Fall 2008 Dancing With the Stars Discussion

It's that time again! Although I'll peek at the show now and again, I don't faithfully watch it each week. But I know a lot of you do. So here's your place to discuss the new season. The official website for the show is located right here.

A second discussion post is up as the comments here are hard to wade through. Please head on over to the new post!

anne--I'm sorry I missed you in the nudge list....Survivor virgin, huh,...how about a welcome to the group hug(((anne)))!
Who knows maybe we'll be on the same team. :-)

Thanks, Jackie for the DWTS blog site.

Lucy said...

Thank you Jackie.

Tom`S said...

I will perhaps view tonights epi, although ABC tends to " milk " DWTS - generally dragging each show unto a longer time span.

Jackie,
I chuckled to myself after reading " dancing list, I rewrote some of what was written back on Aug 31, Of course ABC has another soap vet, probably not a bad idea, but hmmm sure hope Susan Lucci doesn't lose anymore weight.

Susan Lucci (Erica, ALL MY CHILDREN) is one of the celebrities to compete on this seasons' DANCING WITH THE STARS. She'll be paired with Tony Dovolani. Lucci joins Kim Kardashian, singer Toni Braxton, former WILD ON and ROCK STAR host Brooke Burke, track star Maurice Greene, celebrity chef Rocco Dispirito, Emmy winner Cloris Leachman, ex-N' Syncer Lance Bass, Cody Linley (HANNAH MONTANA), Superbowl Champion Warren Sapp, comedian Jeffrey Ross, former MARRIED WITH CHILDREN star Ted McGinley and Olympic Beach Volleyball gold medal winner Misty May-Treanor. The new season begins Sept. 22 on ABC.

I liked Helio & Julian.. Aww who didn't enjoy watching the two.

Thanks Jackie

I am behind on prison break.

Delee said...

Jeff Ross got his eye poked by his partner, hence the eye patch. LOL I was just typing that out....saw it at TMZ

meb said...

Edyta, from what I saw in the intro's has gone back to her naakkeedness!

Low scores to begin with, which I think is good... that way they have room to improve.

Hope Julianne's partner gets a little better.

tom s... get caught up on Prison Break, there are a few of us that discuss it on Jackie's regular blog.

Jackie S. said...

Should I make a discussion post for Prison Break? I don't watch it. But if you want a post to discuss it, I'll get one up tomorrow.

Tessa said...

I love Derrick. He makes this look fun.

Anonymous said...

Cloris is 80! Amazing. She won't last long, but she looks terrific for her age. I don't know many who could still move that well at that age. And she is F-U-N-N-Y!!

monty924 said...

Cloris will be the comic relief of the season if she makes it past the first week. I was rolling in the floor... literally!

Anonymous said...

meb said... Edyta, from what I saw in the intro's has gone back to her naakkeedness!

Did she EVER wear enough clothes to cover her body? Her Royal Nakedness.

I was surprised at how skimpy Julianne's dress was. Bless her heart, she has a dud this year unless he improves -- a lot!

Derrick is wonderful.

monty924 said...

Derrick also has a wonderful partner. Brook will go far into this.... we could be looking at the winner!

Sydney said...

What do you think of Edyta's (sp?) partner? I think he may be a dud too. Seems they have to rotate the dance teachers so no one clamors that some get favored. They all want extended TV time for their own careers... so if last year you were out early, you bet this year they want producers to pair them with someone who will take them along til at least mid show!

meb said...

Jackie... I love Prison Break, so would love a place to chat, but I think there's only about 5 of us who have said they watch. Is it easy to do?

Cloris was hysterical. Don't think they'll let her get away with using up all that time again but it was worth it. Did you notice how she swore every time they gave a score. Too funny!

Guess Edyta will be out. She and her partner got three 4's. Good. I don't like watching her and he was terrible.

Julianne did dress a little too skimpy... she would have been alright if it had hugged her better, but there was one turn that she did so fast it opened up and you could see more than I signed up for. LOL

meb said...

Oh... and Lacy from So You Think You Can Dance is one of the pro's this year. She and her In Sinc partner (name???) really did great. Well, Len didn't like it but he wants the old school and Lacy isn't really ballroom, so she'll be winging it all the way. Like her tho. Her brother is Benji... for those who don't remember.

Delee said...

Lance Bass from N Sync, he was supposed to go up with the Russians to the Space Station a few years back but had trouble finding $20 million. Justin Timberlake-Joey Fatone and JC Chasez made up the group.

