognition for the Dolphin project and being on TV and wearing the shirt is doing that. So, he has accomplished his goal, no matter when he goes home. In addition he says he used the time in the house to get his priorities straight in his head about other things. So, not time wasted, no matter when he goes home.

He is letting his emotions come into the play, much too soon and has screwed himself over, but I think he has completed the task he set himself when he was recruited to be on the show.

Did anyone else hear him insulting Dick about not having to try numerous times to get on the show? And getting to F3 wihout having watched every season and memorized past hgs bios? They all stomped off in that one, I think. Sue

I fully understand that the evicted house guests who are on the Jury and sequestered are not supposed to talk about the game amongst themselves.
I think it would be great if CBS/BB could throw in another twist so that this year there could be Jury deliberations! LOL

Regardless of who the final 2 are it could make for some interesting TV... better than the rehashing old stuff that we have seen before.

Deanna said...

Yes Dick played better with Daniele by his side and who knows how far either would have gone in the house alone. Can't we also say this about everyone who plays the game? How far would Amber have gone without Jameka or Dustin and how far would Eric or Jess have gone with out eachother? We cannot discredit someones(Dick)game play merely by the fact that his daughter helped his game. Each HG aligns with someone in the house in hopes of furthering their game and sometimes those alliances last to the bitter end of their stay. For anyone to claim that D&D had an advantage due to the fact that they are related isn't realizing that they actually had a disadvantage due to their relations. Each HG knew they were related, knew that blood would be thicker than water(and many commented on it)and still they didn't get rid of them ASAP. If I was in the BB house, I would target the ones who appeared close and broke those up. I would have gone for D&D first and followed up with Jess & Eric. IMO, D&D did exceptionally well and played one of the best games possible in BB history. I agree with poster who said this season is at the top of the seasons, due to D&D's game play...

GO DONATOS!!!! Take it F2!!!

Deanna: Ditto!

I can't believe that none of the houseguests realized that the only thing that really mattered this week was the POV. Why all the fuss about who was nominated - it didn't matter. Zach should have nominated Jameka and one of the Donatos. He could have let the D's think he was staying true and could have pulled Jameka aside and let her know if he (or she) won the veto they would send a Donato home. As it turned out he pissed off Dick and Danielle for no reason. Dick made it clear to Zach that he felt Jameka had to go because she would win the jury votes. So if Zach had waited and been able to win the POV he could have explained then that since he knew Dick or Danielle would only take each other to the finals, that by evicting one of them and keeping Jameka he would get himself a place in the final two if they won POV because they would more likely vote out Jameka instead of him. Of course by tipping his hand too early he has just made enemies of them for the next week. In truth I don't think he has much chance of winning as he would need to win the next two out of three competitions.

With regard to the Donatos -I think they are totally in denial about that fact that when they are in control it's all "just a game and strategy" but when someone else is then it's personal and it sucks and it's not fair and they are can't handle it. I don't like their game play but still they played the best game and deserve to win.

Is it just me or did anyone feel bad for Zach when he talked about his first month in the house - how he always ate dinner alone and no one talked to him. I remember on one of the earlier shows they had a segment where everyone talked about how awful and boring Zach was. A group in the teacup all got out when Zach joined them and I think it was Danielle who said like she would rather do something horrible for an hour than have to talk to Zach for 5 minutes. And now they have the nerve to be upset that Zach is thinking of himself? What have they been doing since day one?

I still like Zach and can't believe the double Ds are still together. I am so upset that the ones I was rooting for didn't get one of them out of there earlier! If Eric hadn't been listening to America,it would have happened. He was a good guy to try to do what we asked even though he didn't always agree. I know he won money for that but it still messed up the game from what we all wanted (at least me!) I wanted a D or D gone!!!

Donna,
Yes , I felt bad for Zach! I agree with you.

I haven't watched the show yet but I feel the need to put in my two cents worth anyway.

I believe that when Zach didn't use the POV to save Eric it was in part because Eric didn't use the POV to save hime the week before. Not only that if he had saved Eric and Eric had stayed, he would have quickly aligned with Jam. Then, it would have been Z vs. Eric and Jameka instead of Z vs. D + D. Either way he's on his own. At least with Dick and Dani he stood a chance of making it to the final four. He knew that Eric was off but again like everyone else couldn't put his finger on what. I also must stress that he didn't know he was going to win the last HOH so he decided to go with he devil (D + D) he knew as oppposed to the devil he didn't know.

