'AOL/Gold Rush' Clues Meet Up

This blog entry is for you! I'm not following the game, but it seems many of the blog readers are very into it. Last night a reader asked me to watch for a clue that was supposed to be on the Survivor 13: Cook Islands premiere, so I did. However, I don't know the clues and I'm not playing, so I'm sort of clueless about the clues.

I thought a meeting place to share clues, find out more and talk with others would help everyone out. If clues are posted in various show entries, others might not read them. So, here you go... a place to gather in the comments section just for AOL/Gold Rush clues, news and more! Have fun and I hope one of the blog readers here win! Or many of them win!

The website for the game is here --> Gold Rush

You can favorite place or bookmark this link for easy access as the game goes on by saving -> The (TV) Show Must Go On...: 'AOL/Gold Rush' Clues Meet Up

jackie...
i'm surprised you're not trying your hand at the game..seems something right up your alley...i stumbled onto it today and got thru 10 challenges and then hit a wall with 11 and 12...
if you're surfing around (like you do) and are bored (which i doubt you ever are) you should give it a whack..i'm sure you'll breeze thru it (the entertainment guru that you are)

and on another note...great job this summer with BB7 (again)...i'm not a real survivor fan, but i follow along with you...waiting patiently for TAR
mad props to you girl!..YOU ROCK!
thanks!

Smokey or Joyzjenn -
I'm playing alone. Do you have players? or Would you like to play together? I've solved the first 2 challenges of round 1. I'm looking for the gold bar so I can unlock my 2nd trophy.(I've been playing in order) Email me at Taytaa17@aol.com if you want to form a team.

Sorry if this is already posted, I haven't read many of the newest comments: I saw an interview with Dr Will and he said he will be on the Dr 90210 show soon, the Tyra Banks show, and very likely TAR next summer with Boogie not Janelle.

Okay. I knew Jack Black yesterday. And I still can't find the Gold Bar at Money and Finance. Help please.

Anonymous said...

in response to Lili @3:33am...that's just great....to have two ugly Americans(especially BOOGER)running all over the world pulling their dirty tricks and showing what a$$es some of us can be!! Please God...not that!! I hope the producers of TAR would know that MOST of us would hate having BOOGER represent any of us..IMO!!

foxyxoox,

we had a heck of a time figuring out the gold vault answer (Mel Gibson) how did you figure it out?

p.s.
THANKS

Anonymous said...

Smokey,
I've tried everything to find the gold bar in 11 and let the whole page load, but still don't see it HELP please

Anonymous said...

Smokey
Thanks for the info, BUT for some reason it is not showing up on my screen, i see the top money news box but there is no gold bar anywhere around it, maybe i'll e-mail aol and conplain. But thanks anyway for helping me

Anonymous said...

Smokey, There is a new round each week and all the challenges in the round are not playable the first day. For Round 1 Day 1 there were only 6 challenges available, Day 2 there were 4 challenges and Day 3 the final 2 challenges and the gold round.

BTW, I still can not get the gold bar for challenge 11. There is an advert on my screen directly below the TOP NEWS box, not a gold bar. Thanks for trying to help anyway

Anonymous said...

Smokey,
I don't remember exactly what the clue was for gold medal but it was something like - sexiest man alive 1985. Can't wait until the new challenges open monday.

JC

Anonymous said...

foxy,
down under was the clue given for the gold round. The dominoes do spell out sexiest man alive 1985 in braille.

Anonymous said...

Well, I finally got the gold bar for Round 1 Challenge 11. Here is how:
1. Minimized AOL (they are my ISP)
2. Opened up Internet Explorer
3. Went to Gold Rush web site and signed on.
4. Played Challenge 11 and used the link to AOL M&F.
5. Voila - Gold Bar loaded with no problem.

So I think it may be an AOL thing. LOL !!!! Thanks Smokey and foxyxoox who tried to help me.

Anonymous said...

I was not able to play yesterday, and probably will only be playing sporadically so I will just concentrate on playing the Instant Win Games. I'm not in a position to travel and compete if by a miracle I were to win! Thanks for the tip Smokey - I let the page load slowly and the gold bar was finally visible.
Gayle

Anonymous said...

