Big Brother 17: Live Feeds Final Three HoH Part 1 Endurance Comp Updates - Sept. 16

Playing a waiting game ...

Once they get started, I'll be updating this post -- refresh the page to get the latest.

It's 10:10pm ET. They finally took the time off the banner. That had been reading to stay tuned for it to start at 9:00pm ET.

11:00pm ET - We have Jeffish interviews/highlights.

11:30pm ET - Still Jeffish

11:43pm ET - finally ...

They're swinging on giant candy apples and dunking into red liquid. They're periodically being slammed into a wall.

11:51pm ET - A new thing, a blast of powder.

11:58pm ET - All three still in, by the way. Liz looks the most uncomfortable.

12:10am ET - All still in.

Steve said that it's exactly the kind of comp he's wanted -- endurance, but not overly physical, a "how bad do you want it" kind of comp.

12:24am ET - Steve slipped, now sitting directly on the apple instead of above it. He uses the dunk to get back in the right position.

12:27am ET - Although Steve had his slip (and fixed it), it really looks like Liz is having the hardest time with this comp.

12:34am ET - Finally the BB voice yelled at Steve for singing (humming). It was driving me bonkers.

12:45am ET - All three still in it.

1:00am ET -- All three still in.

1:15am ET -- All three still in. Am I a bad person for wishing one of them, any of them, will fall soon?

This is REALLY BORING. One better fall soon!

1:38am ET -- Some kind of goopy white gunk sprayed on them. All still in.

If no one is out by 2am ET, I'm going to take a nap or an outright sleep and catch up with this in a few (or four) hours. This must be one of the most boring comps they've ever done.

Steve down 12:18am PT

Vanessa wins HoH Part 1 at 12:31 their time

That's, of course, 3:31am for me! She just wore down Liz, telling her that she needed to win this part because it's the only one she'd be good at, she has a good ten more hours in her and more.

Repeat of the Danielle, Dan, Ian comp. This might take a while

monty924 said...

Don't give up Liz.... come on pool girl. Prove that you should be there.

Judy said...

I don't think I can bear to watch this! Hi Monty, I agree - this could be a long night.

Judy said...

Jackie, thanks for doing this!

Sharon N said...

WOW... this comp is also showing on BBAD!!!!

monty924 said...

I might not be long for this comp. Have to get up early in the morning, but I'm here for now. :))

monty924 said...

Liz, block her (Vanessa) out and stay up there

Anonymous said...

Oh my gosh come on ladies do not let superfan win this.

monty924 said...

i wish they'd do the rolling thing over this comp. This is an easy one to throw in my opinon. The rolling one takes more concentration

uncartie said...

Monty How long did Danielle, Dan, Ian comp last?

How is your co-worker?

Anonymous said...

Please let some of the goo glue little rain mans mouth shut lol

David said...

Wow, this is an easy comp. They may fall asleep and lose that way before something knocks them off. This will be a true endurance I think as they all know they can't throw it.

monty924 said...

I don't have an update on the co-worker yet, Uncartie but thank you for asking. It's a brain bleed so it is serious and I'm waiting on news in the morning and still appreciate all the thoughts and prayers that all of you can send his way.

I'm not sure about the Danielle, Ian, Dan comp. It was over with pretty quickly around 20 minutes because Ian agreed to through it to Dan and then Danielle gave up pretty quick after Ian dropped out.

I think these three are going to hang in there the way an HOH endurance should be held.

monty924 said...

*throw it

My fingers are typing faster than my brain

David said...

Prayers to your co-worker monty

They even get to stand up every now and then in this one to adjust themselves. This could take forever.

Anonymous said...

Monty it's taking everything in me not to get on a plane and smack his superfan butt off that thing lol.

uncartie said...

Work your magic,Vanessa. Convince the other 2 that it will be good for their game to throw it.

Sharon N said...

Getting dunked in cold water and then whizzing through night air has to make them even colder... then slammed into the padded wall. It has to get pretty uncomfortable after a while.

David said...

LMAO @ Jon ^^^^ =)

monty924 said...

LOL, Jooonnnuhhh :))

Anonymous said...

"This is not the HOH you are looking for " said Vanessa in her Jedi way lol

Sharon N said...

Jonnnuhhh is on a roll tonight! LOL

Anonymous said...

Has it rained on them yet ?

Anonymous said...

Move fish! Cool they listened!