Susan Lucci is 62, no spring chick either.

monty924 said...

Glad Max is BACK! I thought she looked wonderful and the first to smile a lot and play to the audience. Another good couple. Poor Kim coming up... she usually gets rooked with her partners. :(

Jerry Springer

monty924 said...

I take that back. They had fun and he looked good. :)

Delee said...

For his size Warren Sapp is really good....surprised me!

monty924 said...

Okay, early favorites anyone?

Mine are:

Brooke
Toni
Misty
Lance, and yes...
Warren

This should be a fun season!

Off Topic

I posted the link to the new BB interviews with ED and Brian, Jessie, Jerry and Angie on the ED interviews thread. They are up on youtube now.

Tom`S said...

Prison break was great, I tuned in to watch Susan L. she was hmm Alright.

Jackie Prison Break is a wonderful show, great acting.

Off Topic real quick on Prison Break- Wow Gretchen escaped, I'd like for her and Alex to team-up,

PDX Granny said...

OK, I'm just starting to watch now, and I must say I'm pleasantly surprised. Karina didn't stand there and make faces at the judges comments & scores. I know she's a good dancer, but it's always really bothered me when watching her reactions. . . . kinda like a bad sport that can't take criticism.

Off topic: I just heard a commercial where they were singing "When I grow up I want to be an old woman". Now I'm going to have to google it!!

Sydney said...

Susan Lucci did look frail and what was with her keeping her hands on her hips the whole time? She is a beautiful woman and has looked youthful for decades but tonight she finally looked too stretched and shiny for my tastes.

I liked Kim Kardashian's personality a lot more than I thought I would.

Cloris was RIOT. That's who I wanna be when I grow up.

PDX Granny - that's funny, I was thinking the opposite if I understand you correctly, I thought Karina still had her usual puss face at the comments.

Lucy -- Nice to see you!

PDX Granny said...

Did anyone catch what Toni Braxton said she was recently diagnosed with?

PDX Granny said...

Sydney, at least this time she was laughing and joking around a bit. . . . maybe it's the pain meds. LOL

PDX Granny said...

Oh, Len! You're such an old fuddy duddy!!

He even admitted that what Lance & Lacy did, they did good. So why in the world would he count them down just because he's too old to appreciate the music??

PDX Granny said...

Hello!! Anyone out there???

Am I all alone here?

Anonymous said...

Meb: Benji and Lacy are first cousins. Both were taught to dance and trained by Benji's mom and dad.

Cloris was funny but she is gonna carry it to far, they need to rein her in now. She is the reason the show went over. She looks and moves great for 82, but she is the worst dancer and needs to go early. I think the chef this week and cloris next. IMO

pepsip said...

BJ- Benji and Lacey are brother and sister. Benji's cousin Heidi was in the final 4 the same season as Benji. Lacey was on SYTYCD the next season.

meb said...

bj...yeah, what Pepsip said. LOL

I would have agreed with you if I hadn't continued to read the comments. See how easily swayed I am.

Sydney said...

pdx -- she said something that didn't sound at all like a heart aliment... It had three words in it. I had never heard of it before. Aren't I helpful, lol?

I want Cloris to stay -- she may have made them run over a second or two but she was more netertaining and will garner the show more press than anyone else on there. I would at least like her to stay another week.

Caroline said...

Best couples were Lacey & Lance and Derek & Brooke. But lots of others had potential...this is shaping up to be a good season.

I love Kim Kardashian. I feel like in the press she's portrayed like Paris Hilton, but I've watched her show on E! and she's not like that at all. I think she'll surprise a lot of people if she sticks around awhile.

I was not impressed with Jeffrey Ross, Rocco DiSpirito, Susan Lucci or Maurice Green. Cloris Leachman was a trainwreck, and I mean that in a good way. At least she spiced things up a bit.

I'm glad Warren Sapp seems like he'll be good, cause Kym does constantly get stuck with really bad partners. She hasn't had a decent one since Joey Fatone, I think.

Caroline said...

Meb...I also watch Prison Break, although I haven't started this season yet. Once I catch up I'd be glad to get involved in the discussions about it. I had to Netflix the end of last season so I just finished watching that last weekend.

RBennie said...