Penny, are you talking about the guy that mimes? I got that one "Brokeback Mountain" but that was the last one I got! lol I'm going to start fresh tomorrow on Game 2 just for the fun of it and play the Daily Instant Win Game to hopefully win something.

I am upset about the Gold Challenge being geared towards younger people, I am 67 and have a problem with lymphedema in my right hand and arm, so I injured my mouse finger, trying to get to match the cards with pictures in the time alloted, could not do it because of my handicapped hand, If they had kept at question I would have done ok, but fastest finger does not work for me...so sad

Anonymous said...

anon 4:53 PM
Sorry about your injury. I'm not well-rounded in pop culture either. I was able to keep playing that match game until I won - speed and memory. I think they will have a little of everything - so that with a Team - the various skills that a Team has will help them win.
Gayle

Anonymous said...

HOW DO YOU GET INTO ROUND 2, MINE JUST WANTS TO STAY IN ROUND 1 AND WON'T GO TO ROUND 2. IF IT PICKS THE 1ST 3 WHO FINISH THEN ITS NOT WORTH PLAYING. EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE A CHANCE TO WIN AND THEN DRAW 3 NAMES!

Anonymous said...

I'll be 59 in two weeks and I pride myself on keeping up with pop culture of all generations. The soldier/dance challenge probably was foreign to younger people. My biggest gripe is that if you have anything but the absolute latest newest computer and software you don't have a prayer! I've used three different computers to try to pick the fastest one! Unfortunately, my home computer is about the slowest.

BTW, once you complete the first five challenges, the final one has to do with a character on tonight's new tv show "The Class" on CBS. So now in addition to hanging out at a fast computer, I have to carry a tv around with me??

I think they should take the first maybe 2,000-5,000 people who solve all challenges in a round and then have a drawing among those people.

Anonymous said...

OK, foxyxoox, I'm going to take you up on it! Round 2, Challenge 2-- I don't play whatever that game is and I can't figure this out. I'm sure there's a logical solution, but logic isn't my strong suit! LOL

Anonymous said...

Thanks, Smokey -- I'm at a different computer now that has an older version of Flash Player, so can't enter answ to #6 yet. Any idea what time tomorrow they'll put up #7?

Anonymous said...

Well, I finally got the first six xhallenges in round 2. It took me a while. I'm sure tomorrow will be harder.

I don't think so. I knew Frank Sinatra and I tried. If there is a way I couldn't find it. In a way I'm glad I don't know this one because of the gold rush challenge...I kept thinking it had something to do with Frankie but no. Then I spent about an hour trying to do something with pizza and dominos. I never would have got Mel without the people on this blog. I can't read braille. I hope the new one isn't so difficult.

Has anyone gotten to challenge 7 of the 3rd round? Nothing is jumping out at me, so it's probably someone I don't even know, ugh.

Anonymous said...

Challenge 7 round 3 is very easy - just look at the picture - what is it a picture of? I am looking for help with #10

Anonymous said...

i look at the picture till i get a headache and right now i getting one, i can't figured it out either

Anonymous said...

Challenge 10 requires us to watch CSI tonight first. I have tried as many thoughts as I could, but I think it's going to be original, just as "bizzle" was with the Survivor clue.

To the one who said challenge 7 was easy - can you give me a hint?? I am drawing a total blank. It's either that I don't know the person, or that I should have stopped for the latte like I wanted to. LOL

Anonymous said...

finally figured 7 out, i was spelling the name wrong, also got 10

Anonymous said...

Challenge #10 is not an uncommon word like survivor was. I read the clue - and just guessed.

Anonymous said...

YAY - I finally figured out 7. I stared at that picture saying outloud what Smokey had said...Did a search on chauffers..then it suddenly hit me. Yay!!! You are right - it's obvious once you figure it out LOL

Anonymous said...

To Anonymous at 9/20/2006 8:57 PM, Round 3 answers 1 thru 10 can be found at goldrushaol.blogspot.com

Thanks very much. Today I did all except 7 and 10 by myself. (I had tried Martin Short and Rich Little unsuccessfully for 7). Finally gave up and looked. Thanks again.