David said...

They should have designed this to hit the little knee wall coming back to the dunk pit to maybe knock them off into the water. Make this a little harder.

Sharon N said...

Speaking of comps. I just realized they haven't had one of those ugly 'punishments' in a while... like the one where Dan was shut in a room alone for 24 hours and had loud music playing.

Anonymous said...

Man I would have yoinked his teddy bear, dunking it each time taunting him lol

monty924 said...

I think I have to bid a farewell tonight. I'll see all of you fine folks in the morning when I'm surprised by the updates. Thank you again for the thoughts and prayers for my friend. Nite all!!

Anonymous said...

That was awesome Sharon if only they could have done that with superfan that would have broke him lol

David said...

I would think the squire polishing Jackie for a day was the equivalent of that comp Sharon. They have not had the ball pit this year but I would guess the searching through three different area's during the BOB comps would be an equivalent.

Anonymous said...

Night Monty hope everything works out will say prayer.

Jackie S. said...

They didn't have ghosts behind the mirrors or us calling them all night this year, either.

David said...

Just skipped ahead to see the schedule for next week and no BBAD on Wednesday night so no back yard interviews again this year after the show. I enjoyed watching all those interviews and had to go searching for them on the internet last year.

David said...

You are right Jackie, and no dark blind search house either to go with the ghosts in the wall.

Sharon N said...

No Pandora's Box, and no magic genie thingy keeping them awake by giving comp clues all night long.

Lots of "no" things. lol

Jackie S. said...

And definitely NO WEEKLY TWISTS ALL SEASON! That still hasn't been explained.

Sharon N said...

ah yes, the weekly guest host UNtwist.
Wonder if they had hosts cancel, or if they just decided it wasn't going over all that well. If that's the case, they could have replace it with something else. Like the suspected America's Player... that never happened. LOL

Anonymous said...

Jackie saw an article where Julie said that they had enough things going on with this cast so they decided to stop the weekly twists

Anonymous said...

They thought it was too much with the Bob & twins

Sharon N said...

Julie's husband apparently indicated that 5 or 6 of the players this year didn't 'pan out' as expected. Heck, I'd say it was more like 14 or 15!!

Anonymous said...

Ok this "superfan" is going to bed lol. Thanks Jackie and talk with you guys later on :)

David said...

LOL, Steve has no balls to get hurt, Vanessa took them from him.

Sharon N said...

Same here Jon... nite all.

Judy said...

Thanks, Jackie! Just popped in to see what's happening; now I'm going to sleep.

David said...

According to Jokers, Vanessa won first part. Production moved them from their seats to the balls where Steve was sitting the one time he slipped. He lost a shoe then slipped off. Vanessa started promising the world to Liz after that but it appears Liz slipped off without making any deals.

I will wait for Jackie to give an accounting of what really happened as I have been burned by believing what Jokers has written before. I am sure Vanessa won the first part of the HoH but how it happened I don't know.

Sharon N said...

Yeah, We'll have to wait for Jackie to give us the straight skinny.
One report says Van was trying to make a deal with Liz. A different report says no deal...she just told Liz that she could stay up for 10 hours, so Liz might as well go ahead and drop to save her energy for Part 2.

Jackie S. said...

Sharon - More of what you said. I napped, but caught it in flashbacks. No promise, lots of pressure. There was something mouthed, but not said out loud. It could have been "Please!" for all I know. Not long enough to be a promise.

Anonymous said...

What would happen if there is a tie with the jury votes, there will be 8 jurors, Shelli, Becky, Jackie, Meg, James, Austin, JMac, and who goes of the three that''s left Steve or Liz that is.

Anonymous said...

Vanessa played the best game but she was a BULLY, with Steve. However I do not feel sorry for him at all, he wants to talk a good game now he had chances to vote Vanessa out and didn't, how on earth could he have ever considered himself a Superfan. He didn't have a clue, People are saying he has an over protective mother, I guess she had never watched BB, some people get down right evil when it comes to $500k.

Anonymous said...

Anon 620, looks like Julia is missing from your list.

cminnie said...

Yea I was thinking the same thing! They made a big deal at the beginning about these weekly twists and then nothing happened. Kind of like this whole season. Where's the have not comps? The Pandora's box, etc etc...

Anonymous said...

Thanks Anon 8:43 I guess I've tried all season to forget about them since they never should have been allowed in the house in the first place.. LOL

uncartie said...

