The Amazing Race: April 21, 2013 Blog Party
The teams are off to Germany tonight and the show seems like it's actually starting on time for a change. Last week I wondered what they had on my GOLF network (included in my Comcast cable package) since CBS seems all involved in golf. During a channel surfing incident the other day ... I saw the GOLF channel was airing a Toronto Bluejays baseball game. Go figure.
As the show airs tonight, I'll update this entry with the major events. So, please refresh the page to get the latest. But, as always, the real fun is in the comments area. Come join the party!
The teams are all on the same train. Someone seems to have stolen Bates' bag while he was asleep on the train. He has his passport on him. Ford Fusion product placement gives them their next clues. After answering some questions, they're off to Berlin. They have to go to the top of a tall building and "base fly" to the bottom. Fun!
Detour - Train trials -- laying train tracks and keeping their train on track. Font follies -- carry huge letters to the museum.
Roadblock - Identify a JFK quote, go through a club funhouse-type labyrinth.
Bates and Anthony broke a letter, so are now running in last place in the detour. Max and Katie are already well into the Roadblock.
1. Max and Katie - Each won a new Ford Fusion (surprise, surprise)
2. Joey and Meghan -- I'm liking them more each leg. Good for them.
3. Caroline and Jennifer
4. Bates and Anthony
5. Mona and Beth, in a footrace with the boys ... non-Philimination!

Hi Jackie!! Thank you for hosting!!!
It's on time!!!!
Finally get to watch in real time. Hi Jackie and Penny!
Hey, Jackie, Vincent and Penny. Be back in a minute or two. I have to go check your Sunday pictures.
And I chime in with Penny saying thank you for hosting.
Hey, Monty.
Yes, on time! I have no real strong favorites this season. I enjoy the hockey guys as they are fun and can be entertaining. I'm liking the YouTube kids more -- they don't fight.
Why because it gets you further and then at the last minute, you can "knock" them out....
Hi Monty and Becky!!
Hey Becky. I'm not used to watching with all of you on Sunday evenings. I have left overs if anyone is hungry. Beef and noodles, mashed potatoes and broccoli, carrots and sugar snap peas.
I'm stuffed!
Hi everyone.
I hope Alex and his wife go home today. I really can't deal with their arrogance.
I'm on my mini "Pink Penny" because my cord to my Acer broke. I can't use it until I get the new cord. It's hard to get used to a smaller computer.
I wonder who took his bag? Hope he has his passport.
Or is his name Max?
My guys are long gone, but I do like Bates and Anthony.
Oh, no. They're too young to remember. Joey still cracks me up. I guess I like them too. :))
Bates and Anthony are my favorites.
Joey is hilarious.
I don't have any real favorites either, Jackie.
BTW, I brought BBQ chicken, brisket and sausage. It was cooked by my cousin's husband yesterday. GOOOOOD eatin'.
I get that a lot when following my brother anywhere. He always runs the yellow lights and leaves me there at the red. Ugh
The questions weren't all that hard. But I might feel that way because I'm older and remember living through it.
Same here, Jackie. You'd think that would be something significant to remember, but I'm around 20 somethings who don't even remember things that happened in the 1990's.
She's disappointed that the boys left them? HELLO!!! Who took off and gave us the, "We like them, but we are in the race to win" speech?
That looks like fun!
Joey's facial expressions make me laugh so hard.
Looks like a blast.
Joey is funny! The expression on his face as Meagan jumped was priceless. You would have thought it was him doing the jumping.
I LOVE trains. Just love them.
I think I like all the remaining teams except Max and Katie, and in the grand scheme of teams we've seen on this show throughout the years, they aren't so bad.
Nooooo I do not want Max in first place....
That task was a little bit dull.
I would be like a little kid in this train station!!!!
I'm trying to write comments for report cards while watching and commenting here -- I almost wrote about trains in the wrong place.
Even though the task was dull, it was fun for them. The letters task was just odd to me.
Well, it was dull until the V went crashing.
It is odd. I would love the train task.
I have Max and Katie in the pool. I can't say that I am that crazy about them.
They just whine. Other than that, they're okay.
With that Survivor peek, did anyone catch Phillup on the After Show? He was in full SAM dress... hat and all.
Oh no. Dang it! The guys look like they are in trouble. Figures...
I do not go in to Haunted Houses because of that. No thank you. LOL
I wouldn't like that... it reminds me of the SAW movies. Ewwww
Lol @ the conductor!
I hope it is a non-elim night, or Max and Katie get really, really lost.
SAW movies and Silence of the Lambs.
WOW
Monty, I didn't see Phillip. I wonder if it is on line?
I hope Anthony and Bates are not last.
Cool reward for first place.
They are just tooooooo young.
OMGosh, Joey thinks he is getting high or something.
It is, Becky. If you go to the CBS site, just wait for the After Show with Parvarti to pop up and click on it. Typical SAM but his outfit was fitting.
Hope it is a non-elim leg.
I thought all guys could do trains.
lol -- their train track was crazy!
Darn it. Looks like Anthony and Bates are in trouble. :-(
Here you go, Becky.

Thanks, Monty.
I loved Joey's reaction to the labyrinth!
Everything to them is an adventure. Good way to look at it.
Joey is a gem. He makes me smile every week. I usually rewind anything to do with Joey and his reactions to things.
Are they bother and sister?
This will be a race for the finish. Come on guys!!!
Keeping my fingers crossed for Bates and Anthony!!!
It is amazing that they have to ask the German's about a quote given by a US president!
yay!
Whew...
That's good, a non-elimination.
Thanks for hosting Jackie.
See everyone on Wed.
Whew the hockey guys are still in. I thought they might be goners.
Thanks, Jackie. See you Wed.
Well, Jackie thank you for hosting us. Give Vincent a hug for me. I'll see everyone Wednesday for Survivor.
So glad this started on time. Always great to converse with everyone.
Becky, how was the reunion, or is it next week?
Penny - Joey and Meghan are best friends.
Thanks, Jackie. See all of you fine folks on Wednesday.
Off to Celebrity Apprentice
Thanks for coming by, folks!
Thank you, Jackie. I didn't know what they were to each other. I guess I could have gone back and looked. LOL