Good morning all. My thoughts on DWTS:

First of all, Cloris Leachman was an absolute riot. I was laughing so hard my husband actually dragged himself away from the Jets game to see what was so funny. They kept having to bleep her because she was cursing so much. Never underestimate the power of makeup, because she looked pretty good. I saw her on something a few months ago and she was definitely looking more her age then.

I thought that young kid would be better than he was. He really seemed to lack rhythm.

I thought Toni Braxton did well, and she has potential to improve. It is some kind of heart ailment that she has. I didn't catch the whole name of it, but the last word was "angina" and I know that relates to the heart. She was breathing really heavily after dancing and I was a little worried for her.

Susan Lucci was looking very frail, but she has always been a tiny little thing and I'm sure all this dancing has caused her to drop a few pounds that she really couldn't afford to lose. I thought she did okay, but it kind of reminded me of Jane Seymour - too ladylike. She's gonna have to "slut it up" as Bruno would say, LOL.

I think Jeffrey should go home first. I don't think he would improve much at all.

Loved Lance & Lacey. I loved her on SYTYCD. Her specialties are latin and swing, but she learned a lot of different dance styles on SYTYCD and will probably be incorporating a lot of things. I think this will not be the only time Len won't appreciate what they do.

Delee said...

Toni Braxton condition is:

microvascular angina(small vessel disease) is a recently discovered type of angina. Patients suffering from microvascular angina have chest pain but do not seem to have a blockage in a coronary artery. The pain in the chest is because the tiny blood vessels that feed the heart, arms, and legs are not working properly. Generally, patients cope well with this type of angina and have very few long-term side effects.

Sad to say, but, we may see a Marie Osmond to the floor with Toni. I hope not.

Terry is a Texan! said...

Morning all....Well that was some season opener last night...Some, I think are already gone with the injuries,etc...
But although I am a Susan Lucci fan, Im not sure who I am rooting for..I thought Toni Braxton,Lance Bass, and didnt catch him name football player were good!

Terry is a Texan! said...

sheesh, I forgot about Derek and Brooke!

Terry is a Texan! said...

sheesh, I forgot about Derek and Brooke!

Anonymous said...

Thanks for keeping me straight!!!
Now that you said the name Heidi, I agree with you also.

Sorry Meb

Anonymous said...

I agree with all of you! LOL

I hope Jeffery Ross leaves tonight. I don't think he's going to improve much.

I've never been a fan of Cloris Leachman's but she was funny last night(did you notice her call Len a b*strad when his score came up). I hope other good dancers don't get the boot and she is kept.

Susan Lucci surprised me. She seemed frail, very uncomfortable, and akward. Her fans will keep her around for awhile.

Warrn Sapp is a BIG teddy bear, but moved quite well for his size...I see another Emmitt Smith.

Loved:
Derek and Brooke
Kym and Warren
Toni and Alec
Lance and Lacey

Tonight will be fun to see another type of dance from each of them.

RBennie said...

LOL, I know Cloris needs to go, but I just hope its not tonight. I really want to see her mambo! It should be hilarious.

Anonymous said...

I'd make the guess that Jeff Ross will leave tonight because he probably has the smallest fan base before coming on the show and he didn't dance so well (or is it good) either.

meb said...

Caroline... Jackie said she'd give us a place to post, so that'll be fun. More and more people are watching Prison Break than I thought.

tom s... Gretchen and Alex... now that would be a couple to deal with.

Sydney said...

anon 4:17- agree, but he was pretty funny for the time he was on. I bet Edyta is PISSED!

Anonymous said...

syd--are you saying Jeff Ross was eliminated tonight?

How's the dancing going?

joy n said...

I thought Susan Lucci totally lacked rhythm. Her fan base will indeed keep her there longer than she deserves to be.

I like Brooke, Toni, Kym and Lance so far. Cloris is a hoot!

Terry is a Texan! said...

any news on who got bumped yet??
Hey PDX Granny...dont think I can get Laurie into DWTS

Delee said...

They are calling out couples who are staying. Then they dance, so we will not know till the end who is out. I am not liking how they are doing it. The ones gone have to stand there for almost 2 hrs before they know.

Anonymous said...

Won't know till the end who goes home. They're doing the elimination just like always but once you are safe you right away do your second dance and get your scores from the judges.

So far
lance 21
maurice 21
misty mae 21
brooke 26

Delee said...

Maurice Green
Brooke Burke
Lance Bass
Volleyball girl (LOL)
Cloris L
safe so far

monty924 said...

Got home just in time to watch Brooke and Derek dance... another great performance.

