BB19: Live Feeds into Friday, HoH Part 1 Winner - Sept. 15

Floated under the radar to the end

First off -- my apologies for turning off Anonymous comments to the blog. I've had too many problems this season from the start of the season ... even at times with the regulars. I can definitely see why Dingo at Hamsterwatch doesn't allow comments on her entries. While I like the sense of community and feel community makes this blog the place it is, I put too much work in this place for too little return to be trolled and constantly have to babysit the comments. I honestly don't need the headaches -- I have enough of my own without this. I may turn the anonymous back on again for showtime. I don't know. I certainly hope the upcoming season of Survivor isn't as polarizing and hateful as BB has been this summer.

Anyway, here's the latest from inside that Big Brother House of It Can't End Soon Enough:
  • The live feeds were blocked for hours after the live show ended.
  • In previous years, we've been able to watch the first part (usually endurance) play out on the feeds.
  • Not so this season.
  • We had a brief respite when Kevin answered his fan questions. He was the gentleman that Julie sees each week and holds no grudges against any of his fellow hamsters.
  • I would guess that we'll see a taste of the start of the HoH tonight at the end of a whole lotta clips.
  • Paul won it.
  • They were all covered with colored dust and looked beat.
  • Josh was out first. He needs to get his act together!
  • It's the first really physical comp that Christmas got the doctor's clearance to compete in.
  • She thanked her doctor.
  • Yes, if Paul wins it all, he's most likely to take Josh. He once again mentioned that to us. While you can't trust what he says to his fellow hamsters, we usually know his plans. He thinks he can win over Josh, but perhaps not over Christmas.
  • But ... if Josh wins the final HoH, he's likely to take Christmas.
  • Now, THAT could be interesting and be the only real game-changer move in weeks.
  • Josh and Christmas will compete against each other in the second round.
  • The winner of that round goes against Paul in the final round.
  • Whether the house is just so empty or they were just so beat from the comp, all was quite subdued.
  • You know it's subdued when Josh, Paul and Christmas are all in a room talking and I had to turn up the volume to full just to hear the discussion!
  • Thankfully Raven isn't there to occasionally scream and wake up my neighbors.
  • Paul told us he's the "black sheep" of his family.
  • Why am I not surprised?
  • He's probably going to be known as the "black sheep" of BB even if he wins this season.

Get it together, Josh!

Kevin's, not Paul's

Must compete with Josh next.

Actually being soft-spoken. Very odd.

Jackie-

I did seem to notice trolls this season.

I love your blog as I have for years now. Its amazing how you do this year after year...

I am ready for the season to be over with.

I posted on previous thread but will paste here as well..

Here is my break down of Jury votes with a Paul/Josh final 2

Xmas-- Paul
Alex-- Paul - she said she wouldn't go personal
Jason-- Paul - he will follow alex's vote
Kevin-- Paul -- takes nothing personal
Raven-- Paul -- she is delusional
Matt-- Paul -- he is just a body floating around
Cody-- Josh only because he hates Paul
Mark-- Josh -- will follow cody IMO
Elana-- ?? thats a toss up but I think she follows what Mark does or vice versa

My dream scenario would be Josh and Christmas....what a heart attack for the hamster to choose between those two......Paul sitting on the outside. Im mean. Im sorry. not sorry.

So sorry it's been hard to blog BB this year due to trolls and in-fighting. Just wanted you to know that your hard work is appreciated and how much I love your updates. I don't bother with any other BB sites because you always present us with the most important happenings in the house. Thank you Jackie and I hope we are always allowed to make comments because it's a lot more fun to share our thoughts even if infrequently (as I do). Anyway, just wanted to send some love and appreciation your way.

Terry is a Texan--
I have thought about that.
Paul would be shocked.
What if Xmas wins the second part- Does she throw part three to Paul? Does Paul throw it?
He knows Xmas will take him... We know Xmas will take him....
This is the beauty of BB

Jackie,Yes,there have been more trolls and the comments haven't been as friendly in past years. I blame it on the horrendous bullying behavior that went on inside the house.

IMO,there is really no good reason to cater to anons. It's not like the verification process asks for anything personal. I like debating and chatting it up with people I know here even though we can often disagree. Not knowing who is who with the anons makes it difficult to carry on a meaningful conversation.

You mentioned in another thread that Christmas would be getting big bucks for her injury from CBS. I disagree. I can only imagine the type of release CBS would have insisted she sign in order to get CBS's permission to continue in the game. It wouldn't surprise me if there was a total release from damages sustained and a clause that prevents her from suing in the future. In order to sweeten her part of the deal they may have also agreed to bring her back next year. Well see. Grrrr

Now if you'll excuse me, since Paul won comp 1 I'm off to my local formal menswear store to get fitted for a tuxedo to wear to the coronation on Wednesday :)

Thank you for all you do, Jackie.
This has indeed been a hateful season. Unfortunately hate breeds hate.

