Survivor: Samoa Begins September 17

Although we're still very tied up with Big Brother and the live feeds, I feel I've been remiss not to mention that CBS has the new castaways on the Survivor: Samoa website.

As I have time, yet before the season starts, I'll be doing a breakdown on my thoughts of this latest group. It looks like an interesting bunch and there sure are a lot of them -- 20. Yikes! I can't help but wonder with that number if it's going to be multiples going home right in the beginning.

I'm including a video here with Jeff Probst's first impressions of the castaways. Now, keep in mind that this (supposedly) was shot in the beginning of the season and he had no clue who made it to the final two. Or three, whatever they're going to do this year.

Survivors ready?

I can't wait either. I can't remember the name but one of the girls is a native Delawarean. The only other Delawarian in a reality show was Dan, half the 3rd place frat brothers team from The Amazing Race 2 seasons ago.Of course if this girls b***h, get her out of there!!!

mammamroos, I haven't checked out the castaways yet, but I heard there were two from Salem. One from Renton, WA as well, so the Pacific NW is well represented.

At least I hope they represent us well!! I'm in Portland and will be cheering along with you!

Hi, Jackie! I haven't had much time to comment this season of BB, but I've been faithfully reading your updates. It's been a bad summer for us. Glad it's almost over.

I'm going to be watching Russell H. this season on Survivor, as he is the only one from Texas this year. (He's from your neck of the woods, Sydney! ) I hope he's not like Russell on BB.

There sure are a lot of contestants from the L.A. area this year. Hope they aren't a bunch of actor/model wannabees.

Another Natalie to deal with. Hopefully, this one has a heart.

I am sooo looking forward to Survivor. They sound like a good group. Erik may be a problem.

The great thing about the end of BB11 is the start of Survivor: Samoa. I haven't looked at the site yet, but I know it will be good. Survivor is my second favorite show behind BB. :)

Jackie,

I took a quick look at the castaways and this was what I came away with, 10 under 30, 10 over 30, and then each group of 10 divided 5 men and 5 women. So I think you might be right on the older vs younger, not that I think 30 is old.

Thank you again for all that you do for us here in the Big Brother and Survivor community that has been created here.

Yeah, now that TerryInCA turned me onto Survivor I can't wait for it to start again. I wonder if anyone is from SoCal this year?

I join the throngs of fans saying thank you to Jackie. Remember to thank her with your wallet, too!

The way they cast these shows now, probably 1/2 of them are from SoCal

Laurie, I remember one, Kelly, I think, was from San Diego.

There's a bunch from L.A. and vicinity.

I agree with everyone else, I am so looking forward to Survivor.

Jackie I agree with your assumption, multiple people going home in the beginning.
