Big Brother 14: Live Feeds Power of Veto Bulletin - Sept. 1

Dan finally won something. Yes, he won the Power of Veto. Will he use it? We won't know until Monday.

I'll be posting a full report on today's live feeds a bit later tonight.

WhooooO!!

I love it. I hope that Dan is planning to take Ian to F2. Ian would win & Dan would get $50k. Even if it were vice-versa, it'd be a good F2.

I have to laugh at Shane right now because he's still offering himself up as a pawn. Britney warned him to "knock it off" with the pawn crap and he didn't learn a lesson?

If Frank stays this week, they are all completely clueless.

:)

Dan has to know this is the chance to get Frank out.I doubt he would use it as Frank is probably the only one who beats him in final 2 because of all his comp wins.....I guess we will see soon enough.

Sounds like it was OTEV and a very close win for Dan. Should make for good TV.

Donna in Alabama said...

If Dan takes Frank off the block, he will show the QP he is against them. If he doesn't use the veto, Frank will go to jury and know Dan is not a man of his word. Why did he not throw this comp? Does he think Ian was going to backdoor him?

Sharon N said...

Dan & Ian are discussing all the scenarios.
I can see Dan taking Jenn off... or not using the veto at all.
Even thinking about taking Frank off is insane.
If Frank isn't taken off, he'll get wicked-ugly again this week!

monty924 said...

Donna, it sounds like it came down between Dan and Frank. Dan had to win it. Even Shane just said he was about to sh*t himself watching it.

monty924 said...

Dan just said, he'll probably take 'her' off to Ian. They've been running the scenarios between them, just them since Shane left the HoH.

monty924 said...

Don't think it was OTEV, but something really similar. They were talking about finding coins with names on them, and haystacks...

Sharon N said...

Sounds like Dan will probably take Jenn off and Ian will put up Joe.
That's fine.. as long as the rest don't get a case of the stupids and keep Frank.

Donna in Alabama said...

Why even use it if Frank is the target... is Dan going to somehow get Frank the votes to stay? or is it a show of good faith to his alliance to Frank and Jenn? Maybe he tells Ian he is returning the favor for Jenn saving him.

monty924 said...

My guess is both a jury vote and keep Jen working with him and not against him.

vJenn is more likely to vote to keep Frank than Joe is. So if you want Frank out, wouldn't you want to keep Jenn from voting?

What the heck is OTEV?

PDX Granny said...

It sounds like they're leaning towards Dan using it on Jenn, saying he owes it to her after she took him off. That way it'll be easier to sway her to vote Frank off. From their conversation, it sounds like she'd be willing to do that.

Of course, as we all know, there's still plenty of time for things to change.

Silk, OTEV is VETO spelled backwards. They've done it since all-stars every season. It's the comp where they put two clues on houseguests together and have to find the doll, Record disc, cat, etc that has those two names on it. The last one back to the mat is out. Sort of like musical chairs.

OTEV is VETO spelled backwards. It's usually a game where some bit idol type thing gives a clue about a housemate. Then everyone has to go search the yard for something that has that person's name on it. It sounded like this year it's maybe an ear of corn.... maybe.

I agree with Donna. Winning POV doesn't really seem to have an upside for Dan. In fact, I'll go one better than Donna: he either pisses off the entire Quack Pack or he pisses off both Jenn and Frank. The QP are NOT going to want him to use it on Jenn or Frank, so even if Dan takes Jenn off, he probably annoys the QP.

The only possible upside that I can see is if he can pull Jenn off, convince the QP that it is a debt of honor, get a split vote on eviction and force Ian to vote out Frank. Potentially, that would save Dan both Jenn and Frank's jury vote and sink Ian's ship with Frank and Jenn. But that's a lot of ifs.

Makes me wonder if Dan is paranoid and thinks the Quack Pack wants to backdoor him.

Joe in NY said...

Ian can't be dumb enough to "let" Dan use the veto on Jenn. It's a lose/lose for Ian. Ian has to name a replacement pawn. And Frank has a chance to at least split the vote.

I know Ian can't stop him, but he should lobby hard against it. It makes the target even bigger on him. Dan can repay Jenn just by keeping her in the game, he doesn't need to use the veto on her to do it. The argument that she would come down and then vote against Frank is half BS. If she's so willing to get Frank out, she should be happy (relatively) to be the very safe pawn opposite him.