Sharon,RE:Players not panning out. I think Jeff & Jackie have to be on the top of that list. CBS inserted 2 players from Amazing Race that ended up being busts. They were even the last 2 hg's featured on the show's intro every week.

Enjoy my fellow wonks...
FUN FACTS

-The person who wins part 1 of the final HoH has gone on to win part 3 in 10 out of 15 times. However, the winner of part 1 has only won the entire game 5 out of 15 times.

-There have only been two times ever that the person who won part 1 of the final HoH was not in the Final 2: season 8's Zach Swerdzewski and season 11's Kevin Campbell.

-Vanessa is the eighth woman to win part 1 of the final HoH. Of the previous seven women, five managed to win part 3 and all seven of them made it to the Final 2. However, only two of them have ever won: season 3's Lisa Donohue and season 13's Rachel Reilly. In fact, Rachel in season 13 marks the last time that the winner of part 1 of the final HoH went on to win the game.

-This is the seventh time the Final 3 has featured two women and one man. In the previous six times it happened, the man won the game twice (season 2's Dr. Will Kirby and season 7's Mike "Boogie" Malin), but the man was eliminated in third place the other four times (seasons 3, 4, 11 and 13).

-This is the first time ever that everyone in the Final 3 has won at least 3 HoH competitions. Season 8 is the only other time that everyone in the Final 3 won multiple HoH competitions.

-John is only the eighth person ever to finish in the Final 4 without winning a single HoH competition. Season 7's Dr. Will and season 8's Jameka Cameron did it and also finished in fourth. Season 12's Enzo Palumbo and season 16's Victoria Rafaeli did it and finished in third. Season 5's Michael "Cowboy" Ellis and season 10's Robert "Memphis" Garrett did it and finished in second. And Dr. Will did it in season 2 as well, winning the game.

-John also ends the game tying the all-time records for playing in the most HoH/PoV competitions with 27 (tied with season 16's Victoria Rafaeli) and playing in the most PoV competitions (12, tied with season 16's Caleb Reynolds).

Is anyone else having trouble voting online for favorite houseguest? I keep getting the message about having used up my daily allotment of votes, but I haven't voted in about 36 hours--since late Tuesday(PDT)or early Wednesday(EDT).

Anonymous said...

I also am unable to vote for James as AFP. Tells me I have used my votes for today, and I only voted one day....so how can this end up being fair? It can't, just like the rest of the show.

Sharon N said...

Anon12:28, yes. I wasn't able to vote at all yesterday. Maybe that's why the vote totals above are low...at least what I'd consider low for a large amount of viewers.

Chacha said...

i have to wonder if its a 24 hour cycle? i am unable to vote as it says i have reached my daily limit

Sharon N said...

Chacha, I thought the same thing, but even after 24 hrs, I got the same message.

Anonymous said...

Uncartie, now you are what I would consider a SUPERFAN.

Anonymous said...

I just don't see all the love for do for nothing JMac, all he did was throw comps and scream like a banchie, he does not deserve a dime ,but to each it's own

Chacha said...

anon-
I don't see the love for Jmac either. His dr sessions in my opinion were not that great.
James on the other hand was funny even when not trying to be.

Sharon N said...

Just checked and I'm still getting the "you've reached your daily limit" message, even though I was only able to vote Tuesday night!!!

Go figure. CBS either has a big ol' glitch, or they didn't really mean you can vote daily. :(

In past years, BB has tried a lot of gimmicks to either control or add interest to the show. Just a few that come to mind are Pandora’s Box, the Golden Power of Veto, America’s Player, and Reset. Then, there was always the timing of comps that seemed suspiciously geared toward their favored, but doomed, HGs. For example, last year, Frankie seemed to benefit from a lot of that timely "luck". Some posters here denied all of that, saying that all of the comps were scheduled, in final sequence, and the whole season’s agenda was set in stone months ahead of time.

This season, however, BB bellowed in advance that there would be a new twist every week. The first (and last) one, with Kathy Griffin, bombed. The twins were quickly exposed. And, as days and then weeks went by, the game devolved into multiple, conflicting, disingenuous alliances that were compelling neither to players, production, nor viewers. Since players weren’t “panning out” as Production expected, they admittedly gave up on their announced agenda. “Expect the unexpected” came to mean to expect more of the same. Still, even with a mediocre cast, in the long run, it made for a more interesting season because Production, at a loss, ended up letting the HGs actually play the game.

