Big Brother 17: PoV Show Blog Party - July 1
I imagine, in addition to the Power of Veto comp, we're going to see the food comp. Gosh, that's not going to leave much time for all the drama that's been going down in the house! These hamsters came in swinging! Figuratively, that is.
As the show airs here on the East Coast, I will be updating this entry with the major events. Refresh the page to get the latest! As always, the real party is in the comments area. Come join in on the fun!
After a recap, Steve is lamenting his BoB loss. Johnny Mac is super-ecstatic about it. He's almost as pumped as he was in his Jeff interview. The main crew - James, Jason, Audrey, Da'Vonne - are working on gathering numbers for the Jace Backdoor plan. Now Meg is in. Clay is excited about working with James. The alliance is formed, although Da'Vonne is calling it temporary and shaky.
We got a blurred version of the Jace streaking. Trust me, you didn't miss much. I saw it on the live feeds unblurred. Nothing to see here, folks. Move along.
Austin, who says Jace is his boy, notices that Jace is getting on some people's nerves. You don't say!
Heh. Jace told James he shouldn't get blood on his hands. James's response? "I like blood. I use it like warpaint."
Jace and Austin approach Audrey. She hints that they need to get Jason out. Hmm.
Time to pick players for veto! James draws Becky. Jackie gets John. Steve picked Jason as Houseguest Choice. James chooses Austin to host the comp.
Da'Vonne walked around counting things and drew suspicion from Jeff, Clay and others. She picked up on the fact that Clay was hanging out with that crew. Now it's lead into a verbal kerfuffle between Da'Vonne and Clay. Da'Vonne breaks down a bit in front of Audrey. Audrey thinks that Da'Vonne is going to end up being a major liability to her (Audrey's) game. Meanwhile, after Audrey gets Clay to really apologize, Da'Vonne tells us that Audrey is a puppetmaster and she knows what she's doing.
Have Not time -- James has to name the first four Have Nots of the summer. He chooses Liz and Austin because they were saved, as well as Vanessa and Da'Vonne. It's a dentist office room, throwing Johnny Mac into seventh heaven.
PoV comp time -- Setting is Nosa Scotia. They have to dig for gold nuggets in giant noses with a letter which has a point value, then spell a word.
The words:
James - Lifeguards
Becky - closest
Jason - zones
Jackie - sludge? (I may have that wrong)
Steve - trombonists
John - boogers
Steve wins Power of Veto! His was worth 12 points. The others are all agog at his genius.
Audrey snags Shelli and Jeff into their alliance. That kind of irks a few that she's taken control. James, Jason and Jeff are a bit leery of Audrey's takeover.
Time for the veto meeting! (This should be priceless!) Jace thinks he's aligned with James. Ha.
Steve saves himself. James puts Jace on the block, said it's only his decision and he must look out for himself in the game. Austin is stunned and realizes people are lying to him. Jace is just sitting there in a daze and then tears up in the Diary Room. Too bad, so sad.
The BB Takeover will feature Kathy Griffin tomorrow night.

Hey Jackie!
Woohoo! Our first party in July... I brought hot dogs with all the trimmings and iced cold beer. Lots of variety - domestic and craft. Help yourselves.
Craft brew, please. Surprise me.
Hi Jackie, Monty and everyone else who joins in
How quickly things turn in the BB house. Da and Audrey are on opposite sides now, LOL
I have watermelon and fresh cherries
Hello BB People, I just feel I must say this that Jackie knew about the backdoor plan and didn't tell Jace and it's really shady!!!
Hey Jackie, Monty and everyone. I have a kicker headache, so will mostly lurk tonight.
Will they show the twins switching places tonight?
Hi Jackie and all!! Glad i get to join the party tonight!
Hi JonMD and Becky
Sliding Jackie a Nut Brown Ale English Brown Ale from Nashville, TN. Hey Lynn!
Hi Jon, Becky, Glen and Cheryl
Hi everyone! I'm looking forward to seeing Steve win his veto.
