'Survivor 15: China' - East Coast Updates 11/15

The show has started here on the East Coast. As it airs, I'll be updating this entry with the latest news including the boot at the end of the show. My full review will be posted later tonight on TV Squad. I look forward to reading your comments about the show!

Erik, Frosti, Amanda, and Courtney won reward -- an overnight cruise.

Denise, Todd, Courtney, and James chose to eat instead of trying for Immunity.

Peih-Gee won immunity.

Frosti was voted out. Aw.

Although it's over, it's not. Jeff said they weren't heading back to the camp as they had more business to attend to, cut to credits. It's a to be continued kind of thing, I guess.

Red team are bouncing the balls way too hard, especially Peih Gee.

Love how Peih Gee blamed James totally for the loss.

I don't know what it is about this season but no one impresses me. I always have a favorite or two to root for but at this point I could care less. Does anyone else feel this way?

Frosti likes Courtney's tiny body!

joy n said...

Then PG complains because they didn't win?

Anonymous said...

Tessa, James is the only one that stands out in the challenges. I think he blew the luxury comp because Peith-Gee picked him and he doesn't really like her.

monty924 said...

Peih Gee's defense was laughable because she was arguing with James. She threw a comp with the intention of voting Aaron or James off. James was totally justified with what he said. Too bad, so sad, PG.

The way they're gobbling that food down - somebody is going to be sick.

Jackie S. said...

I noticed James laughed every time they dropped the ball, but I don't think he deliberately threw the comp.

Tessa said...

I can't believe 4 of them chose to eat. James better be sure to use one of his get free passes at tribal. I'd be worried if I was him.

joy n said...

Can you believe piggy Courtney pigged out again? I was so hoping Frosti would win that immunity instead of PG. I'm afraid this might be it for him. Hope I'm wrong. It's too much to wish for that Courtney would get voted out.

does anyone know when the last time so many people gave up immunity for food? i think it was pretty obvious who the over-confident ones are.

Anonymous said...

Two good meals for Courtney in two days, bet she doesn't eat that much at home!
I don't understand why they lied about what was served on the cruise. What was the point?

Tessa said...

Courtney is such a wild card. Why don't they vote her out.

monty924 said...

I also don't believe James threw the comp. It was laughable that PG picked that particular fight, with of all people, James.

I can't believe she won immunity... I wanted her gone. I want Denise safe. She was dealt a raw/wrong deal last week.

Jean Robert's eye rolling is a scream!

tessa---my husband yelled out "brat" when JR was rolling his eyes, haha

Nobody has talked about James going home...however does that really mean anything?

Hi, just wanted to send a prayer for your cat, I have a 20 year old that so far looks great, feels great and acts like a kitten but every day I expect something to happen. So I feel your pain. Take care.

I didn't mean James did a Peith-Gee and blew it on purpose, but that being in her group threw him off. He is a strong competitor.

Tessa said...

Can anyone refresh my memory on where the alliances stand.

Anonymous said...

Frosti was a strong competitor! Bye Frosti.

Tessa said...

OK what's with that!!?

Tessa said...

James wouldn't be stupid and not always bring that idol with him to all tribals. Would he? That could be a pretty brutal mistake.

Okay, trying this again. Frosti had an idea that he was the swing vote. That is never a good idea.

Bye Frosti.

They seem to be throwing alot of food at the survivors this season. Someone must have gotten worried about the severe weight loss of the contestants.

I cannot believe mean-spirited, selfish, totally useless Courtney is still there. Why don't they get rid of her?

Anonymous said...

She is so useless everyone keeps her because they want to go to the final two with her, knowing they would then win by a landslide.

Last week the entire show was geared around blindsiding James and then this week there is no mention of that, not even once. This week, it appeared, they actually could have blindsided James. Which I don't want, but I was concerned the entire time that is what would happen. After all that is what blindsiding is. Why the big switch by the others about James not going? What did the editing not let us in on? What did I miss? Thanks Jackie, I hope good things for you and your cats. Been there, suffered that. Sue

I certainly hope James brought his immunity idols with him to TC. I have a feeling there will be another competition and TC at the beginning of the show next week.

I'm glad to see that James is finally lugging the immunity idols to the tribal councils, but, as was mentioned in your TVSquad article, Jackie, James seems to be getting a bit smug because he has them. The fact that he doesn't present one of them before the vote is one sign of that. And it's something the other tribe members have surely noticed.

It seems to me that could easily be an opening for the others to blindside him. My question is, if they decided to do that at some point and do vote him out, what happens to the idols? They're in his bag. Does he take them with him when he leaves? Does Todd get back the one that technically belongs to him? And if his leaving nullifies those idols, would a new one be hidden for the others to find? It seems a little late in the game for that to happen. I can't recall any other season where this situation has occurred. Any thoughts on this?

RBennie said...

Joy n, I do seem to vaguely remember a season where the idol got rehidden. I don't remember the circumstances at all though. Maybe someone with a better memory can recall.

