BB18: Live Feeds into Wednesday Evening - July 6

Aw, how cute!

Here's the latest from inside that Big Brother House of Whispering Weasels:
  • I know that due to the aired show schedule, the comps and action are pretty much back to back, then we have days of doldrums. But, my goodness, it seems to be a longer stretch of doldrums each week!
  • BB let them sleep in until around 11am their time today. Here, half the day is shot by then!
  • Then, most proceeded to take naps during the day, too.
  • Paulie, informed by Corey that Frank was using him, is coming up with various alliances scenarios sans Frank. He also wants to leave Michelle out.
  • James, in talking to Nicole, hopes that America doesn't label them dumb for not sticking to a returnees alliance.
  • Almost all talking against Frank who were previously with Frank say pretty much the same thing ... he's playing too hard too fast and it's obvious that, even this early in the game, he's only playing for his own goals.
  • Paulie thinks it might not be in their best interest to target Frank immediately.
  • The latest new alliance kind of grouping is Da'Vonne, Zakiyah, Paulie, Corey and Nicole.
  • Of course, Nicole talks to James all the time.
  • But they don't seem to realize that.
  • Nothing has really changed about the EVictoring this week -- just lots of talks about mistrusting and what if situations.
  • Then again, James also talks to Frank. He went and told him the 8-Pack is falling apart into splinter groups.
  • Gah!
  • Frank still has his sights on Tiffany going out next week.
  • We'll see.

No girl over seven needs to wear a pink bow

Aw, how cute! Okay, strategy talk ...

BB18: Power of Veto Show Blog Party - July 6

As the show airs here on the East Coast, I'll be constantly updating this entry. Refresh the page to get the latest news! As always, the real party is in the comments area! Come join in on the fun!

Recap time! What a shock and a surprise.

To immediately after the Road Kill nominee reveal ... they all know Victor made the nomination. Tiffany says she doesn't know who to trust. I say TRUST NO ONE. Victor is trying to put the focus on Tiffany going home.

Tiffany cries. Michelle consoles her. Da'Vonne consoles her. Paulie consoles her. She cries some more and is super paranoid. Nicole consoles her. She cries some more. Now she's starting to tick some of her own allies off.

Bronte thinks if she lays low, it will keep the target off of her. I don't think Bronte can lay low with that voice!

Frank advises Tiffany NOT to win the PoV because Victor would name the replacement. After all, they want Victor to BE the replacement.

Da'Vonne and Frank kind of want Tiffany out now ... but not NOW, Victor first!

Paul finds out that Victor told Paulie and Frank not to trust them. Now he needs to backpedal a bit. He tells us he's cutting his ties to Victor and playing for his own game from now on.

Time to pick players for the veto comp -- Paulie, Paul, Bronte and Tiffany will play. Paul pulls two chips. Da'Vonne. Paul's chip gets pulled, so he must pick. He picks Zakiyah. Victor is in shock. He was sure he was going to be picked. Paul plays dumb when Victor tells him they both could be safe if he (Victor) played and won PoV.

They do NOT want Tiffany to win; anyone else wins and Victor goes up. Tiffany wins and all that happens with Victor is that he names a replacement nominee. He's not bright about the game, but he's not going to put himself on the block!

Veto comp -- giant smelly toes all over. It's the Toe-zarks. They have to dig fungi through toe jam to retrieve letters to spell a word. A nasty version of the inevitable Technotronics type word game.

Paul 9 points
Tiffany - 10 Points with Twinkling
Da'Vonne - 9 points with redemption
Zakiyah - 6 points duration
Bronte - powerful, but not enough at 10 points
She's now in the lead because she finished before Tiffany
Paulie - sustainability - 10 points, he rang in before Bronte, so ...

PAULIE wins the PoV!

Da'Vonne is upset because Tiffany tried to win the PoV and did NOT throw it.

Now the show is editing it to look like Tiffany might be in trouble.

Paulie tells Victor that, because he chose Zakiyah to play instead of Victor, he's taking him off the block.

Back to fun, James hides in a trash can in storage and scares Nicole.

More seeds being planted about the possibility of Tiffany going.

Time for the Veto Meeting ...
Paulie lets all three talk. He saves Paul who had talked about the power of friendship. He puts Victor up, saying that he can't forget that he (Paulie) almost was out last week because of him.

