Big Brother 12 - Live Feeds Into the Dawn, July 16

Gotta love Andrew's green shorts and top outfit.

How did Rachel's first night as Queen of the House go? Read on!
  • Lane told Britney he was planning to show off his "wienie" to American on Showtime. She told him America didn't want to see it.
  • Enzo wonders if America laughed at his ex-girlfriend joke on the show. Matt assured him we did.
  • I think I briefly smiled at the time -- did not chuckle, nor guffaw, didn't even chortle.
  • Rachel told Brendon about her nasty goodbye message to Annie.
  • Brendon was a bit upset -- he had told her he kept his own goodbye nice.
  • Rachel thinks there's an alliance of four in the house -- Enzo, Matt, Monet and Britney. Well, she has the number right.
  • Britney told the others that she thought Annie was the saboteur.
  • Then came the happy act for Rachel's HOH room. She got a Rascal Flatts CD, a bikini, snacks but didn't get the pictures she had selected. The others had hoped there would be more photos.
  • Kathy told Rachel how happy she is for her.
  • Rachel in turn promised she'd never put Kathy on the block, even as a pawn.
  • Rachel thinks that if either Monet or Britney win HOH, she and Brendon will be on the block again.
  • I can't believe that neither she nor Brendon aren't even thinking of Lane, Enzo, Matt or Hayden as possible threats! Is the Brigade THAT good?
  • Rachel got her tequila.
  • Brendon and Rachel think Britney is mean.
  • They're right. She is.
  • Lane told Matt that Brendon is really the HOH; Rachel just has the title and photos.
  • Rachel told Brendon that Enzo will always be out for himself. She's right.
  • Monet thinks Rachel is an alcoholic. Rachel does like her alcohol.
  • Rachel, as if to confirm Monet's observation, got drunk.
  • Hayden and Kristen, with their secret alliance, are worried about being nominated together.
  • I don't think that will happen. I believe she'll stick to her idea of nominating Monet and Britney with Britney being the target.
  • They searched for the cricket device until Monet found one and turned it off.
  • They checked out the device and found it made many sounds -- cricket, buzzing, doorbell, etc.
  • So Britney and Monet went looking for more.
  • Kristen wants to adopt chimpanzees when she retires. Um. That's good until they bite your face off!
  • They're all asleep as I get this posted.
Rumors are that Annie has been sequestered. So the saboteur may live on. We'll see. Also, my review of last night's show is up on TV Squad.

I enjoy watching the show after reading your feed reports and seeing how blatant some of the editing is.

I felt like CBS did everything they could to keep Annie in the game. I'm sure she's taped numerous messages to be shown, but they made sure to show the one (about escaping nomination) that took any focus off of her and put much of it squarely on Brendon. I even felt like her speech before the vote was a little too good, like they coached her in a last ditch effort to sway the jury. Alas, none of it was enough.

I hope they don't continue the saboteur. There can be plenty of drama that they make on their own without production continuing to mess with them. When they let them know that it was Annie in a few weeks, won't it be a letdown and seem like a bad idea that got even worse?

Laurie said...

Jackie, I am so sorry you had to witness Rachel being drunk. That cannot have been fun ... blech. Just counting the days until Brendon gives her the boot!

Petals said...

Awesome overnight review, Ms Jackie, as always. I think Rachel will continue to drink, with or without tequila. That has to be off-putting for Brendon: When a chick prefers tequila, that's not a good sign.
Glad that Kristen & Hayden are in a secret alliance - I like them both, whether they are related or not.

meb said...

Jackie, if they sequestered Annie, it sounds like somewhere down the line they may be planning on putting her back in the house in some way. Annie said she wasn't through with the hg's, so we shall see.

How does everyone think Hayden and Kristen look so much alike? We haven't even see Kristen yet have we...well maybe once, for a second?? I can't find them together long enough to compare the looks.

Dr. C. and Silk: The houseguests must know when they enter the house, since it's been shown eleven times before, that they are setting themselves up for scruitny, and will read a lot about themselves when they get out of the house, some they won't necessarily like. It's part of the deal when they put themselves out there, don't you think? While it may be harsh to comment badly toward any of them, it's difficult to say something kind when they do stupid stuff! Just sayin'...