Last night, Elena was funny and spot-on, and so was Mark. Raven and her delusions...thinking she and Matt were (are?) puppet masters, along with Paul.
Someone (was it Jason?) said, "then why are you here sitting in here on the couch?"
I cracked up!!!

My latest impression of Cody: he doesn't like to suffer fools, especially irritating and delusional fools. Matt and raven definitely fit that description. So Cody went into his usual stare...until it came to Raven's raving delusions and the ensuing remarks. He was grinning like a Cheshire Cat, but somehow managed to restrain himself. lol

CBS most certainly has them sign a waiver for everything. This comes out of the players pockets with injuries to themselves or damages to items in the house(stipend money)

THe cigarette episode of season 8 where Jen destroyed Dicks smokes were replaced out of Jens stipend.

Sharon N said...

Uncartie does it again?..my morning laugh!!

After listening to Andy on Rob Has a Podcast last night, I have to agree about XXmas's injury. She probably won't receive anything for her injury...other than the medical bills. It was particularly interesting when Andy said they get billed (out of their stipend) for just about everything "extra" and that included GinaMarie having to pay for the medical stuff pertaining to her injury.

It just reaffirms what we've suspected... that BB is cheap. lol

Sharon N-

I have heard in the past from producers to Julie talk about the reason for the win to only be a half million.

Food provided, electricity, water and such.

Even Julie has to take a pay cut for the next installment with "cbb"- I can't see any "celebrity" even a D list doing this show for less than a million.
It will be interesting to see what the prize money ends up being.

Jackie, many thanks for actually watching the unwatchable. You may not remember me, but we go all the way back to AOL. I've followed you since the first BB. Where is Chicken George when you need him for a laugh? Where is the charm of Dr. Will being devious and admitting it to his fellow guest?

That being said, Evil Dick was the beginning of the end for me getting the live feed. The next season sealed the deal, can't remember their names (trying to block it from my memory) Then I did enjoy watch the "After Dark" Now Paul and destroyed that (as well as many of the other hampsters)

Bottom line, thank YOU Jackie. I do have interest in how it plays out. I SO hope Paul does not win, his tactics, his language and his overall ability to stand up for friendship while being a snake for the game. I can't even watch the shows for more than 15 minutes. Were it not for you Jackie, I would not know what was happening. I wonder.....should I even care?

What? Dingo is female? Hamsterwatch and this blog are the only two I follow and I've been following for years. I guess I just always assumed Dingo was a guys name (I'm sure that's somehow politically incorrect). Actually, now that I think about it, that makes sense based some comments and her style of writing. Learn something new everyday!

I have always enjoyed the comments section but this year I didn't participate. It's too bad about the nasty/unkind comments. It seems to be a reflection of the polarizing world we live in. Many just don't seem to care if they offend and maybe even feel that their bad behavior is a badge of honor. - clover

Clover-

I have to say that I haven't commented as much as I used to.
I don't get the personal negative comments.
I try to always think before I type/tweet/speak.
Can't say the same for some of the "anon" comments this year.

I am wondering why Christmas would take Paul. Is she insane, or does she really believe Paul's bs that she can beat him. This, for me, had been the worst season, and i have watched them all. I hated Paul last year, and the idea that he got a second chance, and will probably win, makes me wonder if i will ever watch again. Could you imagine if next season they do All Stars, and Mr. Self-Proclaimed 'Sociopath' comes back AGAIN?

Jackie S. said...

Yes, Dingo is a woman. Those of us running the sites and blogs have had a bit of a relationship over the years. We know what each other goes through. Unfortunately, a few of our BB sites community have passed. Many of us have been doing it since the beginning.

Glenn Allen said...

Christmas would probably owe CBS and Big Brother money if she has to pay for her medical care. It would seem having to pay for her surgery and the casts and scooter and crutches etc. would be way more then what she earns from the game unless she won the game.

Glenn Allen said...

Jackie I appreciate all the hard work you have done. I have been watching since season 1 and I remembered the Aol site before you got this Blog. I have never won any season from the Pool. I think Christmas is the closest I have come to winning the pool.

I also am looking forward to survivor. I also wish Big Brother would have either a season with all newbies or have a season with players like Cameron and Glenn who were evicted without really having a season to compete.

Chacha said...

Glenn Allen-

I would assume she has health insurance that will help with the costs.
I don't see her "hurting" for money per say.
She is a successful business woman.

Rosanne R-
Xmas taking paul because she has a crush on him and would have a better chance in her mind

first things first: HAPPY BIRTHDAY JACKIE !!!!!

I think if Paul's plan to put all the blood on Josh works, then wouldn't that make JOSH the greatest player this season?

Petals said...

Oh wow! Glenn, you reminded me that I am still in the pool (my person makes it this far!)
Josh is my pool dude. Who knows how this will play out?