BB18: Live Feeds into Wednesday Morning - July 6

It's too bad the cars don't drive!

Here's the latest from inside that Big Brother House of Atrocious Adolescents:
  • Da'Vonne has another Frank gripe -- she told Zakiyah that Frank told Paulie about the 8-Pack.
  • I'm personally a bit lost about why Paulie was never included in it at the start as he was their pawn last week.
  • Victor thinks he might just be paranoid, but he has a feeling he might be going home.
  • Heh.
  • Don't worry, Victor. You won't be going home.
  • Come July 22, you'll have your chance to fight to get back in. You'll just be going to sequester until then.
  • THEN you might go home.
  • James told Corey he's tired of throwing comps. He's only been doing it due to the team thing and the targets being on his team.
  • I myself wish they'd get rid of the team aspect. I know it can't last all season. It might as well go away NOW.
  • James pointed out to Michelle and Corey that Frank wants everybody else to do his dirty work for him so he "doesn't get blood on his hands."
  • Well, duh.
  • Why do all these women wear hair extensions in the house? Michelle accidentally washed hers and Frank likens them to dead rats.
  • Of course, these are women who wear make-up to bed. @@
  • While Frank's own people think he's playing too hard and is sketchy, thus putting a target on him, he continues with his Tiffany talk. He really wants her out next.
  • Will he get his way?
  • Paulie told Zakiyah he's been observing everyone and taking a lot in.
  • I think he's actually playing the game smarter than his brother. But he has no Derrick as a foil.
  • Oh, Corey ... it's a good thing Frank told you not to microwave that metal cup!
  • Lots of the same old, same old. Much of Frank's alliance say they want him out, but who would be willing to act on it?
  • They're all asleep as I post this.

BB18: Live Feeds into Tuesday Evening - July 5

Just chillaxin'

Here's the latest from inside that Big Brother House of Doldrums Dullards:
  • Not long after they got up this morning, it seemed each hamster was called briefly into the Diary Room.
  • They said it was for one question before BB shut down their talk about production.
  • Bridgette told Bronte not to trust Tiffany.
  • That seems to be a common thread in the house as of late -- don't trust Tiffany.
  • Zakiyah is mad because Frank slapped her butt -- Tiffany and Natalie told her she needs to shut that down right now.
  • Frank is souring with me a bit. I don't care for that stuff.
  • Meanwhile, Victor is trying to improve his behavior.
  • it's most likely going to be a matter of too little, too late.
  • Da'Vonne is sure that someone will be returning. Frank says that never works out because they're always targeted and out the first week back.
  • I don't know ... didn't Judd stay a number of weeks?
  • Frank told Zakiyah that both he and Paulie want her with them at the end.
  • We'll see about that.
  • Paulie got his HoH camera. Fun, fun, fun.
  • Lots of napping went down today.
  • Zakiyah and Da'Vonne have had just about enough of Frank.
  • Although he hasn't claimed to be the Messiah in the house, he's certainly trying to rule the house.
  • Nicole doesn't think the majority of their alliance would be okay with sending Frank home even though he's got issues.
  • Victor thinks he has a chance to stay.
  • People are lying to him.
  • And, he's gullible enough to believe it.
  • The Oust Frank Movement spread as the day went on.
  • Even Victor has a hook for it -- if he stays and wins HoH, he'll put Frank and Paulie on the block.
  • Corey likes Frank. He's not in on the Movement.
  • On the other hand, the other nominee (Tiffany) will also go after Frank.
  • Although the Oust Frank Movement talk monopolized much of the day, that's not happening this week.
  • This week, it should be Victor out.
  • And, it might even be unanimous as they've talked Paul into voting "with the house."
  • I don't like the voting with the house.
  • Make them stop!