As to putting both D + D on the block this week. It's classic psychological warfare. Dani was already down about losing HOH so he just dug the knife in a little deeper I think in an effort to throw off their game. Look how upset the two of them got. He was tryign to push their buttons and he did but not enough, he learned that from Dick himself. That's game play.
The second reason he put D + D on the block was to score jury votes. He probably doesn't realize that Jameka can't discuss what's happened with the others. Besides she'll probably get the chance to talk to them if she really wants too. They can't watch all of them 24/7. They couldn't even keep the ones from season 6 in the house. They snuck out to a bar and were photographed. At any rate, even if Jameka can't talk to the others, he'll at least get her vote. Jam, plus Jen, and Dustin equals three votes for Z. Amber I don't know. Eric and Jess probably one of the Donatos.

Although the dastardly duo think they'll win, I think they've underestimated how much they are disliked by the other HG's. I think they are very disliked by the other HG's. And the other Hg's can vote however they want. They don't have to vote for who has the best game, they can vote for personal reasons and they just might esp. if Dick is in the final two.

Wouldn't it be great if Z was in the final 2 and won by a unanimous vote?

People! Are you crazy? Why would Zach get rid of the Double D's? The jury losers hate them! They would all vote for Eric, Jessica or Jameka instead of him. You hate them...the jury hates them. Why should he get rid of them? If he can't beat one of them in tghe last challenge - he does not deserve to be in the final 2.

LOL Joe in NY, OOXX...in response to your 10:19 post...chill baby, it's just a game, we don't know these...lQQking for the right word...people, no...creaton's! I agree, you get more bees with honey than you do with vinegar. Zach's attitude just showed he learned well from ED. He stayed under the radar till the numbers came down, then put what he learned to work for him. Cudos for that. I was on the go Zach bus early on, felt sorry for the miss fit. Alas he was sooooo cute in the bunny suit. Now that it's down to F3...Gooooo Dick. jmho

going to read the rest of the story...

ok, I've gotten rid of the company and finally got the Rest of the Story (another Harvey reference...Paul Harvey, for you youngin's)

As usual, Joe in NY, I agree with 99% of your thoughts of Zach being an IDIOT!!!
He spent two months flying under the radar, only to show his cards prematurely. To keep winning you have to know when to muck your cards. Run silent run deep...lol. I'm ranting, sorry.
Sleep well my pretties.

Joe in NY, I don't see why you think Zach is the idiot in this situation. If the nominations didn't matter, then why was Dick up in arms about being on the block with his "precious" daughter? Dick is the idiot who should have just let it go instead of getting up in Zach's face about being nominated since he knew full well that the POV was what counted this week.

Made me sick to watch Daniele say her dad was the best player. Oh and how she looked at Zach when he was explaining how he came to his decision. Yuckkkkkkk!!!

still want danielle or ED to win. they played the game the best! doesn't mean i like them as people or would want anything to do with them. but they did make the show worth watching. i couldn't care less about any of the other people on the show. just glad that the IDIOT amber is gone. is there anyone on the planet who is more stupid??

Anonymous said...

Neither one of the D's are satisfied with winning or losing...what a sorry ass couple they are. I am so sick of hearing him & her, they need to lose to anybody & I agree with the blogger who said that at the end, if they are both on the block (I can't see this happening) the panel should refuse to vote for either one of them! I would love to hear what they think of themselves when they see the recaps of the shows! For normal people it would be a mind opener, but I doubt it will do them any good.
I agree that they spend too much time rehashing the previous show & have very little of anything "new" on it. The show also runs only 55min or less, so we are getting a whole less content then we used to, besides missing seeing the Sequestor shorts at the end.
Out of the three, I find that I have to go with Jameka as the winner as disturbing as that seems to me. But actualy, she just about does diserve it just for the fact that she fought back to Evil so wonderfully a few times...She was way better than even Jen at getting back to him.
No matter how bad this Brothers inmates have been this year, it still is a good show, but it sure has been screwed up this year.