I don't think it's as much that the brigade is that good as it is that Rachel and Brendon just aren't looking at the big picture. As of now I see no reason for them to get rid of either Britney or Monet. Neither one has shown themselves to be strong players or threats and only want them up for personal reasons. I chose Brendon as the guy that I was going to be cheering for this season the second I saw that he was a swim coach but I would like for Rachel to leave ASAP. She's very rude and has no idea what she's talking about half the time. She hasn't carried Brendon through anything yet and Annie was never trying to steal her man. So far this season is mostly just leaving a bitter taste in my mouth so far. It's still early though so hopefully things will pick up.

FA (Formerly Anon) said...

Ew, Monet just went in for her one-on-one with Rachel and like every other liar in the house said "Well, I just wanted you to know that if I had won HOH, neither you nor Brendon would be my targets."

Riiiiiight. I give Rachel credit for telling Monet to her face that she's probably going on the block.

OK, let's talk about Hayden and Kristen. They spent the night together in the same bed, talking nearly all night. From their words, they have this super-secret iron-clad alliance to the point where they both think of themselves as "one person."

When did this happen?

(imho, at birth)

It's apparent that production is telling them to try to play up a showmance for the cameras (but not for the other houseguests) because even when they are alone, they speak to each other as if they just met. But yet they somehow formed this super strong alliance when nobody was watching. Yeah, right.

At one point they were talking about wanting to take their mics off but said they knew they couldn't and that "it sucks." Why? Why would they want to speak without their mics? Not because of what the houseguests might hear, but because of what the audience can hear.

Until they kiss passionately I will never buy their fabricated showmance.

And even then, I'll still have doubts.

Twins.

FA (Formerly Anon) said...

Also, can anyone explain why Brendon and Rachel trust Hayden so much? Right now Hayden is up in HOH with Rachel and Rachel is telling him that she wants to get rid of people who are "gunning" for her and Brendon.

Like, um... who? The guy who put you both on the block week one?

But yet she and Brendon treat Hayen like he's totally on their side.

WTH did this come from?

Is it because Hayden redeemed himself by having everyone evict Annie? Or is this Hayden rewriting history for his benefit? And is he being sincere?

FA (Formerly Anon) said...

You know what the most depressing thing about BB is? That "smart" people are considered the exception, that someone like Brendon who is just of average intelligence but has a decent education is considered a "genius."

That says alot about the state of education in our country.

RBennie said...

I don't get it either. Where is the benefit of putting up Britney and Monet. The only way I would do that is if I was really planning to backdoor one of the Brigade. I really hate it when a woman gets HOH and goes after women. It's such a cop out. How can Rachel not put up Hayden? Brendon has to know the other guys are after him, here's a chance to get rid of at least one of them. Is he maybe not as bright as we think?

JimmyB said...

Has Rachel spent one minute actually playing the game? First, she tells Brendon she'd take him off the block if she wins POV. Then she tells Kathy she'll never put her up. WTF? Making deals and promises for absolutely no reason?

Maybe she knows something I don't. Or maybe she's as stoopid as I think she is.

FA (Formerly Anon) said...

JimmyB, I give Rachel some credit for maintaining her cool in the face of: being on slop, being a have-not, being on the block, being on the block with her BFF, knowing everyone in the house has targeted her and her BFF and yet she not once held a pity-party or went all Chima on anybody.

Plus, she came in second for the POV and won HOH.

I'd say she's playing the game.

AND, if that's not enough, she already won the hottest guy in the house.

Sally said...

Jackie, This year's BB schedule, with shows on Wednesday and Thursday, mush make your BB reporting much more difficult, without being able to use your day off to recoup between shows. I hope the schedule isn't too hard on you.

Seems like these houseguests talk about big plans and alliances, but base their actions on personalities rather than strategies. I might do that too, if I were trapped in a house with annoying people like Rachel and Britney.

I hope Annie isn't sequestered, and that the game moves ahead without a saboteur.

FA (Formerly Anon) said...

OMG, the genius Matt is telling Rachel and Brendon why he's 100% sure that Britney is the saboteur.

Well so much for his powers of observation.

Petals said...

OMG, Rachel wants Britney out because she is cute. When Monet win the POV, Kristen will go up in her place, thus ensuring that one cute girl leaves the house.
Rachel has the personality of a stripper.

cha cha said...