Have they said who will not make it/dance tonight?

monty924 said...

Comic relief... I'm telling you. :)

Delee said...

I can see Cloris wearing that dress in a comedy routine...OMG SO glad she tries but! She gave each judge $10 for a bribe...now giving Len the cleavage shot...Bruno has never seen a Mambo like that in the world... scores: 6 5 5

Next in...Toni B

Tom`S said...

Hahaaaa -- Love Cloris L/

Cloris was hysterical, Gotta keep her another 2 weeks for comic relief.
I actually think she was much better than Rocco the cook..

Anonymous said...

Cloris just finished. She isn't very good, but she is very funny! I hope she stays until after all the bad dancers are gone.

The other couples-- Lance/Lacey, Misty/Max, and Maurice/Cheryl were very good and Brook/Derek were excellent.

Delee said...

Have 2 shows at 10 on TIVO have to go away from puter to another tv...

PDX Granny said...

Good evening, all! I've got about 2 1/2 hours before the show starts here, so I'm catching up on the comments.

I'll just say ditto, ditto, & ditto! I agree with each and every one of you!

I was hoping Susan Lucci would have a better showing. I've watched AMC for years. Years ago she was on Regis & Kathy Lee and was asked how she kept so fit. If I remember correctly, she said she didn't exercise much. Watching her last night it was obvious to me that she's not very athletic.

Terry, I guess we can let Laurie get out of this one, but we gotta get her into Survivor!!

PDX Granny said...

So, they're doing eliminations tonight? I thought they were all dancing for both nights, then tomorrow two couples were being eliminated.

Where did I ever get that idea??

Looking forward to Cloris again! After my day at work I can use a good laugh!

Anonymous said...

Cloris 16
Toni 23
Warren 22

monty924 said...

I missed a few tonight but so far, Warren, Brooke and Toni have been my favorites... and Cloris (but not for her dancing). :)

Anonymous said...

Ted 19
Cody 23

We vote again to night and someone else goes home tomorrow

Have to say my favorite and the one that made me smile tonight was Warren

Surprised Susan Lucci is still not safe

Anonymous said...

Rocco 21 he did sooooo much better
Susan 22 she looked better with more clothes on

So it is between Jeff and kim for who goes home

Terry is a Texan! said...

PDX...thatsok, we will get her for survivor, but this will be our little guilty secret!!!
Im not sure what was meant by Jeff and Kim....
You mean Jeffrey Ross goes home tonight? thats fine...

Delee said...

Jeff Ross is gone

Anonymous said...

Kim scores 18 and jeff goes home

Brooke tops the scoreboard and Cloris is at the bottom

Anonymous said...

In my opinion, the rest of the dancers tonight; Brook/Derek, excellent, a possible winner? Also excellent and in the running were Toni/Alex. Very good were Warren/Kym and Ted/Inna. Much better than last night were Cody/Julianne, Rocko/Karina and Susan/Tony. Kim/Mark were okay and Jeffery/Edyta, HRN was eliminated.

joy n said...

As funny as Cloris is, and 40 years ago, she'd have knocked 'em dead, but, a dancer she is not.

Jeff was a good one to send packing.

Brook is absolutely my fave so far.

Toni looks exhausted after every dance. I'm not sure she should be there. It's going to get harder.

Misty is not very graceful. Her large hands look awkward.

I didn't like Lacey from SYTYCD, but she and Lance look good together on the floor.

Warren's not doing badly for such a big guy.

Cody has improved, but has a way to go yet.

Maurice may surprise all of us. I like his style.

Susan was an improvement over the night before, but I don't see her even coming close to the end. Her fan base will keep her there longer than she should be. I want to see what she does next.

Ted - not bad. He needs to relax.

Rocco WAS sexy. Who knew?

Kim - another one who needs to relax and who needs to emote a bit.

All in all, this looks like a fun season.

Glad Maxsim is back. He's sexy every week.

RBennie said...

Good morning all! Overall I thought it was a good show last night. Brooke, Toni & Warren were the best of the night imo. Cloris' mambo was hilarious. She should stay another week or two just for the fun of it. Susan was much better than last night. Lance & Lacey were good, but not great. I recall from SYTYCD that she was not too familiar with the ballroom dances, so I don't know how well she can teach those. Poor Kim looked so uncomfortable. She has this sexy diva reputation, but like she said she's really nothing like that. Rocco, Ted, Maurice & Cody were all just okay for me. Rocco did improve greatly from previous night though. Tough call on who might be leaving tonight.