Paul is playing smarter than his allies

Here's the latest from inside that Big Brother House of Silly Sycophants:
  • The big news of the day yesterday was the PoV meeting where the expected happened: Paul was taken off the block by Paulie and Victor became the renom.
  • Backdoor Victor Plan officially in progress.
  • The feeds were blocked for an indoor holiday party for the hamsters.
  • Traditionally, the Have Nots can eat during such things.
  • Da'Vonne says she'll go along with the EVictor Plan although it's not in her best interest. She wants people to back her when she goes after Frank.
  • She stayed up late into the night braiding her gazillion braids.
  • Frank wants either Bronte or Tiffany out next week while Da'Vonne wants him out.
  • Hmm.
  • Victor actually thinks he's getting a lot of support in his campaign to get folks to evict Tiffany instead of him.
  • Tiffany admitted to being a lesbian, not bi-sexual as labeled by the show.
  • Paul told Da'Vonne she reminds him of Michonne from The Walking Dead. I have to say that, at times, she can be a bit reminiscent of Michonne. Just don't hand her a sword in the house!
  • Da'Vonne is a huge Michonne fan, so that set well with her.
  • Yawnsers ... nothing much else happened report-worthy.
  • They're still asleep now.

BB18: Live Feeds into Monday Afternoon, PoV renom - July 4

I love to screen cap odd expressions.

Here's the latest from inside that Big Brother House of Crushed Dreams:
  • Right now they still have the yard open. I expect that to end before dusk. Whoops, the yard is now closed.
  • The PoV ceremony went down much earlier than I thought it would.
  • However, the result was exactly as expected -- Paulie took Paul off the block, replacing him him with Victor.
  • Surprisingly, Victor has been taking it well. He said he was expecting it.
  • Maybe some of the talks in which Paul hinted at it sunk in.
  • Maybe somebody gave him warning.
  • I don't know.
  • Victor did tell Paul he "called it."
  • Well, that's because he knew about it beforehand. But, he wisely didn't tell Victor those details.
  • Paul thanked Paulie for taking him off the block (although he knows it's because they want to backdoor Victor).
  • He's probably thinking he's lucky not to be Victor!
  • James and Victor have patriotic tank tops on.
  • Frank continued his anti-Tiffany talk with Da'Vonne.
  • She pretty much dismissed him, reminding him they have the numbers and that's all that matters right now.
  • Victor is trying to steer the focus from him or Bronte onto Tiffany.
  • He told Da'Vonne he was the Road Kill winner who put Tiffany on the block.
  • As if she didn't already know that!
  • Nicole said something which struck me as my own thoughts -- Victor is so handsome until you see how cocky he really is.
  • Not much going on. They're probably stuck in the house for the duration of the day due to the holiday doings on the lot.

Comfort is lacking, methinks

Looking to see who's coming

Victor after the fact

BB18: Live Feeds into Monday Morning - July 4

Will things said catch up to Da'Vonne?

Here's the latest from inside that Big Brother House of Schemin' Demons:
  • It should be a relatively quiet day today.
  • If the past is any indicator, they'll spend much of the day in indoor lockdown due to 4th of July doings on the show lot.
  • I do expect, since it didn't happen yesterday, that the PoV meeting will take place.
  • I fully expect that Paulie will take Paul down and get Victor in place for the backdoor.
  • He can't take Tiffany down as she's the Road Kill nominee -- it would be Victor naming the replacement.
  • Of Paul and Bronte, it probably seems like Paul is easier to work with although he's a target, too.
  • But it's still Victor with the HUGE target on him due to his allegiance to Jozea, his physical threats and his controlling kind of attitude.
  • Nothing of much consequence happened in the overnight hours.
  • I expect the real fireworks to start when Victor gets named as the renom!
  • The girls seem to be getting closer. At least when we're talking Da'Vonne, Zakiyah, Michelle.
  • Of course, Bronte and Bridgette have been two for the price of one since the get-go.
  • Da'Vonne has been turning on Frank.
  • She and her gals also think that James is getting too chummy with Natalie.
  • So much for the returnees sticking together!
  • They also don't trust Tiffany.
  • BB gave them alcohol again.
  • Nicole told the girls that Frank wants Tiffany out more than he wants Bronte out.
  • Of course, this week it's still Victor. They're talking future order.
  • Da'Vonne thinks it will be easy to get Corey out when the time comes.
  • Since he's such an inconsequential player, probably so. He's friendly with all, is loyal to Nicole (his first friend in the house) and he's a rather mellow kind of guy in the house. He's the type who could possibly go completely under the radar until near the end.
  • Natalie and Bridgette think they're floaters and not a threat to anyone.
  • Nicole also has suspicions regarding Frank.
  • Paul tried to hint to Victor that he may be in trouble. He told Victor that he thinks Paulie won't take Tiffany down because that wouldn't make sense. But he thinks Paulie might take Bronte down.
  • Victor claims he wants to remain thinking positive.
  • Well, that positive attitude will most likely be blown within the next twelve hours or so.
  • James flirted more with Natalie. I doubt any of this will go any further than the Meg/James "romance" did.
  • Frank had a bit of a hissy fit when James took pizza out of the oven before he (Frank) thought it was ready. He frightened Nicole with the reaction.
  • James isn't really frightened of much at all.
  • Da'Vonne told us she thinks Frank is her biggest competition. Hmm.
  • All are still asleep as I post this.