If Brit and Monet are on the block and one of them wins POV then the other will be voted out. They are only thinking about last season when Jordan won the game.
Jordan wasn' the sharpest tool in the shed but she did good enough to win BB and besides she was smart enough to know not to keep Kevin.

This to me has been the wierdest season with the houseguests and there thinking. I think most in the house can win the dunce cap award

Dr_Celine said...

Fomerly Anon...I know PhDs who really aren't that bright but who have perseverance. Really that's what it takes...average intelligence and the ability to hang in there and keep going even when you fail. Perseverance and smarts are definitely two different things. Agreed about the state of education in America.

Dr_Celine said...

Just because you go on a show and open yourself up to scrunity does not mean you are prepared for how the world views you. She obviously thinks that America is going to love her and see her and Brendon like Jeff and Jordan. Just because someone signs up to perform in the rodeo, does not mean that I enjoy watching them get gored by the bull. I don't find it fun to ridicule people who deserve my compassion more than my jabs. I don't like everything Rachel does, but I also am of the opinion that she doesn't grasp the full meaning or understanding of her actions or comments. I also do not believe that all women who have been strippers are "bad" people - I think sometimes very bad things happened to these women when they were younger and I often feel badly that they do not value themeselves and their bodies more because someone else has taken that value away from them. I think it's okay to say we don't like someone's behavior...or even that we do not like their personalities...but I, for one, do not want to cut them down or be mean in my comments. I just feel badly for Rachel because I know she is going to come out of the house and be shocked by how people really see her.

Anyone having problems with the live feed (Repeating clips, small window not the same as big window, will not enlarge to full sceen or not showing anything)? Please help if you can. Thanks, Jon

Love your site Jackie! :)

FA (Formerly Anon) said...

Jon, yes, the feeds suck big time due to technical problems. But the flashbacks suck even more. It's pathetic that CBS/Real charge money for these feeds and they are of poorer quality/reliability than many free sites (not BB sites, just other sites with video of other things).

Sasha said...

FA...I'm not sure it's so much an indication of the state of our education as it is on the state of those who go on "reality" shows. JMHO

FA (Formerly Anon) said...

Sasha, unfortunately from my experience, these reality show contestants are a valid representation of our society.

FA (Formerly Anon) said...

Sasha, just try watching Congress on CSPAN for a few days. You'll see that they truly represent their constituents and that you could put Congress on BB and it would look just the same as it does now (except not so good looking).

Now there's a reality show idea!

Laurie said...

Petals said: Rachel has the personality of a stripper.

Now that was funny! She will try to get the pretty girls out because she doesn't want competition for her bed-buddy. She is as insecure as they come and not the brightest of the bunch.

Dr C, we all get to have our opinions about the house guests and express them here. People who go on these shows know they are going to be talked about and picked apart for the good stuff and the bad stuff. That's what keeps shows like this on the air and keeps Jackie's blog going. Feel free not to say anything negative or critical about them, certainly that's your prerogative, and please understand some of us will have our fun with them.

I do feel bad for Rachel and her real life. I also think we are seeing her just as she is in her real life: desperate, mean and vindictive. I hope she sees herself and learns she doesn't have to be so provocative and possessive, and in fact, would have a truly better life with more self-esteem if she overcame those things. However, right now she is a character on a tv show and is fair game.

FA (Formerly Anon) said...

Uh oh, looks like Brendon is a have-not this week. Bet Rachel doesn't like that he won't be able to sleep up in HOH with her! Did he do it on purpose, I wonder?

Enzo is also a have not.

On fish sticks and something else.

Dr_Celine said...

Hi Laurie,

You said, "However, right now she is a character on a tv show and is fair game."

I respectfully disagree. Personally, I do not believe that just because someone goes on a TV show that makes them fair game for others to tear apart. I understand your position, as it seems you do mine, but I do not agree with you.

I like Jackie's blog because she reports things that happen in the house, sharing her screenshots, and thoughts on who's a contender, player, etc.

I also appreciate that this is a free country and everyone is free to share their ideas and opinions. I appreciate your freedome in sharing your thoughts about Rachel and others, but I disagree with tearing someone up and laughing at their expense. Just because someone went on a gameshow and puts themselves on TV doesn't mean they deserve everyone's cruelty. That being said, certainly everyone is free to share any ideas they want to share. I was just stating mine and thank you for reading them.

