Happy Memorial Day! While many of you may be busy with BBQ's etc... Jackie knows the TV addicts among us would want a place to chat about the shows on tonight. So this will be the place to talk about So You Think You Can Dance, on tonight at 8PMEST/7PM Central. While Jackie may not be blogging this show once she recovers, in this short in-between period-- for her and TV -- she said I could go ahead and put up a place for y'all to talk about it.
Last year had probably the best group of talent (IMHO) thus far, and it really made it a pleasure (and sometimes a nail biter) to watch. I hope they will be able to maintain those higher standards this season. Here please tell what you thought of the audition process, if you have any favorites so far, and what you thought of tonight's two hour special.
(just heard from a commenter that tonight's show is a repeat of last week's auditions, and though I've looked on the website I can't tell... but just to give you a heads up).

I have been told there may be some dancers from this area, auditioning in DC.
Dang so far SYTYCD is a repeat, wonder if both hours!
delee, thanks for the heads up! Fortunately, I missed last Thursday to watch Ugly Betty / Greys, so this will be new for me.
How are the dancers? I really prefer to watch when the actual competition begins, and I feel the same about AI. Never have been a huge fan of the auditions, but will watch when nothing else is on that I really care about. Like tonight! lol
I'm with you on that dla -- I stopped watching AI auditions several seasons ago, then stopped watching AI totally. This year it looked like it was actually worth watching for the talent, and that they got better stylists, or a bigger budget for them... but I still then can't stand how long they draw everything out, and it's just so hard to watch Paula's pendulum swings...and better shows during that time slot just won out.
I recorded Ugly Betty but my cable glitched out through the whole thing... I got the gist of it but will have to see if I can watch the whole ep online. Not sure they offer it for this show.
I will probably tune in to SYTYCD once they have their finalists.
Ugly Betty is available on abc.com
Thanks Anon!
Well, I watched the first hour prior to The Bachelorette, and it was pretty OK for auditions...
Sydney, I have now moved to AI only during the top 6 or so, and I typically watch the final 4 minutes on the results show night to see who is booted, and that is about it! I did, however, really enjoy the finale this year, as they had great talent performing. It was also a kick to see performances like David Cook with ZZ Topp, etc. What a thrill for those kids! I typically do the same for the finale, and tune in for the last 5 minutes or so, but was happy I watched this year.
So far, looks like it could be a strong season on SYTYCD. Just keeps getting better and better each season.
I think it will be very hard to top last season's talent. IMO Danny is the best dancer I have ever seen. I have given up on the AI auditions, but still enjoy the dancing auditions. Typically, we don't get much of a glimpse of the potential finalists during the audition process. Looking forward to an entertaining season.
I'll just be glad when they get them all picked and the real dancing starts. I'm still watching the auditions tho. Haven't seen anyone so great yet. The two sets of ballroom dancers were good, but how will they do with other choreography?
Time will tell.
Hi everyone! Happy Wednesday!
I thought the auditions were fun to watch, and see some talent in the mix.
Any favorites yet?? Too early for me, but there are some good kids.
And then we have those that just can't help themselves from looking foolish... Whether they are after their 15 seconds of "fame", or they are simply refusing to accept reality, I don't get it. But I guess it gives us something to watch during the valley of summer TV. :)
Did anyone else watch?
I couldn't believe that we saw three seconds of the girl who Nigel said was "The best girl hip-hopper" he's ever seen on the show, but then we have 5 minutes of the Mickey Mouse Club guy, which was more hyped up than warranted, IMO.
I think they have some pretty good dancers who auditioned, but they're going to have a hard time even matching last year's dancers. Of course, I'll probably be surprised and can't wait for the actual choreographed numbers to start!
Looks like continued auditions next week, and then onto Las Vegas?
Sydney, My daughter loves, " So you think you can dance, I informed her you added to Jackies blog, shes thrilled.
Sydney, I wasn't interested in AI this year, as I'd been in previous years.
Thanks