Anonymous said...

If you go by dancing ability and performances from last night Cloris should go.

Sydney said...

no Nana -- this comment is after the fact now but I was certain from watching the first night that Jeff Ross would be let go. Have not yet seen the tivo of it (we were catching up on the tivo of Heroes instead last night) but seems from here that that was right, but really , you don't need to be psychic to have predicted that.

Anonymous said...

It is a tough call for who might be leaving because right now it's really about celebs. fan base.

I had to laugh at my hubby last night when I was commenting on how good Brooke was but I'm afraid she might not stay as long as she should because of her fan base. He said "but a lot of guys think she is pretty hot"....to which I said "And how many of those guys are going to pick up their phones and vote?"......"Oh,yeah".

Does anyone else think Cheryl Burke has put on some weight? Her backside seemed bigger than last season.

Cloris is funny! I just hope better dancers don't go home to keep her around for entertainment value.

Kim did look very tentative. It had to be hard to stand around(in those shoes) for 2 hrs.!

Lacey and Lance has so much chemistry! I'm afraid they will never get Len's approval....they are young and hip and he is "old school". I agree with rbennie that I wonder about her expertise in ballroom dances.

I'm really liking the "big guy" Warren Sapp.

Maurice seems to have a pretty big ego...good luck to Cheryl keeping him in check.

Misty looked much better than I was expecting. Of course, it was hard to watch her with Max out there!

I worry about Toni also. She is going to need a breathing coach or we'll see her on the floor like Marie Osmond.

Susan and Cody will be around because they have lots of fans in the group that do the voting.

Ted and Rocco were much improved last night. I think he has a lot of potential.

Have a good day all!

RBennie said...

Nana, I so agree with you about Maks. I really couldn't tell you how well Misty did, because I couldn't take my eyes off Maks! I had to force myself to look at her and still my lascivious eyes kept straying back to him, LOL. So glad to have him back.

Hey Jackie. I'm Richard from Houston. This is off-topic. I was wondering what was going on at TVS. Is AOL shaking everything up? They didn't have any show reviews or really much at all for almost 2 weeks. This is the worst time of the tv season to be doing this. They now have a bunch of new people doing reviews. They have given no explainations as to whats going on over there. They aren't replying to any questions that anyone is asking. Will you still be reviewing Survivor there? What about BB? Did they fire some people? I'm about to quit visiting that site. I'll keep going there if you keep doing BB & Survivor there. As for you covering Prison Break, I'd definitely love to see your take on that show. That show plus your writing style equals something I would really enjoy reading. Plus TVS gave up on that show too. Thanks Jackie for all your great work. I'll check back to see if you post anything about what's going on at TVS.

meb said...

delee... the norm would not be two hours for them to wait, and this is basically how they did it before except three people knew at once whether they were safe or in the final two for the night. They still had to wait.

nana in the nw... I thought that Cheryl look a little chub as well. Even her face is slightly fuller. She'll dance it off tho as long as she and her partner get to stay for a while.

Richard from Houston... I was wondering the same thing... Brett Love did a huge write up on DWTS, but...

Jackie, if you haven't already, I think a site for Prison Break is a great idea after all. More and more people are responding that they are watching it.

Thanks.

Connie said...

The best thing about Cloris Leachman on DWTS is that since she is 82, then Jerry from Big Brother 10 can no longer gloat that he is the oldest person to have been on reality TV!

joy n said...

GREAT point, Connie, about Jerry!

Now if he'll just remember it.

Anonymous said...

I personally think the judges were a bit hard on Kim. I hope she stays and picks up some confidence. Rocco was better Tuesday than Monday, but I think they scored him a bit high.

joy n said...

Off topic: RealityTVWorld has some spoilers on Survivor. Can't vouch for authenticity, but they have lots of pix, names of tribes and their members, map of Gabon, etc.

joy n said...

TMZ has this to report.

It says Warren Sapp is quite the man-diva behind the scenes on DWTS. States if it were up to cast and crew, he would be the first to go. Seems Sapp talks down to everybody (especially the guy dancers and production assistants), yells at people and constantly walks out of rehearsals with Kym Johnson.

Move ovah, Shannon Elizabeth.(Their quote)

joy n said...

Now I remember why I didn't like Lacey on SYTYCD. She's a camera hog.