I'm sorry Jackie for all you went thru this year. Between the Bb guests and the blogs posters this has been a bad summer. If I wanted this kind of drama I would watch MTV. As a fan of your and Bb for 19 seasons I believe I'm done. The so called celebrity Bb will be trash TV again. Thanks again Jackie for all that you do for us Bb fans.

Happy Birthday Jackie!!!!!!

I took a step back from this season and have not posted much because I like the game play. The strategizing and game moves are what interest me more than the actual hamsters themselves. That has been totally lacking this season. Everyone working to push one player to the end instead of working angles to win the game themselves, and a total lack of moves to try and make that happen, just made it boring for me.

Nothing any of them did was for their own benefit. If Josh had been banging the pans as part of his own strategy, that would have been great. Instead it made him look like the fool trying to entertain his king to not get on the kings bad side. Pathetic.

Raven proved last night she had no clue what was going on and was just there for comedy relief. There are always one or two of those in the house each season that are totally delusional about why they were cast on the show. I will give them a hint, it is not because they are the sharpest knife in the drawer.

Allowing Christmas to stay in the game also was not cool. She got a psychological advantage being able to leave the house on multiple occasions to clear her mind and talk to others outside the game while others like Kevin was stuck in there with raving lunatics. A big part of this game is how you deal with the pressure of being isolated and confined to the house. Working from home and being confined to the house all week most of the time, I know how good it can feel to just get out and take a drive even if I really have no where to go.

I could go on, but I am just glad this season has come to an end. Knowing the outcome from the beginning has made this a terrible season in my opinion. Thank you for all you do Jackie and allowing us to hang out here, even if we are not on our best behavior sometimes. Sometimes you just need to yell at the kids to get off the grass, dang young whippersnappers.

First, Happy Birthday again Jackie. Another successful trip around the sun!!!

Petals (1:29), REALLY!! LOL

I've only went deep into the season once with my pool picks. I had Liz (the twins) in the pool and came in second. I don't think I even made it to jury most other years, lol.

I can't see much of a path for anyone to win other than Paul unless he's evicted at F3.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JACKIE!!! I hope it's been at least a decent day.

We can't thank you enough, Jackie. You lose sleep to blog for us. You put up with us through thick and thin. So thankful for you....from the AOL board days, to now. <3

I think it's too late for them to get rid of Paul. He is going to be on a winning streak. Christmas is drunk on his Koolaid. She might even throw the competition. The only way they even have a chance to get Paul out is Josh winning. And, even then, he has always done what Paul wants. So, we'll see what happens. I'm betting Paul wins it all. I think he believes that is the only way he can insure himself a F2.

I thought the best of last night was the jury house. IMO, I see much of Cody as an act. He's being sarcastic. Although, I do not believe he likes Matt or Raven. That is obvious. Those stares and smiles were hilarious. Typical Cody. I do think he has always liked Alex, Jason, Elena and Mark. He's a lot kinder to them. Raven is so delusional. I want to see what he is like outside the house. I'm betting he's more likable. JMO.

Here's how I see the votes:

Mark - anyone but Paul
Elena - anyone but Paul
Jason - anyone but Paul
Alex - a toss up, but probably Paul
Matt - Paul
Raven - Paul
Cody - I still believe he will vote for Paul. He does not like Josh at all. I think he will break the tie.

Nickelpeed-

I do believe Alex votes for Paul. She stated in a few interviews after being evicted she wasn't voting personal. She has admitted she got played by paul but he was playing a great game. She wasn't happy about friendship but gameplay was very good.
I also think Jason follows her lead.
Mark/Elana will vote together for Josh/Xmas

monty924 said...

I agree. Alex and Kevin will both vote for Paul. Matt, Raven, Alex, Kevin, Christmas and that's all you need. I think Cody will vote for Paul too over Josh.

monty924 said...

*I think Cody will vote for either over Josh

Happy Birthday Jackie

Chacha,I agree. Christmas has to have good health insurance that probably covered it. Her business is her body and cross training. She'd be a fool not to have coverage.

Christmas is so in the tank for Paul. She seems happier for Paul then herself. Makes me think she already has a deal to come back next year?

Nickelpeed said...

Ooops, I did forget to add Christmas in the mix. If Paul picks Josh, it's hard to say if she will actually vote Paul or not. She could be bitter. If she feels the same way as Alex, she'll probably vote Paul. However, if she is really bitter, she'll vote Josh. Now, if Christmas is in the F2, I do not think Josh will vote Paul.

Personally, because Paul bamboozled them all, shows what a good player he is, whether some of us like it or not. So many of them were so far up Paul's butt, they were rooting for him to reach the end.

Matt and Raven are hilarious. They did nothing, yet they think they had a great play. I am so anxious to hear their responses after they watch what we watched; and read the tweets and responses. The game play lacked so much this year. They were only playing for Paul because they thought they were the only ones he had a alliance with. It was so obvious, they weren't the only ones. LOL