Best,

Celine

fishsticks and fruit cake...the worst choice. Ugh

Dr_Celine said...

Sorry for the typos...freedom

FA (Formerly Anon) said...

LOL oh yeah, fruit cake! I forgot what the other choices were, but personally I would be happy with fish sticks and fruit cake.

As for Rachel, I don't really see why people think she's so insecure or awful. Listen to her speak about her family members, she obviously has a loving and supportive family. So what if she wants big boobs?? Hey, if she has the money, so what? It's Las Vegas after all, it's probably the norm.

I don't see her as an awful person. Now Annie... ugh, she was annoying and quite possibly awful. I wouldn't want Annie as a friend but I don't think I'd mind knowing Rachel.

Oh well, that's why we're all different.

FA (Formerly Anon) said...

I think they just found out that Annie was the saboteur...?

meb said...

Dr. C. It's not that I don't agree with you, I do... the point I make is that people are going to make fun of people like her... sad maybe, but it's going to happen.

This is one of those games where when we 'talk' here, we're probably typing as fast as we can just to get our post in before the show comes back... I may not say things exactly the way I might have said them, had I had time to construct my thoughts. I'm not sure I've been one of the ones who have said anything 'mean' about the hg's unless you count the word stupid as being mean. It's a game we wait for all year so we can get here at Jackies and tell the hg's all the things they are doing wrong (or right).

I do have a question... do you have a twin named Joe.

OK Joe... just kidding... you have been the perfect gentleman so far, unless you are writing under a pseudonym... Dr. C???

And Laurie... I do agree with you, i.e., fair game.

Dr_Celine said...

Although I do not usually post often...I have been coming to Jackie's blog for years for Big Brother...every year, I'm here. I'm not new...I just don't comment that often.

Petals said...

Right on Laurie & meb. These HGs are clearly "savvy" enough to be aware of the After Dark following. Rachel even mused that America loves her being a couple with Brendon. So they are not unaware of the public forming opinions, good or bad.
Dr C, for myself, I dislike snipey women. Rachel & Britney are snipey, snarky back-biters. Has nothing to do with her breasts or her crayola hair color.
Now Kristen is a pretty girl! And so far she has kept her game clean.
We are not a room full of haters, we have a good time.
Love you guys!

Dr_Celine said...

I agreed with Joe last year...or the year before when everyone was upset with him. I can't remember how long ago it was...but I do not think my comments have been "unladylike" thus far...I thought I was being respectful. No, Joe and I are not related nor do we know eachother.

Petals said...

Are you guys talking about my Joe? NY Joe? Just curious. He's isn't actually "mine", but you know..
hehe

meb said...

OK.. I think Jackie's is a place to come and have fun and if you don't like how I say something, tell me. It won't change anything probably, but you have the right to say what you want and so do I. Simple as that isn't it.

And yes Petals... I referred to Joe in NY, but I was truly only kidding.

Petals said...

Cool Meb! I think Joe would love to know you guys were talking about him, LOL. He is the sweetest!
You're not a meanie, Meb.

OMG! I take a couple hours off and a fight breaks out at Jackie's and I'M NOT IN IT! I'm both thrilled and disappointed. LOL

I'm not sure what started the "discussion" but I agree with everyone! LOL.

I sometimes think that we make snap judgments about people and vocalize often hateful things. I try to be "fair" but I've had HGs I didn't like and said as much.

But the HGs have to know that they are in for it when they sign up for it. In fact, I'm sure they sign legal releases with CBS that pretty much spells out that they have no recourse for any libel or slander from the way they are presented and probably including CBS message boards. (So I guess they can still sue Jackie! LOL)

On a personal level, I'm always torn between a desire for a more civil society and the wish that we simply didn't take ourselves so seriously so that civility was irrelevant. I'm still conflicted.

Namaste!

Petals said...

You are so cute, Joe. But what a trouble-maker! ;P
kidding of course!

Thanks Petals!

Dr_Celine said...

Petals...Queen and The Beatles are my fav bands of all time...I miss Freddie...man could he sing. I miss John and George too...but something in Freddie's voice...I could "feel" him sing. Thanks for the kind words. :-) I like your tastes too...some are eerily familiar. LOL

Dr C ~ I know, RIGHT? You would see many duplicates in the movie area as well, but I can't even begin to list those.
