Hey there!

Hey, Donna and Jackie.

Becky said...

Is it legal to take a picture with a cell phone or to make a drawing?

Becky said...

Small party tonight!

Jackie S. said...

I guess so as they could also take notes. It was definitely a bright idea!

Jackie S. said...

They've been getting smaller each week. :-(

Donna in FL said...

must be Becky, didn't say they couldn't take a picture or take notes.
I just love the snowboarders! They have great attitudes and work so well together!

meb said...

Yay! I'm back. Hey you guys. My boys are doing pretty good throughout this whole race.

Becky said...

Are they really thrilled to be scooping up elephant poop?

SueGee said...

good evening ladies! I guess this season is not inspiring crowds. I just hate the time difference

Welcome back, Meb! How do you feel.

Jackie S. said...

MEB! How are you?

On a side note, the sisters were a hoot with the elephants. If they go out tonight, they had their fun.

meb said...

I'm great! Just needed some R&R. :)

This is pretty good TAR. I like the elephants and reassembling the religious figures.

Just a dumb bleeding ulcer that snuck up on me Jackie. Tried to tell me two weeks ago, but they didn't find it then... they sure found it this weekend. It's all good though.

Go Snowboarders.

Becky said...

Am I the only one who thinks there was a scam with the taxi drivers and that woman?

Jackie S. said...

Zac's father is not impressing me at all although I like Zac!

MEB - So glad you're okay. R&R? Let's head back to Corolla! :-D

Jackie S. said...

Becky - Does seem to me that the taxi drivers are scamming (maybe the one with the help of that woman).

I'm lurking. Hello all.

Hi everyone. Just stopped by to take a dip in the pool and see how everyone is. I've only seen one episode of TAR this season and that was on our vacation which means I only half saw it. I think my LV gals are out of it, yes? How about the teachers, are they still in?

Good to see you, Marge. I was afraid I was going to have to fly out there and give you "the look" ...

meb said...

Jackie... please... let's go back to Carolla... R&R there is what I needed. Didn't get enough the first time. Laurie... flying out here would have been worth 'the look'... you just can't give it as good as I can. : )

I think they were being scammed to Becky.

Becky said...

Glad some more were able to join us. I feel sorry for the twins. They got scamed too. So did my team.

Becky said...

Jackie, I agree with you about Zack's father. Oh, darn, the skateboarders are in trouble.

Jackie S. said...

Laurie ... teachers? Do you mean Bill and Cathi, the older couple? They just arrived 2nd place at the Pitstop.

Sally said...

Hi everyone! This is the first episode of TAR I've seen this season, so I don't know any of the contestants. I agree that some of those cab fares seemed very high, and that father sure didn't impress, with his huge superiority complex. Other than that, the contestants seem likeable and positive for the most part.

Becky said...

Too bad for the twins. At least they had fun shoveling elephant dung. You know, IMHO there are no really unlikeable teams this year. Talk about a first!

Jackie S. said...

Sally - TAR usually gets the cream of the crop for reality contestants. I'm glad you enjoyed the show.

I'm sorry to see the twins go. I was just starting to like them! But I bet other teams wouldn't have gotten free rides!

Becky said...

See you guys on Wed. I am off for the night.

meb said...

Awww.. that's sad, but someone had to leave and I'm glad it wasn't the snowboarders. I don't dislike any of the teams either. That has been a first since I've started watching TAR.

Thanks again Jackie. See you guys next time!

Yay, glad to see Bill and Cathi up there in the pack tonight. Now I have to watch my recorded TAR. I usually can't make the Sunday night shows in real time. See everyone on Wednesday night for Survivor.

Yes, Jackie, that's who I meant. Now I remember she is/was a librarian. Or at least I think I remember that!

Watching the show now and the twins are trying to catch up to the bus.

PDX Granny said...

I'm watching the tail end now. I'm glad the addressed the part about the first class bus. I was thinking first class meant only for air fare, but I wasn't sure. Now I know. : )

I'm sorry to see the twins go. I liked them. I was really impressed that they didn't give up this time, even though they ran out of $'s and headed out walking because they didn't want to ask poor people for money.

The scripture wearing snowboarders are now my least favorite. Some of their comments at the Buddhist Temple I found insulting and the fact they just felt they had to express their discomfort rather than take the chance to say they want to respect the religion of others. Ugh!

I am also not found of that couple that keeps bragging about their world travel and also Laurence does not treat his son very well.

chris said...

I started liking the twins too, that was ashame. was hoping pompous father, and his son went home. or the team in seventh that are "dating" I do like how noone calls the other babe like in seasons past.
I really like the snowboarders and was glad they did not come in last.
did not like how the producers put their religious beliefs into the episode.

I really like the snow boarders and like that they put their religious beliefs into the episode. I thought their comments about their comfort level with the buddhist temple were very respectful, there have been other teams in the past that have made a much bigger deal about it than they did. As a Christian I understand their discomfort, but also agree that they should show respect for others and their beliefs even though they may not agree with them. This was the first week that I actually liked the Brother, Sister team, I liked what she said about respecting other religions, and if they continue without bickering I may actually root for them. I agree there really aren't any totally unlikable team. I was sad to see the twins go and thought they were really sweet tonight.

This has to be the first time in TAR history that we don't have a team with an extremely rude contestant. How refreshing! I appreciate the casting of "nice" people who for the most part treat others with respect.

In a perfect world, the father would treat his son with much more respect! His son seems like such a mature and respectful young man who deserves better treatment by his father.

I do enjoy the snowboarders. Unfortunately, they need to be a bit more enlightened when it comes to respect for religions that are different than their own. They are very proud of their faith, which should help them to understand how strongly others feel about their faith. Perhaps this trip and the feedback will open their eyes a bit. Still enjoy them as a team.

The twins were so enjoyable this episode! I could feel their delight with the elephants. They seemed to be the only ones who really appreciated the magnificence of these animals. They were such great examples of grace under pressure. They knew how far behind they were, yet remained kind towards each other and those they encountered. Oh, how I wish more reality show contestants were positive role models like this!!

Thanks Jackie as always for your blog.

Man I miss being part of this group. I was "nomad" four years ago. I moved to the west coast and now I watch the show 3 hours after most of you, so I feel a little removed from this group now. I do still pop by and read your comments so that I can know what will happen before the show airs here. I just watched this current episode of Amazing Race on the internet cuz I was busy last night. I love the teams on this season's show. They are all having fun and they all seem real cool and nice.

The good thing about reality shows is they usually have a mix of action, drama and suspense. Those are the reasons why shows like these are still in among viewers.