BB18: Live Feeds into Sunday Evening - July 3

Why am I here again?

Here's the latest from inside that Big Brother House of Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap:
  • I've decided I couldn't have a bed like the one in HoH with the fishtank above the headboard. I'd sit and watch the fish all night instead of sleeping.
  • Sundays are rather lazy in the BB house.
  • BB let them sleep in.
  • I've noticed this crowd, although several stayed up late last night, aren't huge stay up until dawn types.
  • Paul says he smokes, but I haven't seen anyone smoke in this crew.
  • James says he wants some of the "blame" for putting Victor on the block when they do the PoV meeting.
  • I think it's more like he wants some of the "credit" for doing it. After all, they did nearly come to blows.
  • Paulie and some of the 8-Packers are very leery of Bridgette. Frank seems to be the only one who actually trusts her.
  • They were once again allowed into the backyard.
  • Just judging on the various workouts, it's Paulie who's the best fit in the house.
  • Frank and Da'Vonne really want Tiffany out (and Paulie in the 8-Pack as the replacement).
  • While Tiffany is on the block as the Road Kill nominee, it's not likely this will be the week they make the move. It should be a Backdoor Victor.
  • There was some excitement when a banner plane flew by reading, "Will you marry me?" Chances are very high it had absolutely nothing to do with BB.
  • Frank started the rumor that it read, "Will you marry me, Z?"
  • Heh.
  • Michelle cried over something, maybe stress. James consoled her. He's good at that.
  • Frank doesn't want Corey to win HoH for a few weeks so they can get Tiffany out.
  • Hmm.
  • Bronte's on the block this week. But she's more likely to be a target next week ... if some people have their way.
  • A whole lotta nothing going on.
  • No PoV meeting as of this writing.
  • So, Victor still thinks he's in it to win it.

BB18: HoH Reveal, Nominations Episode Blog Party - July 3

As the show airs here on the East Coast, I'll be constantly updating this entry. Refresh the page to get the latest news! As always, the real party is in the comments area! Come join in on the fun!

Gee, a quick recap for a change! They must have a lot of stuff to cram into the hour-long episode.

The HoH comp continuation um ... continues. Frank wants Victor to think he and Paulie want to work with him. But, in reality, he wants Victor out of there this week. Paul thinks Da'Vonne and Zakiyah are moving too slow. Tiffany deliberately comes down because she thinks Corey can go faster without her. Freakazoids out of the game. James sneaky throws it because he wants another team to win. Frank says they're handing it to Paulie.

Yep, Paulie is the new HoH!

Oh, geez ... Victor, in the DR, is almost to tears about Jozea being voted out. However, Paul realizes that he's going to have to work to repair his "image" with the rest of the house. James wants Victor and Bronte on the block. He advises Natalie to keep her cool.

Victor, who blatantly wanted Paulie voted out last week, tries to influence Paulie that the girls need to go. Well, not Bronte. He wants Bronte to stay.

Meanwhile, Paulie wants to get closer to Paul, even to the point of using him as a pawn on the block. He wants Paulie to betray Victor. And, Paul sees through it and believes he just might have to go along with Paulie's plan to get Victor out of the house.

We're into a James flirting segment. Cute.

Time for nominations! Paulie nominates Paul, then Bronte. Paul, wasn't sure where you're at, Bronte the same. Both part of the situation where someone was coming after him.

He tells us that he wants to backdoor Victor.

Bronte no longer trusts any of the boys. Paul knew it was coming. He says the better beard will win.