I HATE it when they say to watch a certain tv showfor the answer.

Anonymous said...

Hi all - I have found that when they say watch the new show....you can usually go to the preview clip and figure it out. CSI showed a bunch of peopling Dancing....the commercial for Jericho mentioned Atlanta....so if you don't want to wait for show - just check out the video links etc for the show.

Goodluck tommorrow with the GOLD CHALLENGE..............Kelly

Okay, I'm done playing. It isn't fun when the puzzles don't work correctly. I'm tired of trying to do a work around - if AOL doesn't work, try Internet Explorer. On round 4 Challenge 11, it takes off two of your ten tries every time I click on the puzzle. Good luck all. Hope one of you wins. Thanks for all the help.

Susan---it did the same to me after I had many failed attempts. I just logged out and then logged back on and tried it again and it worked. Don't quit!!!! DanaD1

the gold challenge answer isnt a game. but you use a game of sorts to figure it out.
using the fours you find letters and write them down in order of the squares.10 squares 10 letters
i got it but havent a clue what the answer means lol.
another clue was that is a kevin spacey character in a movie.

Anonymous said...

clue in round 5, sept victories?? Help please! J

Anonymous said...

got it! at first wasn't sure what you meant by using the `4s' as I haven't come across a game like that - guess it's American, I'm foreign - but anyway glad I fig'd it out, finally...! the character sounds vaguely familiar to me too but not sure what film it's from.. anyway, just happy to have finished! thks for ur help!!

Anonymous said...

Can someone please help with the sports scramble? I can't figure out G 3308. And I also don't know the Lord of the Rings one either?

Anonymous said...

keyseroze is a name from a movie kevin spacey character usual suspects. the name most used was verbal kint but the keyseroze thing fits some how.
you were never supposed to get a game as an answer, just use a game to get the answer. a version of connect four.

mt doom is the lord of the rings one.

sept victories. armstrong if i remember correctly

thanks for everyone for all the clues and such. i'm just playing for fun so it helps when someone gets me past my frustrations lol

Did anyone else have a problem with the gold challenge for round 7???
I got the clue figured out, but when I typed in Rosaline it said incorrect. I tried different spellings, all caps, no caps, but couldn't figure out why it wouldn't take. Finally left the silly puzzle with much frustration. Then today I tried Rosaline and bingo it went it first time! This is nuts!!! Hope you have better luck -- BB

Round 8 Challenge 4 movie mentions two things you don't do: put another mans girl in your fave 5 (phone) or give her a foot massage.

Thanks for the help with the movie. Anyone else sick and tired of AOL's Gold Rush site not working? I have to log off an on to get things to work, the movie didn't play today, and, the other day, they had the start time of the challenges posted wrong. I'd think CBS and Mark Burnett would have put enough money into this to make it a level playing field for all!

debbie, i have 6 also maybe i have one you don't, and you have one i don't. I'm gonna try to map it out for ya! Starting from the top, the missing balloon in the clouds, the basket under the balloon in the sky,the clouds on the left of the page right above the white balloon with the blue on top, bottom left below the two people with red shirts on it's missing in the picture on the left, go to the right of the page at the bottom the man and woman her arm is around him in the picture on the right but it's missing in the picture on the left, and the last one i got is almost in the middle- it's in a space between the balloon that is on it's side with a rainbow colored top and the dark balloon with one white back near the top, it almost looks like a background of trees but on the right picture the difference is a dot of color and on the left picture there isn't one. I can't find the seventh difference so if anyone has it please post, i've been looking at this thing forever!- Lane

Debbie and Anon 11:41 -- I found the last one. It's the head of the person in white slightly above and to the left of the person with the moved arm. I had found the previous six before I read this blog and couldn't find the seventh. I just found it by clicking around and came upon that one by accident. Glad to help you out. -- BB

How did you get it? Almost ready to give up on the whole darn thing----And I am just doing it for fun!! DanaD1@aol.com