Good, Brooke and Kim are safe for another week.

Cloris is safe again. Hope someone who CAN dance doesn't go home tonight.

Maurice stays.

joy n said...

Misty and Warren are safe.

joy n said...

The six that are left are deserving of another chance. That's why Cloris should leave. Funny or not, this is a dancing competition.

Susan and Rocco are safe.

monty924 said...

Maks is pure EYE CANDY!!!! I think it will be Ted to go tonight. I don't agree with it, but that's my guess. :(

joy n said...

Maks is one big sexy hunk of eye candy!

monty924 said...

A quick week and too bad for his partner... her first season on the show. :(

debi in calif here.. just watned to say that benji and lacy, they grew up here with my daughter and their dad teaches dance here at the local college and my daughter was a student of his as well.. funny huh ? lol

PDX Granny said...

I must agree with what several of you said. Cloris is fun to watch, but it is a dance comp. Was it just my imagination or did anyone else think that when Samantha was interviewing the group in the back that the others were a bit uncomfortable when Cloris kept hamming it up. It's kinda like the class clown. Funny at first, but somewhat of a disruption when they keep it up.

As much as I like her, I would have liked to see Ted continue on. I think he would have only gotten better as he went along. Although I must say, I wasn't very fond of his partner. Tonight she reminded me of Karina with her pout. :(

Cloris looks great but I think she should tone herself down. It is a bit much. No need to be swearing and them having to bleep her. I think manners are more attractive.

Love seeing Lacey.

I think Brook is great and I hope she wins.

Kim Kardashain can go anytime and take her stage mom with her. The mom would rather have her in Playboy anyway. Have you ever seen that show with the most spoiled kids in the whole wide world?? She was crying because she wanted her Bentley NOW!!

Love Julieanne and her brother as always.

Caroline said...

True Kim's mom is the epitomy of a stage mom, but Kim is not that bad. In the episode Anon is referring to Kim is only crying because her Bentley was late being finished and her two sisters were so incredibly rude to the workmen that Kim didn't think they'd let her take her car after the way they were treated. She wasn't crying cause her car wasn't finished yet, not fair to represent her that way.

funniest dancing w/ stars yet. I think I will watch this one.

meb said...

People who don't even like the show are probably the ones keeping Cloris on...thinking it's funny.

I know, that's a stretch, but with the low scores, how big can her fan base be. They're going to cause one of the better dancers to go home.

There are some others that aren't really that great, and they're going to get voted out anyway, so if she stays and one of them leaves, okay, but if one of the better dancers loses because of her fans, then that's totally unfair.

meb said...

The show just started. Looks like it'll be fun. Talk later.

Toni had at least 2 lifts, will she be penalized? OK I cry foul...her foot was off the floor...wow Carrie-Ann called her for it!!!

I love Lance and Lacey. They're young, fresh and exciting. I've never watched the other show she was on, but I really like them on DWTS.

AND, Glen cracks me up on every review of them. :)

monty924 said...

I liked that Cloris didn't ham it up tonight and Carrie Ann didn't. :(

joy n said...

I second that emotion, Monty.

I'm sorry, but Cloris is gawky and awkward on the dance floor. She shouldn't be there. The votes aren't supposed to be for best sense of humor. Even fives are too high. I like Cloris, but she CAN'T dance.

joy n said...

Monty. I was seconding (word?) your Maks statement.

joy n said...

WOW! Susan is just busting out all over, ain't she?

i cant wait for tonight...i decided Im not voting for the really great dancers...but the ones that arent the best, cause then Cloris might get booted..i will support Rocco and Susan and Kim....otherwise they will be gone and Cloris will trudge onward...

monty924 said...

Aw, come on, everyone's too hard on Cloris. They don't win cash afterall... they win a silver disco ball trophy. Cloris will not make it in the competition, but neither will a lot of them. They all have to go one by one until only the best one is left.

I can handle Cloris lasting another week if it means that some of the others who would never win it regardless go a week sooner.

Overall, I would say most dances were lacking from a short week of practice. A few made it just ok for me. I will always remember Drew Lachey's Paso and compare others to that.

Another great week. Brook/Derek were fantastic; Toni/Alex were excellent as were Warren/Kym. I thought Cody/Julianne were good. Rocko/Karina were better than last week. Cloris was better I thought. No one was truely awful.

Thanks, Monty!

I can't even begin to guess who will be eliminated.