Word Lynn, Monty, Becky, Cheryl, Glenn and the rest of the castaways ha
Hi Cheryl and Sharon
I'm hoping for a twist this season -- early -- that looks something like this:
On vote night, before the vote but after the pleas, all contestants are ordered to the backyard into divided areas (so they can't see each other). Then they put headphones on, through which they can only hear Julie. Julie will tell them that they can vote to evice whoever they want except the head of household, veto winner, OR the two that had been on the block. THAT would stir up the game, and make me happy.
Hi Everybody
The beginning of the downfall of Jace! I thought it was cute when Ian and Zack did it, LOL
Half chuckles and crickets LOL
Hi uncartie
Hey Sharon S and uncartie!
HA, wa wa waaaaaa
Here comes the fake alliance
Hi folks!
Hi Joe
Hi lynn..monty
Do not any of these fools even attempt to think of an alliance name maybe before they come in to the house.
cloud town, that's like where my little flippin pony lives
Hi Joe!
So far, I have no favorites. Of course, I haven't been all-in on this season yet.
I would go bat crap crazy being in the same house as Jace!
Hey Jace how about "one week wonder"
I think we'll see a lot of jace whining 2 night
T
LOL @ Jon, like what's his name's Angels from a few seasons back. The one who hooked up with Porsche the first night and was the first one evicted? :)))
He is gonna join the first out the door league ha
Jace has a lot of growing up to do. Without a bunch of other bad acting frat boy types to encourage his poor behavior, he has a chance. Maybe he will learn from reading the internet on Friday?
Hi! Everyone. Jace was acting crazy.
TECHNOTRONIC lol classic
Did anyone read James' blog? He didn't say a whole lot, but what he did say was grammatically correct (which I find very rare in BB history).
I kike Johnny Mac... he's super low key
Hi Joe
Hi! Everyone. Jace was acting crazy.
Jace is a such a baby
I know Monty he could be the wild card down the line.
Lol
Da and Jason were still counting everything yesterday studying for the next HOH.
I love BB so much lol
Hi Everyone, Happy to be back for new season of BB.
I wish they would put time and date stamp in the corner like in sports broadcasts
Clay is another in a long line of people who have never seen BB but thinks he's an expert at the game.
Ok, is it me, or she just could have said I was counting things, or looking for someone and this whole thing would have been nothing ha.
i agree Jon...thats what i thought.
Exactly, Jon!!
i wanted to like day...but she s playing to hard to fast and Audrey should know loose lips sink ships..never good..haha
Man all these mofo's playin HARD this year out the gate.
Sharon S - I was also very impressed by James's grammatical skills and writing ability on his HoH blog. I believe it's the first well-written one I've ever seen! I didn't really expect it from him.
They both are, Cheryl. Da and Audrey both want to be the queen bee in the house.
I guess when there's no TV, people create their own drama. LOL.
I don't know if it's the inherent paranoia of the environment, or if it's the age group. Somehow, everyone made a huge issue out of nothing.
I mean, she could have said "I'm just investigating the house, or counting things, and who would have cared?" And then either of the guys could have just said, "we just wondered if something was going on." Instead, they all tried to lie about nothing and then throw out their righteous indignation that the other one was lying to them. LOL.
Anti-southern bigotry, Jackie. If he had a Connecticut accent, you probably wouldn't be surprised by his writing skills. jk
What does he do in real life?
OK, what sophomore dreamed up a "digging for gold in the nose" competition?
Jason cracks me up in the DR and on the feeds.
LOL, Joe!
Did Johnny Mac just go in to Bobcat a bit ha
Joe -- not so! I teach in CT -- I'd be shocked if people his age here could write that well!
I think I would loose all brain function in the house and end up spelling CAT
Go Steve!!
Hahaha, Johnny had the best. :)))
Ha Jon is funny..lol
John OMG Boogers????????????????????
I really like Steve. Boy, that little man is smart.
Hello everyone. =)
Problems with internet speed today so can't stream the show, will have to wait another 20 minutes to watch it. The price of living way out in the country. =)
I will just have to relax by the pool with a brew while waiting and read about it.