Given the numbers, 4 will rule the house. So what's the 4? Ian/Joe/Shane and Danielle? Or Frank/Dan/Jenn/Joe? Or even Frank/Dan/Shane/Dannielle/Jen?

Frankly, dumbass Joe (I suppose I, of all people, shouldn't use that phrase) is suddenly the most important person in the house as a swing vote.

Sharon N said...

Joe in NY,
If Dan pulls Jenn off, they can easily put up Joe because he's not part of the QP.
So Dan saves Jenn and doesn't tick her off.
The QP remains ok because none of them will go up (though dummy Shane offered to go up as a pawn.

Jenn has told Dan that if he takes her off, she will vote Frank off. We shall see.

Either way, the QP will vote off Frank.. unless he manages to bully them into saving his butt again.

I don't think Frank has "it" to pull off a Dan type of miracle.. and people wouldn't buy something like that again anyway.

Donna in Alabama said...

My point exactly Joe. Whether he uses or not, he will be pissing one of his alliances off. So he must be paranoid enough to think he could be a replacement to even try to win Veto.

Dan, Dani, Shane, Joe are the only ones voting if Frank & Jenn stay on the block. If Dan & Dani vote Frank to stay, Ian would send Frank out.... so it really doesn 't matter what Dan does with the Veto... his true colors will be known by Thursday on how he votes.

Joe in NY said...

Sharon, I disagree.

If he pulls Jenn off, that alone should PO the Quack Pack. It's not about who gets nominated in their place. At best, it is obvious and blatant jury pandering. After last weeks big move, Dan can't be fully trusted. He needs to earn QP trust and using POV is not the way to do it.

monty924 said...

Sharon's correct, and if you would just watch the feeds, Shane and Danielle are fine with him pulling Jenn off. Ian is as well and that IS the QP. After I thought about it, it isn't such a dumb move, but there is always a danger of the pawn going home. If they think because Frank can't play HoH this week, they are all idiots. You had him on the block and he didn't win veto, so send his sorry self to the jury already.

monty924 said...

Went back and watched some of it that I missed while I was doing double duty making dinner. It appears it was OTEV and this year they had to find ears of corn, I thought they were saying coins earlier, with names on them. Dan and Ian were really dirty after the comp so it definitely looks like a fun comp to watch on Wednesday's show.

They don't know it will be a double eviction show this Thursday and really should get Frank out NOW.

Joe in NY said...

Monty, I can barely bring myself to watch the show much less the feeds.

Ok, I stand corrected. The QP is a bunch of morons and they are OK with Dan playing both sides.

If Frank is going home, there's no need to remove Jenn from the block other than to curry favor with Jenn and/or maintain her as an alternative to the QP. OR, to possibly work with Jenn/Frank to evict Joe and really keep his options open. Either way, if the QP are on board, they are morons. Why not insist that Dan SHOW his loyalty to them by NOT using the veto? Maybe they ought to just write Dan a check now.

Kaye said...

Double evection week, Both Frank and Jenn could be gone, Fingers crossed.

monty924 said...

Lol, Joe. I understand all of your points exactly, but they are a bunch of morons and are under Dan's mist so to speak. They think they are golden as long as they stick together and Jen really doesn't have anywhere else to go but with Dan at this point. Who else will protect her? Joe? Dan probably won't either, but she's between a rock and a hard place.

I don't see Ian breaking away from Dan this week/this vote and Danielle and Shane won't either. They don't know it is double eviction week and haven't started making plans for it like they did the last one. And you remember that there was a lot more expendable folks in there during the last one.

It will be an interesting week for sure.

monty924 said...

And will just add that Frank was the first one to tell Dan to take Jen off. Use the veto on her. Even Frank thinks it will work in his favor. If Dan pulls Jen off and Frank still goes to jury, he only has his own move/thought to blame.

Ed in Ohio said...

I think Dan winning the Veto was a good move;

- assured his safety
- protects the QP. They'll all continue to look to him for leadership
- prevented Frank from winning (again!). I guess he finished a close 2nd.
- makes Frank's eviction entirely possible (finally)
- if used on Jenn could garner Jury Votes
- allows him to get in Ian's (HOH) head
- more Dan 'mist'

All in all it seemed like a good time to step up his game.

monty924 said...

Exactly Ed.

Now Ian's mentioning an alien spaceship during the OTEV. It keeps getting better as far as the comp set. Can't wait to see it on Wednesday.