I tink Len, Bruno and Carrie Ann scored Cloris based on her age and not dance ability. I don't think it is fair to the others who put in the time and practice so hard. All the others have a chance to improve if they stay.

Alex singing cracked me up. Talk about being out of your comfort zone. Even his wife Edyta had to hide her face

Good Morning all!

I thought overall that last night's show was pretty good, but not great. I don't think this seasons crop measures up to the last couple of years, with the exception of Brooke, Toni and Lance, who show great promise. I think Lance and Lacey were my favorites from last night. They really bring a breath of fresh air to the show, but they better start playing to the judges a little more or they will be in trouble. I like Misty and Maks (mostly because because of Maks), but she is no Mel B. It will be an uphill climb to bring graceful out of her. I love Susan Lucci, but I actually thought the judges were too kind with their scores for her. That was a really boring rhumba. I appreciated Cloris really trying to dance this time, but she does need to go home. Rocco was a total disappointment. Warren was once again a surprise. He is truly light on his feet and I like that he puts it all out there. Kim, Kim, Kim, all that stunning equipment to work with and no clue what to do with it. Her rhumba was more boring than Susan's. I almost forgot about Cody. He's a very cute kid and very enthusiastic, but he has no natural rhythm. Something about Maurice really annoys me. He reminds me of a used car salesman. He should be doing better than he is.

My boyfriend and I both thought perhaps Karina has a bit of a crush on Rocco. And wondered if she is trying to soften up her look with the blonde highlights.

delee, I didn't watch Drew Lachey's season but I loved Apolo and Mel B's pasos so much...and these weren't the same. Granted, Mel performed hers in probably week 7 or higher, and this was week 2...and Apolo did his toward the end of his season.

I really like Lance and Lacey together, but if they want to win they will have to dance a little more traditionally or they risk losing judge points.

Sorry Cloris, this should be your week to go. It's dancing, not comedy.

Love Toni! Hope she stays longer. She needs to get her breathing down or we'll have another live faint on our hands.

Joy n, good to see you here!

Wonder if Maurice is hyperactive? He is a big bundle of energy, never sits or stands still, always yapping, thus making it hard for him to focus.

I think the best paso ever done on DWTS was done by Mario Lopez. Mel B's is a close second for me. I think Drew Lachey still holds the title for best freestyle though.

I have not seen the Kardashian reallity show. What is Kim like on that? She is gorgeous and seems pretty down to earth. I thought she should have been scored similarly to Susan because their rhumbas were about the same quality.

Okay, I will admit to watching the Kardashians a time or two or the whole season, LOL. Surprisingly, Kim is pretty much the most low key of the bunch. Her mom and sisters are much more flamboyant than she is. Bruno was saying something to her last night like "act the part", but the problem is she's really no actress.

Terry in CA, I'm wondering the same thing here in Portland Town!

Everyone seems to be MIA.

Ohhhhh, I am so mad!! Cloris is still there but Kim K. and Mark got voted out! I'm not a big fan of Kim K. but she certainly was better than Cloris! I think many people have a negative view of the Kardashin name and therefore didn't vote for her.

I've only seen parts of the shows this week so I can't really comment on all of the dances.

Where did everyone go here??

RBennie said...

Hi Nana. I'm still watching the show, but forgot to comment this morning. Yes Cloris should be gone, but Kim was truly awful and I'm not surprised she's out. I expected a lot more from her. She has the body and the beauty, but she just never seemed to loosen up and just dance. I feel bad for Mark.

rbennie, I totally agree with your statement of 10:07AM!

I thought Kim's dancing wasn't really all that bad, but she did need to show some emotion and that was difficult for her. As was mentioned, she's not an actress.

Cloris, Cloris, Cloris, why are you still there?

She should have been the first to leave. She's probably a very nice lady. She's humorous. She's entertaining. A dancer, she is not. Not even close. She, and others like her from other seasons, are the the reason this show riles me at times. The voting process on this show doesn't work. This show is more like a popularity contest than a dancing one. Maybe older MTM fans are keeping Cloris there. Whatever the reason Cloris is still ungracefully gracing us with her presence. DWTS, it's just not so funny anymore.

LOL Joy, I had to go back and see what wise words I sprouted at 10:07 hee hee. I'm actually in the mood to see that paso again. You tube here I come!

There are stories circulating that Misty (the Olympics star) was injured while rehearsing and the decision still has to be made about whether or not she can continue in the competition.
