The Amazing Race Blog Party - April 22, 2016
The show is starting! As it airs here on the East Coast, I'll post the major happenings live. Refresh the page to get the latest! However, as it always is ... the real party is in the comments area. Please join in on the fun! (And bring tasty beverages and snacks!)
The Magnificent Margo (and Mom) have made the random picks for the blog pool and here they are ...
Tyler & Korey-P- Paula Bell, Bruce & Ray, SueGee
Burnie & Ashley- Buzzmaam, Delee
Sheri & Cole- Donna in FL, Merrilee, Becky
Zach & Rachel- Sharon N, Nana in NW
Dana & Matt- Grandi, Nicklepeed
Kurt & Brodie- David, Ed in OH
Philiminated:
Marty & Hagan- Jackie, Willie J
Cameron & Darius- chrob61, PDXGranny
Jessica & Brittany- Donna in AL, Monty924
Erin & Joslyn- Brian, Margo, Rbennie
Scott & Blair- Meb, Jennasmom
Tonight we'll see if Sheri and Cole can make it through a Speed Bump. I'm worried!
Ready to race?
Teams are off to Bali in Indonesia. All teams are on the same flight.
Once they get their clue, they have to wait until morning. They can search for the next clue spaced out in 15 minute interviews. They must deliver two separate offerings to different places --- it's fruit basket ensembles on their heads. The second offering is SNAKES!
Then they're off past the Bat Temple!
Roadblock -- Making salt from the ocean to finish. Who's worth their salt?
Meanwhile, Sheri and Cole hit the Speed Bump. They have to figure out a guy on a bike is a Meals on Wheels and deliver meals.
Sheri and Cole finished the Speed Bump and now they've bypassed Rachel and Zach in the Roadblock. It involved carrying heavy loads of water and Rachel is the only woman who did it. She's struggling.
A second Roadblock - Build a kite and go fly a kite! These are giant kites. The Alpha Team is using Brodie as Kurt used up his Roadblocks. Only Burnie and Ashley know that the Alphas have used up their Express Pass.
Pit Stop
1. Tyler and Korey - won $5,000 each
2, Burnie and Ashley
3. Sheri and Cole
4. Dana and Matt
5. Brodie and Kurt
6. Zach and Rachel -- Philiminated

~~~~SPLASH~~~~ Hi Jackie. Thank you for hosting us. Greatly appreciated.
Hi Jackie and Penny. I made it this week... last week I fell asleep on the couch, LOL
Hi!
Hi Monty. Well, all on the same plane. That puts a hamper in a lead. LOL
Rooting for Sheri and Cole on this leg. Last week was hard to watch and I felt horrible for them.
Good, I'm glad son and mother got first group. It helps them.
Howdy everyone!! I'm a bit late as I just stabbed myself with an artichoke. Finger bled like crazy!!
Just brought some cheeses and crackers tonight. Haven't cooked a thing yet tonight (except for the artichokes)
SueGee from the LeftCoast
Sheri & Cole are going to need some luck tonight...
Hey SueGee... I love artichokes, and those burrs can me a bitch!!
First time I had them was in the 4th grade at my friends house. I thought her parents were so cool because they cooked things I'd never had or tried at my house.
I can't do snakes... NO WAY
I'll save some for you Monty. They actually have them at the local Farmer's Market and they make me drool. Getting really sweet fresh giant strawberries from the same region, so getting some rain is helping in visible ways too
Those snakes are so pretty. I know, many do not like snakes. These are harmless.
I have a photo of me holding one of the yellow boas like they have. Perhaps not as big, but the same kind of snake.
That's a huge snake. Iridescent. My daughter raised 3 snakes. My husband doesn't like them much, but I helped take care of them, so they never bothered me. Spiders are another story.
Snakes would not bother me as much as that rat palace they went to in India one season. Creepy
Burmese Pythons are the largest. I always thought the white/yellow ones were beautiful, but they get waaaaaay too huge.
My brother used to have snakes. The other brother had rodents (hamsters, gerbils). I myself have always had a cat (or two).
I feel so sorry for them. I don't want them to get eliminated. Darn. Maybe one of the other teams will have a problem. Not my pool team though. LOL
SueGee, I don't even mess with the heart. I just like scraping the petals with me teeth, LOL
I have a friend who owns a python or boa constricter, can't remember what it is but it got out of the pillow case he had it in inside his car and crawled up under the dashboard. Took him two days to find it. Still alive and all was well. I just couldn't do it.
Jackie, when we went to my parents one time, we had to bring the snakes with us. We were down stairs and heard one of my parents' cats meowing really loud. We went up stairs and the cat had knocked the top of of our ball python's cage and she got out. The cat was trying to get her. Shakira was not big, but boy she had her mouth open trying to strike. I had to take a towel and throw it over her to catch her. Those teeth were big. LOL
Wow. Thank God Kurt survived cancer. Wow.
Sheri: I don't everyone to know what we just ate! LOL
They are not slimy. Snakes are very soft actually. It's just I didn't not like feeding live mice to them. 2 would take defrosted froze mice, but our ball python would not, it had to be live. I hated that.
I don't think I would want a pet that wants to eat another pet...just sayin'
I think I will stick to cats and dogs
Nooooooooooooooooooo. Matt and Dana can't be last. They're my pool pick!!
Sheri is such a great sport. I love her!!
SueGee, that's why when my daughter left home, we got rid of the snakes. I'll stick with my dogs.
Why didn't he do the task instead of her? That's hard.
Do they know exactly what the challenge is, I mean the specifics before they choose? I'm wondering because he should have done this.
They get clues to the task, but not much more. And then there are rules to make sure each of the teams do half the tasks...
I knew about the half the tasks, just wasn't sure if they knew the full details of the challenge. I can remember some teams getting tripped up toward the end of the race because one member was out of road blocks and the other had to do the rest.
Love Cole, too. I hope Cole and Sheri make it through this leg.
That would be soooo fun!
I do, too Monty.
Those kites are awesome
That would be terrible if the boys were last.
I've never seen a kite that huge before. Wow. How cool.
I agree Penny. They've been out in front for most of the race and to go out like this would be horrible.
Crap, I did not want to see the boys or Matt and Dana last.
Glad that Sheri and Cole are not last. So, that's good.
Crap, my team will be last. Crap. Oh well.
Yep!!
The boys have an advantage here. I think they're stronger as far as the rowing goes.
Oh wait. I didn't know Dana and Matt already got there.
COME ON BOYS
Just by the hair of there chiny, chin, chin!
ooops, their
Cool walking the plank.
Jackie, thank you for hosting us. I will not be here Wednesday or Friday of next week. I work. Everyone, have a wonderful weekend!!
And, I forgot to add, Jackie, scratch Vincent's ears for me! Night everyone.
I'm so happy for Sheri and Cole! I wonder if Brodie is going to be as bad in future Roadblocks. They should have switched up. Now, if he screws up, they may not last.
Thanks for coming by!
Night everyone!! See you Wednesday!!
Double U turn. Noooooooooo! Good things do not happen with double U turns
Thanks Jackie. Everyone have a great weekend!!
Just checked in to see the result for tonight.
Rats ratus... I liked Zach and Rachel. :(
Hi Everyone. Looks like my pool pick just barely survived this. I think if there are more mental challenges ahead they could be in serious trouble with Brody having to do them.