Jon, I would would be the same way. I would try to spell CAT and misspell it!
Steve is from the next town over from where I grew up. He's doing the Northern NY people proud!
Hi David. Speaking of spelling... I had acolyte in the spelling bee (5th grade) and spelled ACOLITE. Even worse, I'm Catholic :(((
I was part of a quiz team in high school that only competed at the local (hour away) PBS station. I got stage fright so bad, I don't think I answered a single question. I'm pretty sure if you asked me what Mary's little lamb had done, I wouldn't have been able to tell you. THere's no way I would be able to participate in any competition with millions of people going to see it!
I really like Jason, Steve & James. They seem to be almost regular people compared to the showbiz wanna bees
Joe - James is a retail clerk, grew up in a boys home and, if he has any education past high school level, it wasn't mentioned. Plus, a generational thing seems to demand numerous exclamation points, text shorthand and such. He had none of that in his HoH blog post.
Hi David..glad you made it!
Was this the am ninja meeting?
They must have installed a spell checker
Shades of Devin... ewww
Audrey the new Devon 2.0
You got it James! That's exactly what happened this week.
No toooooo pushy
A combination of Devin and Amanda, ewwwww.
weird secret book club - ha!
I think it would have been easier if she just told whoever was not in the group to just leave the room lol
What is her problem? She is working it waaaaay too hard
that girl is tripping
MYLANTA she is playin HARD lol
Audrey is working her way right out the door.
She has been Joe and it all caught up with her yesterday.
Sharon, I teach college in NY, and few of my students can write. The best papers I got last year were from my MALAYSIAN students!!! LOL.
But there is a North prejudice against Southern accents. I was mostly jk, but it does exist.
Haha Jon
Here is where Steve stabbed Jace in the back, how dare he not stay on the block.
Please don't say that ever again, James!
Anyone who has ever watched ANY reality show that allows players to vote out other players (Survivor, BB, etc.) would know better than to play that aggressively so early. Very few people have ever gotten away with it. ED did. Russell Hantz almost did. But usually you are more likely to be the first person out. She clearly is not a fan...either that or she is a compulsive control freak.
Joe, I hear you! The clearest, most grammatically correct writing I've ever seen in any of my 9th graders was a student here for a year while his parents were on a sabbatical from Norway.
James...way to take the heat...but i guess he wanted to make sure Audrey new he wasnt doing her bidding.
Ugh, there it was again. Can BB officially ban the phrase AT THE END OF THE DAY????
Audrey has those Bette Davis eyes
I think nerves and excitement got to Audrey. She was having fun manipulating all the pieces in her little world -- like playing barbies!
It is what it is Monty lol
Thanks for hosting Jackie. Try and get some rest.
James now officially Caleb 2.0
Thanks Jackie. Not sure if I will be able to join you tomorrow night or not.
Sounds like a fun party show tomorrow night. Thanks, Jackie!
Good time 2night guys.
Thanks for hosting Jackie!
I am starting to like James alot..willing to get blood on his hands and own it.
Thanks Jackie!!! Everyone have a good rest of the night!!! See you guys Thursday :)
Jackie.... Thanks for letting us hang out with you! Goodnight all and see ya'll tomorrow night!
Thanks for coming by!
Thanks Jackie. =)
Everyone have a good evening.
Audrey is back at it with James once again dredging up who did what, who lied, who said what, yada, yada, yada. She's like the Everyready Bunny of gossip and denial. We're in for a long night -(
Listening tot he conversation about the Southern Accent and prejudice. When I was stationed in Germany, I decided to take an English class at an on-base college. Our teacher was an Australian.
She would pick on me about my NY accent; but she actually stated in front of the class that the accent that drove her the battiest was the American Southern accent. She actually said Americans were bad at grammar, but those from the South were the worst in her view. She'd say, aside from not being able to understand them, their grammar was horrific.
Here best were from the Scandanavian countries.
Thank you for blogging Jackie. When I got home, I came right here to read the blog. I really do appreciate it!!!