I was surprised that James didn't use one of his idols last night since he said in the beginning of the episode that he was going to bring them from now on. I guess he felt 100% sure that Frosti was going home.

I remember reading some spoilers about James going out early because of a major error he makes. So that makes me think he doesn't play his idol when he should and he gets blindsided. If that does happen, its no one's fault but his own.

I'm really surprised by Frosti's attraction to Courtney (unless it was all just gameplay). He's a really cute kid and I'm sure he could do a lot better.

Delee said...

Courtney is sure not warmth for Frosti...did anyone notice her side ribs last night? Better not give that girl chocolate milk, we will see it go down!!!

JOY N....
"While the idol was never played during the Panama or Cook Islands seasons, interviews revealed that after use the idol would have been put back on Exile Island. In Fiji, the idol was replaced after its use with a new series of clues to its location."

Found this in Wikipedia: above and below

"Once found, the player that possesses the idol may keep it or transfer it to another player prior to the start of Tribal Council, and it may not be stolen from that player. The player is not required to show this idol to other players, though may use it as a bargaining chip for alliance and voting purposes. Other players may discover the ownership of the idol via any means within the rules of the game, including peeking into other player's personal possessions."

Always wondered about the rifling thru pocessions to look for it...now we know!!!

Hey everyone. I've been reading Jackie's blog and everyones comments for about 2 years now but I have never posted. So here is my 1st. I'm just wondering if anyone else noticed in the previews for the next episode that Todd had a freshly shaven face and that James had his head shaved smooth. I'm wondering if that doesn't have something to do with the surprise Jeff has for them. I'm not really sure what the surprise is but maybe that has something to do with it.

RBennie said...

Thats really observant of you RJ in AL, I didn't notice a thing. Thanks for the idol info Delee. Did it say anything about stealing the idol? I've always wondered about that.

joy n said...

Thanks Delee, for researching all that info. That answers all my questions. Plus, I had no idea, either, that "rifling" was allowed. I'll probably still b***h about it when it's done, though. And, yes, I noticed the ribs, too.

Rbennie, I do remember something, too, about James making a "grave error". That might be it. I agree, if that is the case, it's his own fault.

RJ in AL, as rbennie said, that was an excellent observation, I hadn't noticed, either. Guess I was still wondering what was up with them having more business to take care of before going back to camp. And welcome to the commenter's group!

Aww,I really hated to see Frosti go,he was one of my favorites! But,then,I also knew his days were numbered, since he was an "outsider" in that camp.I can only explain his attraction to Courtney as he was very, very young!

Does anybody else get turned off by Todd's arrogance? Last week,James did something to tick him off and he was the target. Every time Todd gets a bee in his bonnet,he decides that person has to go. Yet he never wins anything and isn't very dominant in the challenges. He's like a little Napolean.

PG had a whole lot of nerve, trying to put all the blame on James. It was obvious she had no clue how to control that drum, even if she had a little better luck than James. And he just didn't have the touch in that challenge,oh well. I'm glad he gives it right back to her and also glad she never wins, that will serve her right after throwing that one in the beginning, after all,it was her bright idea from the get-go.

I'll miss Frosti, but since he was courting Courtney, maybe it was time!

To Nancy in Seattle who wrote: "She is so useless everyone keeps her because they want to go to the final two with her, knowing they would then win by a landslide."

First, it's most likely going to be a Final Three, but it brings up an important point. If you are keeping anyone around to be dead meat at final tribal, wouldn't the better choice be Jean Robert? Nobody likes him and with his ego his final pitch to the jury would have been about how brilliantly he played the game when everyone (in the jury, in the crew, in Jeff's trailer) would know that he had gotten there because the other player thought he was worthless as an opponent or a potential vote getter.

joy n said...

Ahhhh, Brett, and wouldn't that have been a revelation worth waiting for?

Since Courtney and James are slated for the All Stars maybe that means neither win this round.
just speculation

wgAnon said: "Since Courtney and James are slated for the All Stars maybe that means neither win this round.

In the previous All-Stars there was a few Million dollar winners thrown into the mix with all our favorites. I can remember Richard Hatch(rubbed his naked self against trucker Sue) & Ethan(I think thats his name...Soccer player) & I believe his real life girlfriend Jenna also won her season. So, I think the only guess we can make by knowing that James & Courtney are in the currently filming All-Stars is that Courtney must make it far if not win this season, because I don't see her as a fan favorite or a strong competitor. James on the other hand is a strong fan favorite and I could see why they would put his awesomeness into another round.

Also, PG going after James for not doing well in a challenge that she didn't do well in either was laughable. Karma is a B**** and she got what she deserved. I would love to see her or Courtney gone soon. Both are annoying and make the show hard to watch...

Thanks so much to delee for researching the rules on Wikipedia. I was wondering if the idols could be stolen from James. Now I know that they cannot be. Also to Tessa, I am having a hard time having a fav to cheer for. James was my favorite until he started getting a big head and taking for granted that he is just so way out ahead of the others. He does seem sort of unbeatable by having TWO immunity idols. And a shout-out to your cat, Jackie. Hope he is recovering.