BB ROAD KILL time! Returning souvenirs, six items which add up exactly 18 dollars. Apparently, they don't have to figure in tax!

The secret reveal of the winner was done through tackle boxes once again. Victor is the winner of Road Kill!

So, what does Victor do? He runs and tells Paulie and then Frank! Silly boy. He thinks he's showing Frank and Paulie he can work with them. He tells Paul and Paul advises him not to tell anyone else. Victor knows better, though. Did I say Silly Boy? I meant it. Victor asks Paulie who should go up.

The Road Kill nominee is ... TIFFANY.

Backdoor Victor plan still in motion.

BB18: Live Feeds Overnight into Sunday - July 3

Beauty fades; obnoxious might be forever

Here's the latest from inside that Big Brother House of The Ants Come Marching In:
  • I don't have a heck of a lot for you.
  • As I mentioned in the last update, Paulie won the Power of Veto, thus his plan should go down as planned.
  • What was that plan?
  • Backdoor Victor, of course.
  • Earlier he thought he'd warn Victor just before the ceremony.
  • Now he thinks he probably won't.
  • He sincerely wants what will make it easiest for the rest of the house.
  • Victor has a temper.
  • As of right now, Victor doesn't have a clue. He doesn't even know what a backdoor is.
  • Well, he probably knows what one in a house is. But we're talking a backdoor plan as in reference to Big Brother!
  • Paulie plans to take Paul off the block and replace him with Victor.
  • Lots of small talk.
  • They've been in indoor lockdown overnight due to clean up from the PoV comp.
  • It was a messy spelling a word comp. Technotronics!
  • Ah, well. Even though a group stayed up really really late (for a change), it was mostly small talk. Frank, Zakiyah and Paulie talked about how unrealistic it is for Jozea and Victor to think the show will bring Hollywood knocking at their doors.

Talk about under the radar ...

Off Topic: That Was the Week It Was - July 3, 2016

Good morning! Since it's Sunday morning, it's time for my weekly off television topic reflection on the week gone by in both words and photographs I've taken along the way. If you're here for Big Brother news, everything I have for you can be found at this link. I'll be posting another live feeds report tonight as well as live-blogging the aired show. But this ain't that. This post is a year-round regular "feature" while Big Brother is a summer obsession. Or, something like that.

I'm finally on a staycation, my last one until September. From what I can see, a heat wave is due to be taking up a good half of my week. Grr. I'm not a summer person unless we're talking staying inside with air conditioning. That's what I'll probably do for a lot of the week. I have the BB live feeds, some other summer TV shows, a couple of new books to read and plenty of diversions.

My three and a half day work week this past week seemed to last a good ten days. I believe I'm actually pining for the day I can finally retire. Yeah, you heard me ... pining.

About the only good thing work-wise which happened this past week is that I received my catalog to choose my recognition award. Every five years of employment at the company gets to choose an award. Since I'm up there in years, I have some pretty decent choices. The last time (five years ago), I got a flat-screen LED television. This year, if I had a car, I'd be tempted by the cool kayak. If I had a lawn, I'd be tempted by a very nice charbroil gas grill or the smoker/grill/roaster one. There are a few cameras catching my attention, a larger HDTV set, a home entertainment system, a quality cookware set ... oh, decisions, decisions. Several watches and pieces of jewelry are in the catalog, but they're really not my thing.

Onto the photos I took this week:

Little green apples

I took trash out to the dumpster in the back of my apartment building's parking lot. I happened to notice a small half-eaten green apple on the ground. I looked up and saw the apple-eater with another one in his paws.

Flower of an hour

Thanks to Bernice, I now know what these beautiful flowers which are usually closed are! You can tell that they're a hibiscus type flower. These just sprouted up like weeds near the Bridgewater Train Station. After the jump, I have a photo of the plant itself.

My town (Plainfield, NJ) had its 93rd Annual 4th of July Parade yesterday.  If you want to check out the photos I took or the "story" below won't work for you, the actual slideshow on my Photobucket account can be found at this link. The link to the album is right here. It was great to see all the children from the city schools involved this year! While the Plainfield HS Marching Band is usually in attendance, the younger kids got involved with their Drama Club (do they still call it that?) doings.