The larger point is that, for the Kool-Aid crowd who believed that Production sticks to a full-season plan, and never makes on-the-fly decisions nor alters the agenda as the developing season warrants, BB17 should come as a revelation.

Anon 1:28,Superfan? More like a good copier and paster :)

Sharon,That poll I posted was from "Buddy TV" not CBS. I've seen other sites polls though and the results are similar. I'm at a loss as to why Jmac is so popular and someone like Meg is trailing far behind.

Anon 2:46, I've said for a long time that production can alter the schedule of comps to favor a player anytime they want. I'm not saying it's fixed but Grodner's elves can help change the course of the game by which comps are scheduled, when they take place, and who's competing in them.

I would like to see full transparency and see CBS release the full schedule of comps at the beginning of the season. That would eliminate most conspiracy theories.

nice contributions uncartie!!! Interesting!

Sharon N said...

uncartie, interesting that other polls show approximately the same results.

Since I've only been able to vote the first night (Tuesday) and see others are having the same voting (or non-voting) issues as me, I'm curious...
Has anyone else here been able to actually vote more than ONE day (for their 20 votes)?
I normally use Chrome, so I switched to Firefox.. just to see if that would work. Nope.

Becky said...

That was interesting Uncartie. I tried to vote and got the same "you have used all your votes". Maybe they REALLY meant 20 votes total!

If Liz goes to jury I really think she will not vote for Vanessa. Austin's bitterness will spill over on her.

Jackie, thank you for going above and beyond on this season. I wish the show had been half as entertaining as your posts were. If it were not for you and the members of this blog I would have checked out a long time ago.

Vote for James everybody!!!! C'mon!!!

Chacha said...

Sharon, Becky-
I voted yesterday, not Tuesday night. I still can't vote.
I will say I tweeted @cbsbigbrother to get it out there that there is an issue.

Uncartie-
I will say i have to wonder why they changed the final three to sitting on the ball instead of the round seat after three hours. Did they want to get the comp over with?

Judy said...

Uncartie, thanks for the fun facts!

I am having the same problem voting as everyone else - after two days, they are still telling me that I have reached my maximum for the day. I'm voting for James - he has a good heart, played hard, and could use the money. I do like JMac, though - there's something genuine about him, and I like the way he bided his time and then made a big move. I also find his DRs hilarious. I wonder if he'll get a bunch of new, star-struck dental patients?!?

Why oh why didn't Liz try to strike a bargain with Vanessa? Vanessa totally psyched her out, saying she could last forever, and Liz just crumpled.

Judy said...

P.S. Jackie, I just made a donation via PayPal. I wish it could be more. Thank you for all that you have endured this season, for your great and humorous writing, and for the hospitable space you create.

Judy

David said...

It is a voting conspiracy I tell ya. CBS wants to give JMac the AFP money. The casual viewer will vote usually only once on the day of the announced voting show and would probably vote for JMac because of the DR sessions. The more hardcore, feedsters, and online community would probably vote more for James and is more likely to vote every day than the casual viewers. Thus skewing the vote to James over JMac.

LOL, I am just joking but always fun to throw out the conspiracy theories into the air and see what sticks.

Chacha said...

David-

I was jokingly thinking the same thing. I am throwing all my votes(when I can vote again) to James. I believe like Judy that he played a good game. I really don't remember Johnny Mac doing much but throwing a BOB in the early weeks of the game.
James he was fun to watch on the feeds, from his pranks to his sayings. He also didn't know how to throw a BOB the correct way either!

Sharon N said...

If people base their votes between JMac and James because of comp wins, they are both even... depending on how you look at it.
James won 2 BOB, 1 HOH, and 2 VETOs
JMac won 1 BOB, 0 HOH, and 4 VETOs

Where the America's Favorite lines "should" be drawn:
James was social, entertaining and just plain fun for everyone, almost all the time.
JMac was not social, or fun, but a lot of us couldn't wait to see what he'd say next in his DR sessions, and that was his entertainment value.

It's all in how anyone chooses to view them.
I have to say that I liked both for different reasons, but JAMES should take the lead with voters. IF we ever get to vote again!! < grumble-grumble >

Anonymous said...

James has such a good heart! So what him to win. I was only able to vote the first day too!
